I strongly believed our room had mold problems. both my husband and I had headaches, sinus, and congestion every single night we stayed at the hotel. When we were out and about, we were fine. As soon as we stepped into our room, we started getting sick. We went to Ha Long Bay after 3 nights; we were both fine. Never again staying at the hotel that you can't open the windows.
Beautiful hotel. Comfortable bed , great shower & breakfast buffet was amazing.
It is a great hotel, just a bit far from the old quarter
Hotel water system link to my room was disrupted and no water to the toilet from 5am till noon.We have to use the gym or hotel other common toilet to do morning business and bath😲.The hotel could do was one apologised letter and one extra complement breakfast after such a morning hustle and frustration for my wife and I and also late for my morning meeting!!
Mövenpick Hanoi
Location and staff are good. Decor is really dated. Would be better with brighter rooms. Lights are dim. Breakfast is below average
Newly remodeled. Clean and cozy
Good location with plentiful restaurants just walking, spoilt for choice, hotel staff extremely helpful
Good location, clean hotel, friendly staff Would recommend to friends and have no hesitation in booking again
It's very good when compare with the others.
Great stay
We stayed for 4 days. It was comfortable stay, and
Love the rooms and the breakfast too! Location was great! Would definitely return!
Friendly staff. Otherwise typical chain hotel: overpriced, small room and thin walls. Quite convenient location.
Only two elevator, too slow.
Good but something wrong
Friendly staff and Comfortable stay but location is not closed to hot spot and Two shirts and one pant were missing in the room.
A 5 star hotel without pool, sauna, hot tub etc? Really?
We totally enjoyed our stay at Movenpick Hanoi! The staff were very friendly and helpful! Wide spread of food choices for breakfast! Cosy place to be in! The only cons I would say is that the curtains could not totally cover up the windows and hence, lights shine into the room when there's Sun. Secondly, the water from the shower rose would leak out of the shower cubicle when you are having a shower as there is not plastic sealer to stop the water from leaking from beneath the shower door. It makes the floor wet, would be good if the Technical Team could resolve this problem. Otherwise, it is really a lovely hotel to stay in and I will definitely stay here if I visit Hanoi again!
Great hotel. Will definitely consider again
Staff was amazing, the checkin and very early checkout as well. Fast wifi, great room. Everything was clean and over expectations. Will go again
Good buffet spread
We stayed in room.918, the moment we steped into the room i could smell moulds coming from The aircon. The airconditioning wasnt working well. The technician didnt come back after reviwing after our complain at 2am. The wasnt any service recovery and We had to put up with warm room in our entire 2 nights stay. Totally upset and frustrated with our 2 nights stay.
The hotel is pretty and very good location. I left two jackets when I checked out and flew to HCMC. I tried to call to hotel when I arrive in HCMC at 9:30pm to ask them to courier my jackets but no one answered the phone. I tried the number for 1 hour on 24 3822 2800 still no one answers. I will ring them tomorrow and hopefully they will answer the phone. I am leaving for another country on Monday and I hope to get my two jackets for conference before I leave Vietnam. I think someone should answer the reception phone 24/7 as a five star hotel
i like the complmentary chocolate bar ... and the overall ambience of the hotel reception and room anmd people service i did not like the walk away from the hoan kiem lake although not far .. it would help with a nice pool amenity together with a bigger gym 24 hrs access even if there is no attendent
On 29 Apr, we wanted to ask how is the weather for the day, in deciding whether to bring our raincoats or umbrella out, and received the following response from the hotel receptionist with the initials “Dz...” “I do not have superpowers, so I cannot tell you how is the weather like today” Given the branding of Movenpick, it was definitely an unexpected response to hear.
Clean and comfy, but surrounding dors not have any shopping mall or nearby food outlet. But is a 10 to 15 min ride to old quarters.
Happy to return
Back again this hotel and expierence was great as in the past. All staffs are friendly, accomodating, helpful. Moana the interna from Switzerland working at the front desk concerns her guests, proactively offer anything needed. Shall come back if I visit Hanoi again.
Comfortable Experience
We stayed here a total of 5 nights over 3 check-ins within 8 days. The building, the rooms and the amendities were well maintained, decently decorated and was in good condition. Very comfortable. What stood out most and what probably will bring us back to Movenpick Hanoi is definitely the friendliness of the staff here. The service you ecieved from the moment you stepped out of the cab to the moment you get back into another Was probably a true reflection of the altitude of the people in this beautiful country. But the service here was more than courteous. The staff we encountered were always kind, friendly, soft-spoken and were always willing to offer assistance. The Front Office staff would addressed us in our last name. And, when they heard form my wife that I was down with a flu and had to stay in bed to rest, they took the initiative to offer to bring me soup or other comforting food. A nice and a heart-felt gestures. Thank you. Thanks especially to the you Swiss lady who is on interership.
Overall location is good, room is clean and comfortable, breakfast is good. Front desk can be improve as I ask for single king bed instead of double bed, my request was rejected by saying the hotel was very full. Yet I am able to “test” book the same room with single king bed and was available. As a VIP properties, I was not informed on the additional benefit as well.
Nice hotel, wonderful staffs and very convenient location
Great
Second time staying there. Check in process was professional and friendly. Rooms are clean, big and comfortable. Was pleasantly surprised by the welcome fruits and desserts. Only thing was came back to my hotel room at around 4pm and my room was still not cleaned. The nice lady came to clean my room shortly. Probably just an exception as opposed to a common issue since this was the first time this has happened during my stays with this hotel. Overall very good experience and will stay there again. Great if you want a place that is away from the hustle and bustle of the Hoan Kiem and Old Quarters area but yet close enough to walk there.
The location is excellent for access to some of the most interesting tourist sites in Hanoi.
Good 5 star Hotel in good location
Very nice hotel, staff was friendly, room was comfortable and clean and location was good. Would stay here again.
Good hotel but need to improve wifi
Good rooms, food , cleanliness but need good wifi . Very poor wifi
Nice hotel, although it is not at the central area of Hanoi (at least 20-25 minutes from the city centre). They managed to arrange connecting rooms for my parents and I, but forgot about my request for their birthday celebration. I was also taken by surprise that the hotel staff said breakfast was not included at the beginning, although I bought it as a package through expedia. Luckly, it was all sorted out. Anyway, it was a pretty comfortable and nice hotel and the hotel staff were all friendly.
Good location, well maintained, courteous and helpful staff.
Good hotel, comfortable room although not very spacious. Badly surprised by the price required for breakfast, brings the overall cost equal to better and more luxurious hotels
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very good and close to commerce and sightseey spots.
Good choice
Nice hotel and good location.
Nice Hotel Tasty Pho for breakfast. Good access to the city with the use of Grab.
Excellent Stay at Moverpick Hanoi.
It was a fantastic stay at Movenpick Hanoi. The staff were approachable and competent to converse in English. They were helpful and able to answer our queries about local transportation and places of interest. The hotel was also very understanding to allow us to check-out late as our flight back to Singapore was in the evening. The breakfast spread was good and the pho served at the restaurant was superb. Overall, I rate this 5/5 stars.
Close to old quarter. Convenient near coffee shop and easy access to museums
A short stay but a good one
It was just one night stay for few hours. Room as nice. Service was good. Overall I am satisfied.
A clean and sophisticated hotel. A bit of a walk to both the old and french quarter. I felt speaking to the concierge the few times i wanted her assistance was very challenging as her English skills arent sufficient. Quickly redeemed by the wonderful front desk staff who had someone deleiver a sim card for me. Bery fomfortable room, beds and pillows.
Nice place to stay in Hanoi
Nice hotel, good amenities. Coffee machine in room would be helpful
Great hotel, very modern and clean. Staff where really helpful. Location is slightly out the way from the old town and shopping but nice restaurants in walking distance and convenient for business trip.
Great old quarter hotel
Movenpick hotel is elegant with traditional touch. Service is top notch. Close to eateries and bars.
Clean and comfortable
Long way from the sights if you want to look around... got sent to the wrong hotel by staff when leaving and taxi driver could not understand so paid again for another taxi to take us to correct hotel. Travel desk was average. Surcharges were a bit excessive.
The staff was really nice and accommodating even though we arrived later than expected.
Clean, quiet hotel with very attentive staffs
A clean, comfortable, quiet hotel with very attentive staffs who not only take good care of their guests while they are there but also even after they left the hotel when they followed up on some of my clothes that I left behind by mistake. Makes you feel to come back anytime.
Great hotel. Previous 2 nights we stayed at 2 different boutique hotels. We found the boutique hotels staff at the check in a lot friendlier and keener than MovenPick, who were more matter of fact and less passionate in their attitude. MovenPick restaurant and door staff were great and helpful. perhaps the front office staff should learn a thing or 2 from the restaurant staff.
Crap wifi
Wifi was crap... elevators wereslow and often card rwmeader didnt work. Staff was friendly
I totally loved the room, excellent colour combination, soothing lighting, and good room amenities, reminding me of hotel room in France
Fantastic centrally located city hotel
Hotel and staff very good, the general manager was always visible amongst all the staff and hosted excellently. The amenities, and quality of food in conjunction with staff who would go the extra mile to ensure all your requirements were catered for. All in all a fantastic base a short walk to the old quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake.
Shocking service and facilities.
I was extremely disappointed with this property due to several things that happened during my stay. First of all, as Expedia VIP+ member, no adequate amenities were offered upon arrival, which I didn't mind too much. Upon entering the room however, the air conditioning was not working. It took house keeping a few hours to get it up and running after uncomfortable visits from staff and the use of ladders in the room. I was so tired from the long day of traveling to Hanoi and hoped that the room would be adequately prepared. On the third day of my stay, I was away from the room until late and when I came back, there was a smell of dead rats or something. House keeping sprayed something over the room which smelled very sour and entirely ruined my room service dinner. The smell returned after an hour and I was forced to sleep in a room suffocating. Late in the evening I received a call from the concierge asking if I wanted to use the airport hotel transfer. After I told him it was too expensive, he pushed for me to book a taxi quoting a price twice the market fare. I declined, but he kept pushing 3 more times! This kind of service is absolutely shocking from a 5 star hotel! Upon check out 10% VIP+ discount was not offered and I forgot about it in a rush. Overall, this was an unpleasant experience, full of hiccups and surprises. Will not be staying at an Movenpick hotel again.
you are not allowed to vape in the smoking rooms hotel staff told me the spa was open when it was not smoking room smells funny room reclining chair did not recline.
Nice small hotel with drawback on staff
This is a nice small hotel near Hoa Lo Prison and 15 mins walk to Old Quarter. Its like a French old mansion. Obviously there's renovation, but somehow it still couldn't cover the damp smelling which seems from a long past. The staff varies......Ms. Lam who helped me to check in is a very polite, helpful, patience, and help us out with everything we need. She could greet me by my name, feels like home. However, I also had an experience with a terrible staff. I asked that staff about sending a post card, and he just bluntly asked me for USD 2 and gave him the post card. He didn't say what is he going to do with it. After back home, I felt a bit uncomfortable with my missing post card, so I emailed the hotel about that, but never get a reply. Feel pretty disappointing about that, as I have completed my stay and the hotel can just ignore me.
Ridiculous
can anyone imagine this brand of hotel with no water for shower?
Great services, great food in hotel restaurant
Amazing. We got a honeymoon treat with a better room with free upgrade , beautiful flowers +cake
Nice business hotel
Great location. Room were clean, spacious and comfortable. Good for both business and travelers on vacation.
Convenient hotel near city centre
Convenient, Friendly, Clean and great value with efficient staff
Smallish hotel with big room
Staff were courteous and helpful from the minute you step into the hotel. Were pleasantly surprised with the large room. Clean and well kept. Gym fairly well equipped.
Five star hotel, five star rating in all services. 15 minutes walk to old quarter.
Nice Hotel - Good Location
It was a great vacation with great staff service! Both my wife's Birthday and our anniversary were well celebrate. Minimum technical problems (appliances) which were all addressed immediately and provides multiple solutions. It is only missing a pool!
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, easy location to get around Hanoi.
Nice hotel, breakfast buffet, shops, restaurants
Nice hotel, good breakfast, close to restaurants, shops, staff are courteous and efficient.
Perfect City hotel - great service
Kind staff, good service all around hotel from driver to front Desk to restaurant and cleaners, good location and nice clean hotel, will come back
Average Hotel in Hanoi
All the staff at the hotel was friendly and very helpful. There is road noise which you can hear even on 9th floor if your room is facing the road side. I noticed the following issues that are related to Hotel's Management and their training of staff: 1) When I arrived at my room , I found it to be open and ajar. Room did not have enough towels or any soap. I had to call the front desk. 2) While I was checking out I was made to pay some hotel charges in cash . Hotel's excuse was that their credit card connection to the bank doesn't work. Paying in Cash was the only option the hotel offered me. This is supposed to be a five star hotel that doesn't have a back up plan for such situations. . So it kind of looks to me that one might end up in prison if he doesn't have enough cash in person. I will not charge anything to the room in this hotel. 3) Every time I went to get some more food at the breakfast buffet, I found out that my seat is assigned to other customers. Waiting staff doesn't have a clue how to seat customers and where !
Perfect hotel
Super stay at our hotel, everything was quite perfect, service was excellent nothing negative to say. They sent me back an item, that i forgot- brigitte & peter.
Cozy, Spacial and Good Location
Location: Great for those new to Hanoi city, to explore its more quite streets and local views Room: The interior was especially nice and cozy. The lighting was just nice, not to dark or dull. As for the plugs were enough for guest's convenience. Overall: Would highly recommend for guests who wants to feel at home away from home to come stay at this hotel.
Excellent Hotel
Excellent hotel.
Close to shopping places
Hotel staff were friendly, helpful & quick to respond to our needs. Thanks esp to Linh for accompanying me to the clinic
Hotel is clean and location is good
Nice central hotel
Very good
Swiss hospitality at its best!
An amazing establishment that will make me wanna come back. Great breakfast spread and room was such a haven to rest and relax in.
Fabulous location
Great location, service and excelllent room comfort.
Wonderful stay in Hanoi
I am thoroughly impressed with this property. From the warm welcome at check-in, to the comfortable, clean, well-appointed room, and finally, to the service received at the restaurant during breakfast. The staff is friendly and very hard-working, across all levels. I initially had some feedback after my first stay (I stayed here twice, during one trip), and the GM was responsive, he listened, and really set the bar high during my second part of my stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody looking to visit Hanoi. The price is great, and while it's not as close to many restaurants and the famous Hoan Kiem Lake as some other hotels, it is easily walkable (and walking around Hanoi is quite pleasant once you understand the flow of traffic). I do like the area the hotel is located in, as it's quiet (near various embassies) and away from the chaos that one can find in the Old Quarter. And while Hanoi has some amazing food, I must say that the breakfast at the hotel was delicious and included a great spread of Western and Asian (and specifically, Vietnamese) options. Their croisssants and pain au chocolat were my favorite. I won't hesitate to book here again!
Love the rooms and staff
comfortable stay, nice rooms, very friendly staff, exellent
Gym and wellness spa
Friwndly , helpful staff at the gym and wellness spa. Some issues with the shower doors and water leakage and requests are met well. Reception could be less officious though.
Perfect hotel in perfect location
This was the perfect hotel for us in Hanoi... about 10 min walk from Old Quarter (making it ideal - not to close to the craziness but close enough to go there whenever you wanted). Rooms are clean, staff very professional, service amazing
Staff nice, food good, room towels need to clean well still smell and blow dryer so bad.
Excellent service, great location, nice rooms. Staff very helpful and accommodating!
Great Place and near Old Quarters
Great location, within walking distance to the old quarters. Hotel Breakfast was good. Room was decent and warm for 2 even though it was for one night only
Comfortable
Not the greatest location for tourists. Walking in the evening difficult.
Good value for money
We had a nice two night stay at this hotel. Pricing was great. Breakfast was good but not great. Staff very friendly. Location meant that we mostly caught taxis to sightsee and dine.
Good location
Good view good location and clean.
Misalinged
Don't be taken in by the photo of the hotel. It is in a very busy neighbourhood and noisy street. I asked to be changed to a back room which was available, but only a twin room instead of a king room. Generally this hotel is very overpriced and seems to be focused on charging as much as possible for services. For example I enquired as to the price of an airport pick up and was quoted 1.5 Million for a 5 seater car or 1.7 Million for a 7 seater van. I paid 300,000 and 240,000 to and from the airport using Hanoi Airport Transfer, booking ahead of time. The breakfast is good, but again compared to what you can pay in town, it's high end. Overall the hotel felt cramped and not aligned with its star rating.
Good Hotel
Comfortable hotel with a good location. Not very close to the happening part of Old Quarter but was great for a business trip. Wifi was pretty decent.
Great hotel and very accommodating staff with a terrific restaurant in a good location.
GOOD SERVICE
GOOD SERVICE BUT NO SWIMMING POOL
Good hotel!
Great !
Good hotel !
Great!
Personal service
Good location. Staff friendly and helpful. Arranged private tour for us. Easy for Ha Long Bay pick up.
Great hotel in a good neighborhood
It's a great hotel. The staff are kind and courteous. The breakfast spread was good, but can be better. The rooms are quiet good and spacious. I stayed with my family and we all liked the place. It is nearer to the old quarters, actually walkable which made it a great plus.
Name on arrival
Took a while to realise that the taxi had taken you to the correct hotel as the signage at the entry is only a gold plaque on the wall. As usual when you book in as a single they always try to put in two single bed room in lieu of what you booked. But once you challenge them an say you will issue a dissatisfied blog they suddenly fine the correct room even though they are fully booked. Staff service excellent other then trying the room trick and accommodation was as described and overall experience a good one
Excellent hotel
The room was very spacious, clean, quiet and well equipped. The staff are friendly, pro active and knowlegeable. The location has a beautiful view of the bay
Absolutely Charming & Cosy!
This hotel gives a home feeling. The room are really well decorated. Not too big, not too small either. Really well located too! You can walk to the lack/center within 10 min.
Amazing trip and stay
Lovely hotel with great staff
The staff were very friendly and took good care of us.
Nice hotel, good location and very efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of foods.
