good
Loved the staff, atmosphere and facilities. A little long walk from the station. But it was close to where we were eating out and meeting people. Great stay.
Rooms are too dark, no good for dping make up
Christmas break
We had a good stay , good breakfast very clean , comfortable beds and cleaned everyday . Would stay again .
It was ok
It was ok. The room was clean, the bed comfy and the service was good. However, the room was incredibly small, barely fitting a double bed in and the en suite was tiny. They also don’t turn the air conditioning on in the winter months, but the room was boiling - so warm that my wife’s makeup was melting. We only stayed here while visiting an event at the excel. Wouldn’t stay again - the various premier inns etc around would have been preferable and much better value for money
Amazing stay, loved it!
Fantastic service and very comfy
Fantastic stay and service. The family room we booked wasnt available but we were given 2 rooms for the same price and free breakfast and cocktails to make up for this...over and above. The bed was exceptionally comfy. The staff were wonderful.Perfect for an overnight stay after a concert at the 02. Would definitely go back.
Basic but sufficient for one night stay.
Can hear sounds from other rooms.. No welcome drink offered. Noisy from airport near by. Heating turned on itself at 4am so it woken me up with the fan sound.
Only stayed for one night, the room was nice, the facilities were great and modern.
Cleanliness was fair
Good hotel
Always stay in the Moxy and always have a great stay and service
Convenient
Okay
Check in was easy. They did take a £10 deposit which is still pending in my account( 2 days later). My friends got a free cocktail but I didn’t. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast offered lots of options. Strangely noticed lots of bites in my body on Friday. Unsure if it was from the stay but they do allow dogs. Not sure if dogs are allowed in all rooms.
Fantastic for couples
Lovely location and serene environment with view of the London city airport.
Property was nice and staff was helpful. Rooms could have been a bit clearer of dust and had more room to hang clothes (especially being so close to the convention center). Food was frozen in the center one night, but staff quickly addressed and remedied with replacement.
We stayed here while we visited EGX/Comic Con at Excel London. The room was nice and well presented and the service was good, not badly priced either for a London hotel. Would stay here again when we return next year.
V good
Excellent staff, clean well equipped hotel for conference at Excel.
First time and can't wait to go back again
Really enjoyed it's and loved that there was some gluten free food for the breakfast buffet, the bed felt like clouds and very cosy, love the shampoo and conditioner and looking into getting some as my hair is super soft, it's super funky and love the artwork around the place will come back again 😁
Awaiting Refund
No hot water couldnt shower was awful.and really failed to infor guest
The hotel was great, but I was very disappointed on the morning of check out!! There was no hot water throughout the hotel! I completely understand that this was unexpected but I would have thought that a 4 star hotel could have a contingency plan or to put a letter under the doors, rather than just a poster in the elevator and on reception!!!
Overall was great along with the arcade and fun games services and obviously the all night bar service. Though the menu was limited and was with good items available.
Friendly staff ,nice and clean, good location
Great stay
Very close to city airport, the perfect for early morning flight. Really comfy stay, would come again.
Great spot to visit the O2
All over stay was nice.
I had a lovely time at this hotel, very clean and the staff were very welcoming and respectful. Would definitely recommend!
Style over substance
Liked the fact it was sound proof so no issues hearing other guests or the airport nearby. The room was cosy - but very small. The bathroom was ridiculously tiny. We didn't like the soft mattress - it was like being on a boat at sea every time one of us moved. We found the water pressure in the shower a bit weak - I'm glad i didn't have to wash my hair while i was there! Overall, ok. It was a stylish hotel but in truth, I'd rather pick the Premier Inn next time.
Just an overnight stay...goid location near London City airport...modern vibrant hotel...room was a good size with decent bathroom and comfortable bed...free welcone drink was appreciated..food from restaurant was excellent ...certainly would stay again
Check in was efficient and staff friendly. The room however was pretty grubby! Bed was fine (most important bit) but there were greasy hand marks on the wall, bathroom floor was pretty grim and some suspicious looking stains on the carpet!
Great stay lovely and modern and clean
Great hotel and lovely staff. Close to excel and easy transport links to central London. Nice menu!
Really nice room & friendly bar staff
Nice contemporary structure and interior. Comfortable beddings and nice towels. I should be going back
the room was clean and staffs were very friendly, but the restroom was leaking in the morning.
Nice, modern hotel. Couple minutes walk to dlr rail station. Very quiet area. Friendly staff.
The staff was very nice and helpful, facilities are great. Easy to travel to and from with the DLR. I’ve stayed a couple of times and it’s always a pleasure.
Amazing hotel , staff were extremely helpful, close to the excel centre
Excellent! I recommend to all the tourists to stay in this hotel
Unfriendly staff , unhelpful
Absolutely wonderful and pleasant stay. All staff were very helpful and attentive to all our needs and requirements. Room was amazing and clean, no issues at all. We really enjoyed our stay and I want to give a big thank you to all the team at Moxy London Excel, Dockside. Will 100% stay at this hotel and any Moxy in the country as we were really impressed, shame we couldn't stay a bit longer.
Good
Room is clean and tidy, very comfortable. But the room is small and there is no fridge in the room.
A cool place to stay. The family room does actually fit a family comfortably, unlike other London hotels in the same price range. We loved the eclectic decor and vibe of the common areas.
Overnight stay for Peter Kay and MJ the musical
Fabulous place The best staff and very dog friendly Every thing was 5*
Enjoyed our stay
Great hotel for a few days in London. Very clean and modern. Only issue was the TV was glitchy, but other than that it was perfect!
The Moxy was a disappointment. The base of my bathroom shower was disintegrating, wet and gross (can provide a photo), the hotel advised me upon checkin that my stay was ineligible for Bonvoy points since I booked through Expedia and they charged me for my entire stay upon check out even though I’d already prepaid. They’ve since refunded me. The neighborhood was also deserted. I will not stay there again.
A weird but quirky place!
I decided to stay here for a change, as I usually stay at the Holiday Inn next door but had seen pictures of this and thought it looked quite nice! I really like the decor. It’s quite trendy and modern and has a Britpop influence to it. Is it very strange hotel however, but I can’t quite put my finger on why. The place was clean and it had plenty of available parking, for a small fee. Where it fell apart for me was the service. The staff were quite young and they seemed quite disinterested in you as a customer. I’ve never had a lime and soda cordial without the lime cordial in it. The barman didn’t really listen to my request, so I just left it to save messing about. The food is more bar food than what you would expect for a filling meal so you might want to consider eating elsewhere unless you just want a snack. Breakfast was good and as part of a buffet style, which I prefer. You also receive a token for a free cocktail or mocktail on arrival, which I thought was a nice touch, but because of the poor service I decided not to bother using it as I wasn’t sure if I was going to get my choice of drink. I would certainly stay again but it would be good to have more attentive staff.
The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were lush. No complaints at all.
Very good hotel. Close to the airport.
Great stay
Had a great stay, staff were very friendly and competent, room was very clean, comfortable and quiet, with everything we needed. Towels were so fluffy. Thank you
My son had so much fun with the different games and breakfast was excellent.
Always great recommend highly
Aimed at a younger clientele than we are . Convenient to train transport to all parts of London.
Would recommend
Really pleasant 3 night stay. Comfortable, spacious accessible room, which had the ability to have different aid con settings in each section. Great view of the planes landing/ setting off at London city airport with minimal noise. Lobby welcoming, friendly staff and plenty of spaces to relax or do sone work. Hot drinks available at various times of day. Limited evening meal menu but very hot, tasty and quite quick. Breakfast was hot and well stocked.
Awsome !!
We had a lovely time at the Moxy , a great base for london via the DLR. A trendy hotel ,spacious family rooms ,lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Would recommend and definitely return
Awsome !!
2nd time at the Moxy ,great base for london via the DLR. A trendy hotel ,spacious family rooms ,lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Would recommend and definitely return

Perfect for an event at Magazine
Arrived late and checked out pretty early so didn’t have too long to experience the hotel. Basically used it as somewhere to sleep, wash and eat breakfast. It served these functions adequately. The shower was a bit weak for my liking and “argued” with me a bit. Was pleasantly surprised to get a cooked breakfast though (which was good) as I was only expecting continental. Not keen on the hotel’s attempts to skew their NPS results though.
We booked to attend ComiCon at the Excel centre so it was a walk and DLR 2 stops only away. Great location if using London City Airport and a good alternative to staying at the expensive hotels closer ti the Excel. Roons were roomy beds very comfortable Staff were wo derful welcoming efficient and friendly.12.00 noon checkout was great!!!
Excellent!
It was an overnight stay for catching an early morning flight from the City Airport nearby. Everything at the hotel went smoothly. There is currently no pedestrian access from the Custom House station, which is not an issue with the hotel itself. Just be aware if you plan to arrive by train.
The room itself was perfectly fine - good bathroom and well laid out. The quality of the service from almost all staff was from average to very poor. The dining options were poor as well. They provided little help problem-solving issues either. The customer service experience seemed like a giant chore to staff. It was disappointing.
This was an excellent place to stay while attending a conference at London ExCel. Easily walkable, just off the Queen Elizabeth line. Clean and comfortable accommodation.
Very good, clean rooms - everything worked, great shower etc. Staff couldn’t do enough to help. Fun and funky. Would stay again
Very impressed
Drove up to London for a couple of days to take the kids out to museums and needed somewhere east to drive to with a car park to ditch the car & picked the Moxy & wasn’t disappointed. The room we had was much bigger than other hotels in the area we had stayed at. The room had two sections with their own TVs which was great for the kids, the shower room was big and there was a room on the floor to iron your clothes. Staff were excellent in reception and the hotel was very clean. Overall we were very impressed and will stay again in the future instead of visiting the novatel near the excell.
The staff were amazing 😍
Lovely clean room
Room clean and a good size. Did not try the food as I did not want to eat breakfast. Good hotel for a good price
Great hotel with awful staff
Reception is the bar and bar customers take priority, the staff tried everything to not make any eye contact with me and i waiting over 10 minutes to be checked in. The first words the lady said to me was “PHOTO ID” No please or thank you. Check out was even worse! Such a shame as the hotel is clean, modern, funky and in a great location. Clearly a management issue here!!!!!!
Great and convenient
Really great hotel that I will stay in again with easy access to the Excel London and good connections into London. Rooms are spacious and new and the free coffee and grab and go for food is brilliant. They also helped me out as I forgot my toothbrush and they offered me a free pack really attentive
From the outside this hotel doesn't look very appealing, this was even more the case when we pulled into the allocated parking area. But once you step inside the building it is like passing through a portal. It was very modern and well decorated and myself and ithers in my group were very impressed with our room.
The TV was soo dark I thought the backlight had broken. Because your TV remotes don't allow anything other than to change the channel from the awful 'hotel brand TV channel' or to turn the volume up to 90 because it's so quiet, I couldn't turn the brightness up. The light that doesn't go off for 34 seconds under the bed only illuminates where the cleaner's Hoover hasn't quite been for several months. The heating/air conditioning did nothing other than to make noise. And the overflowing bins in the courtyard outside the window were an interesting touch. However, the staff were great and really friendly. The bar is certainly the best in the area (residents from other hotels came to us as we had the best bar). But nothing is more depressing than a Travelodge bar...trust me. Breakfast was also really good (frozen hash browns but the staff swapped them immediately when notified). I'm at ExCel a lot as I'm a contractor so I'll be staying at the Moxy instead of the Ibis from now on. Thanks
Stayed in the 6th floor really noisy, no sleep for 3 nights !!
Nice hotel shame about the beds
Nice hotel - service excellent- rooms very nice but beds could be more comfortable
Fantastic stay a really nice hotel.
A lovely stay at Moxy excl, would recommend the breakfast as well really nice.
TV connection was a nightmare
I wasn't happy with the TV connection to mobile device as it wasn't great and I kept Calling at the reception desk to fix it. Aside that it's a great 👍 lovely place to stay and spend time with beautiful views off the docklands.
It was very contemporary, well run, clean and the staff were very accommodating
Room was quite hot
Nice hotel and great value
A relaxed hotel with a nice social area downstairs next reception with a few games to play and a pool table. Room was very hot upon entry and pillows weren't the comfiest but apart from that the room especially the layout was great.
Great hotel and facilities reasonably priced
Very safe and easy to get to and from Excel for two older ladies- that’s important when you reach a certain age!
Amazing experience
My friends and I spent 2 nights at Moxy Hotel and our experience was great! The receptionist and staff were very friendly and welcoming. This made checking in very easy and stress free. The hotel facilities and environment are neat and very serene. The rooms had all the basic essentials one need and was relatively spacious. We stayed in the twin bed room and the bed is very comfy. The interior aesthetic is great too. I stayed on the 6th floor and the view from my window is non comparable(beautiful scenery view). The WiFi connection was seamless. My overall experience was amazing.
Lovely staff upon greeting. Really nicely design throughout the hotel. The room was cosy and well kept. Nice and modern and very easy to find. Close to the DLR. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Nicest Hotel In The Area
Literally had the most wonderful stay in a stunning hotel with lots of visual personality. Very modern and chic exterior to fun, dynamic, and yet professional interiors. Our room was family sized and space was never an option for four people. The lighting in the beside table was genius, as was the motion sensor under bed lighting. We even had two TVs in the lounge part and the bedroom area. It was honestly amazing with what we got for the price. Breakfast had an extensive selection, so were spoilt for choice the entire time we were there. Would definitely stay at this place again for Excel events.
Great hotel, with a wonderfully quirky feel
Squished in between a Holiday Inn Express and another budget hotel, the Moxy is a lovely, comfortable haven of slightly funky but nicely furnished place. It feels more like a local quirky venue with friendly staff, nice interior and a very nice bedroom (great swivel chair and a neat bathroom, too). My room was £75 for the night and, for London, I’d fully expect to pay double that. The bedroom wasn’t huge, but it was organised and furnished well.
Had another great stay. 2 nights, comfy room, good location for what we had planned.
I was having problems with a flight booking and the stass could not have been more helpful
Good location, close to DLR and Excel. Good parking. Mirror by the socket for hairdryer, for my wife be appreciated .
Stayed for one night with family and friends whist at a concert. The hotel itself is absolutely lovely. Gorgeous bed and room. Very clean, fab amenities. Only problem with the room was that the settee bed did not have a mattress, our booking was for 4 people. I was a surprised the room was not ready/checked for my booking. Upon leaving for the evening at 7, I informed the receptionist and was told that this would be rectified upon our return. Fast forward to 1:50 am, I was very disappointed to find that we still had no 2nd bed. I once again went back to reception to report the problem and was given an alternative room for myself and son. This was appreciated considering the early hour, although I would have preferred to stay in the room originally booked altogether.
I loved this hotel! Very modern space and the ambiance is very relaxed and calm. I know the airport is right next to the hotel and the sound may be annoying for some but I was too tired to even notice in the night. The only thing is the shower curtains need some change because they do look old but other than that, great option to stay at
Good for City Airport, Excel and O2 Arena
Not the party hotel it portrays on the website but spotlessly clean rooms, great shower and comfy bed. Games and bar area OK but quiet. Location is great for transport: DLR 5 mins walk away Elizabeth line 10 and City Airport is across the road. Fox Connaught pub good for standard pub food and a Chinese restaurant with good reviews (didn't try) but other than that nothing around.
Much better than expected
Stayed for two nights. Good price, nice breakfast, roomy family room, was clean and no bed bugs! I didn't get used to the automatic room door though, maybe too fancy for me. I have to put the large chair behind the door at night to feel secure.
Easy access to LCY and Excel. DLR station being a quick walk opens up London for sightseeing.
Stayed for one night in a twin room on the 6th floor. Check in was easy and room and hotel was clean. Loved the ambiance of the hotel and relaxed feel. DLR station nearby and walkable distance to the Excel Centre. Look forward to staying again soon.
Nice hotel, few improvements needed
Warm welcome on arrival, room was clean and as described, however was on the top floor and I think there was something on the roof made of metal that made noises throughout the night, so did not sleep well as it kept waking me up. Breakfast was average, bit chaotic seating so not relaxed.
It’s a very clean and comfortable hotel. Good rooms, good bed. However some of the receptionists act like they are doing you a favour by answering questions. And just seem to be behind the reception desk looking cool. The location is bad. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. No restaurants, shops or cafes. I assumed Docklands had developed, but this area is barren.
Absolutely great hotel, would use again!
Was an amazing stay staff very friendly rooms very clean I would definitely go again but take my mum this time 🙂
Nice clean friendly and modern hotel great choice at breakfast
My three daughters and I stayed over night to catch the early flight. Nice and clean rooms and very friendly staff. We will come again! Thank you.
Excellent hotel
It was an amazing stay . The services were excellent . My family really liked the stay . I would recommend it for sure .
