A lovely garden leading directly to the beach. Each room with its own small balcony.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location. The rooms are outdated and old, there is no hair dryer, coffermaker, blankets, extra towels and iron in the rooms, service is so so. Next time i will def stay at Merril's, its a much better hotel for the same price.
Loved it! Beach was wonderful
Property is ok. Meals are reasonably priced. TVs don't work and wifi is intermittent.
Quiet place to chill and the workers are hospitable
This is a lovely, low-key resort. Great by itself for a quiet getaway, and we love it as a “day-before” and “day-after” destination when visiting one of the larger, louder resorts.
Cute hotel. Our room wasn't swept it had sand everywhere the first night, no hand soap but I bought one. The beach is amazing thanks to Chicky but people would reserve their beach chairs and not come out till 12pm or 1pm which is not fair.
Think twice before staying
The stay was okay. When I first arrived, the young guy thought it was funny when I had to walk to the front office to find out why i had to wait two hours for my bags to arrive to my room. I noticed some Locals checking in the young guy stated once he finishes helping them, he would bring the bags to my room. I was annoyed so i requested my bags and i took them to the room myself. then i had to walk back to the front to notify them that the tv wasn't working and l just wanted to relax in my room. I was a little annoyed with the front desk staff when i shared my concern regarding the tv not working and the hot water handle was broken, and the bathroom light kept flickering it would not fully turn on, I felt as though i was in the dark at a club. The front office told me that someone would be to my room to fix everything and that never happened. I am a travel agent, and I frequent Negril looking for places to accommodate my clients and I'm sure if I'm happy with this place. This is the second time I've stayed at this location and been disappointed with the staff as well as the food preparation. The food is not recommended at this location. its best to buy off the property. But the overall design of the rooms is amazing the bed is very comfy. Just need better office staff and cooks
I had a problem with my shower, not enough blankets and it was noisy. The beachfront was okay but not enough beach lounge chairs for the guest
We arrived and there were no towels in our room, many drawers broken/unusable and we were right next to cafe/bar so it was extremely loud from noon to the middle of the night. Hot water was intermittent during our six day stay. We however loved the comfort of the bed/pillows.. we liked the bug netting as we realized it was much needed. We loved the jungle lush landscaping and the proximity of the hotel to various activities and eateries, the closeness to the beach, the great transfer service and tours. We loved going out on day excursions with Audly and Milford. They made our trip extra special. Overall it has met our expectations and likely will stay here again but plan to bring earplugs or noise cancelling headphones next time.
I did not like that the rooms were not very clean and especially the bathroom wasn’t very clean and it smelled bad I had to change rooms the receptionist was not very friendly.
I loved the Palms
Great spot on 7 mile beach. Staff is great especially Legion the bar tender and Dana. The beach guys are good too (Nasif, Omarion and Shemar). Restaurant and a pool overlooking the beach.
Nice room, limited tv channel too many junk in the front due to remodeling, not enough parking for guest
The hotel was nice. Property beautiful close to the beach. The only issue was the bed was hard and the room was not very sound proof. Overall it was fine for the price.
Run down, minimal amenities hot water intermittent. Excellent breakfast. Would not. Stay again
Property has lots of potential. Located on the beach with a pool. Friendly staff, ok bar, limited but good restaurant. Good size rooms. Out Tv was new but didn’t work. AC gave problems. Difficult to regulate hot water temperature. No tea or coffee in rooms. Good size rooms, comfortable bed. Advertises discount for marathon weekend for pasta meals and we did not get the discount. No compensation for not working TV or AC issue. Front desk person was not helpful at getting that issue resolved. Housekeeping and kitchen staff were professional and friendly. Able to get last minute massages which was great. Property was priced a little high for what it offered.
Property is located in a nice section of the beach, water and pool are are beautiful. Bar is nice but a bit too quiet. Some music would be nice. Upon check in we were given a room near the front to the office. Since the property is currently under reservation, we had to deal with workmen starting at 8:30 in the morning, and staff leaving after midnight with children were very noisy, unware of waking up the guests. At check in K---a told us the hold on our card would be $100 US. At checkout, J--- realised that the hold on our card was not at $200 which I didn't take to kindly. Also, the beds only have a very light sheet on, so we requested blankets to sleep with the AC. None were sent the first night. The second night I had to intercept the lady cleaning the room, who brought them over. First night also, no hot water to bathe. We have to intercept the workman the 2nd night to make sure the heater was turned on to maximum to enjoy a hot bath. The food service was kind of slow, but was presentable. Overall, I will not be returning, but the next guest might have a better experience.
Love it
Make you feel like home very quiet very peaceful very nicefamily
That property should not be rented while renovation is being done. The dust on the property got be very sick. Was told that there was Wi-Fi and TV non was working. For the 1st two days the kitchen did not work. Also, there was no hot water to take a bath for three days. Contruction material all-round as a leave my room. I need to know what going to be done about this situation. Thanks
Nice small resort.
The hotel is in an overgrown jungle like setting, but it is clean and, although not a new resort it seems to be a work in progress. There was no hot water during our four day stay and, although advertised as having TV, it too did not work for the four days. The restaurant is quaint. Breakfast was acceptable; the dinner menu, with Jamaican selections as well as others, was very good and reasonably priced. The small but stocked bar has an incredible bartender at night (Legion). Its pool, close to its beach area was nice & clean.
First time staying here. We liked the property, nice lush gardens, nice layout to the hotel/bar/restaurant. The bar was quiet, no one but us there. The bartender made us some of the best drinks we’ve had anywhere in Negril. We enjoyed the sunset from the bar before going to dinner. We only stayed 1 night as we were celebrating a birthday, we have a home in the country and wanted to be at the beach. My complaints - no hot water! A trickle of water in both the faucet and shower. Very annoying! 1 bath towels and 1 face cloth per person. No hand towel at all. Patio furniture was dirty.
I have never had to write such a review. This property is under major construction and they are working on Jamaican Time. Be Aware....This property will not be operational come the Winter Season. Hot water on 3 out of 10 days. Property is absolutely filthy from the construction. Upon checkout they attempted to charge us for food and beverages we had not put on our room tab but had paid for in cash. Beach was not kept clean, trashed remained overflowing the trash can for 7 days. Life guard spent most of his day on his phone, would not rake the beach, would not put up the umbrellas and you had to beg for beach towels. The rooms that are available are in poor condition. Water pressure is no existent, doors don't function properly, some rooms A/C were not funtioning, TV's not functioning. The only thing that is keeping the lights on is the staff. They were warm and kind and did the best they could with litle they had to work with.
Safe clean environment with great staff
The resort was full of construction workers and their machinery, smoke from a trash fire filled our room, staff wasn’t helpful & said nothing about the amenities to us. We had to ask for them to show us the way to the room. Construction workers were loud, swearing & not mindful of guests. The walkways were so overgrown that we were struck by plants on the whole pathway. We ended up leaving for it was an unsafe & undesirable. Staff were not honest about the state of the Resort.
So fun to hear the tree frogs
Improvement needed on the hot water set up. Not hot water throughout the day is unacceptable. Improvement needed.
Need to sell property to me
I have stayed at this hotel (not resort) multiple times since 2015. I have tried to give them the benefit of doubt since they were trying to improve with renovations. BUT year after year same song different verse. NEVER ENDING CONSTRUCTION!!! A week’s stay dealing with poor internet at the property in general, in your room, common areas, etc. I even picked up WiFi from other surrounding hotels while on the beach in front of Negril Palms but couldn’t pick up Negril Palms**go figure. No hot water or low pressure cold water, TV didn’t work in my friend’s room. Replaced with another TV which the sound didn’t work properly- they never fixed that by the way. Holes in sheets, bedspread, ragged towels and old hand soap that did not smell nice. Noisy workers early in the morning talking loud or dragging their feet (literally) without respect for guests. Dining room-they are always out of something they have on the menu and don’t substitute or make concessions for the missing item. I was actually served brown home fries and a scorched omelette which was to include peppers and onions however there were no peppers insight. I mean did you really think that was presentable?? They don’t care, you just have to deal with the short comings- damn there’s a grocery store across the street! Even though I was told the hotel has new owners and the manger was very nice. This happens to be my Last time staying there. I think the price exceeds the accommodations at this property.
We have stayed at this hotel for the last 6 or 7 years, but this time was the last straw! My room did not have a working tv, they changed it out but that tv's sound system didnt work, I notified the front desk and they kept saying they were going to have it fixed but never did! Next most days there was no hot water! Next the internet didnot work in the common areas, nor in the rooms at the back of the hotel. We will be looking for other accommodation for our trip next year!!!
Save your vacation- stay somewhere else
- no hot water - no AC - but also no glass on windows so it wouldn’t cool the room much anyway - no WiFi in room - had to walk toward front to get WiFi (as a side note, WiFi passwords were provided handwritten on tiny slips of cut paper, one per device) - dirty- mildew in show stall and bugs in bed side table drawer - power went out briefly twice - front reception area is dark and unwelcoming with boxes stacked everywhere Called office to ask about hot water, AC and WiFi and no one showed up, though they said they were sending someone. At checkout I asked why no one came- they said they did send someone- but we never left the room and nothing changed. The next morning we couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
The stay was pleasant, however, I was disappointed that there were no coffee pot or kettle in the room.
Checked-in late. Gateman was quick and pleasant. Someone was at front desk. Check in was quick. Got the room i wanted ...few guests, renos were in full.swing but not disruptive. Room clean. Grounds clean. Room service offered. ..they came.by after for a tip...maybe that's customary across Negril .but im used to tipping after my entire stay and i do believe gratuities were includeded. Breakfast was good. Service was good too. Pool clean. Beach clean and had anchored floats. My only complaints was that no fans were in the dining area which made breakfast uncomfortable in the heat..also the safe in our room was broken. Will stay again!
They did not change our bedsheets. Garbage was not picked up . I asked the lady at 7:30 am for a toilet tissue and she told me someone already there at 10:30 , then at 2:30 I need the toilet tissue and after 10 times of calling ,that’s the only time the girl at the counter came . We ordered food at 8:26 am didn’t serve it until 9:45. Terrible
When arriving, at first thought hotel was closed because there were about 25 large clear bags of bedding or something piled up blocking the lobby entrance .Room was clean and air con worked well. However, there were: no light bulbs in the lamps, no shampoo in shower, no clock, no phone, no coffee maker, bed had bottom and top sheets but no bedspread or blanket, no ice bucket or access to ice, TV had only a few local channels, wifi required 4 different passwords (one for each device), bar on site was deserted but they did make us a couple of burgers. On departure, they were unable to call us a taxi and we had to call a friend at another hotel to arrange a taxi.
The nature outside of the room was beautiful especially waking up to it every morning. The beach was divine and on the property.
The staff here is so unfriendly- I can go yo Negril tree house and get a real blended fresh fruit drink. All they have at Negril palms is syrup. I do not want sugar cheap syrup, I want the real fruit. They didn’t change the bed sheets for 3 days.. Annette is the only good house keeper and Kevin the cook. If they want to succeed they need to make some big changes and stop trying to CHEAP OUT. MAYBE NEW MANAGEMENT IS NEEFED. The life guards are always on their phones when I come out to get towels, you would think they would see my coming and get beach towels.. nope have to go ask. I did have a nice massage from Monique. Really I would have spent more money with fresh fruits and better chefs, they should put Kevin in the kitchen full time … the pancakes we ordered were a joke. So we went other places to eat unless Kevin was there!!!!
I liked that it was on the beach the rooms were nice especially the restrooms. Wish the room had a microwave but everything was excellent
😎
😎
Stay here for many years, friendly staff nice rooms homey
Thankful
This was a quick stop over for a night as secured and friendly place to rest my head. apart from low water pressure that happens in the vicinity. That was the only time that I had a low water pressure shower.
It was Ok for my purpose one night stay
Quiet everyone's nice and friendly
The palm trees gaved the hotel a very private type off atmosphere. Loved it. Amazing
Had a good weekend here. Very gracious and polite staff.
Great property Would always return here Home away from home
Friendly staff
My visit was impacted by hurricane Beryl so our stay had limited services.
I love this property because it is in a great location to everything, very convenient. I disliked that they put us in a room wherebthenpaint was not only peeling but falling off of the ceiling. When they did change the room the mattress was so hard itbwasblike sleeping on the ground. There is also construction in process at this hotel. Loud hammering and drilling.
Many thanks, amazing place in Negril !
Thx ful
This was a quick stop over for a night as secured and friendly place to rest my head. apart from low water pressure that happens in the vicinity. That was the only time that I had a slow shower. Meals were prepared and was grateful.
Terrible, terrible terrible The hotel, the staff, the office staff just absolutely horrible!
During my stay at Negril Palms on June 21-22, 2024, I found the hotel to be a delightful beachfront retreat with some minor considerations. The ongoing renovations slightly impacted the visual appeal, especially at the front and in certain areas. However, the atmosphere was otherwise serene and inviting. Check-in with Kevon was efficient, although I had to revisit him twice for the safe key and WiFi password, which ideally should have been provided initially. The highlight of my stay was the mesmerizing beach and lovely pool, perfect for relaxation. The nightly bonfire added a magical touch to the evenings. The hotel amenities, including the spa, restaurant offerings, and attentive service, contributed positively to the experience. Overall, despite the minor inconveniences, Negril Palms offers a tranquil setting with commendable service, making it a worthwhile choice for a rejuvenating getaway
Ms.Javan &Ms. Kenisha were so wonderful & excellent, professional- customer service!!
The property is lovely, it is just as the name says Negril palms. The rooms are clean and cozy. The property is lovely. The staff is outstanding. The beach is right there.
Friendly staff… chefs food was truly delicious:
3 out of 10 stars
It just wasn’t great!
Awful
The bugs were awful! The office staff was ok it used to be better but it has really gone downhill! 3out of 10 stars
Safe
Rooms were as advertised. The room looked clean, but tge entrance door was old and dirty I see that renovations is innprogress, but i am sure the door has been in that condition for a while. Wifi and television service was good, except volume button onTV remote was not working properly. Grounds well kept reflecting theme of facility, but garbage from renovation could have been kept in an area except the front of building. All staff encounter was very professional. Had breakfast and it was prepared well Will visit again
Things are getting better. Will be back
Definitely an improvement over the last year or so. Food was really decent and water stayed hot. The property still needs some upgrades, but primarily cosmetic. Staff is great and very responsive.
I liked the friendliness of the staff. The location of the property is centrally located on the main strip of Negril. The rooms are clean. Make sure you have VPN on your cellphone and computer while you are using the wifi.
The room door was an interior door locking only with a thumb push and not deadbolt. We were only offered one key for two people-very inconvenient! The windows were wood slat without screens. The bathroom door scraped floor loudly or not at all.
It was a nice property but all conveniences are closed after hours- no front desk support, no kitchen etc. Needed some tea at about 9 and couldnt get any hot water anywhere. Ourside of that it was an enjoyable experience
There was a lot of noise the night when I check in aprons my room area
The bathroom was not tidy and the toilet paper was wet and yellow
I loved how quaint and quiet the property was! The food was delicious compared to many other hotel/resort stays. The only issue I had was the tv in my room. They don’t have any channels so you have to sign in to one of the apps, Netflix, prime, etc.. which for whatever reason kept giving me an error code. It was very frustrating because I love watching tv to wind down to. I hope they can correct this issue going forward. Otherwise i highly recommend:)
Not bad
This place is right on the beach, the food is good, the price was good, the portions are small but it’s was enough for us. Twice the water shut off, there’s no phone in the room, when we checked in they never mentioned it and they never said if there’s an emergency who or how to contact them( this is why I will not return, safety is important to us). There’s no music. It’s very quiet day and night but we always go to the neighboring hotels. It’s lively there’s. You feel like you’re on vacation.
Located in an ideal spot to get any thing that you may need, supermarket, money exchange etc.
I was without television service for 3 days. They finally moved me to another room were.the tv was working, then cable went out for the evening!
Was great! So much convenience and was peaceful and quiet
Was a lovely property. Appreciated the cleanliness and the peaceful atmosphere
I always enjoy my stay. Great location and value. Staff are friendly, helpful.
This is not our first time at The Palms. Pros: For the most part the staff was delightful. A shout out to Lisa our Lifeguard, always ready and available to help. Housekeeping gets a big shout out as well, Annette was always prompt and thorough. Food was good, however the menu is limited. Refrigerators are now standard equipment in the rooms. Cons: The manager doesn't appear to take much of an interest in what's going on on a daily basis. No hot water 3 days, no water 1 day as I was told the water tanks were not refilled on the property. Hauling your luggage to and from the rooms isn't a priority either.
My first time staying at this hotel was Amazing. The second time I booked this hotel, they canceled my booking because they were getting more money for the same room. The 3rd time I booked I got a message from the manager assuring me that my stay would be just as amazing as the first time. My Stay Was horrible! I only stayed at this hotel for five days because I was in town for a funeral. The first night I checked in late they were aware of my check time. The room I was assigned had big red ants, It was very old-fashioned not up-to-date like the first time I stayed there. The furniture were old and dusty, the walls were stripping. They had no hot water. I had to take a shower in cold water. There was no one there to give you service If you were checking in late, such as towels pillows to accommodate your stay. Only a Guy at the gate and he has no access to anything. The 2nd day I felt like they got pissed off because I asked for hot water. They turned the water heater all the way up which burnt my fingers it was Extremely HOT. The 3rd day The hotel didn’t have water at all. I had to go to the funeral without a shower, was unable to brush my teeth, wash my face or do anything that involves water. The room that I was in got flooded twice because of the Type of shower head (which needs to be replaced) and how forced the shower was. Overall, it was a horrible stay. Some rooms are up-to-date and some rooms are not. I change room once. Not pleased.
Great Quiet Place, love that my room was very secluded
Great buy
Except for the fact that, for the second trip in a row the television did not work & no one knew how to fix the problem, the food & drink were very good & very reasonably priced.
What I like is the property is clean and quite, dtaff respond quickly which is great. What I din't like was a staff member told my guest to get off the chair cushion with his wet shorts, because the cushions for the chair belongs to the ladies. I spent a lot of money for my comfort.
Negril Palms is a nice property. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. I enjoyed my stay.
Spent my birthday there 4/2/24 the experience was breathtaking. Definitely an off the beaten path type of vibe if you choose not to do a resort and want something chill and calming. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Negril Palms stay
The food service was poor and slow. The rooms has no sound barrier so noise from outside was almost unbearable. The bathroom door could not be closed. The tv was impossible operate . The bed was very uncomfortable. Parking was inadequate. On the other hand the people who cleaned the room did a great job, the bartender at beach bar was great, the woman that issues the towels at the beach and the people who cleaned the beach and the chairs were all great.
Stay away !
Actually had Holes in the towells ! Waited 45 minutes for a dinner ! Left after asking 3 times ! No Manager on the property ! Beach chairs were being Sold by beach guy ! Up at 6am and towells on Every Chair !
Liked everything
Small cute probably right on the beach.
This was my first time to Negril, and we really loved the whole seven mile beach. We had Family staying at other resorts so we did not spend much time at the Palms, and we ate elsewhere so I cannot comment on the food, but the staff and housekeeper was excellent and it is a very relaxing resort, it was quiet and any loudness always ended by 10pm. Would recommend this resort!!!!!!
Staff was professional and courteous. Rooms were not well equipped. No irons, thin bedsheets and water issues.
The shower hot water was broken for two days that i knew of from Feb 27-28th. That is why i rated the facilities so low. A cold shower is not good. Also, the toilet pipe leaked when flushed. Everything else in the room i was happy with and the food was good too. The lifeguards were excellent, extremely friendly.
Nice easy access to beach . Food and drinks reasonably priced . Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Food was good and parking
The Hotel location was great. They need to improve their services and quality especially when dining its doesn't takes forty minutes to make an omelette or a simple burger and sometimes it took 7 hours to have a room done.
Awesome place to stay and see negril. Quiet but lots to do close by. Amazing beach. Excellent staff. Great food at the hotel and lots of nearby food and entertainment choices. We'll definitely be back!
Perfectly located by the beach. Food is not great. Got the worst room even though we booked a month in advance, shower was not working, room was on the side of the road we could not sleep. They said first come first serve. They changed our room the following day upon our request.
We stayed 3 nights. Our last night/day we had no hot water. When we did have hot water, there was not much water pressure. They do not provide any shampoo. You get a small bar of soap only. No coffee maker in room. Very limited beach chairs. They do not have security so the dealers used the beach chairs and hounded the guests to buy their crap. Anyone could walk up into the resort from the main front entrance or the beach entrance. And the dealers did. They would also use the bathrooms. We did not feel safe here. Would not recommend or return to this property. We did not try the food as the menu was not appealing to us. Staff often hung out in the dining area smoking. Construction was going on, but that didn’t bother us.
When we arrived to our room , the safe was jammed and would not open. The floors in the room were dirty. We spoke with the office and she arranged for us to upgrade to a deluxe room which is what we have always purchased 2 times prior. The floor in the new room was better but was dirty under the bed , which we could live with until the next day. There are ants in the bathroom but since their windows are open and have only shutters for privacy, we expected to see some sort of critter . We can live with that ! The office staff are very attentive to our needs and respond immediately with our requests. We were told they did not have hot water since the prior day BUT were working on it. It was fixed by that evening. There was a guest there that thought everyone wanted to listen to their music and it played all day and night until someone asked them to shut it off around 9:30pm. We asked the next day for the office to ask them to keep it down all the time as it was rude and their music taste was obnoxious to us and they complied. There is a gate that is manned but they still allow some locals to use the beach chairs which is a bit annoying as there are only so many to go around. They do have a lot. They come super early and take the best seats. They didn’t appear to spend any money at the bar or restaurant. The property is gated for a reason and that is to keep out non- quests ! Overall , we love this place and have come to know the bartender, Legend and other staff
staff was good, but two years in a row the hot water didn't work, most of the time.
Very friendly staff. Beautiful environment quiet place, I love it.
Nice relaxing resort. Good vibes!

Three stars at least not bad if on a budget
