Downtown
In downtown area. Homeless and druggies in evening. Convenient clise to metro. Hotel is dated but renovated so clean.
We stayed here because it was right on a subway line and very close to Roma termini. While there was lifts if you had any accessibility concerns this is not the place for you. There’s steps up to the first elevator. Then there’s steps up to the second elevator. Felt a bit noisy as well. Staff were friendly enough we found food around there that was so good. Beds were comfortable.
Steps from the metro and easy to access the whole city of Rome. Clean Rooms and nice staff
Good service great location
great location and wonderful experience
Would stay here again if I come back to Rome
Property was in a great location and easy to get to Hop On/off Bus, and the Colosseum
Great location - right next to the subway. Area is solid. Park across the street. We've been here before, and we will be here again!
Well appointed with a great location, would thoroughly recommend!
Well located hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful
Nice hotel near train station.
The hotel room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Everything that we wanted to see was within walking distance and we felt very safe.
So very glad we stayed there! We are a family of four and the staff, room and location were beyond excellent. The nicest most helpful people and staff at the hotel! We walked everywhere and the Colosseum was a 15 minute walk, the rest is 20-25 minutes. cafe right downstairs with live music on Friday, and the best thing ever is the subway, it’s right there!!! Breakfast is very nice as well, lots of options. Clean and very comfortable, and close to everything. The building, like all Rome buildings is a little dated but the price and all of the above more than made up for it! We all loved it
This is a very convenient location to base yourself in Rome. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was delicious, with a great assortment of foods, both hot and cold. Rooms were clean. Would totally recommend
Comfortable stay
Thanks for a lovely stay. Convenient to the subway and railway station. Staff were accommodating and helped sort an issue with the taxi transfer - thank you.
The staff was excellent. After a fall (not at the hotel)I was provided with a wheelchair for my stay. The Napoleon Hotel would certainly be my choice of a hotel in Rome.I could not ask for better service.Again thank you to all the hotel staff.
Very friendly staff who were very helpful when I left my eyeglasses. Hotel was comfortable and in a good location close to the Colosseum and other spots on the Esquiline hill.
Hotel past it’s prime
Good location and friendly staff, but hotel has seen better days. Room was ok, not great. Same with breakfast. Definitely not 4 stars.
Highly recommended wonderful staff great location
Amazing staff, great location, lovely breakfast and very comfortable beds. Great hotel with lovely bar and cafe alongside. Opposite a pretty garden square and walkable to all visitor attractions with metro stop outside as well.
hotel is little old but the area is central and close to termini station if you are planning on taking the train to other parts of Italy then this is a perfect place for you!
Conveniently located to Termini train station and immediately next to Metro station. Excellent breakfast. Twin bed was too hard for my liking. Double bed was good alternative. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Travel connections
Great location for travel connections. Train and Metro stations within walking distance. Reception staff was very kind and helpful
Great hotel. Clean and spacious. The staff were so friendly. Eating out options at your door step. Wine bar to left, cafe to right, both superb. Great breakfast. Metro entry at the door. 5-10 minute walk to the Termini. 16 minute walk to the Colleseum. Two convenience stores just round the corner. What else can I say. We loved it.
Staff was friendly, nice and welcoming
Just felt old- pictures in Expedia definitely make the hotel better than it looks.
This is an excellent place to stay. There are always staff at the front desk who are courteous and informative. All receptionists we interacted with spoke English. The rooms are plenty comfortable and clean. The stairs and small elevators are a small challenge for accessibility, but only a few stairs are required to climb to get to the accomodations. This seems to be due to the original architecture, which is beautiful. There are plenty of dining options around the hotel, as well as the park, laundry services, and shopping. We stayed there for a week between December and January, and were very happy with the accomodations.
Fantastic that the metro was right there by the hotel
Great value 4 star hotel. Everything is fantastic just the shower pressure was not strong. They also have area to store customers luggage. Great plus service!
Friendly staff, great roomservice
Good stay
Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. We had really nice, big rooms. The metro is literally at the doorstep of the hotel. The only downside for me was that it is further away from all the attractions than I would have liked.
Great price. Great staff. A lovely stay.
The shower was so small that you could hardly move. You can hear almost everything from the adjacent rooms. The staff are not friendly and the front desk manager should not be in the hospitality business. He is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I had asked for a wake up call on the day of my flight which I never received. The front desk guy was looking at me like I have asked him a rocket science question. Will never stay here again. You cannot get a good night sleep. The breakfast is good and the staff at breakfast are very nice. The hotel is close to colosseum but sadly so many homeless around the hotel. I would certainly look at other choices. The hotel manager, she is very understanding but her hands are tight. The cleaning crew are absolutely wonderful but the hotel needs a major renovation.
We like the older buildings easy access.
The hotel was in a very convenient location
It was a nice quiet hotel, older, but clean and neat. Staff helpful and friendly. Not in the heart of things, but was walkable. 15 mins from Colliseum.
Wonderful location and so close to the metro station. The staff were great and very helpful about restaurants, transportation and accommodating us when we arrived early.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Enjoyed the convenience to the Metro, right as you step out of the hotel. Also lots of shopping and cafes/pizzerias in walking distance. Park across from hotel too. Hotel breakfast was wonderful!
It was a nice enough property really needs some updating
The staff was very helpful and friendly the breakfast was one of the best that I’ve had for a hotel breakfast overall a great experience
The park across the street from the hotel was charming!
Great location- close to all the tourist sites. Front staff was helpful and pleasant. Enjoyed the restaurants and shopping in the area.
The price doesn’t show the 90 euros tax
Please note they will charge you extra 90 euros for tax when you check out.
Liked location, may need updates.
Staff was excellent to work with. Breakfast was wonderful. Room was spacious and clean. Hotel was decorated with Roman decor which gave it an at home feel.
GREAT DECORATIONS
Experience was very pleasant… Hotel were very helpful and friendly.
Ok place to stay
Napolean was ok overall but showers are way too small!! If one is over 90kg or 175cm good luck with the shower!!
Perfect place for the metro and walkable to many places like the colosseum.
Stayed 2 nights at the hotel, it’s good. But I wouldn’t call it a 4 star hotel. Probably more like a 3 star in my opinion. It’s clean, staff is pleasant. Shower head is in a very awkward/weird position and can’t be adjusted. Bathroom and shower is quite tight. Good location tho.
What I liked the most about this location cleanliness, staff was very friendly, breakfast was good, lounge on site, dining options in area and near key tourist location.
Property was clean and close to where we wanted to be. Breakfast buffet was good
Not sound proof, we arrived late and were tired and could hear everything from other rooms including hair dryers The surrounding area made us feel unsure as we talked from termini to the hotel. Homeless people were obvious and there was a social intervention team handing out food and blankets. The room itself was clean and what we expected. Was a convenient walk to termini during the day as it is very close
Conveniently located next to metro station.
The buffet breakfast was fantastic
Basic European hotel with easy access to Metro Great staff can give you much help.
You have to take two separate elevator to get to your room. To get to each elevator, you have to carry your luggage several steps up. There's no ramp. It is a very conveniently located next to meto station.
Terrible área.
The hotel is conveniently located to the rail station and the Colosseum/Roman Forum. It is beside a park so you do see some people sleeping in the street. Near those people will be people dining in a restaurant. I never felt unsafe and I walked all over the city. We really enjoyed the breakfast. It was large and the staff was very nice.
Staff was kind and infornative. Room was not as large as expexted, window view was not of courtyard. Room cleaning each day was good. Breakfast was excellent
The Hotel and staff are great. Breakfast is fantastic and plenty on offer. The area that the Hotel is in is a little run down, but we felt safe to walk around in the day and in the night. The Metro is right outside the Hotel door which is convenient for getting around Rome. Only gripe about the Hotel is no real restaurant although they do offer a small bar meal menu. However there are loads of places to eat within walking distance of the Hotel. Ask the staff on the front desk they will direct you to where the locals eat.
Very good reception service, cleanliness, They took care of us very friendly, very convenient location. We are very satisfied.
Nice property. Close to train station and subway lines.
Great hotel in the heart of Rome with a park right outside the front door. Easy access to metro and bus walking to many sights. Great food and cafes right around each corner. Delicious breakfast buffet included!!! Very helpful desk staff. Would most assuredly stay here again!
Great location & right next to the metro station. Fantastic hot & cold buffet breakfast. Staff very helpful.
It has a series of steps past the reception area to get to the first floor small elevator, and in order to get to rooms, there are a series of steps past the lobby. I realize that this hotel is a very old building and to make handicap accessible upgrades would be appealing to older people and people with handicaps. Also both rooms I've stayed in did not have a chair. I prefer not to sit on the bed. Overall, I would recommend staying there to friends.
Highly recommend this hotel in Rome. Location was excellent, very close to Termini station. Breakfast was top as well.
The hotel is nice and clean staff was helpful and friendly, rooms are very small so is the bathroom.especially the bathroomstall we stayed for 3 nights good breakfast.
Amazing staff, and the room was very quiet. Picked the location for the metro, grocery store, and restaurants. Plaza/ park across the street for people watching. We also found a laundry mat that washed and folded our clothes mid trip. For us the walk to the colosseum was doable. Highly recommend this hotel.
My wife and i were very impressed. The service, how clean everything was,an amazing breakfest and the counter staff were so friendly and accomodating. Just a great place to stay. Highly recomended...
Nice, conveniently located near trains. Park across from hotel full of homeless people. Rooms were great for our family of 4.
I would go again!
The rooms were large and comfortable. The desk staff were very helpful for getting to placing finding restaurants points of interest etc. the location was close walk to the coliseum terminal station for hop on hop off bus and a major basilica. Park across the street had a nice festival on end of our stay. The hotel had a nice little bar that was quiet and help. The two bar tenders were great and friendly.
Nice decor , helpful staff, good breakfast
This Hotel's location was great, close to a lot of tourist sites. Lots of place to early t and drink in the arrs...Great staff, very helpful
Everything was wonderful
This hotel was an amazing decision! There is a metro stration right outside, it's close to the roma termini in case you are taking trains to other cities like Florence or Milan etc, the staff was always friendly, the front desk was never empty and the breakfast was bomb every day! (They don't let you take breakfast items to go but you can take coffee in a to go cup and fruit as well) Me and my husband will for sure stay here when we visit Italy again ♥️
Great stay here. It is very clean and beautiful building.
Old , tired, uncomfortable, tiny shower
Good price, it was an easy walk to everything
Location
Very hard to find a parking spot
Nice clean rooms. Staff were very helpful. Convenient to public transportation.
Close to main attractions and good service. Great bartender on Monday and Tuesday!
Travel couple
We stayed comfortably even though very old building but they renovated and kept very well. Metro station is near. Especially, breakfast was remarkable and fantastic.
Have stayed here 4 previous times and have never been disappointed. Great staff and rooms
old property and not safe at night time
The hotel is good and the service but the conditions of the room was not the best, it necessarily a remodelation on the bed room
The hotel was in a nice area about a 15 minute walk from the train station, and across from a small square/park. The street/park were pretty quiet, and felt fairly safe (two lady's staying in the hotel). While we were staying there the metro station located directly in front of the hotel was closed due to renovations, but there was another one about a 5 minute walk away. I enjoy walking and found that it was fairly accessible to the Colosseum (20 minute walk), and other popular tourist destinations were about 30-45 minutes walking distance. The rooms were a good size, with a larger bathroom and walk-in shower, and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. The breakfast included is decent, however I couldn't really have it because they didn't have any vegan options, but my friend enjoyed it. Would stay here again.
Great hotel and staff. Breakfast was also high quality. Area the hotel is located is so-so.
Elevator didn’t work! Had to go to 5th floor daily! Not pleasant after a long day in Rome. Jane at the reception was good but the man at night was terrible.
Charming Boutique Hotel
This is a cute boutique style hotel. I found the staff to be very kind especially Marco. This is an excellent choice for a budget friendly hotel. There is a metro stop right out the front door which was great for me! I was able to get to most things on Metro or with combination of bus. One of the most famous gelato places is a few blocks away. The breakfast was plentiful. I found the experience to be charming! The staff helped me with everything I asked. It's not a corporate so expect more of a bed/ breakfast - small hotel feel. Only the coliseum is nearby and while they say it's walking distance - I took the metro.
Broken elevator, Broken toilet, hotel does not have ac in the hall ways. Water wouldn't go down in bathroom sink. Scetchy area. Just the worst hotel i jave ever stayed at.
Overall good place to stay - located conveniently Price is fair and service including breakfast were great
Room smelled completely of mildew/mold. It was overwhelming as soon as you opened the door
Had a great stay. Great location.
The rooms were very clean, good air conditioning, and excellent breakfast. Staff were very kind.
Very nice stay. Great location. Termini station close by. Clean rooms, excellent staff
Great Hotel, Great Staff...we'll be back!
Check-in was great! Stephano was answered all of our questions, took care of our bags and gave us some recommendations on where to eat and how to move through the city. The room was spacious. I know it's a European hotel, but we slept four quite comfortable and the bathroom was huge. Plus breakfast was a nice spread of food for only 12 euro per person.
Great location!
Front desk personnel wasn't very nice, but breakfast staff were very kind and helpfull.
Napoleon Hotel | Hotel in Rome | Travala.com
I just returned to the US after six days in Rome. The pros of the Hotel Napoleon are an excellent, professional staff including very quiet housekeeping. Also I liked the location in that it is rigtht at a Metro stop and 4 blocks from Termini. The cons: no electric kettle in the rooms with every photo on the internet showing one and TINY shower (think smaller than a cruise ship). Also, this is not a 4 star hotel. I have traveled around the world including Asia, the US, Canada, and Europe so I have had some experience to judge hotel star ratings so take it for my experienced-based opinion.
