Me and my family spent a great time in Neptuno hotel! The service was great, food delicious, short distance to the beach and perfect swimming pool! Will definitely recommend.
The amenities in the add had free wifi, but you had to pay for it. Not impressed at all
Lovely hotel
Wonderful hotel. Room was a little tired and not how it was pictured on Hotels.com but very clean, pleasant staff, good drinks and food. Hotel is right on the beach. Would stay again!
I did not like the restaurant/dining room. It felt, and sounded, like a school cafeteria. No effort made to remove dishes/plates quietly. At best, perhaps more of an effort could be made at dinner. Perhaps with lower lighting.
Rude staff, small resort
This place reminded me of a summer camp for old people. Everyone was old and everyone ate at once in the same food hall. The staff was so rude. Got screamed at for bring food to another table outside that was not in the restaurant because it was packed and COVID is still a thing if they didn’t know. I got yelled at like a child in front of all the others guests like I was supposed to make you couldn’t take food out to eat at other tables. Also it was very boring here. We stayed at the Star Beach Resort before that and it was amazing compared to this place.
The rooms and property were clean but the experience was not what we expected… had to pay extra for safe, towels had to leave a deposit and only be pickup at a certain time … many little things that didn’t make us feel confortable. Maybe not for us, the staff was nice and property clean.
Great food, great location, beach is nice needs more lounge chairs.
This is an excellently located and priced hotel. Right on a beautiful beach that is minutes by taxi to Heraklion or Knossos. I generally do not like all-inclusive, but circumstances forced. Food was what seemed standard for this level. For food, there are 2 wonderful restaurants right next door for fresh fish - I recommend Blanco highly. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Cleaning crew was diligent. Only 2 negatives for me: no espresso on the property, just horrible cafe American. And they do not take American Express. This could have been a big problem but I happened to have another card loaded in my phone. I realize many places in Europe don’t like to deal with AmEx but it should be prominently displayed somewhere - especially when I used AmEx to pay Orbitz. (There are other fees to pay for on arrival - somehow local taxes are not included or disclosed by Orbitz, but that is another discussion).
Last minute stay
We booked this last minute for a night as the ferry was on strike. Best service you will ever receive. The staff are amazing and make up for the fact that this is a 4 star. Amenities are all there, great beach. Only issue was that the air conditioning didn’t really work as well in the room.
Good but not great
We stayed for 4 nights as a family of 3. Staff was friendly. There were nice planned activities throughout the day. Nice sandy beach! Good variety of food, all inclusive meals and drinks. Unfortunately, our toilet was kind of broken or just difficult to flush. The pool closes too early:(
The hotel room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The property is right on the beach with a beautiful pool that has ocean views. The all inclusive plan includes budget meals (breakfast was quite good) and a pretty good selection of cocktails. We'r found it to be a great value. Would definitely stay again!
Fantastic Staff
Fantastic Staff Can't do enough for you. Rooms Good, Food average, Location fair Value for money yes
good, but not special
comfortable stay, great shower
This property had a nice location near the beach but overall we were not impressed with the rooms, amenities or helpfulness of the staff.
Nice Overall Stay
The hotel was clean and presentable. The room was very tidy and was located right next to the pool. The night we stayed there was some activies on the pool deck until about 10pm which was pretty loud, but was not that big of a deal. We usually would be out their having fun except we had a long flight and needed the rest. The food and drinks were good as well. Would certainly recommend for future stays.
A little touristy
The only issue we had was that there was a terrible sewer like smell coming from the bathroom. Great place for the rate. Eating choices were a bit lacking. Buffet or bust....
interrogated by staff
It was going well until I was approached by the hotel manager in the middle of reception to ask 'why I was not satisfied with check-in' it felt like interrogation. Looking back, the ground were nice but the food and drink completely inedible - we had to go out to buy our own soft drinks as their cheap unbranded soft drinks tasted like floor cleaner
Everything at your doorstep
No need to leave all inclusive means exactly that all food and drinks worth the money
Excellent hotel!
Nothing bad at all to say about this hotel!! A very enjoyable stay! We arrived very late around 1am and the staff had kept us some dinner which was hugely appreciated and a very nice gesture. Pool and beach area both excellent, staff very friendly and polite. The food was of great quality with a lot of different choices. I would 100% stay here again!
Nice hotel close to the beach, great option
It is a great hotel! The food is excellent, the people at the hotel is so nice and kind, and the price is really convenient.
Fantastic spot for a solo traveller! THANKS
As a solo traveller it was a perfect place to stay. From the moment I arrived to checking out - the staff were very friendly. I choose an all inclusive because the weather was not meant to be that great for 3 days so what better way to not have to leave your hotel/resort. The food was fantastic for buffet and the alcohol was on tap! You are provided a free 15 minute massage and you know that they are so good you want more so i booked myself a 50 minute massage for e50 and due to the rain we had to use an actual room (they have a massage tent normally on the beach). The day i was leaving as it was 26 degrees - the swimming pool and beach was very busy (I wondered where all these people just appeared from as even with the mini rain spells it was still warm) Highly recommend.
Very Disappointing
My daughter and I arrived to the hotel and were shown to our room. The room was very small and very dark and dingy. I do have to say that we did have a full view of the sea which was very nice. I went to the front desk and asked if we good possibly get a room that was a little larger. I do have to say that the gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful and polite. He proceeded to show us another room which was slightly bigger. My biggest complaint is that the room looked very tired. The tiling on the floor was cracked in several places and had stains embedded in it. Also the curtains in the room had various stains on them. Even if the room was cleaned it left an impression of being dirty. Rooms definitely need to be upgraded. Next the buffet. It did have a variety of items but we were both disappointed in the quality of the food. One day at lunch I was eating a Greek salad and bit into a tomato. There must have been a small pebble or something in the tomato. It ended up getting logged in one of my teeth, which I cracked and I had a mouthful of grit. This was totally disgusting. Turned me right off. Ended up going into town for dinner for the remainder of my stay and I was very selective as to what I ate at the buffet.
Exceptional food
Food and service was exceptional. The Chef was very cordial and inviting as was his cooking staff. The service staff at meals and bar were of the most accomodating nature. Staff and administration are united in providing a most comfortable experience. Highly recommend this hotel. See you next year.
Disregard any negative reviews from the past. They almost put us off booking. Arriving with fingers crossed, we were absolutely delighted with the hotel. Location- just along the coast from Heraklion, it is easy to access the capital by bus but yet you also have the beach and holiday town of Ammoudara. There is a direct bus to the airport and Knossos, making it ideal for a stay in Crete. The hotel is cleaned to extremely high standards. The staff seem to continually be wiping surfaces and the cleaning staff do a very thorough job. The pool and beach are ideal, and we didn’t have to worry about rushing to put towels on loungers. All staff are hard working and come across as a good team. Arriving at 11pm, food had been kept for us and a number of useful points shared e.g. market day. The staff were very informative; on asking a question Matheos gave us a map of Heraklion and an outline of where to go. Perfect for a relaxing and stress free holiday, but with plenty to do and see nearby.
Excellent
When first arriving you may be forgiven for thinking you've made a mistake. The surrounding area is somewhat run down and badly in need of some TLC. That said the resort itself is a gem. Beautifully clean and quiet with friendly and extremely helpful staff. The food was of a good quality and variety. The rooms while a little on the small side are perfectly comfortable.
Perfect location on beach and very close to City
Great hotel, perfect location on beach and short bus ride into Heraklion for Knossos and the two museums. Resort is fairly quiet with a handful of bars and restaurants which suited us fine. Very clean and hotel staff are lovely and very friendly. Rooms are quite basic and a little outdated but that's the only downside I can think of! All in all, a perfect place to stay and would highly recommend.
Nice Hotel close to beach & Pool
Enjoyed our stay. We had an all inclusive 8 day 7 night stay and it was well worth it. We have 2 lil ones 3 & 1 and they too also had a blast!!!
Lovely Hotel Next to the Beach
On arrival to the Hotel I found it just as the pictures showed. The staff were so friendly, the hotel was lovely and clean, I enjoyed my holiday because of these things.
Nice hotel by the beach
Very good location, 10-15 minutes by taxi from the airport, 5-10 minutes to Heraklion and the port. It's located on a lovely sandy beach. The sea is clean (no sea urchins as some people have wrongly mentioned) and protected by reefs. Lovely view of the mountains around the hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is nice and varied although the menu is a bit repetitive.
Herakilion all inclusive
The hotel is nice the rooms need some updating. Service is very good food is substantial but not always the best wine is vinegar but they are cooking for the masses. The entertainment misses the mark by a long shot most people leave once it starts.
5th year Are stay was excellent, staff r the best
We truly enjoy this hotel the food is plenty the staff are the greatest, the room is always clean and ample for what you need, tv, DVD, AC, fridge, tea making, facility with mugs + glasses
Great for our week
I travelled with my 11 year old son and although this was not the hotel I orginally planned to book I am glad I made the switch. This hotel was fine for the two of us for a week. It is situated on a perfectly pleasant/clean beach with ample free sunbeds everywhere. Our room had a fridge which we kept stocked with water, etc visiting either of 2 minimarkets in the same street. We had a pool/seaview room with balcony; some of the other rooms didn't seem to have much outlook and we felt fortunate to have our room. A TV was an irrelevance other than a brief AM and PM check-in with Euronews for headlines. Nothing else in English anyway. The room was kept very clean (serviced daily; not Sundays) and air conditioning functioned well. The downside of our room was the shower (no bath) had to be hand held as would not remain in its bracket - the tray filled quickly so it became a challenge to shower and keep floor dry. More of an issue for me than my son! The restaurant was absoluetly fine: always free tables, very friendly/helpful (and good-looking!) staff and great food offering something for every palate/diet, if a little on the bland side if you like spicy food. Plenty of chocie and plenty of food. Wine (red/white) quite drinkable. I preferred the white as found the chilled red a little too dry. The pool bar served other decent drinks/snacks through the day. Buses/taxis easily accessible for travel further afield - not much nearby. We enjoyed our week and met some lovely people.
Freundliches Personal, gutes Essen, sauberes Zimmer.
Family friendly, well located.
Consigliato
Such a welcome! The people running this hotel are very friendly. I visited end of October with my 10y daughter. She could play in the kids club twice a day (except Wednesday) and has a little kids disco in the evening. There isn’t much to do in the resort so this is a ‘quiet, relaxing holiday’ the beach area behind the hotel was lovely. If you want any ‘life’ Heraklion is 15min cab away for €14 with lots of shops and restaurants. I loved this holiday.
