Great stay
Really nice stay. Air conditioning was great for the heat wave and my older mother. Restful nights sleep. Great area and location to center of city. We walked everywhere.
Great area for walking to shopping, dining and attractions.
Great location and immaculate hotel
Close to transportation and attractions like the Viktualienmarkt, with dining, shopping and bar options nearby. Hotel parking is limited, as is on-street parking in the area. Due to COVID-19 limits, breakfast is only available in timed slots currently, so wasn't able to take advantage of it.
Location is perfect.....hotel is immaculate!
Excellent location, great breakfast.
We were thrilled with Motel One. It was a lovely location, convenient parking, and excellent staff. The breakfast buffet was incredibly impressive- I especially loved the soft boiled eggs and coffee. We spent Christmas Eve in the hotel bar with a large host of other visitors and it was very pleasant. Great selection of drinks, too! 5/5 would stay again. Very walkable.
The hotel is very nice and the price is reasonable
We arrived before check in time, but were able to leave our bags while we went sight seeing for the day. Very close to the city transportation. Clerk gave us some recommendations on sight to see for the day.
Ok for short stay
Clean, service good and handy area of the city. Personally I didn't find the pillows very comfortable but everyone is different. Bedroom carpets a bit worn. I didn't eat there so can't comment on food. Free Wi Fi
Good stay!
I had a good stay with Motel One München @ Sendlinger Tor. The room was really clean, very comfortable and the staffs were very nice and helpful. I had the breakfast for the 2 nights stay and it was a good one, a good choice of Meats, Bread and Coffee however for both days, i saw the same food, there was no changes in the choices on both days. However, the room heater wasn't working when i there, but since it was in a comfortable temperature for me when i was there, i was okay with it and didn't inform the staff but i can imagine needing to change the room if the room heater wasn't working when the weather is much colder. The Hotel location is great, walking distance to most of the sights, felt really safe in the area too. I would recommend staying here if it is your first time in Munich.
Fantastic hotel, with welcoming staff, excellent value for money , great food. right in the centre of a Munich. I will definitely stay there again. thank you Motel One
This is how a basic hotel should be
Great location!! Super comfortable and clean.
Excellent location. Although room was a little tight, shower was also excellent.
This was a nice hotel with a good location, not right in the middle of the chaos but a short walk to all the things you want to see. It was a standard and clean hotel room. Staff was courteous. The restaurant did not serve dinner, which was a small disappointment. But there are plenty of restaurant nearby. The only other problem I had was that there was no landline in the room, which was an issue because I had poor cell phone reception.
Happy Stay in Munich
Helpful staff and a great location for exploring the city.
well worth it
good location, clean, excellent bar drinks... parking a bit sketchy
Great experience!
I love the new firm mattress! Location was terrific-- so close to the downtown attractions. Staff was terrific
a very nice stay
highest quality hotel with friendly staff. Everything spotless and a atmospheric bar in the lounge. Great view to the east, short walk to most landmarks, right by metro and shopping. Great location
Great value for money!
Simple and nice room. Next to the center of the city. The check in and check out were very fast.
Modern clean hotel in historic old town Munich
Small rooms but modern clean and comfortable . On site parking and steps from one of several Christmas Markets . Large elevators .
Great location - 10 minute walk to Marienplatz
Good location, small-ish rooms. Quiet, clean. Staff is reserved but professional
Very clean and modern.
Great hotel and location. Beautiful lobby with bar, food and plenty of lounge seating. Rooms on smaller side but very comfortable and functional. Bathroom clean and modern.
Nice clean central hotel
Nice centrally located hotel. Friendly staff. Close walk to restaurants and city attractions. Metro also just around the corner.
Good value for short stayover
We stayed for 2 nights here and it was nice, close to the market and city town hall. Half of the surrounding area is abit "ghetto" but the other half is very nice and cosy. Room is quite small but comfy. Good value, would recommended for short stayover.
Motel One is a gem! The location, service and the price was amazing! I'm looking forward to staying to another Motel One. The front desk people were superb! Happy traveller here!
Great little hotel 10 minute walk to Marienplatz
Lots to see and do in and around the hotel. Good breakfast in the morning which is an add on to the stay. Air conditioning struggled in the 90 degree heat of summer.
Loved our stay.
Great location, great staff
Located about 10 mins walk from main train station. Xmas market at the end of the street. Good choice of wine and food available. Easy 10 min walk to centre of town at Marienplatz. Very, very quiet with attentive and helpful staff. Rate it highly
Nice new hotel
Nice new hotel. Quite small rooms.
Excellent location - old town & transport hub
Excellent location for Marienplatz and for the Hoffbrauhaus/old town. Same as the rest of the Motel One chain - very new and modern. USB plugs which saves taking the socket part of phone chargers. Well located, clean and comfortable.
Good value for money in historic location
Our first stay at a Hotel/Motel One so didn't know what to expect. We were happily surprised to find a very good quality establishment at a good tariff price. Staff friendly and efficient. Stayed 4 nights beginning of September 2015. I would recommend this hotel. The only drawbacks would be that some "homeless" people sometimes frequent the park opposite. Like many hotels in Europe they might like to consider sheer curtains on windows for privacy.
Great location in Munich!
Great, modern hotel, with AC. Room was a little crowded, but great location!
Excellent location, excellent hotel
We loved our stay at motel one - very friendly, helpful staff and clean well taken care of rooms and facilities. An easy walk to all things Munich has to offer! Would definitely come back again.
Small but nice rooms and good location. Excellent value.
honeymoon
great hotel and quiet, the staff were kind and helpful
Great stay
A very good overall experience. I've stayed at this chain before and they are always comfortable, reliable and good value for money. This one is particularly well located in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to the City Centre.
Very good no-frills hotel
Clean, budget hotel in a good location for sightseeing in Munich. Rooms are small but beds are very comfortable and air conditioning is great. Bathrooms again are small but decent facilities. Shower get is provided but not soap. Breakfast has a good range of choice but can get very busy. Staff were on the whole polite but all encounters were brief. One member of staff was rude to my partner during breakfast.
Nice basic hotel
The hotel has an excellent location right next to one of the metro stations and within a reasonable walk (5-10 minutes) to the Marienplatz and other attractions. The common areas and rooms are nicely decorated. Though the rooms are a little on the small side, they are in excellent condition. We found the staff to be exceptional...friendly, helpful, etc. If you're expecting a luxury hotel you will be disappointed, but as a inexpensive travel option we found Motel One to be more than adequate and were pleased with our stay. We would stay again.
A short stay gem
This new chain of Motel One in Europe is a real discovery. Very design conscious and almost there with respect to service. Just need to get steam irons and a box of tissues in the rooms and this stay would have been perfect.
This was the most enjoyable hotel experience I have had in a long time. The rooms are small but perfectlyt Designed and offer everything you could possibly want. Can't beat the price and location!
The hotel is modern and in a great location. The staff was very helpful. The rooms are very small, even by European standards.
Modern and Clean Hotel
We stayed for 2 nights. Room and hotel were very clean. Room was basic and no frills but it did the job. I'd stay there again.
As with all motel ones, central location, clean tidy comfortable rooms for a budget price
Affordable, convenient, but compact room in Munich
This hotel is in a very convenient location. There are ample restaurant and shopping opportunities within a 15 minute walking radius. There is also a U-Bahn station about 2 minutes from the hotel lobby, and a Tram station about 5 minutes from the lobby (5 minutes only because you must wait for the signal to cross a main thoroughfare to get to the station). The room itself (#601) was small in comparison to rooms we stayed in during this trip to Salzburg, Vienna, Prague, Munich, and Zurich. There is space to store items in open cubes on the wall, and a hanging rack on the wall, but there is no room safe, no closet, no refrigerator, and the bathroom was quite compact as well. The room was clean and the air temperature was great. The lobby is very open and friendly. The hotel provided free apples on one of the days we were there. They also have a breakfast buffet that was busy, but there are many options nearby for food/coffee/tea, etc... The staff were helpful with directions, though did not know much about Schloss Neuschwanstein in Fussen.
Highly recommend!
The motel one was great! The location was perfect as it was just far enough to walk off dinner, and it was a clean, safe area. The room didn't have a fridge and was quite small, but the bed, air con and bathroom were great and very clean. Station out the front and 10 min walk from main station. Highly recommend!
Fantastic location, great staff, nice room outlook.
Easy accessible and clean
Motel One near Sdl Tor was clean, the design modern and service ok. The lobby had light. But the chairs were not allways so comfortable: more higher chairs better for business people who must sit so much. Even bar chairs preferred than as such looking design chairs. Very near everything. Not noicy.
Watch out for the scam when paying for the room
Don't opt to pay in your local currency, pay in the currency of hotel. They don't tell you he conversion which is a lot worse than your bank conversion rate, felt like I was scammed to be honest! Otherwise clean room and good area.
No Telephone in the Room!!
every thing was good expect there is no telephone in the room, so we couldn't ask for any thing!!
Nice hotel
Nice hotel, great breakfast but very small room. No air conditioning while sleeping - very hot, but this seems to be the standard.
Excellent
Great hotel. Would stay again.
We'll stay here again!
The location of the hotel is great. Very nice interior. Room turned out to be rather warm(in April) but we probably could have managed it better. Highly recommend it and this chain.
couple stay
Great hotel ! Everything we could want in a hotel
Nice Hotel in Central Location
The staff was welcoming and pleasant. They room was large enough for two people. Sheets, pillows, and covers were clean. The bathroom was spacious with a large stand-up shower; hot water readily available. The sink counter had plenty of space for various toiletries.
Great Location Good short stay hotel
This budget hotel is very well situated. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main train station (HBF), but still close enough to walk to. (about 12-15 minutes). It is on a quiet street, a 2 minute walk to the main pedestrian mall which is the centre of life in Munich. Many shops and restaurants very close by with every type of food available. The rooms themselves are small (but cosy). Not much space to hang clothes, very minimalist design. All that is provided toiletries wise is liquid soap/shampoo and your towels. No real amenities. (no coffee or tea, no fridge, no safe, etc.) There is a bar/snack restaurant in the lobby which is actually quite nice. WiFi was excellent throughout my stay which was a total of four nights. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I have stayed in others of this chain which are also good. Good budget choice
Stylish, simple, pleasant hotel in City Centre.
We have just come back from a short City break in Munich. There are a few Motel Ones' in the City and we choose this one as it is quite centrally located (8-10 minutes walk to Marienplatz) and 1 train stop away (Sendlinger Tor) from the Hauptbahnhof (central train station). Motel One has a modern stylish look with a large lobby area and bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had booked a double room but found it too small so we paid a small fee for an upgrade to a room on the 8th floor which was slightly bigger and had a balcony (with deck chair) with good views across the City Centre. The room was clean and comfortable, perfect for a short break where you may not be using the Hotel facilities so much. USB ports in the bedside plug sockets were handy as was the free WiFi (you can connect up to 3 devices) but no kettle in the room. Noise outside the room was minimal. Breakfast is basic (bread, cereals, fruit, sliced meats, yogurt, tea, coffee, etc.) with no hot items. It is served in the ground floor lobby / bar area and can be paid for on the day. We had breakfast one day and then found a nice coffee shop (open on Sunday) on Sonnenstrasse to go to the following day. This is a well priced (Munich Hotels are not cheap!) and comfortable budget Hotel in the City Centre. I would say "no frills" to be honest. Finally be aware that if there is an exhibition, conference or event going in Munich all the hotels will increase their prices.
Very good location!
Nice Hotel!
very good budget hotel.
This is a great budget hotel in a fantastic location. The room was small and pretty basic but clean and perfectly fine for a long weekend stay. The shower was good although the temperature of the water wasn't as hot as I'd like it. But I suspect the temperature has been set like that deliberately. Also there was no soap, just 2 liquid mini shower gels instead. The bed was so comfortable it was a struggle to get out of it! The breakfast is good. The location is fantastic. It's right next to the underground station and It's just a five minute walk to Marienplatz.
Enjoyed our stay here. Very nice modern hotel close to things to do in Munich.
Stylish hotel in a great location
Motel One Sendlinger was the last property we stayed at on our European holiday and it was fantastic. The lobby was warm and the staff were welcoming; the rooms were stylish with comfortable beds and pillows and a gorgeous bathroom; the motel itself is close to the U Bahn; and there are some great places to eat (try s'Wirtshaus around the corner for some excellent German food and beer). We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back.
Would definitely come back
Loved everything about this hotel. Very clean, decent breakfast, great location. Only a little street noise from the bar down the road at night, but nothing that kept me awake.
Great location, extremely central
Great neighborhood. Room was small but clean, however it did lack some ventilation and water often spilled out of the shower.
Clean, modern, great for a city break
Only complaints would be that the room was too hot and the pillows a little thin. Beds very comfy, great location for travel around the city and outside. Friendly staff. We had USB charging ports on the wall next to the plug which was a brilliant surprise to find and meant no need for a travel adapter.
Great hotel in an excellent location
This is a great hotel which is in a brilliant central location, only 2 stops from Marienplatz S bahn station and 1 stop from Karlplatz S bahn station, which is the easiest and quickest one to get off at for this hotel. It is also literally about a 1 minute walk from the Sendlinger Tor U bahn station. Despite being located so close to all the major areas, the street itself is quiet and there were no issues with any noise, despite my bedroom facing the road. The hotel itself is very modern in design but also feels comfy and homely, particularly if you get a seat next to the fire (well its on a TV screen but looks and feels like a real fire) in the lobby area. The bedrooms are compact but big enough for what is required really. The rain shower is fantastic!! The main downside to the rooms was there were no tea / coffee making facilities or fridge available. We had the buffet breakfast each morning (which costs an additional 7.50 euro), but there was a large and tasty range of choices on offer, so felt this price was reasonable. Overall i would definently reccomend a stay here and i would book here again if returning to Munich.
Rooms are far too small.
The Motel One München Sendlinger Tor is a decent budget hotel in a nice part of Munich within walking distance to the old town city center and easily accessible by public transport. While the hotel is clean and the staff are very helpful, the standard rooms are not just small, they are too small - even by European standards. There is no closet and nowhere to place luggage. The rooms have a bed and a small desk and that's it. If you have more than one or two pieces of luggage, you will be stepping/tripping over it as the only place to put it is on the floor next to the bed. Two extra feet of floor space in any direction would fix this problem, but that is not likely to happen.
Convenient, clean, friendly.
Hotel is very clean and modern and in a very convenient location. The staff were very friendly and helpful and more than happy to help me find my next local destination. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Munich.
Unwind in Munich
Hotel location was very good. Well lighted and lightly travelled made returns at night comforting. Modern lobby with a good breakfast. Efficient elevators also.
Modern hotel but not much character.
When you walk in the reception of this hotel really gives a great impression, it it sleek, trendy and very modern. The staff were friendly but did not go above and beyond to help their guests or be extra friendly, as they have in other places we have stayed. When we reached our room, we were disappointed at the size. We were on a long trip around Europe and this is one of smallest rooms and was not as cheap as others we have stayed in. Therefore I think the room was rather overpriced. Nonetheless, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast is very nice in the hotel, again sitting in the aesthetically pleasing reception area, but there is plenty of choice for all. We were disappointed with the staff during our stay, for example we asked one girl where the nearest supermarket or convenience shop was, and she didn't know. They did not seem very knowledgeable about the area, when we were given a map, we were not given any special tips or information about the city, like we have in other places. The stay was pleasant, nothing major to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. It is a chain hotel and often these can feel quite impersonal. We would return again, if it was a good deal but we may look at other places to stay in Munich that were independent.
Excellent location with very close to subway and easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Comfortable and clean rooms. Very good value for money.
Munich stay
Good overall location. Short walk to Marienplatz and major sights in old town. Reception was friendly and efficient as was the staff at breakfast. Rooms were small by N. American standards but still comfortable. Overall, great value for money spent.
Great location
The hotel is located on the end of a popular block in Munich; making it an ideal as it is walking distance to many landmarks. The hotel has many cafés, restaurants, pubs and about 8 mins. from the train station. Munich is a great city and the Bavarian culture is alive and well. I will definitely return to Munich and will definitely stay at Motel One again.
Best hotel
Location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation and near by restaurants. Not very amicable staff but the rooms were very nice and modern. Will definitely stay here again, these hotels are a great value for the money.
Good location very close to old city
Nice bright clean hotel. Had everything we needed. Good breakfast, comfortable bed. Very helpful staff.
The hotel stay was great, specially for the price! Breakfast was very teasty. The bed was comfortable and bathroom very modern and clean. The only only con were very small room and no toiletries.
Great location and great value. Plenty of good breakfast options on the door step. Car parking at Stacus only €6 for 24 hours!
Great choice for exploring Munich
This hotel is perfectly positioned in the old town if you want to explore Munich. A five minute walk takes you down Sendlinger Strasse to Marienplatz past fancy shops and traditional beer cellars. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful. And although the rooms aren't huge, they're very comfortable and have everything you need. Breakfast was tasty and generous and the bar is fun at the end of an evening. Good value. Recommended!
Small rooms
Lovely hotel, excellent location, very clean , newly refurbished.Only problems was the room was small, we had to move what little furniture there is to get 2 suit cases on the floor(there is nowhere to put them) so we could open them. There is no bedside tables so the alarm clock etc has to go on the floor, I nearly stood on my phone when I got up in the morning. There is no phone in the room, we had a disturbance with other guests arguing in the corridor - but we could not inform reception without walking past them, so the noise continued for over 30 minutes.
Great hotel in a wonderful area o Munich!
The beds in this hotel are soooo comfortable! This is very unusual for hotel beds in Germany. It's a lovely hotel and the staff is very very nice. I would definitely stay there again.
Great Place
Brilliant location right beside u bahn and 10 mins walk from Marienplatz. Hotel is bright and modern with very helpful staff. The rooms are small but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast in the hotel is excellent. I recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again.
Ideal choice
The hotel is well situated on a quiet side road only meters away from an underground station and Sendlinger Tor gate way to the centre. Within walking distance of reasonably priced eateries. Hotel service was excellent from all hotel staff. Hotel decor is of a high standard. Room was smallish, but very comfortable and clean with a boutique feel.
Great location and a beautiful modern hotel
Staff was very pleasant from the get-go, answering all of my silly questions, and had a lot of patience for my attempt at speaking German. Hotel design and appearance is very modern, clean and pretty! Our room was small, but we spent so much time walking around the Marienplatz area, it didn't really matter. Beds were comfy and bathroom so clean and new. Breakfast in the lobby was wonderful. My only complaint - the parking ramp was hard to locate and find your way out of! Other than that, I would definitely recommend a stay here!
Great Price, Location and Hotel
Would absolutely stay here again- great price and location!
Great on a budget
Excellent location, walking distance to many of the best sights, particularly Marienplatz, etc. Rooms are updated and largely clean & comfortable.
perfect location; very nice rooms
Great location within one block of old town, two blocks to underground full service gigantic mall and metro. Parking is at the mall and confusing to find. Rooms really nice. staff helpful.
Good for the price
The hotel was centrally located - parking was 200 yards down the street but they permitted 30 minutes in front of the hotel for load/unload time. The hotel was under renovation so there were dumpsters in front of the hotel causing congestion. Our room was very nice and clean. The buffet for breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly. A small walk park across the street seemed to attract police a lot.
Nice, clean and enjoyed the modern luxuries
Enjoyed every moment spent staying here and would recommend it to my friends and family
Great hotel in great location
This hotel is located about 60m from metro stop and one stop from main station. Approx 10 mins walk to Marienplatz, the main square. Cafés and bakeries close by. Rooms clean and well equipped for price. Breakfast excellent value.
Good value
everything about the accommodation was good except the lack of storage in the room. It wasn't the height of luxury but was excellent when considering the reasonable cost. I'd stay here again.
Good breakfast, relatively small room, very clean.
Very friendly staff and close to central business area. Would recommend.
Great location, great staff
This hotel is very close to the subway and to some nice shops/restaurants so it's easy to get around. The staff is very friendly and the color scheme is very nice. I also like the "fish" they have on the TV set when you walk in the room. It's quite relaxing. Their rooms are pretty small but manageable. We would stay here again.
Loved this place
We got into Munich a little before noon, but our room was already ready. (we expected to ask them to hold our bags and wait until normal check in time). This was a nice surprise. We took the elevator up and were again pleasantly surprised. I can't speak for all the rooms, but we had a very nice view. Our room was on the 5th floor and faced in the direction of Marienplatz. The room was a decent size, with a nice bed. There were shelves on one side of the bed which was great for unpacking our bags without taking up the floor. The shower was fantastic, with a good water pressure and it gets really hot if you want it. WiFi was included. It wasn't the strongest connection (my Skype call didn't go thru well) but adequate for most things. I didn't do breakfast, but the bar/restaurant downstairs all looked really nice. The only minor downside is that it's a little bit out of the center of town. But it's a brief and easy walk to the center of town or to subway stations. I will stay here again if I return to Munich.
Pleasant stay
The hotel is walking distance to the central train station, and Marienplatz. There's a good Bavarian restaurant nearby as well as other good restaurants and cafés. There're also stores and shops 2 min walk away on Sendling Tor Str. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Good location
New and nice hotel to stay. Near to subway. However, rate is high as breakfast is not included.
great location
the staff were very impersonal
Weekend break
Very nice hotel, nothing fancy, but everything clean and comfortable, very well situated only 10 mins from city centre. Staff where always pleasant and helpful, I would certainly stay here again, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Hip hotel
Pleasant modern decor, cute neighborhood, priced right. Comfortable and clean. But no phones in the rooms!! Definite inconvenience when something was needed from the hotel desk: had to go down to the lobby late at night.
Close for city center
The wall are so thin you can hear your neighbors breath!!
The staff was very accomodating. I arrived earlier than check-in time and the person at the desk let me check in early and drop off my bags. That was a big help to me.

Small room but nice
Great location for ease of access to all attractions. Close to underground/Metro. Friendly staff.
