On the whole, the National Hotel offered very good value for money as far as I was concerned. We were given a very attractive, spacious room, which was one of the best features of this hotel. The breakfast offered was adequate in that there was some variety and reasonably good quality. One staff member in particular, Greta, offered very good service indeed and demonstrated genuine care for all guests. What was truly outstanding was the hotel restaurant, 'The Fat Cat', to which I would award 7 stars if I were able to do so. That is because it was consistently excellent in terms of quality, quantity and service. Accordingly, we went there for dinner on three occasions. There were of course areas in which improvement could have been warranted. The room itself was cold initially, and a space heater was quickly delivered although initially it did not provide adequate heat. So a second heater was supplied and subsequently the room was amply warm for the duration of our stay. The front desk staff were attentive, with some exhibiting more warmth and care than others. On one occasion cleaning of the room was not carried out adequately at all, while on another occasion, it was thoroughly cleaned. We would therefore consider staying at this hotel if we were to make a future trip to Klaipeda.

Very cosy room and comfy matress

No sleep.

The hotel was advertised as having parking which it did not. It was very expensive to park on the road outside. My room was across from a pub and club which did not close u till 4.30 p.m. The picture was taken at 3.57 a.m. Needless to say I didn’t get any sleep. The hotel’s answer - ear plugs!

Sehr gute Lage in der Altstadt, 10 Minuten mit dem Velo vom Bahnhof. Wir konnten unsere Velos über die Nacht gratis im Konferenzraum lassen. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, auch zum Ausleihen vom Besteck für eine Jause im Park daneben. Das Frühstück war sehr vielfältig, nur leider wurde das populärste litauische Gericht (Quarkbällchen oder varškėčiai) nicht nachgefüllt.

Stylish old hotel

Perfect location for strolling around the old centre of Klaipėda. The staff were without exception very polite, friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciated that, after my arrival relatively late in the evening by train from Vilnius on a hot day, they let me take a large draft beer up to my room, even though the bar had already closed.

Beautiful building, excellent location. The staff is phenomenal and extremely helpful. Especially reception ladies.( Greta :). All requests were satisfied almost immediately ( toothpaste, brushes, universal phone charges, early breakfast!) Perfect. Highly recommend.

This is a great hotel in a great location. We had a beautiful suite. We had a great buffet breakfast. Staff was very helpful. We enjoyed wine in the beautiful attached bar/restaurant.

Love this place

There were some positives but unfortunately, the negatives meant that our overall experience was poor. Positive 1. Location of the Hotel 2. Staff at reception helpful Negative 1. On check in, we let them know we were Gold Expedia members and so they said an upgrade was available and we could swap rooms once it had been cleaned. After returning from dinner, we were told that the manager had now said this wasn’t possible even though an empty room was clearly available. 2. The rooms were tired and worn. Need an up dating. 3. The safe in the room was in a cupboard that didn’t open. We asked if they could change our room as we didn’t want to leave our valuables lying around. They said no and offered we left it with them at reception. Something I’m sure no-one would feel comfortable to do. 4. Dirty pillow case and towels. These should be checked prior to guests using them. That said, when this was raised with reception it was addressed immediately. 5. Housekeeping was a big problem. On the first day, the rooms weren’t cleaned until 5pm in the evening. As we were heading out on day 2, we asked for the room to be cleaned earlier but got back at 4pm to find the room still hadn’t been cleaned. We had to ask reception for new towels to be brought to the room which took a while to arriving. By this point we were feeling quite frustrated. When we raised these issues to the manager, she shrugged it off and said she didn’t see what the problem was. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Perfect hotel to stay at if you want to walk around Klaipeda. Very authentic and rustic atmosphere but with all the necessary modern amenities. Staff was very friendly and helpful

Great Location

A fabulous location in the Old Town. There is no onsite parking but it can be arranged by the hotel for €10 per night only 2mins walk away. We felt the hotel furnishings etc were starting to feel a bit dated. Breakfast was adequate but not as good as other similar hotels in Lithuania

This is a charming facility with very helpful friendly staff who facilitated arrangements for us, including organising and paying for a taxi to meet our ferry. While the room was a little tired it was comfortable and warm. The hotels location is well located in the old town.

The room was not nice, size of a cupboard and with low ceiling because of roof, look through the window to a wall, room was dark. Had to pay extra for parking. Food was very tasty, room service was good, staff friendly and helpful. For this high price, too many extra fees.

Cozy little place

The staff was friendly. The room was nice and clean. The bed was firm and incredibly comfortable as were the pillows. This was a quick little trip for us and we just needed a place to lay our heads. We didn't spend much time in Klaipeda, but if we had the location would have been absolutely perfect to explore the old town. I would definitely stay here agian.

Great hotel in a fantastic location in the heart of the Old Town. Only a few minutes easy walk to the Old Ferry Terminal so ideal for visiting the beautiful Curonian Spit. Nice breakfast, lovely friendly, very helpful staff and a very spacious and quiet room.

Very nice hotel

Very nice smaller hotel in the downtown area. No gym or valet, but that was not a big deal didn't expect one. They advertised parking was free but had to pay E4 ... again not a big deal. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Well-Located Hotel Getting a Little Long in Tooth

Hotel was very well-located in the Old Town and enjoyed walking around the cobblestoned streets. Many great restaurants and bars situated nearby. Breakfast buffet was nice and hearty though the egg dishes could use a little improvement. Rooms did seem a little worn and dated. Bathtub/shower also seemed a little treacherous getting in & out of and do not remember it being outfitted with grab-bars.

This hotel was great again, as always! We always stay at this hotel when traveling to Klaipeda (at least when it is available). It is quiet, clean, convenient to local attractions. Breakfast was wonderful again, as always.

Perfect for the purpose of my visit

OK for one night only

The hotel is tired and the staff pleasant. Breakfast is nice. Great location in old city. We were in a small room directly above an incredibly loud wedding that went on until 2 am officially - but did get a room change to an even smaller room up one floor level where it was quieter. Ok for one night only.

It used to be a better service

Hotel is located in an amazing place, the old town of Klaipeda. Hotel itself is definitely okay, one of the better ones to stay in Klaipeda, but that could be due to the fact that there is no normal hotels in Klaipeda yet. (Radisson or National, no other comes close to 3 star hotel, or is it 4 star hotel? :)) National is good as well for the Fat Cat restaurant, which is attached to the hotel + they are the ones dealing with room service. Administrators in the hotel tend to be rude & moody too. Basically, what I am trying to say, for now in Klaipeda this hotel is okay, the minute there will open a new one better one, I will start using the other hotel.

Great as always

My wife and I always stay at the National Hotel when in Klaipeda, which is 3-4 times each year. The location is very convenient to various attractions, the hotel is always neat and clean, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Quirky rooms in Old Memel

The National Hotel has a great location, though thanks to its age its rooms can be shaped rather awkwardly, like the staircase leading up to the bathroom in my own room. And like most hotels, the National has forgotten that many people use their electronic devices in bed and so need an outlet near it and not just over the desk -- an industry-wide oversight. But the staff are lovely and the breakfast opulent, with a neighboring restaurant serving up delicious local specialties with a discount for hotel guests.

Convenient location, wonderful staff

We stayed two nights in this hotel. Great location, exceedingly helpful staff, wonderful breskfast. The double bed was two twins put together and mattresses slid around. Chairs were not too comfortable but overall it was great

The hotel is top notch location! The room has all needed facilities, complimentary toiletries and even analig tv channels. The Only minus would be there was no kettle in the room but perhaps I'm asking too much. The beds are very comfy!

Well-Run, Comfortable Hotel in Great location

We had a great stay in this well-run hotel, in a wonderful location in the center of the (restored) old part of Klaipeda (Memel). This hotel is a winner. If there were better mattresses on the beds, and if there were more different items provided on the breakfast buffet, then the National Hotel would be better yet.

5 star quality

After being ripped off by the taxi, which was a big disappointment as previously Klaipeda taxi drivers were very honest, I was in a foul mood on arrival and looking for any mistake by reception. The reception staff did not make any mistakes and a friendly smile cheered me up immeasurably. The rooms are stunning for a 4 star hotel. They are superbly-maintained and have good internet. I ordered food in the attached restaurant, which was decent and the bar staff was also very friendly and helpful. The town of Klaipeda has some spectacular views and nearby beaches, yet this fabulous hotel is worth visiting for itself! Thanks to this website I got an almost unbelievably cheap price for my room!

Outstanding Hotel!

My wife and I were extremely impressed by this hotel. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that we had been upgraded to a junior suite. The room was very roomy and extremely well appointed. The staff was very helpful and spoke excellent English. We ate dinner at the Hotel Restaurant and were very happy with our food; the quality was excellent and the price was very affordable. The breakfast in the morning was equally superb and featured a fine selection of breakfast items. All in all, an outstanding value for the money. We would recommend this this hotel in an instant to anyone. Thanks for an awesome stay!

Trevlig och hjälpsam tjej vid receptionen vid in/utcheckning. Rummet fint, otroligt rymlig (delvis att det kanske saknade möbler?!), fina sängar och inte bra dammsugen mata. Badrummet ytligt städat,tydligt syntes på allt från vaskens "tillbehör " till ventilationen; den sistnämnda var övertäckt med grå-svart,tjock damm... Det är ju luften kommer in/ut så inte rolig syn. Frukosten var minimal och NOLL för barn med glutenintolerans. Vi fick äta flingor som vi hade hemifrån (där syntes crêpes och bakelser med gluten) och de två brödskivorna (vi begärde dem, inget framme på bordet) serverades iskalla. Här började mitt tålamod ta slut... Så frukosten varade max 15 min och vi lämnade platsen. Fyra * hotell... Inte realistiskt!

Hotelli on hyvin keskeisellä paikalla vanhassa kaupungissa. Lähellä on useita ravintoloita. Ilmastointi toimi hyvin ja viilensi myös silloin, kun en ollut huoneessa. Jos viereisellä torilla on tapahtuma, musiikki kuuluu selvästi huoneeseen.

Mala experiencia

Mi experiencia no fue la mejor, para empezar reserve una cuarto doble suponiendo que voy con una persona más y me cobraron 15 euros extra por esa persona. Después me dieron una habitación que no estaba limpia ni arreglada así que tuvimos que pedir cambio de habitación, y mientras todo esto pasaba la gente del pub no nos quiso atender.
