This property is one of the very best in NYC and is in the heart of all the Times Square excitement. Can’t wait to come back.
Location
Loved the Glass elevators and The ability to overlook Times Square from the restaurant Windows. Didn’t love the sleeping accommodations. The bed sucked. Somehow ended up in a handicap room and the bed was low, too soft and extremely uncomfortable. Could be that we’re just very spoiled with a very good bed at home. The view from the room was amazing when the weather permitted. From the 36th floor, we could see the Hudson river and all the way across to New Jersey. If the bed had been better, we would’ve rated this the best hotel ever stayed in and we’ve stayed in upscale hotels around the world.
Great staff and stay
Excellent place to stay. You are right next to amazing theaters and restaurants. We felt safe at all times. The staff at the hotel were top notch. Would stay there again a million times over.
Some people may not like the glass elevators Fresh bites was only room service - thought was a deli type pick up for Destination fee.
Great property with great service.
Excelent location but property needs renovation .
Loved our stay . You will too !
The hotel is in a fabulous location for the experience of Times Square. The facilities were clean, well presented and staff were friendly. The room lacked easily accessible information for room service if you needed something before your day starts or late night once back. Overall a great property and location.
great and convenient overall. I expected a better rate for the additional two nights due to a flight cancellation and my family was stuck, but I didn't get any cost savings except for a waiver of the $40 fee. As a result my costs were overdone. But cleaners from vallee to waiters were great and polite and friendly. One front end hotel secretary was rude, a couple of Saturday night restaurant girls at the front entry desk were slightly rude. Overall, very good, spacious, convenient, fun for kids to run around.
Property is outdated. We had to have our ac blower replaced because of the horrible noise. Also a few times while having the sink faucet open water would turn dark brown. Disgusting!
Perfect hotel for our family of 5! The housekeeping staff is exceptional, the in room dining option saved us with 3 kids. It was the perfect location for walking everywhere and also getting to the subway to get everywhere else! We really enjoyed our stay and will absolutely be back.
This is always a great place to stay
My 3rd time at this hotel. I love the location the cleanliness, staff everything.
Loved the location ! So close to everything and the view lounge was amazing!
Loved everything except the $40.00 unknown charge for each room. Came with school district (budgeted) money so that became a person expense for all of us coming to the conference.
Fabulous Hotel!!!!! Clean and safety was the priority because it’s in Time Square.
Went during new years. It was busy. They didnt give us a special key to show on NYE so it was a slight inconvenience going thru security but other than that it was a nice stay.
Loved the location and the security. They also have nice dining options to choose from.
Great
Very nice stay
Very nice hotel. Very convenient location, walkable, great staff, all around fabulous.
We enjoyed our stay a lot. Super convenient location, clean, quiet, safe and great customer service.
General review
Friendly staff, nice rooms, and convenient location. Our room should have had a sitting chair in addition to the desk chair for evening relaxation. Food was good but not great considering the price. For example Our omelettes with bacon and spinach had only a few “ bacon bits” not bacon and very little spinach, the potatoes were over cooked and reminded us of heated frozen potatoes with a few bits of onions and peppers. Provide a drink menu for spirits.
Great location
The room is nice and spacious. Staff are friendly. But they charge a $40 Destination fee daily. If you charge something on room service or at their restaurant or bar, you get $40 credited back, but when I’m in NYC I don’t want to eat and drink at the hotel. So I got charged an additional $160 for my 4 night stay. Also, the hotel is so huge, with multiple points of exit and entry, so it took a long time to orient myself, depending on where I exited.
Very very awesome place to stay for any reason location is the best !
Love this property. Clean, great location, and great staff. Will stay here again.
10/10 everything was great.
2nd time staying. Enjoyed it abd will return again soon.
Excellent hotel staff and service!
Amazing location
Great stay and welcoming staff
The location is perfect. The property is clean and the beds and pillows are awesome!! I stay at this hotel each time I visit NYC.
Convenient
Great hotel
Perfect location and close to everything (Time Square)
Thank you for making my 40th perfect!
Girl Fun in the Big Apple
We were there for a quick getaway. My daughter and I brought my 2 young granddaughters (8 &6) to see Wicked and Bluey NYC Camp. We packed a lot in a short period of time, but they loved the hotel room, view and how pretty it all was. The hotel made their first trip experience to NYC a very memorable one as well as the need to repeat it.
I was over charged for my stay. They placed a $900 hold on my credit card when it was already paid for. I thought they were going to place a $100 hold as per their policy plus $40 for incidentals as per their policy. I was surprised they would do this. Further, my daughter’s sheets in 1752 were dirty and she got a bed bug bite on her leg and it turned into Cellulitis. Further, house keeping came knocking on the door at 9:30am when we had a late check out. Then again at 10:30am. I have stayed at so many wonderful Marriott properties and this was the worst experience my family had to endure. I’m still waiting for my $900 to “fall off” my credit card. I brought this up to management and all they did was apologize. They didn’t offer to fix it, credit my account… NOTHING!
New York, New York
Great location! Loved our stay!
This was my second stay. It lost a bit of the allure with 'The View' closed. I also didn't think the gym was amazing. Treadmill average, and no changing facilities/lockers. House keeping friendly but clearly overworked and didn't show until 5pm when I was trying to rest brfoe a night out. Coffee supplies not restocked until 1h after request. Late checkout not really granted only to then stand in the line for 45 min ...I mentioned my feelings at checkout and received a very modest credit (I'm sure it was all that the person was authorized to do for me). All this said, the location is great but next time I'll be in NYC I'll comparison shop a lot more.
Walking distance to most places
Very pleased with my experience. The hotel is near times square but it’s in a good and safe area. The hotel is really nice and extremely clean. Most attractions / restaurants are within walking distance. Definitely coming back! Would recommend anyone stay here if they are visiting NYC
Anti-luxury
No perks, no upgrades, no special treatment to platinum members. No possibility of extending my stay at the front desk. Rough, tuff, hard core receptionist. Laughed on us when we asked to extend the stay keeping Hotels.com price. Fun fact, it was the same price. Disappointed I ended finding half price in a web site called Super.com. This is what I call anti-luxury treatment. Summary: Instead win, win, win Marriott lost, Hotels.com lost, I lost (poor experience).
I forgot my Apple watch and Lourdes from security was amazing!! She found it and shipped it back!! Thank you so much!!! 😊
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Gave us an early check in. Gym is fantastic! Restaurant had good food. Right in the heart of Times Square with easy, walkable access to the subway and most Broadway shows. A will stay here again next time!
Great Location
The hotel was clean and nice in the middle of the action but the security deposit has not been refunded yet please hurry up
We requested a wake up call but never received the call despite calling and setting it up. As a result, we missed our appointment. What is the point of offering a service to your customers if it is not available?? Not a good look.
Great location
Close to broadway and museums. Great quality service and friendly staff
Front desk staff were very helpful and had our room ready early! One of the reasons I keep coming back to stay here when in Times Square.
Very clean and nice hotel.
Close to everything!
I left 2 nice sweaters in my room upon checkout. I almost immediately noticed and contacted the hotel. No one helped me locate and return my sweater. One of the employees even told me “ too bad, so sad”. They refused to ask the party that occupied the room right after me or the housekeeping staff who cleaned the room right after I checked if they had found my items left behind. Obviously, one of the two stole my nice sweaters and no one at Marriott made any effort to help me. Last time I stay here or any Marriot. Would rather stay at motel 8.
Great property, large rooms, but anything purchased at the property (food, convenience items, etc) definitely overpriced, even with the resort fee applied.
Awesome view! Great staff!
Close to theaters
I wish it had a wider menu selection.
Great location!
Amazing view, friendly staff, everything was perfect
The hotel was central to everything we wanted to visit. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Great stay!
very hood
Check in was slow. I had 2 rooms reserved and check in person kept saying he could see only 1. Took 20 min or so until he found the 2nd reservation.
Highly recommend! Close to absolutely everything. It’s the perfect location to have the best time and Times Square.
The service and staff are very friendly and professional
Good hotel, but the price of the rooms for the ball drop event does not merit it.
The location was everything. The room was spacious with great views… this was not an upgrade but the standard double queen bed room. 12 th floor. The elevators were very busy and a little confusing because the bank of elevators were in a horseshoe formation. For instance you may call for an up elevator at elevator a1 but it maybe elevator 11 around the corner the arrives for you. By the time you find the elevator going up… other people who were closer may get on or the door closes on you and you have to start the process again. That was the only issue. I was on the other side facing the Hudson River. But the hotel is part of the Time Square and surprisingly it was quiet in the restaurant that looks down on time square. The NYE ball is clearly visible from the restaurant When you walk out the door, to the left is Time square and to the right is broadway. Completely in the heart of it all. Perfect place to stay when you are doing the tourist attractions.
The elevators were quick, private and accurate!
Location
Staff was VERY accommodating. We were there visiting specifically to see our son on a billboard right outside of the hotel. I called in advance to ask for a room with a view overlooking his billboard. They were more than willing to make that happen! We arrived and everything went so smoothly from check in to check out. All staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and the hotel was beautiful. The restaurant onsite had great food and drink. If you’re staying in Times Square I definitely recommend this hotel!
Amazing hotel! We will go back for sure
I love that this hotel is right dead center of Times Square. It is easy access to all of your New York Destinations. Get yourself a view room for the New Year’s Eve ball drop. It was magical!
Not a great value for the price. Seemed like a typical hotel up-charges and fees scheme.
My wife and I stayed with our daughters and their families. In one room the sheets were stained with fecal matter which is disgusting and one morning at the restaurant I needed to go to the bathroom, and I opened a stall, and it was loaded with fecal matter again disgusting!!!!! Not the norm for a Marriott facility.
The atmosphere with quiet and clean rooms.
Too much smoke in the lobby area
I like it
Overall the hotel is nice. Central to the main attraction. Time square.
I was expecting more from a Marriot hotel. lines to check in are too long if they know is a peak season should have more staff available . It was near impossible to get someone from housekeeping or for services by phone I needed to walk down all time for whatever my need was.
We had a wonderful stay. Our room was very clean and cozy.
Very convenient with in walking distance to shopping,Dining and entertainment
Best hotel experience ever
The room is spacious and clean. The design of the guest room is fatastic with a lot of detailed considerations.
Best Hotel in Time Square
Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in while visiting NYC!! Location, service, cleanliness, beauty, city view….top notch!! Loved this hotel!
If you are staying in Times Square this is THE place to stay. It is perfectly located to take advantage of all the immediate sights of Times Square, has quick access to subways and is just blocks from a many theatres. It is the perfect spot for a NYC trip!!
Stayed for NYE - overpriced and dated
Besides the location being in the heart of Time Square, there is nothing special about Marriott Marquis at Time Square. It’s very crowded and our room is dated with minimal offerings - very basic coffee machine, almost nothing in the bathroom. Having just stayed at Conrad downtown NY, and paying over $1200 per night at Marriott because of the price hike due to NYE, Marriott does not feel like a 4 star hotel with just most basic amenities. I understand due to their location, they don’t really to pour money to modernize the hotel but I think I won’t stay there next time even if I want stay close to the bell drop because the room and their party won’t offer you live view of the ball drop. I still ended up paying an arm and leg with a restaurant nearby but they at least offer escorting their guests to live view of ball drop. I could really have saved money if I just paid for that dinner.
Food was very good. Gift shop was nice --- slow to get checked in --- they need more reservation agents. Very crowded but good staff and good restaurant. Good location ----
Great property
Mom and Daughter getaway!
Mom and Daughter getaway!
I'm coming back here every time I come to New York
It was a very customer service oriented hotel with a friendly staff !! Very clean and nice rooms ! Beautiful property , great food and right in Times Square . I could not of been happier and I think a place to stay now when I come visit my nephew . They did a great job for me and it's a beautiful hotel on top of quality service and I'm hard to impress . I'm hard on hotels and hard to get a good review out of me ! Great job to the marquis !
Highly recommend this hotel!! Close to everything!!!
It was close and walking distance to the Broadway district, Radio City and shopping but the hotel was crowded and very minimal no water in the room, noisy and the towels were thin. The restaurants were ok we ate at other restaurants. It was good for families with kids.
It’s just very dirty on the outside of the building
Transportation near.

Great location, very handy and central. Huge hotel with a lot of conference and group guests, who tend to take over public spaces unfortunately. But the rooms are a good size and it is very convenient.
