Rooms a bit spartan, but clean, no chest of drawers or tea making facilities, power only one side of bed. Breakfast not that great, and we only ate there in the evening once, but nice pool area and great location for Ornos beach - which was wonderful. Had a great holiday overall.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were clean and accessible We had an early flight and the hotel made a nice box breakfast for our party.

Great Location!

This was the first stop on our Greece trip and it was a great first stop! Reception was so friendly and always provided great local insight. It was also awesome that they provided towels for us.The hotel restaurant and breakfast were so tasty! We last minute wanted to do an ATV for a day and reception called several different places and found us an available one! This hotel was in a great location close to Ornos beach!

We were quite disappointed with our stay in Mykonos Essence. The room we were in was dark and facilities in the room were sparse E.g. no kettle or coffee making facilities. There was a half eaten ice cream tub in our freezer compartment from a previous guest. Cleaning was not up to scratch. The pool area looks over the car park so the view is not great.

Amazing, this hotel saved us

We experienced a VERY tragic air bnb experience when we got to mykonos. It was awful and we basically fled in the middle of the night. I booked our stay at Essence and within 10 minutes, Lamdrini the receptionist got us a transfer and he was there in two minutes. Since then, Lamdrini was our savior. She was the kindest, most knowledgeable, positive, wonderful ray of sunshine and catered to our EVERY need. We cannot say enough good things about her. This woman needs a raise. She truly went above and beyond for us every day. The hotel experience was incredible. Rooms were clean, comfortable. Shower was awesome. Wifi was A+. The location of this hotel could not be any better- short walk to food and the beach and bus stop. If we ever return to mykonos we will stay here hands down.

Review

The reception staff were fantastic and gave us lots of good suggestions for what to do during our stay. They even organized a rental car to be dropped off at the hotel. Buffet breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. The location is a 3-5 minute walk from the beach with plenty of great restaurants nearby.

Amazing hotel and customer service! They accommodated my wife’s gluten free allergy for breakfast and the room was clean and location was perfect. They also helped setup special requests from a 24/7 whatsapp chat. Perfect spot!

Loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay here for a friends' trip. The location is very central in Ornos, and easily accessible to Mykonos town by bus or taxi. The staff was also incredible and very friendly! I only wish the airport transfer was free and some of the transportation was included. Otherwise, no complaints. We loved it!

Disappointing for a 4 star

Disappointing.... I was only resident in the hotel for two of the five nights I had pre paid for.. due to the weather I was unable to reach the island for the first 3 nights... .the price charged was non refundable Which I except but sadly I feel that the hotel missed a chance to ensure my two days were made extra special ... at no point was I offered a good Will gesture..... (a friend who was in the same situation was given a full refund even though again he had pre paid on a non refundable price) apart from the above I had paid for a superior room but apart from a larger balcony I would say the room was no more special.... the sun chairs were discoloured and looked dirty, the maintenance of the room was poor... telephone point was hanging out of the wall, the wall had dirty marks. For a four star hotel I would expect more. I raised my concern to the hotel manager and showed him photos of which I had taken but he refused to agree with my complaint and failed to deal with the points I had raised. The only plus points I can comment on was the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. But overall I was disappointed and I will not return or recommend this hotel

Property was really nice. Room was nice. Wifi was a big issue and it sucked. Workers were really friendly and helpful. Pool was lovely and food was lovely. This hotel is close to the beach and bus station but requires a walk on 2 steep hills. But a very nice stay.

Very kind staff! Sites on top of a hill- short walk to beach and lots of food choices. Arrange for transportation from port if going in busy season (Aug for sure). Really enjoyed our stay! Try the day of sailing excursion- highlight of our trip and can be arranges with front desk.

Nice hotel, great staff

I enjoyed my stay at the Mykonos Essence. It's a nice hotel, in a relatively quiet area of town away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist areas but fairly close because Mykonos town is just 10 mns away by bus. The rooms are comfortable, with a very nice 2-level patio where one can relax in the evening and quietly enjoy the cool breeze. Most importantly, the staff is really nice. Especial mention of front desk staff Nikki, a beautiful and absolutely amazing Greek girl who makes you feel at home from the moment you check it. When I arrived and she learned I'd just disembarked from the ferry, she excused herself for a couple of minutes and walked to the back room. I thought she was taking care of some paperwork but she came back with a fantastic, cold, refreshing glass of fresh juice with fruits and lemons that she offered me whilst checking me in. She offered lots of tips of things to do around Mykonos and, throughout my entire 2-day stay, she was responsive to every need and always eager to help out. She's absolutely terrific and one of the best and most pleasant customer service staff I have ever met although I have visited a large number of hotels across all the continents. Nikki: ευχαριστώ.

Highly recommend for Ornos area!

We had a lovely stay at the Essence hotel. Our room was clean, had everything we needed and we loved the balcony. Breakfast was basic but okay. The pool was lovely, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the beach, but there is a steep hill to walk up and down. Overall if you are looking at staying in the Ornos area I would highly recommend. The bus to travel into Mykonos town is just by the beach and is only €1.80 per person. There is also a bakery down by the beach that sell the yummiest sandwiches :)

Nice hotel with good pool, unfortunatly the sun bed cushions were grubby. Our room was fine apart from a very dirty floor. It was only when i got in the shower my feet left dirty marks in the bath. We wore the slippers provided and after a few minutes the soles were grubby. The bathroom ceiling was covered in condensation and moldy bits around the sink. On the plus side the breakfast was excellent.

We loved our recent stay! Extremely easy walk to Ornos beach, which is a lovely beach for a relaxing day. For more exploring, the local bus stops frequently at the beach and will take you to Mykonos Town, where you can catch buses to other locations. Ornos itself doesn’t have much to do, but that worked okay for us because we wanted something low key. The hotel offers a really nice complimentary breakfast, is clean, and had a nice room with comfortable bed.

Nice clean hotel. Nice room and bed. We had a room with a balcony so it was very nice. The breakfast was plentiful and good for all. There was a hit and cold section. The staff were amazing and very friendly.

Amazing customer service from the time we checked at reception helped us with booking activities and rentals had good info on the island and how to get around. The manager was quick to solve any issues we had and was very kind. They have a great restaurant food was awesome every time nothing was a disappointment on the menu. Would recommend staying here to other people

Really nice place!

I would recommend Mykonos Essence to anyone planning to travel to the island. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The facility itself is very clean and tasteful.

Lovely hotel 3 minute walk from Ornos beach, a gorgeous little bay with a selection of very nice beach bars and restaurants, as well as a beach shop and supermarket. Hotel itself is all you could want for a stay in Mykonos. Very clean comfortable room, helpful staff and a very varied and tasty breakfast. Travelled as a couple but would reccommend this hotel to anyone!

In Essence a very good hotel....

The service is excellent at the hotel. The maid deserves a special mention who is lovely and works hard every single day spotlessly cleaning the rooms. The guys at breakfast are equally brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is very good with good options to cater for everyone. In essence you would not be disappointed staying here at all....highly recommended. Thank you to everyone.

The property has a good location, staff was very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The wifi didn’t work very well since we were in the lower floor rooms. The pool was very nice but would be better if heated. It is too chilly in October. The breakfast has a great selection. Very close to the beach. The beaches were stunning.

The first thing that strikes you is the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, it made our stay that more beautiful. The hotel itself is clean, with regular and quick housekeeping. Facilities are more than adequate, breakfast was good with options. The AC was very cool all through, no problems at all unlike at several other hotels I've been to. The hotel basically ticked all the boxes for a hotel with its star rating, and then some! I'd definitely go back there. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay delightful, you guys rock!!

Location is excellent.. close to Ornos beach where you can get a bus straight to Mykonos town and can also catch the taxi boat for other beaches from Ornos beach. We had breakfast included and the food was quite good.

Overlooks Ornus beach so a steep hill to walk up. Staff were very nice and friendly and happy to help with any problems.

The staff was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond! Upon check in, one staff member sat us down and reviewed the Map of Mykonos with us and explained options of transportation and upon check out the front desk called us the day before to help us organize transfer to our next destination. all which was very very helpful our first time in Mykonos! The room was clean and had all that we needed, the morning breakfast had a variety of food for all visitors! Great experience, would recommend to anyone and return to visit again!

Warmest Welcome in Mykonos

From the moment we stepped foot into this hotel the welcome and treatment we received was incredible. All of the team at Mykonos Essence are so polite and can not help you enough. Nothing is to much trouble and each guest is treated the same. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very close to the beach less than 10 min walk to Ornos beach. Also very close to transportation. In Ornos beach we were able to take the bus to Mykonos town for less than 2 euros per person and take a water taxi to other beaches (10 euros pp for 1 beach or 20 euros for an all day pass to go to any every beach pp). The staff is so friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room to a deluxe with a balcony as they had it available . Would 100% recommend

Beautiful location. Great amenities. Well maintained pool, would have been better if opened till after sunset. Close to restaurants and public transport. Lovely helpful staff at reception, kitchen, cleaners and pool bar. Lovely breakfast provided.Only thing that would have been helpful was if there was a free shuttle provided to pick up and drop of clients to bus stop on arrival and departure, due to the steep hill required to walk up.Enjoyed out time there greatly.

Great location, very close ( 5 mins walking distance) to the beach & the bus stop. Great, friendly stuff at the hotel. Spacious rooms with beautiful view. The rooms were kept very clean. The breakfast was delicious and until 11 am. The hotel is also withing walking distance to shops & restaurants & coffee shops .

Excellent location in Ornos, close to the beach and local Tavernas and just a ten minute ride on the bus in to Mykonos town.

Great Hotel

We loved staying at Mykonos Essence. I would highly recommend anyone to book it. Clean, modern, near a nice beach, great restaurants and near the bus station that could take you to town. Anthony was a great host, very knowledgeable on what we should do around town.

Lovely boutique hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mykonos Essence hotel. The facility was first class and the staff were exceedingly accommodating. Other than the Wi-Fi signal in the room which was not very strong, it was a terrific stay.

Nice Hotel Great Location

I will certainly be recommending the Mykonos Essence hotel. The staff were great, very helpful with the rooms very clean. The hotel is in a great location close to the beach and restaurant's. Mykonos town is only a short bus ride away with the bus stop located close by.

Nice hotel and super friendly and helpful staff

Hotel was quite nice and the staff were great. It’s about 10min max walk to the beach with loads of restaurants and beach bars. Only thing is you have to get a taxi or motorbike to go anywhere like old town or paradise but that’s not really the hotels fault and they are always there to help organise a taxi. Would still highly recommend staying here.

The people are very friendly and kind and helpful. The breakfast is good and has a beautiful view. The rooms are big spacious and clean. It has a small pool and you have to be very quiet. It gets boring at times but the hotel is on a good location and you can walk to the beautiful beach in five minutes.

Fantastic service in this pretty, boutique hotel

I went on a hen party with 5 of my friends and we had a brilliant time! The hotel is lovely and relaxed; the staff are incredibly friendly; the breakfast is delicious; the sunbeds are comfortable; the hotel is just a short walk from Ornos beach and restaurants; and finally, we loved our family room (although it could’ve done with more storage space!).

Mykonos Essence was a perfect place to stay on the island if you're looking to stay a bit away from the fray in Mykonos Town. The hotel was gorgeous and you could tell it was recently renovated. The staff was second to none! We so enjoyed getting to know the town and the staff recommendations were perfect.

Nice welcome, helpful and friendly staff, modern white Mykonos syyle room, sea view room was a good size for two, only negative was the bathroom door was just a pane of glass and they didn’t provide any transfer so you had to pay £14 per person. We had a lovely stay! The pool was quiet and a very attentive pool guy. The breakfast was good.

Nice friendly staff

My wife and I went to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary on Mykonos and booked the Essence Hotel as it looked beautiful. On arrival we were 'updated' to a Deluxe room on our first night which was stunning, unfortunately we went from 5* to 3* over the next 2 days. The Superior room we booked had been given to someone else for the night and wasn't ready for us, we were told to go for a walk and come back later, which we did but it still wasn't ready, we were then allocated another room which was actually a family room with no balcony, very nice room for a family of 4 but not us. After discussion and debate with the manager in charge we were given another room, this time with a balcony, which was brilliant, unfortunately the room was a standard room or at best a 'Classic' double and not a Superior room as we booked. The room could have been nicer but needed some attention. We accepted this room as there were apparently no more available, including the room we booked! The hotel is beautiful in a great location but we feel we were in limbo for the first 2 days, unable to really unpack or settle into our room. The simple fact of the matter is that we did not get the room we paid for, we put alot of emphasis on the room we book and expect to get that, so were a bit disappointed about that. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Maria on the front desk /reception who was very welcoming and informative. We would go back but they would have to guarantee we got the room we

Had a Family Room and it exceeded expectations. We arrived early in the morning and were welcomed with lots of information about things to do in Mykonos and stored our luggage until they were ready to check us into our room. Walking distance to the beach and nice restaurants. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. If we return to Mykonos we will definitely try to stay here again.

Awesome Staff and nice location

Awesome hotel and stay. The staffs are so nice and gives really good recommendations on where to explore in Mykonos. The restaurants they suggested are awesome and even offer to help book car & ATV rentals for us (rates are definitely cheaper than online deals). Awesome experience overall and the location of the hotel is quite close to the beach. Definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice stay.

We had an excellent stay at Mykonos Essence hotel. The staff were amazing from start to finish, they went out there way to always make sure we were okay. Lovely room with a lovely balcony and view to watch the sunset. Amazing views over Ornos Bay whilst eating breakfast and the breakfast was good!! We will be back!!!

Good hotel

Hotel gets a 9 out of 10 from us. All that let it down from a personal point of view was that although we had a sea view the balcony never got the sun at any point during the day- it just would have been nice to have had a room that did. We weren't sure if that was because we didn't book direct with hotel .

Everything was lovely except the internet hardly worked at all which was tough for an international traveler.

perfect hotel

From first impressions to the last , an amazing hotel. Staff are welcoming and friendly all a credit to this hotel, they couldn’t do enough to help. They interacted with my daughter and made her feel special , they made everyone feel welcome and valued. The Rooms were very spacious and clean with a lovely balcony. beds are very comfortable I usually struggle with beds whilst abroad as they are far to hard, these were perfect. The rooms come with shutters which block all outside light , perfect for many late layins and catch up for sleep. Breakfast was great , such a nice display of fresh food, cereal , fruit, yoghurt and some simple fried food just perfect. The hotel is sat nicely on top of a hill so it has a lovely views from all areas and for sun sets. The walk to the beach and restaurants takes about 10 min tops and there is a lovely local shop to go to, to stock up on beers and snacks. The pool area is small and quiet with few sun beds but it is very relaxing with ambient music played. Mykonos main town is about a 10 min drive away, an easy route once done once. Perfect hotel , perfect location

Hotel close to Ornos beach which is lovely. Nice sunbeds and good bars although expensive. We went last week of September so we could get a sunbed easily and it wasn't too crowded. Food at the hotel was lovely especially breakfast. Mykonos is worth visiting

Beautiful Hotel with Fantastic Staff

We really enjoyed our stay at Mykonos Essence. We have a lovely pool side room which was large and comfortable for two people. The staff is what really made this place excellent. Irene and Sandra paid very close attention to each guest and went above and beyond to meet our needs and surpass our expectations. The location is great, the beach is a very short walk and the bus to head into town is only a 2-minute walk as well.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a special one. Charming facilities conveniently located near Ornos and restaurants. You rarely see hotel service like this nowadays.

NOT a 4-star hotel. Maximum 3 stars !!!

- Bad: A/C did not work in our room. Could only get another room after threatening cancellation and threatening calling Expedia about it. - Bad: Staff member would not admit the A/C was not working even though she had the control in her hand and could feel only warm air coming out. - Bad: New room had good A/C but had problem in bath tub. Pin to pull and switch between bath or shower was broken. - Bad: Facilities are NOT of a 4-star hotel. Level of comfort is of a 3-star hotel. - Good: Really GREAT breakfast buffet. Only 4-star hotel feature. - Good: They have showers for people who wanted to shower after check-out on last day of stay. - Good: Except for above staff member's behavior about A/C malfunction, the staff team was fantastic. - Good: Location is great. Ornos is a nice beach. Within walking distance to many restaurants.

Incredible boutique hotel

Highly recommend this little hotel in Ornos. We loved Ornos beach the best and thought that it had the best food as well. The hotel staff were incredible! When we arrived early and tired they greeted us with big smiles and coffees. Quick trip to town but recommend renting a scooter or atv since busses are slow and there are many things to see on the island. Hope to visit again

Great hotel!

Exceptionally friendly + helpful staff. Hotel is relatively modern and situated close to town. Only downside to the hotel is the bathroom shower, which is handheld. Makes for a difficult shower. Overall, a great hotel

Hotel was an excellent example of what a hotel should be.Extremley clean and the staff could not of been more helpful.The walk to the beach was short but the hill coming back up wasn't a problem for us but some might struggle if u have a disability.Overall a amazing stay at this hotel.I would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel, Amazing Staff, & Great location

First and foremost, the staff is AMAZING!!!! Particularly Irene and Irene :) And if Irene ever comes to the US, she will definitely have a place to stay with us. Everyone was very pleasant, kind, and eager to help. The morning breakfasts offered a large variety of delicious foods. The environment was so peaceful with beautiful soft music and endless views to enjoy. The pool was amazing and refreshing with cold water that was always clean. The entire hotel was spotless and well maintained. The rooms were gorgeous and very clean, housekeeping staff was always around and kept the hotel beautiful. We had one trail of ants on the first night, but we took care of it ourselves and didn't even complain to staff since everything else was so perfect. The location is incredible. It is a very short walk to the beach with restaurants and markets. Ornos Beach is beautiful and a lot of fun (but not too much fun, like some of the other beaches). Access to other towns if very easily achieved by the bus or water taxi from Ornos Beach. I would highly recommend Mykonos Essence Hotel and will plan to stay again if we return to Mykonos in the future.

Nice hotel quiet location awesome staff very accom

I was welcomed with cold beverages and the staff was ready to waid on me hand and foot. I felt very comfortable there right away. The hotel is clean and has a very nice pool. The breakfast in the morning was a major plus.

Overall very nice hotel. Good location with a view and close to restaurants/beach. Excellent breakfast. Good rooms, although may need some maintenance. Air conditioner wasn't working properly, had to have someone fix it on first day of my stay.

Stayed two nights before we went island hopping. Very clean and comfortable. Well prepared and presented breakfast, very helpful and knowledgeable staff and nice pool to cool off in.

Absolutely Excellent!

Had a recent 2 night stay with my girlfriend at the Mykonos Essence Hotel and from start to finish it was amazing! My girlfriend and I were greeted by Angelina, who immediately made us feel at home. Our room was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos on Expedia. It was bright, clean, and modern, with just enough Greek style to give it a true Mediterranean feel. The grounds of the hotel were another highlight, as the pool and dining area were two terrific places to spend time. The included breakfast was delicious and fresh, with plenty of choices including eggs, meats, cheeses, and pastries. But it was probably the staff at the hotel that helped make the experience everything that it was. Angelina (who was the concierge we dealt with the most) went above and beyond to help us plan out every little thing, from where to eat, to which beaches were worth spending time at, to renting a car. The same can be said for Irene, who was equally helpful and attentive. Special shout out to Kostas (hope that's how I spell it) who made awesome drinks, and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. I never write reviews this long but for the Mykonos Essence Hotel, I felt an obligation to describe as much as possible for possible future guests. Incredible value for the money, a must-stay!

Absolute gem!

Great hotel a 5 minute walk from Ornos Beach. Could not fault the room in any way. Breakfast was also great as we're every member of staff.

Great visit to Mykonos!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights near the end of May and were super pleased and impressed with everything! The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. In terms of the rooms, they were incresibly clean, the shower waz AMAZING, it had great amenities, and we had a lovely little outdoor patio with a view of Ornos beach. The complimentary breakfast was also a wonderful surprise and had many great options to accomodate all types of diets. The only feedback we have was that our wifi connection was pretty poor during the evenings, although we can appreciate that this is likely a popular time of use. With regard to location, although not in the center of Chora, the hotel is in a beautiful area that is quiet yet still close to lots of great restaurants, grocery stores, rental services, and transit stops. Truly, our only regret was that we didn't plan to stay longer! A big thanks to the staff for their kindness and hospitality!

Amazing stay in an amazing place.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Mykonos Essence Hotel, from the moment we arrived at reception we were welcomed with a professional and helpful team of staff who made our stay at the hotel one of the best holidays we have ever had. I cannot stress just how positive and friendly the staff in this hotel were, they truly made us feel at home from the moment we arrived to the second we sadly left after 2 amazing weeks. We were luckily upgraded to sea view room with an outstanding panoramic view of Ornos bay as we came just out of season and it wasn't too busy on the Island. The room was gorgeous, simply and tastefully decorated especially the rain forest shower was a great start to the day. The pool area is nice and the breakfast was fantastic and laundry service had my clean clothes back with me in just a couple of hours. Very efficient and with 2 turn down services per day our room was always clean & tidy. I would highly recommend.

Nice simple hotel

A very simple hotel no frills, staff excellent, breakfast was lovely and everything spotless. Beautiful location,15mins to the beach and bars.
