We had to slept with not air condictioning because they don’t put it on because of the season but the room was so hot. We did not enjoy it

Comfortable stay

Comfortable stay with very helpful staff and super clean. Bed was comfortable and was quiet. Only room for improvement is overall condition - the room had a fair bit of wear and tear and air conditioning temperature was difficult to control.

Love it and will go again

Staff was very attentive to answering questions and proving great dining recommendations. The breakfast buffet was delicious and worth the price.

The hotel is good! It has even grand piano. Breakfast is good, but was not included for me. Area around the hotel… depends on what direction you are going to.

Disappointed

Our stay was not what as advertised. The hotel is centrally located in an industrial business area. The restaurant/bar was closed for?, but the hotel did have a very good breakfast. Dinner was a necessary taxi ride away.

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who go Barcelona. Their staff provides prompt reply and response for the customers. Also, their rooms are much better and bigger as shown in the picture. All familiarities are matched with the description. Though there some noice on the street, the window of the hotel is well sealed.

Well located lovely hotel.

Excellent service, a really nice room and a great location. One downside was the cost of the breakfast. It was €19 each, which we find to be excessive for what was served. Otherwise, great value.

Good hotel. The room was a little bit small. We would like a coffee machine but the rest was perfect : clean and the bed was really good. Service perfect and the breakfast was expensive but a good and a lot of choices and varieties

Reasonable room size and friendly staff. Convenient for a short stay and very quiet. The view from the rooms can be unappealing and the room interiors could benefit from an update. But the staff are very friendly and was a peasant stay overall.

I liked in the hotel. The staff were nice and friendly and it offered good value for money. Only downsides are that the room walls were a little thin, so you could hear other guests and there was no kettle in the room to allow us to make tea/coffee.

Good...but can be improved

The room was very good! However plenty of dust on the bedside tables and main tables. The staff seems lost when asking just a bit of milk or coffe saying they don't have access to that and looking to each other like no one ever asked for this. But we did have it the day after. We were very happy with the management leaving as bday cake. Overall all gold

It was a pretty nice stay!!! There just was an additional charge, that I wasn’t aware of when I booked? I stayed later than I originally intended, and they let me stay later.. I just didn’t want to pay this “fee” again? I was annoyed, and left..

Staff was friendly and helpful. It’s an ok stay similar to a Hilton Hampton Inn. I definitely recommend being closer to the city center if you’re just here for tourism.

Nice and clean place

Hotel was a good price which is why we stayed here for the three days. Around 10 minutes walk to the nearest metro stop, which is convenient for getting into town. Hotel is very old and tired, and rooms in desperate need of renovation. Shower can’t keep a constant temperature and bed not the comfiest. But- it does the job for a short trip.

Everything was pretty good. A few exceptions are stinky smell from bathroom pipe once a day, hot water in the shower was constantly fluctuating from your set temp to very hot. Hotel is away from noisy area, which is good.

Close to beach

Great hotel, 10 mins walk to the beach, great breakfast and staff.

Great suite to stay in. Since Inwas travelling with another person, having two bathrooms was amazing. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was phenomenal and there were lots of gluten free breakfast options I appreciated.

Actually, everything was good. I just want to say about couple things. First, bathroom ventilation does not work. Second, shower towels could be better for this price.

Charming , good neighborhood hotel

Checking was vey pleasant, Tony , the front desk clerk was very welcoming and nice, the chef Juan was incredibly nice , overall the experience was nice , however , is not the hotel’s fault , but there is a lot of new construction around the area and it’s very dusty and the smell of sewage it’s present , once again , not the hotel’s fault , but there should be a warning about it , so I can make a good decision when booking the rooms , but we had a great time anyway . Oh, before I forget , my room didn’t have a coffee maker , I was informed by an employee at the front desk , that my room rate , did not qualify for a coffee maker I the room .

Quite well placed for business at the international convention centre (4 stops on the metro) and then 2 stops the other way to the main city. Rooms were clean functional and quiet but no outlook at all - overlooked by other rooms so limited privacy. Gym facilities were poor. I didn't have food but appeared limited. Basic but good for city break where not spending time in your hotel.

Don’t book if you need sleep!

Stay here was awful and had to leave the 2nd day of a 10 day trip without any compensation or refund for remainder. There was a really annoying humming/buzzing sound in both rooms we booked and throughout the halls. I asked the staff about it but they all seemed untrained, new, and incompetent and denied hearing the sound I literally have on video. In addition, fire alarm went off early in the morning and I called the front to see if it was a true emergency or mishap; there was no response. Hurried down with the most important things we could collect to find someone fiddling around in the room where the fire alarm controls were explaining he didn’t know what was going on. Overall, this place was an awful experience with unhelpful staff. Do not recommend, there are plenty of other places nearby to stay at comfortably.

Was in a very sketchy looking area… was never scared walking around madrid at night but was scared here. ALOT of bars/clubs around. People yelling loudly at 1-6am so if u are a light sleeper, i dont reccomend this place. Other than that, its just like any other hotel

Comfortable Hotel, Out of the Way Location

The NH Diagonal has modern, comfortable and clean rooms and a great breakfast spread. However, the location is a little out of the way from common tourist destinations. There is a bit of a walk to get to the 3 closest subway destinations. I would likely stay there again but, if the price were the same, I would stay closer to the core.

Don’t buy the breakfast! The breakfast buffet was not worth it. They used substitute eggs and for the amount of money they charge, I expected real eggs. Other than that, everything else was excellent. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were nice, modern and comfortable.

Bathtub and walls inside the shower were dirty. Area around the hotel is still under construction and development.

Modern stylish hotel but not much service.

The Hotel is modern and well equipped. Our room was very nice but had some issues with the bathroom- Tiles coming off and broken shower fitting. We reported them but nothing was done during our stay. Staff were not very friendly and room service was done very late each day and not to a good standard.

It is in a dirty, run down part of Barcelona with not much around it. It's a shame really because the property itself is very nice.

We stayed for 9 days, in a "Superior" room, and the negatives outweigh the positives. At first glance, we appreciated that the room was clean, but then we quickly started bumping into issues, like the coffee maker was not working, and also the phone was out of service. The room was suppossed to have a queen bed, but we found two single beds put together. This was very unconvenient because both beds had wheels and they would drift appart or, what's more annoying, drift forward when trying to sit up to watch TV or use a laptop in bed. I took the elevator downstairs to get some coffee, only to find out that their lobby machine was also out of service, and that the restaurant was temporarily closed. The hotel gym was quite small and narrow. Only one person at a time could use the dumbbell area, and the weights didn't go up to 50 lbs, as you would find in most hotels. Overall, I leave more disappointed than happy, but the hotel has lots of potential.

Staff very very helpful and friendly. Check-in and Check-out process very easy. The room is nice and clean. only one thing , the curtains dont totally hide the lights. Really liked the place.

You have better luck at a hostel than here…

Where to begin my god. First of all got there and the line was almost out the door for people to check in. Penelope which I’ve read a review about was mentally checked out and was of no help to the other employee. Seriously she took 30 minutes with each person she would attempt to help but kept asking her coworker how to do things. The other poor girl was stretched too thin. Finally we checked in and then went up to our room. The AC was blowing hot air. We went down to complain but we were asked “ so there’s no air blowing at all.” It was an instant red flag because clearly this was an issue before. Then I addressed the mold and shower not draining issue. Plus the dust, the broken mirror, and the suspicious staying and on the ceiling and wall. So I asked if we could simply be moved to another room. A blonde woman with glasses clearly the manager steps out of nowhere and says a kid you not “Well you ordered a simple room so that’s what you get.” I’m not joking. Then she made an excuse after we said it was cooler in the hallways by saying “Oh it’s because the heat from the window makes the room hot.” It was literally 8pm the sun was down. So she said she would send maintenance to check which she did but the room was one degree cooler when we got back from the festival. I had to take cold showers in order to be cool enough and stay in the room. Plus the bar was closed. It’s simply not worth the price and believe all the terrible reviews because I guarantee they are true.

Good chain hotel, good sized rooms

Stayed in a junior suite: generous sized bedroom and lounge, ensuite bathroom (great shower) and additional WC. brilliant hairdryer! Wish they had bath sheets rather than bath towels. Friendly, helpful staff. Broken light on arrival, quickly replaced. On the downside -Disappointed it was a view onto interior well (NH site photos suggest this, but ones on Hotels suggest a view out). Bed is huge but very firm - I slept on top of the duvet. Usual irritation at being given a nice coffee machine and then spoiling it with 3 measly pods, and only 1 espresso and 1 standard cup: why do hotels do that knowing there are 2 guests? I left a note asking for 4 pods, not decaff, and was left 2 decaff 1 proper! I'm sure you can walk down to get more but it just seems daft.

The property is not maintained. We had cracked mirror doors for the closets. Broken tiles on the floors, stains on the walls and ceilings. Overall and not maintained and I would not recommend it. Bedding with cheap and old also

Only concerns were that the room only had 2 electric outlets. One by bed and one by desk. Floor was worn by door that gave us a way to keep it open when bringing in bags.

Closed to amenities either to the city or the sea everywhere is walking distance.

Not recommending this hotel

Location- very far fr the main attractions Shower head fell off my shoulder while in use. Tissue holder comes off every time you pull tissue off. No complimentary bottle water, not even in-room coffee maker and the tap water does not taste good. The elevator takes forever. The floor in our room was chipped with wooden pieces sticking out.

The Room was clean and nice but overall hotel needed a bit of a spring clean. Good breakfast but expensive.

Lovely place to stay... highly recommended!!!!!!!!

This hotel was not in the hustle and bustle of the main city. It was located in an industrial area, but was of excellent value and was within a few blocks of the metro. The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms was outstanding; every single corner was clean and white, no yucky corners anywhere! The staff was friendly and helpful and always had glass pitchers of iced tea and lemon orange water when you entered the main lobby. There was no view to speak of; our view was of a back alley and low rooftops. There was no local grocery store or pastry shop nearby for quick breakfasts in the morning. However, we would return to this hotel because it was so clean and relatively inexpensive and located close to Cuitdella park and the La Born area of Barcelona.

Barcelona break

Location is excellent with good services around, the room (207) was clean and had a rustic feel. Would suggest anyone with a walking problem to avoid this as there are 68 steps to get to reception and the room level. At night it is lively around the area and hard to get to sleep, have the bin collections starting after the bars had closed.

Hotel locates in a quiet area, close to Metro station Bogell and within a walking distance to beach. Hotel room is spacious and clean. Staffs at reception and restaurant are very kind and have done very good service.

There is a night club nearby and if you like to sleep with the window open then you're going to be awoken when everyone departs. This is not the fault of the hotel but just something that you might want to consider.

Property was fine, easy access to 2 local metro routes into town, cool suburb

I was the companion of a disabled person. The room was spacious the shower accessible with a seat. The staff super helpful. Many good restaurants and transit stops nearby. The only downfall is the shuttle was an old rickety van but for the ame price or less there isa taxi stand just outside the hotel. But as the van did not belong tothe hotel but was a hire, i wont count that against them.

The hotel is ok. Not as good as ratings say. There is no air con and we were extremely hot in the room. There were no windows in the room or even a small one. This was very disappointing. I think it is quite over priced

Best hotel in Barcelona

I went with my friend. We stayed in twin beds and they were SO comfy and huge!! We loved it and you can tell its an expensive hotel. Cleanliness and location was perfect! Service was amazing, people at the till gave us a travel plug adapter for our use and boiling water when we needed it. Amazing place would recommend to EVERYONE!!!!!we were confused why it is classed as 3.5 star bcos it actually felt like 4/4.5 stars!!!

This property is off the beaten path but worth the stay if you want to be closer to the beaches instead of the center of town. An excellent restaurant just around the corner! The buffet breakfast that hotel was exceptional! We would definitely recommend this hotel.

The worst hotel experience ever. I stayed in many NH hotel around Spain but this is a ridiculous experience overall! At the day of check-in we've arrived at the property around 3.20pm. On reception we were told the room is not ready yet and we need to wait another 30-40 mins, altough the official check-in time is 3pm for the property. We said ok and left for lunch. When we back to the hotel we were given a room, when we could not stay: AC not working, windows blocked, room smelling weed, shower cap has been placed to the fire alarm - obviously someone has been smoking there. We phoned to reception but we were told that hotel is fully booked, however we were offered to pay 20 eur more to be upgraded to superior room. This is weird that receptionist tried to upsell us in this case. When we went to Google we found the hotel selling rooms for the 4 upcoming nights. We spent 1,5 hours to sort the situation out and after the conversation with the manager, we were given superior room. Thanks to the manager she understood that we cannot sleep in the room full of weed smell. Housekeeping didnt top up toileteries for us during 2 days, staying 4 nights we got 2 shower gels and 2 shampoos for 2 people. On the day 3 my friend didnt find her pijama. When we asked the recetion for the help nobody wanted to help us. We gave the hotel more than 12 hours to solve this and check all the towels taken from the room (perhaps pijama was taked with towel by mistake), but no resolution.
