The hotel needs renovations, hot water works when it wants, water pressure is low, power outlets are low voltage, and wifibis really slow. The pool and bar were good. Breakfast was good and not repetitive. The motorcycle rental on the property is a bonus since getting around is a must.

Nipa on June-July

Breakfast was great as was the pool bar and the pool itself. Personnel have changed during the last years, but still great specially at the breakfastroom and pool bar. Hotel is clean and nice and in great location. If I have to say something negative, let it be that minibar was not filled daily. But overall very nice hotel and I will probably book a room again when I get next time to Phuket.

Hotel and facilities exelent, staff fantastic, location very good for shopping and nightlife. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus to and from the beach. Pool was brilliant, lots of chairs and a bar. Restaurant and food very nice.

I had a great stay at Nipa resort ! Although it is an older property, but it is pretty good condition and the free breakfast and me to order eggs was great. They had enough food options for everyone including Thai breakfast in the morning as well as American breakfast too. The staff was helpful whenever I needed them. Kris was great to help me check out at 4:30 in the morning. The pool was lively, and I saw people of all ages, relaxing and chilling and reading books etc. it is very close to the Patong beach and walking distance is only about 8 to 9 minutes. Being a solo female traveler, I felt safe at this location. Overall, for the area I was in this was a nice hotel, and good value for money. I could possibly return here on my next trip. Thanks Nipa !

Great for the price, the staff was very lovely and friendly which is very important, so we are very grateful of their service and care. The building is overall very nice with thai style, nice pool, good size beds,confortable rooms and very good service clean!. Also very good located in Patong for walking distance. The only feedback to improve maybe more variety for the breakfast and also they were doing some renovations during the day, which makes bit too noisy in the rooms.

When do you the shower even will closing the shower curtain, the water still run at.the edge of the bathtub beside the wall. We have to put 2 towels to stop the water.

We just stayed at Nipa Resort and we loved it. Our family room was spacious and very clean.. beds were comfortable. The pool area was amazing and we used it every day. Breakfast was excellent and was changed up every day.. staff were so good, always smiling and so polite.

Property is well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is great as well. However the beds are hard as a rock and the walls are thin so you can hear people in the next room.

Good & basic resort

The resort has all the necessities, however when compared with other resorts it was quite basic. Breakfast was ordinary with selections changing daily. Only having one room card was a pain and we weren't allowed another one. Prices are a bit high for drinks and meals, however happy hour between 4-6pm was good. Even the price for a late check out was high. The pool is quite small when compared with the photos but it was nice to swim and relax. Location was good and a short walk from Patong Beach and Bangla Road. The free upgrade was nice and the service in general was good. It was good they held onto our luggage before our late flight for free.

Good points: - Location is great. Short walk to the craziness and all the bars and restaurants but just far enough away from it to not be a loud or seedy area. - Pool is great. It’s a decent size and a really nice temperature. Opening hours of the pool are 9am to 9pm - we had one of the new rooms in the newer building which was really nice. Pool view was very nice, size of the room was good facilities were newish. Bad Points: - The pool bar is ridiculously over expensive at 120thb per beer (around £3GBP). Everywhere else sells beer for between 50 and 80 baht. They also charge 80 baht (around £2GBP) for a can of coke which can be bought at the 7 eleven next door for less than 20 baht. - Some staff have an issue with you bringing your own food and drink to the hotel, which seems strange considering they sold me a self catering package. They were fine selling me this but then told me off for eating food from outside of the hotel. - Breakfast is awful. I’m not normally one to complain about breakfast in countries such as Thailand. With that said, most hotels offer a decent western breakfast option. In this case it’s only toast or eggs, there’s no bacon, sausage, beans etc, just curries, noodles, deep fried stuff etc. There is also some fruit and 2 choices or cereal. The juice options were lovely. I would skip breakfast at the hotel and head out of the hotel go left and follow the road until you see Lucky 13 opposite Bangla boxing stadium, they do good food!

Good but poor night staff

Have instructions for my brothers arrival and when he arrived the hotel didn’t give him the key card even though I gave my brothers name and left key card behind reception for him. He had to wait 30 minutes till I could come back from my excursion !!

We arrived at 10.30pm from Melbourne Australia feeling rather worn out,we where greeted by reception and made to feel welcome and comfortable from the get go.Our room was lovely and plenty big enough for two people.We slept very well on a comfortable bed,wondered down to breakfast and there was everything you could possibly want.After we went for a swim in the pool,the pool is fantastic,lots of shade areas to relax in,a very good size pool.there are many good restaurants close by,and the Nipa Restaurant had great food to.A really great place to stay,the staff,the pool,the food,we loved everything.We where quite sad to leave after 15 days.We can highly recommend this hotel.

Rude receptionist;

The receptionist are very bad attitude since the day we arrives.

The staff was rude and Expedia was unhelpful. I booked a trip alone (female) and got a confirmation for the hotel. But once I arrived the hotel stated there was no reservation. The woman kept going to a back office to her manager but the manager never came out and I had proof of confirmation that they did not honor. They tried to tell me to pay cash and then call Expedia for my money back. Long story short, I finally had someone from back home get ahold of 6 different managers through Expedia before I got a refund and another hotel booked for me

Didnt stay as the hotel asked for 100bht per night for my companion. I told Hotels.com and they arranged waiver, but I lost faith in the hotel.

It wasn't far from the airport and had a pool which was warm. Nice room the first time I stopped but second time the room smelt rather foisty but staff did come and squirt some air freshener which helped eliminate it some when I asked.

The hotel is very clean and and the service is great! Everyone is super friendly and what especially made me happy is that when coming back after a long day there almost always was a surprise from maid in a room waiting for me.

great location. quiet enough to sleep but if you want to part its a 5 minute walk, you are right in the middle of everything, shopping, beach, party, and of course FOOD.

check in was easy, we got a welcome drink and they helped us with our luggage. The room was spacey, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was alright. The breakfast was only ok, cold coffee and not a lot options. It was outside, which I normally like but it don't know how I feel about it since it was in Thailand. The pool was big and looked super clean. The gym equipment was old and it did not have AC. Still I would return for 2-3 days. Nice hotel that I would not qualify as a resort. The property is well maintained and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately their mattresses are as hard as concrete. Sleeping on the floor has more give then that bed!

Good location nice staff

The staff were friendly and did their best to meet our needs. We had a really good time and felt it was a good place for couples and families. The travel desk was especially friendly and helpful. We had many good conversations about Japan. Maybe the WiFi could be better in the rooms... but good overall.

Room were clean but the room service cleaned the room around 3-4pm every day. Made me pay for a broken glass which is ridiculous. Bath tub were leaking everywhere after a short shower the bathroom was a swimming pool basically. Light bulbs were missing in the room. Needs a bit of refurb.Early check in were not optional even tho they see me waiting in the lobby for 3 hrs. Bit more flexibility could make it better but overall good experience....

Best Hotel in Phuket

I absolutely loved staying here. The staff was so impressive, what was impressive was they took the time to learn to say my name correctly, they made me laugh and they had the best hospitality. The room was so clean, when I got there I walked past a room and the hotel staff was on her knees with a toothbrush and scrub cleaning the floor. If that isn’t amazing, I don’t know what is. It was beyond beautiful and clean there. The only negative was the bed was little too firm for my liking. I would have liked the bed to be a little softer but overall I had a great experience.

Great location. Older style Thai hotel

Enjoyed our stay but first room they gave us a bit dull and tired and a horrible view. Moved to a pool view with alovely balcony. Pool itself is lovely but not much room round the edge for sun loungers. Need more for the number of guests at hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast with a decent choice. Had dinner in the hotel one night ( thunder storm prevented us venturing much further) food was really good, freshly cooked and a reasonable prices for hotel resturant. Enjoyed our stay.

A very nice hotel located on a very busy street in Patong. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious, with a bath tub, kinda rare in Thailand. Lots of eateries walking distance from the hotel, a 7-11 right next door. Everything is there, with a really nice pool you can't pass up. Really can't say anything bad about this hotel, I can usually find something, but this property was well made, inviting, and rooms were spacious.

Will not ever go to this place again for sure. Rude staff. guard screaming at night. utter nonsense. Guys u can have better options then this for sure. I felt I'm in jail luckily only had to stay one night next morning just checked out and never looked back.

We had a great stay at Nipa Resort! The pool was lovely and a great way to cool off. Our room was a Deluxe Pool view and was very spacious and neat! The WORST check-in EVER!!!

It was the worst check-in ever! I booked the room more than a month before our stay. I got a confirmation email which said that nothing else need to be done because everything is already confirmed with the hotel. But when me and my wife came to the hotel the receptionist told me that we are not in the "list of guests" and there is no room prepared for us. After I showed him all confirmation letters he told us to sit down and wait, and start looking (very slowly) into their systems. After 30 minutes of silence!!! I asked if the issue was fixed and if we can get into our room, the receptionist said "Yes, we found you in our system but you have to wait ANOTHER 40 MINUTES for housekeeper to clean the room"!!! Another 40 minutes!!! I asked if any other "already cleaned" room available at this moment, but he said "No, you have to wait". So we waited more than 1 hour in a lobby just to check-in! The worst check-in ever! Normally it takes from 1 to 5 minutes in other hotels. We booked a "Grand Deluxe Pool View" which is located in the new building, so it looked new. The central remote unit (to turn on lights and A/C) is a nice feature. The bathroom is big and room is ok size. Small balcony is also a nice feature. Overall hotel is ok, but the staff need to be trained!!!! I will not stay in this hotel again!

Overall value for money

in my opinion, breakfast selection can be improved. However, the kitchen does serve some great thai cuisine. I had tom yum gong, fried rice and satay. It was delicious ! Room was not soundproof, I had to endure some fellows drinking and talking loudly next room at 5am in the morning.

Good location mid range hotel

Hotel overall was good and for me was in a great location being an easy 10 minute walk to the beach, shopping mall and main nightlife. I found the staff to be very warm and helpful whenever they were asked anything and did the best they could although some at reception spoke very limited English. The rooms were very clean and overall maintenance was also good. The pool area was nice although sunbeds were hard to come by as the space isn't really enough for the number of rooms in the hotel. The only couple of negatives I would say is the standard of breakfast could do with improving and also the shower in the bathrooms are too low I had to kneel in the bath to take a shower also my room 1210 although has a balcony looks out onto a brick wall. Despite this I would stay here again if the price was right.

One of the best we have stayed in.

Nipa is a quality older styled Thai resort that outstrips many other in its class. We stayed 4 nights. The room (a junior suite) was large and comfortable. The pool was nice and breakfast good. The service good also. The resort offered free parking and a child's crib as we wanted included in the price.

Needs an update and maintenance work!

Unfortunately Nipa Resort didn't quite meet expectations (and they were low). The staff were wonderful, I just wish the big guys would do them justice and invest much needed funds into making guests' stay pleasant. Improvement is needed in the following areas: - Hot water system (we had warm water twice in our 10 day stay). - Air Conditioning (it seems to work hard to put out just a small amount of cool air). - Mosquito protection (somehow there were several sneaking in from somewhere; maybe the ducted air con or bathroom fan?). - General maintenance such as new towels without holes and stains, safe battery was dead, bath plug was stuck shut (we had these two attended to). - Pillows and bed are very hard. The mattress is liveable but less firm pillows would be beneficial. - Wifi signal update (drops off and non existant daily). - Warm bainmaries are essential! Tea light ones are currently used but they were never lit so breakfast is always room temperature, we ate early and late but it made no difference. Room temperate chicken etc is dangerous. The smiling egg station man is the greatest feature. - Bathtub design means all the water runs around the bath and down along the floor soaking the bath mat. Please, please update these things! Location, staff and are perfect, but sadly we won't return until it's had some work.

Oasis in a city

This is our 2nd time staying at the Nipa, both times we have had pool access rooms, just love this facility being able to come out of the room and straight into the pool. The Nipa is centrally located, 10 min walk to beach road, shopping, food, massages all real close. A ATM and 7/11 is right next door for all those little bits and pieces. We find the Nipa great if you are people to be out and about, not the best if you want to sit and watch the water. Breakfast is on the light side for choice for westerners, although they do have a chef waiting to take your orders to cook you a fresh omelette if you wish. Check in had us a little concerned, they didn't seem to have our reservation from Expedia, asking us if we had only just booked it on the net, when we had booked it months in advance. Our Expedia booking said no need to reconfirm but in future I think I will be. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Genral rating

One evening a rat visited us in the restaurant that was not pleasant. 7 eleven and pharmacy was closeby that was good. Other visiters was using our access to the pool that was irritating. Other guests do not have shade area to relash in, you should look at that. A genral rating is rated for this hotel.

Really nice hotel but if I have to be picky the pool was to warm and the rooms could do with some sound proofing. we had the pool access and the balconys a bit small not enough room to have reclining chairs but all together very good

Good location, close to everything

Amazing. The first night the AC didn't work, so they put us in a different room. They were polite about it. Fixed the AC and we enjoyed our pool access room. I highly recommend the pool access room. Close to Bangla St and the Patong Beach.

Pool was very dirty I would not swim in it

I think that the staff need to learn how to treat people. When you ask them something it was always seemed you where bothering them. Also they need to change the filter in pool more often and then they would not have so much trouble with the green water.

Gem in center of town

This was a cute and comfortable hotel right in the center of town. It was easy and convenient to walk everywhere. The pool was amazing to relax at and the it was nice breakfast was included as well.

Great little resort!

We stayed in the pool access rooms for one week which were amazing! I would highly recommend staying in one of these rooms as they back straight onto the main pool. The air conditioning was great and the beds were nice and comfortable, only thing I can critique about the rooms was that the temperature of the shower was hard to maintain. Only a few minutes in a tuk tuk to patong beach, Bangla road and shops. Small resort so it was never too busy. Staff were lovely and the travel stand out the front of the hotel helped us book all of our activities at a good price. Would definitely recommend staying here we really enjoyed it.

Nice hotel great location

On arrival we were given a higher level room with a pool view just as we had requested. The only problem was that the room also overlooked a construction site that was still in its early stages and ongoing. Although the site was immediately to the left of our balcony we more or less missed any production noise as we were away from the room most of the day. Nevertheless its not a good sight to wake to, but on the other hand it is not the fault of the hotel. Our main concern were the towels which were off colour and very thin and very rough. We bought some towels and used them as the hotel towels were beyond recognition as towels. We also complained on arrival of black hair between the sheets and stains on the sheets. The bedding was replaced immediately but the towels were limited and the staff had no choice but to issue what they had, not their fault and we do not blame them at all. The staff spoke very little English but they put themselves out to help as much as they could. The hotel was 5/6 minutes walk from the main shopping centre and Bangla road. Far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. Scooters on hire everywhere and street food/ restaurants available immediately in all directions from the hotel entrance. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant very clean. Staff very polite and willing to help. The swimming pool water was nice and cool and well maintained set within lovely gardens. The poolside beds were to cramped together as room was limited.

Nipa resort

We enjoyed our stay in this resort,staff was very nice and helpful.We enjoyed the breakfast and the restaurant had excellent menu reasonably priced.The Thai massage (2hour oil&aroma)was excellent.Could not ask for better location,close to shops,Bangla rd and beach,all within a few minutes of walking distance. I thoroughly recommend this resort,I would return there without hesitation.

Great pool access room.

Had 9 nights at Nipa, found location of Nipa quiet and away from the hustle and bustle yet still only 10 min walk from Bangla Road. Pool access room was great. Restaurant staff excellent. Reception staff very limited English. TV very limited viewing, only 14 channels in total, so when Fox TV was no longer showing in our room after 2 days and did not get re-connected was annoying. Expected to be picked up from airport after emailing resort 40hours before arriving at Phuket airport, taxi did not arrive so had to find alternative transport from airport. Shower was frustrating in that could not control temperature, water was either too hot or cold.

Nice Place

We came down from Bangkok for just three days. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the Patong Beach. Tons of places to eat and a hospital right across the street. Really an ideal location.
