Great location. Very helpful staff. Grateful for the free room upgrade.
Great location, lovely hotel - some lovely touches but not quite 5 star. Expensive for what it is … but highly recommend and will happily return
very nice the location no super busy
Would stay again for sure
Clean and renovated, staff very friendly. Close to everything.
Amazing stay and staff! Perfect location.
Loved everything about this property. Stayed quite a few days and walked the whole city. This location was perfect.
Great property and location.
Amazingly comfortable stay
Great service from the check in to the check out. Comfortable rooms and great breakfast. Highly reccomend.
Lovely hotel
Amazing!!
Excellent location, spacious rooms and great breakfast
The air conditioning was poor. It was very warm. The staff was ok.
Location
Great area, staff excelllent, clean and comfortable
No VIP room upgrade at all. Does Expedia VIP ever functions for the room upgrade ?
This is an exemplary property with amazing staff. Clean, great location and wonderful amenities. Highly recommend! A great part of a long-awaited family location.
We stayed two days in the hotel and the air conditioning was not working. We reported and we were ignored. We had to open the windows to refresh the room. The breakfast was expensive and lack of variety of food. (No omelette at the hour I arrived for breakfast 9:30 AM). The bathroom not had where to hang the towel. The staff was friendly. The hotel location was good.
The most attentive and pleasant staff we have experienced at any four or five star hotel. Extraordinary breakfast. Excellent soundproofing provided by the heavy wooden balcony doors. Great mattress and bedding, with variety of pillows. Every aspect of this hotel was perfect.
Overall great Hotel great service did not get upgraded but the room are beautiful and welcoming My daughter got the better view
Only stayed for a night but the room was great, hotel staff even gave us a free upgrade! The location was amazing, easy to get around, and I would definitely stay there again.
Such a beautiful space - they upgraded us to the 2 storey suite with wraparound views across the 3 balconies - such a great hotel and experience!
Perfect location
We have enjoyed staying at NH Palacio de Tepa in the past. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Perfect location and our upgrade was an unexpected surprise. Thank you to the staff and we will see you next year.
Overall had a very nice stay. Hotel is well located. Service was good. One suggestion: the first photo on the hotels.com app is of a pool. The pool is unfortunately located in a different building, available only to guests age 18 and older, and comes with a 13 euro per person charge. As I was traveling with my 12 year old, we were looking forward to using it at the end of the day but were unable to do so.
Spacious room and comfortable bed. Good location to city center activities.
Amazing service and friendly staff, accommodating, the Hotel is in epicenter of nightlife’s and bars whichever way you turn.
Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. Conveniently located located at the heart of Madrid, but yet quiet. Walkable to all major sites.
Hotel is in a great location. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and bright.
Great Location
Great Location Good hotel Good Service Rooms on 5th floor, as advertised , to be fair, have sloping ceiling which technically dramatically reduces the practical size of the room. For me due to this the rooms are therefore not 5 star quality and do not justify the 5 star price, Breakfast is very good
My experience in few words is Too expensive for what you get, very annoying noises early morning from next door construction facing room, what is supposed to be a beautiful view is a construction view. Broken bath tub, expired cheese at breakfast, huge flies on buffet breakfast. I couldn’t wait to leave for another hotel.
The perfect place
Perfect location for tourists. A populous area, yet the room was very quiet. All the staff members were darling, charming, and generously helpful.
Nice hotel in a very central area in historic district area. Staff is attentive to guests requests and morning breakfast was delicious.
Great location!
The location is great - very convenient and walkable. The breakfast was good with a nice selection. However the hotel itself is average. We stayed in a family suite and the bathroom was shockingly small, the bed was very hard, linens were rough, and the staff was not friendly. Not worth the price.
Great location to visit walkable Madrid. Wonderful breakfast buffet and beautiful rooms. Staff was very nice and guided us for the spa/pool across the plaza. Great neighborhood.
Staff was amazing. Excellent location. Everything was nice.
Great hotel, great location and friendly staff
Great location, helpful staff
Will stay here again
Patricia at guest services was wonderful. In fact all of the staff were very nice We thought that the location of the hotel was amazing
after a first night in a small and noisy room they upgraded both of us, that was just perfect
The staff was attentive. The room (junior suite) was spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent as we could walk to all the main attractions that we wanted to see in Madrid.
Great location and breakfast
Ok, Probably Better Places Nearby
The hotel has a nice lobby and the breakfast buffet was very good. We had a few pretty simple issues during our stay that management struggled to resolve. First off, there was no blind on our windows which made it very bright and difficult to sleep. When we told management, they checked and said the blinds were motorised blinds, but were broken. After we complained that this made it difficult to sleep, they offered to move us to a different (worse) room. They offered a larger room but said we would have to pay the difference. We eventually ended up in a smaller room. They also offered us nothing to compensate for the lack of blinds and the hassle of moving, which I found a bit unimpressive. Overall the hotel has some things missing and broken, and the furnishing in the rooms wasn't particularly nice. The location of the hotel is very convenient and central with lots of bars and restaurants right outside.
Somewhat disappointed as there was no air conditioning available. My recollection from previous stays at this hotel was that we had air conditioning that we could control in the room regardless of season!
Noisy neighborhood, but well worth it
The staff and rooms were lovely. The neighborhood is vibrant, but noisy, though the rooms have multiple layers of shutters which help mitigate that somewhat. This neighborhood does not sleep, so do not expect complete quiet. Location is right in the middle of everything.
Fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely big room, which is lovely and clean. You can easily walk to all the sites as well
Very clean and the staff was very friendly.
Excellent property!! This was my first time traveling to Europe and I couldn’t have picked a better city or property!! Would definitely recommend and I would definitely stay again!!
Honestly, this hotel accommodation is disappointing to be rated 5 stars. The room provided was a shoe closet that looked into an alley way. Other 5 stars I have stayed in would have never given that option as a room. It’s simply not acceptable to charge 5 star prices for what is a 2-3 star experience. The hotel was fully booked so no other rooms were avaliable. I generally like the NH brand, but this specific location, there are better hotel with the same convenience with lower prices and rooms to match. I won’t be staying here in the future.
Excellent location and helpful staff
Great hotel if you want to stay in the Playa Mayor area. Would definitely return at the right price point (no more than $250 per night)
Excellent as always
This hotel is excellent, it's not the first time I have stayed there and I always find the staff super helpful, the rooms are roomy, nice, and clean, breakfasts are incredible as well.
Wonderful value in the heart of Madrid with the best breakfast offering I have ever had in 60 years of traveling to Europe. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located near the Sol subway station, an easy walk even with luggage, so use the Metro that starts from the T4 Terminal. The room was clean and quiet with a great bathroom, and in-room safe.
Great base for exploring Madrid and beyond in the middle of everything. Friendly staff but definitely not the five star hotel.
Madrid stay
An excellent experience. Check in was easy, the foyer was clean and smelled gorgeous. We had cava on arrival. The junior suite was spotless and the sofa bed was left as such and turned down to a bed whilst we were out for the evening ready for return. The breakfast was exceptional with a wonderful spread of continental options as well as an al a carte menu. We would definitely return.
Very clean and great custmer service, and convenient location.
Beautiful room and wonderful service
Staffs are nice. Room is very clean.
Hotel is in the middle of most of the sightseeing so it’s very convenient. Front staff was very nice, offered us a drink as we arrived. Check in is not till 3 but they had a room available for us and was able to use it at 11am. They do give you a complimentary glass water every day. Every day our room was cleaned. Check out was nice and easy.
We loved the service and the personnel. Guest services (aka concierge) was excellent. We got booked for everything we asked for: trips, flamenco show, hair appointment. The location is golden: 15 minutes walk to everything. The car is parked by valet, which isn’t available in every hotel.
Excellent hotel and amazing service
Luxurious hotel in Madrid
My husband and I had a great stay at NH Palacio de Tepa during our three days in Madrid. Check in was a breeze, and we were welcomed with a drink. The room was clean and luxurious. The hotel is walkable from many key sites in Madrid, including great food and drink. It was a great retreat during the extremely hot weather in Madrid. There were many choices at the breakfast buffet as well. There was a taxi stand across the corner from the hotel so leaving with all our bags to go to the airport was also convenient. I highly recommend this location.
Wonderful staff and great location , enjoyed our stay
I chose this property because it was close to Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol and well as Plaza de Santa Ana. It is close to these areas but it’s a very confusing area to navigate and sadly rather dirty this time. We stayed on the Prada last trip and that was easier. The Staff were very friendly and helpful though. The inside was nice but for a5 star hotel we thought the peeling paint in the bathroom and around the door was not a good look. And the room was on the small side.
I wouldn’t give this hotel more than 3.5 STARS, there is no attention to details what so ever, I Told the management that I liked my room cool but they ignored my preference and every time we left the room they raised the temperature to 24 degrees centigrade, The turn down service was terrible and the beds were not done, I guess leaving 2 pieces of chocolate on the edge of an unfixed bed is what they call turn down service, I would definitely not recommend this hotel, it’s way over priced for the quality of service and accommodation
Excellent hotel in the heart of Madrid. Great staff, service and location.
Good hotel, great managing Lady
I arrived and at the front desk , they said they would give a room that was a premium room untill a time ago. When I arrived to the room , the room had view to the corridor but in the evening everyone could see inside. I had to go down to try to change it and I was told they had no other room. I past the guest relations desk and complaint. A lady came in a moment and offered to change the room, and I made a mistake and thought that the room had no black out , and complaint again , and the maneger explained and apologised and was very kind. The hotel is very good , the area is beautifull to dinne and walk.
Everyone was so friendly and was always willing to help!
The staffs are very friendly and kind to the guests.
Perfect location. Vibrant area which comes with quite a bit of noise: very walkable to so many places. Enjoyed the stay
Breakfast was below expectations compared to other hotels in Spain. The room was also assigned to a narrow and noisy room on the first floor. I couldn't sleep because of the noise all night, so I requested a room change. A bottle of wine was provided, but I wished it was a room upgrade rather than wine. It was a situation that was slightly modified when I complained. Even when I fell down the stairs in the hotel, they didn't seem to feel responsible.
It is is in a great area, walkable to to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, but if you need the metro line it is right there too. Tons of restaurants and bars around, yet, our room was facing an inside patio so it was very quiet. The lobby had a strong smell to air freshener that I did not like at all, but the rest of the Hotel smell fresh and clean.
Very central with nice clean rooms
What a Gorgeous hotel!!! The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is right in the center of the old city. Many places to see and things to do. I would definitely be back.
This is not by a far cry a 5 star hotel, not even a 4 star hotel and I’ve been to better 3 stars. The hotel itself and rooms look old and run down, depressing dark rooms with mostly grey and beige colors. Service leaves much to be desired as well. We arrived at 1pm, the hotel upgraded us to junior suite as we are gold members of Expedia. They said the room will be ready in one hour. Their stated check-in time is at 3. We left to have some lunch and came back at 3, i.e one hour after they promised us the room will be ready and exactly by the check in time stated on the website. They say the room will be ready in 10 minutes. This is already eyebrow raising for a 5 star hotel, but then we waited another 40 minutes after their stated check in time! Unacceptable. Then in the room, the ceiling started leaking. We tried to call reception just to find out that our phone is just standing there without any cords and not connected to anything. I used the app they suggested to submit service request, and my friend had to go downstairs to ensure someone is coming. Then came the guy who didn’t speak English with a towel. Mopped the floor and the ceiling with the towel and left! No apologies from the stuff, no nothing. In the room, knowing there will be two people, there was only one bottle of water, and one water glass, one beer glass and one wine glass! Again not even a 4 star. cleaning is very perfunctory
Great location, beautiful installations and outstanding staff service!!
Great location and nice staff but far from 5-star. Bed was hard, towels thin, pillows flat, no turn-down service, and noisy. Hallways could use a facelift and lobby has unpleasant aroma. I would not recommend.
The staff was AMAZING. The only tiny thing was that the website made it sound like the spa-pool-gym was in the building and included and it was actually across the plaza and we had to pay an extra $30 for entry but it was still LOVELY.
Amazing everything.
Amazing location. Amazing experience. And the room was incredible. I constantly travel and this place was truly 5 star.
Well situated , good value for money … decent rooms , friendly staff
Excellent location to restaurants and pints of interests. Staffs are very helpful. Room is clean.
A very beautiful palace.
This has to be one of the best hotels that i have stayed in ages. The staff are exceptional and excellent. They are helpful and responsive. The hotel location is brilliant as nearly all the places of interest are with a walkable distance. Madrid gavecus a wonderful surprise and is easily on parr if not better than some of the other cities of the world.
Excellent customer service and location
Excellent location would consider coming back just for that fact. Bathrooms could use a bit of an upgrade given the hotel tier.
Great location and friendly staff.
Location of the hotel is perfect. The lady who checked us in was not welcoming at all. We arrived early in the morning and accepted that early check-in will not be provided. We were given our room at exactly 3PM. The room given was meant for persons with disabilities and smelled like cigarette smoke.
Overall a good stay, staff were lovely and helpful. Interior rooms, with no real windows was weird. Our room obviously had a water leak, ceiling was still damaged and floor was warped, this was super disconcerting.
The staff were great and the location was good. The property needs renovation especially the bathrooms.
Thank you
Lovely quiet hotel despite being at the centre of evening eating activity for the district. Great location, super value for money.
Not a 5 star hotel
Great staff, high quality room full of amenities, delicious wine offered and very nice upgrade to a duplex family room ! Strongly recommended!!!
Great location!!
My favorite hotel in Madrid! The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The location is the best!
Amazing location and friendly staff
Fabulous location. I could walk down to most of the places I wanted to visit. Really cozy and cute room and friendly staff.

Great location. The hotel and the rooms are kept very clean. The guest relations woman stood out. But everyone was very friendly.
