Vancouver stay
I had a very peaceful and comfortable stay at the hotel. It was clean and offered coffee and tea. I came to visit relatives so a clean comfortable bed was at the top of my list and they delivered on that.
It was quiet, and the room had everything I needed.
Affordable gem
This place is a lovely affordable gem and I would definitely stay here again when visiting Vancouver. It's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood that is fairly close to great restaurants on Main Street and Queen Victoria Park. The hotel is very clean and the decor created a nice ambiance. The room, shared bathroom, and common spaces were thoughtfully organized to make for a comfortable stay. The bed was cozy and just the right amount of cush.
The home was very clean and quiet, and the facilities were pleasant and in good working order. The furniture and fixtures were of good quality. The neighborhood is in a quiet family area with plenty of street parking. The bed was adequate but not the most comfortable—this is my only complaint. I will come again.
2nd time staying here. Loved it!
Loved staying here ! Very cozy
Place was beautiful, clean, in safe area
Quiet area
Nicely organized, clean, big kitchen
I loved having option to cook in the kitchen as well as using the laundry room.
Very nice, clean place to stay.
The staff is really helpful. And the room is perfect for this price. I can’t really imagine we have such a nice house located in such a traffic convince area with such a lower price. This is definitely my one and only choice in Van area
Really enjoyed the stay, convenient and comfortable.
Absolutely fantastic stay! Everything was excellent - cleanliness, staff, facilities, and the surrounding area. Highly recommend!
safe, quiet and convenient location, very clean
Great price for the location. Nice neighbourhood.
The room and home were tastefully appointed. The area was quiet and safe. It was near a bus line and the bus line could take you to the sky train. Thwre was plenty to see and do. The only negative was the bed was a little hard for our tastes.
Very clean and quiet area, close to a nain route but 3ish blocks in so you hear no noise. Close to the best donut shop ever. Duffin's donuts.
A lovely house in a beautiful part of Vancouver. For the money you pay to stay there it's a steal. Very quiet and perfectly safe area to be in. Short walk to stores and restaurants. King Edward station for city and airport around 1.5 miles, which I was happy to walk to. Can get 25 bus if you don't fancy it. Place was covered in snow the whole time I was there, creating a truly chocolate box feel. Would recommend without hesitation.
Very interesting decor :) staff and room were very nice
This was a great choice for staying in Vancouver. The facilities were clean and well maintained and everything was always full and topped up. The walls are a little thin which allows sound to travel easily so I do strongly suggest traveling with ear plugs or a white noise machine. Fairly close to public transit and about a $25 Uber from downtown depending on time of day. Walkable to grocery stores and a few shops which also take you along a road with a wonderful view of the mountains.
Great service for the cost. There was a timely response and resolution of issues. The staff were very friendly. The facilities are new and well kept. I will definitely come again as well I would recommend the property.
I was impressed with the forethought and attention to detail shown in how the property is set up and managed. Was like a good quality B&B without the breakfast. Who needs breakfast (or any other in-house meal) with the huge restaurant selection in Vancouver?? Well located and close to many events and things Vancouver has to offer.
House was absolutely gorgeous even though it was so affordable. Management was incredibly easy to work with and accommodating. Will stay here any time I'm in Vancouver.
This is a cozy place in a very nice neighborhood. Super friendly and the room was beautiful. Fiffy comfy bed and great little snacks. I would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in the area.
Very quiet!
Easy checkin in a VERY quiet neighborhood. The house itself was also very quiet, the bed was comfy, Heat/AC were silent, and the temperature in the room was perfect. I had probably the best sleep I've ever had in a hotel, and the cost was the cheapest by far when compared to others. Only gripe is that it is a shared bathroom situation, though I actually didn't see anyone other than myself using it.
Definitely wasn’t what I expected. Exceeded expectations.
Stayed there for about a week. Check-in was easy and smooth. There's a grocery store walking distance away making it convenient to get food for longer stays. A couple different bus lines have nearby stops allowing easy access to downtown and other parts of the city.
It was a great experience. This place is budget-friendly, clean, and very comfortable.
Location and setup
This accommodation was superb for cleanliness and decor. Our room had a balcony. The technology - lighting and hvac unit and locks - was very high tech. The kitchen was huge with everything you would want to cook a large meal and there was a large dining room table for dining. We walked to a street with restaurants. Parking is on the street but we had a spot easily. The bathroom was very large amazingly updated and clean and there was no one next door so we didn't have to share.
The architecture and interior design of the house inside out are elegant. It seems like a super nice AirBnB place. Good amenities with laundry room, living room and kitchen. Street parking turned out not an issue because it is a quiet neighborhood. The only minor complaint is that the room could be a bit hot. It has AC but the control is not working well. Otherwise it is a pleasent surprise.
vancouver
It was confusing at check-in. The guests share a bathroom but the home was clean. Parking was easy.
Very nice,clean, quiet
An unusual take on a hotel, this travellers "hostel" is easily accessible, great bed and linens, clean and unique. We would definitely stay again!
Very smooth checkin. Room nicely setup with very comfy bed. Beats most hotels at triple the cost. Shared bathrooms (2) but never had an issue with access or cleanliness. Would stay again.
All was beyond what i expected! 5 star Thank you Perry Duquette
We didn't book a place to stay for the night as we planned to just head straight home after our appointments' done. Unfortunately, we were not able to tie things up, so we ended up frantically looking for an affordable yet safe and comfortable place to stay. It was a last minute booking! Thankfully Charlo of Neocolonial Nouveau Kensington has been nothing but amazing. He was very understanding and accomodated our requests. It was a very pleasant experience for us and we would definitely be back on our next Vancouver visits! Highly recommended!
Love all the amenities on this property , the free sodas , water and snacks . Kitchen is available fir personal cooking . Our room has a small fridge and a jet tub. Property is well- decorated in neo- classic design . Manager responds promptly . The only things I didn’t like is getting luggage upstairs , we have to leave suitcases downstairs . No room available downstairs . Water in our bathroom is always hot , can’t regulate temperature. Location is about 15-20 minutes to downtown.
Great staff
We were not able to see that much of Vancouver, as we were not feeling well. But our bed was so comfortable!
Beautiful property. Suited my needs perfect for a solo traveler. I enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend this place.
Large, impeccably decorated, and clean vacation home for our stay in Vancouver, BC. Would stay here again! Thanks for the great stay.
Good place to stay, only the shared bathroom locker is not working properly.
Loved the shower. The rain type shower head is the best. Bed was comfy . A/c was perfect Thank you
Very accommodating
We had a fantastic experience at this lovely home. The neighborhood is nice, clean and quiet. Very close to downtown.
Very painless and clean
I must admit, I tend to take 5-star reviews, especially when there are hundreds of them, with a grain of salt. However, Neocolonial Nouveau Kensington truly turned out to be a wonderful place to stay and deserves all the praise highlighted in its numerous reviews! It's located in Kensington-Cedar Cottage (East Vancouver), which feels like a midtown area—just a short trip to downtown, less than 30 minutes by bus—yet the neighborhood itself is quiet, serene, and incredibly well-kept, almost like a little toy town! You will need to walk quite a bit or use public transportation. The nearest café is about a 20-25 minute walk away. But the tranquility here is unmatched! My room's windows faced the backyard, offering peace and beauty. The guest house itself is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for daily life! The kitchen has all types of dishes, appliances, a full-size fridge, and an oven with a stove. Everything is well thought out, right down to zip-lock bags of various sizes. I stayed in the Royal Room, on the first floor. I shared the bathroom and kitchen/dining area with another guest, but during my 5-day stay, I barely saw or heard them. I must specifically mention the impeccable cleanliness of the bathroom and kitchen. It seems like they are cleaned multiple times a day. If I visit Vancouver again, it will definitely be to Neocolonial Nouveau Kensington! It couldn't be better! Thank you to the hosts for their hospitality and comfort!
Great spot with lots of thoughtful touches!
Will be staying here again, next time I am in Vancouver. It is less than 20 minutes away from downtown, You can enjoy a brisk walk to Queen Elizabeth Park from here as well. The room was clean and as described.
Loved it!
Our stay was excellent. The hygiene products smelled amazing. We used the kitchen for breakfast daily. I was super impressed by the organization of every room. The host was super helpful and quick to respond. I will definitely be booking here again.
Beautiful house! Loved my room
I recently had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Neocolonial. The house is nicely appointed and warmly decorated. The location is in a residential area, family oriented, safe and quite, with ample parking on the street, easy access to public transportation, and local restaurants. The bed is super comfortable with soft quality sheets. Bathroom was clean, well decorated and adequately stuck. The door to the bathroom was literally one step away from my room. I appreciated the hotel grade finishes and facilities. For example, the rain shower or the zinc sink or the absorbent thick towels. My room had a small fridge and freezer, a desk, a balcony, and a closet, all added lots of comfort and convenience. If you would choose to cook, the kitchen has all the space and all the tools and appliances you might need. There is a spacious fridge freezer in the kitchen where shelves are marked with your room number. You also have marked shelf space in the cabinets. An assortment of coffees and teas are available to you to enjoy. I loved the quiet homey feeling at the Neocolonial whether it was spending time in my room relaxing, watching TV, or having coffee and a chat in the nicely decorated living room. The room overlooks a gorgeous street full of flowering trees, a short walk to the bus station, and a short car ride to local restaurants. If you are looking for all the comforts of a hotel but all the warmth and safety of a home, you should try Neocolonial.
This is a nice stay. Its very quiet and comfortable.
I travelled for business. I booked a room that have my own washroom. So, it is like a hotel. What I liked the most was the kitchen. They have everything that I needed for cooking. I also appreciated the fact that they would let me stay in the room and the common area till I need to leave, which was around 2pm. The host was very kind and reacted to my request quickly and well. This is a place that I would recommended to other travellers.
I was greeted when I arrived and got a few messages asking if I needed anything during my week long stay. Whoever was in charge of cleaning was like a swift ghost. Never seen but everything was clean. The decor is beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked except for forks were hard to come by. Each room has a special place in the fridge, cupboard, and bathroom. I do wish there were more hooks for each room in the bathrooms. I noticed that I wasn’t the only one who usually forgot to bring the hand towel into the room. The people from the other room were using a lot of toilet paper to dry hands. It seemed like a waste. Personalized hooks for hand towels might curb that. Location is a few blocks from busses and very convenient if you have a car. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was a little on the warm side but as it’s winter, opening a window helped a lot. I would absolutely stay here again.
Very great place to stay!
Interesting concept, excellent if you are travelling alone
If you are looking for a quite place to stay and make your own food, please book this property, very nice kitchen and cooking utensils. I really enjoyed my stay.
The overall theme around the house was very aesthetic and beautiful. not to mention the motion sensored lights and beautiful art work ! 10/10 would stay here again!
So unique and cozy bedroom.
Cozy, quiet little refuge on a busy weekend
A convenient location in a quiet residential neighborhood. It's a shared space with a shared living area and bathroom. the bedroons are comfortable. It would e ideal for two couples to share. The only drawback is the heat is set for the entire space and not controllable for the individual bedrooms.
Quiet, clean, private and professional
The hotel was converted from a house, each room has passcode lock installed. When you check in, you will be provided code for the main entrance plus your own room, so the whole process was very private. The bathrooms are shared, but they are stocked with personal care products. The room is very clean with two sets of towels, a bunch of pillows, and snacks provided by the host. 5/5 would stay there again.
It was extremely easy to check in, the place was quiet and comfortable. The carpets held a smell, the room was not cleaned well before our check-in. There were a half opened can of Pringles on our welcome tray, a bottle of vitamin d under our bed and the tv stand was so dusty we wrote "clean" with our finger
WE arrived late at night so the House was a little Bit difficult to find in the DARK and also finding the Key Pad..... and after finally Being in bed there was a fire Alarm at 6.30 in the morning. So WE only spent about 6 hours there andcouldn't really enjoy the beautiful House.
Easy parking. Unique rooms
Wonderful Hidden Gem
What a beautiful home! The room was cozy, yet wonderfully decorated. The bed was luxurious, nice clean bathroom with eco-friendly products, a nice little snack and free water/sodas/coffee were available at no extra charge. I got the deluxe room with private bathroom. I texted with the owner, as I hadn't received the door code, and he was more than helpful. Would stay again!
It worked out very well for us. Very comfortable.
Really liked the vibe. Instructions to access laundry conflicted with what I saw: I didn’t see (or had trouble finding) a number pad anywhere to access the laundry room, so I didn’t get any laundry done. Enjoyed my stay!
Restful oasis
Great place!! Our room, as well as the common areas, were elegantly appointed and comfortable. Quiet, family friendly area. Lots of street parking. I didn’t have access to email before arriving so I missed the note about check in/out procedures. But the staff was very accommodating via Ring doorbell and text (once I was able to log into their wifi). It’s very simple, really.
Amazing stay! Very comfortable bed, great coffee selection, clean and very warm and welcoming. Beautifully decorated with lots of character.
I loved how quiet the whole property was. It was spacious, cozy, and had everything we needed.
The room was lovely and very comfortable. Great coffee and welcoming treats provided.
