The hotel was lovely. Very clean and close to restaurants, pubs and shopping. The street noise was a little loud but still worth it for the location and price.

Near city center

Horrible. Stay away. We were in the room 103. Not clean and smelled like sewage. The bathroom smelled like urine. There was NO cleaning service. We had to go ask for clean towels. We asked to call the taxi for the airport. Our flight was at 6 am. There was NO taxi. Imagine you are on the street at night in a foreign city with no phone service. We had to go through stress and panic. We deserve a refund!

Great hotel!

It was a lovely old building that that been beautifully refurbished. The facilities were good and the hot breakfasts individually prepared, in addition to a cold buffet. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Rooms are serviced in the afternoons. Opposite the hotel is a nice restaurant, which is very convenient and the No 88 bus direct from the airport stops right outside! The hotel is situated very close to the Gate of Dawn which leads to the old city so is perfectly placed for sightseeing. However the old buildings immediately next door to the hotel are in need of restoration.

Comfort and Friendliness

Our room is very nice, with a comfortable bed. The air conditioning works great! But one of the best features is the concierge, Laura. She has been a delight to talk with and has made our stay extra special.

Very friendly receptionist. Nice atmosphere. Handy for old town square and bus station. Also Railway station. If they could improve anything, it would maybe be a little more selection on the breakfast buffet. I will definitely stay again. As a regular traveller, a refreshing change to staying in a large chain hotel.

Shabbish… the room had the old place smell. Old carpet, old furniture. Bedding was clean. The Garbage bag looked suspicious as if it was emptied after previous guests but not replaced. The location is good.

Good location, very easy to get by and visit the most popular places. Hotel itself is quite nice and clean. One small caveat - some rooms face main street, so it might get a bit noisy if you sleep with an open window.

Great place for the value and awesome location.

2 major drawbacks: there is no lift and the stairs are very narrow. Secondly, my room was not clean. I quickly found an empty bottle of water under the bed and the rug felt like it was not cleaned for months. On top of everything, the bed is very hard to sleep on

Good location and it has charm

Moon Garden hotel is in a good location, walkable to the center and old town. It was clean and well kept, but furniture and decor is a bit outdated.

This modest hotel right on the edge of Old Town packs a lot of value! My room was charming and spacious, with robust a/c and even a (noisy) fridge. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially Juste, who was invaluable when I needed to rebook a flight. There is no elevator, but staff were happy to bring my suitcase upstairs for me. My room had twin beds--very comfortable.

The staff were amazing. I had a problem at the airport and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful in sorting out a problem that could have ruined the trip for me. I’m so grateful for their kindness.

Really enjoyed our stay. Perfect location. Right at the start or old town right next to the gates of dawn. Front desk was great. Housekeeping was great. This place is trying very hard we really appreciated their effort. Within this price range I don't think you could do much better.

The hotel is in a great position for the old town and the airport bus. All staff are friendly, the hotel is spotlessly clean and apart from a kettle, the room has everything you need. Breakfast is lovely, pastries and bread are very fresh. There's no bar or evening restaurant on site but there's plenty near bar and a local supermarket if you want a drink in your room as well as mini-bar. Can highly recommend this hotel and loved my time here.

Perfect location & Wonderful staff!

The room was spacious with two closets, bathrobes, slippers, and shelf space in the bathroom. Location was excellent - we took the 88 city bus from the airport and it dropped us off just a few doors down from the hotel. Plus, the hotel is just outside the old town city gate, so we walked everywhere in Old Town. Breakfast was an amazing array of options with fruit, toast, eggs, salmon, pancakes, coffee, juices - way better than the typical continental breakfast I usually expect. But the most welcoming part of our stay was Justinas and Edgar - they were so helpful and answered our many questions patiently! They even recommended and booked our next hotel in Trakai- and it was wonderful, too! Thank you both!

This is a great 4.5 star boutique hotel on the edge of Old Town. Close to the train and main bus station. Quiet. Air conditioning works great. Not so in most other hotels. Breakfast was a 5/10 buffet. Orange crystal orange juice knocked it down a few points. We would stay again without a doubt.

A really nice hotel. Small, but pretty and in a good location for tourists. Staff were very good and the front desk staff member that we dealt with most was Edgar, who went above and beyond more than once in helping us out. My only minor irritant was parking, which was about 4 blocks away.

Such a charming hotel, very easy 10 minute walk from the bus station--I had a spacious, very clean & well-appointed room with a dormer window--huge bathroom--and thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay. Front desk staff was always helpful, and the breakfast was excellent.

It is very clean and looked after property.Nice breakfast but it would be better by adding plant milk option to it and a kettle in the room. Located next to the Gate of Dawn.Close to town and all attractions.Close to the shops:Maxima,Rimi,Lidl,Turgus. Close to the restaurants.Rooms have fridge and are clean daily. Room service available also massages cleaning/ironing clothes etc. Free Wi-Fi. It was very nice stay just haven't been aware that I still had to pay stay tax.It wasn't much a all but thought it was already included in price.

Room was noisy

Great location, easy stroll to the Old Town. Bus 88 from the airport literally drops you off at the front door of the hotel (takes 15 mins max). Breakfast was typical European contenential fare and although the breakfast area was small, I never had an issue getting a seat. No elevator but the staff carried my suitcase up the stairs for me. No kettle/coffee making items in the room. Biggest issue is that the walls are very thin - you can hear everything in the neighbouring rooms (phone message alerts, tv, conversations etc)

Great place to stay! Right beside Dawn Gate and perfect street to walk into the center of town. There are lots of cages closeby and the train station is walking distance.

A good base for the Old Town.

We stayed at The Moon Garden for 3 nights in December 2018. The hotel is located close to the Old Town and we found it an ideal base. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were a good size and very clean.

Great hotel with problematic parking

Great hotel. The only problem was parking to which you have to walk and leaving the parking was painful. Initially i was not told i had to call hotel from parking so i could get out so i ended up walkibg back to hotel to get instructions. However even after calling hotel from parking when i was ready to leave there was a problem with opening gate.it took nearly an hour to leave parking.

Quite nice.

Good location next to the south entrance of old town and a few steps from the market. Excellent interior with sharp styling. The room had an excellent shower and bath space. No lift in this hotel so you will be taking the stairs, but you probably need the exercise anyway. The only bad thing I encountered was having a room on the top floor with a sloped ceiling, which provided us with many opportunities to smack our heads into. If you don't get a room on the top floor, you will love this hotel.

A quaint little hotel

Moon Garden Art Hotel is a small but nice boutique hotel located within easy walking distance from the central railway and bus stations. It is about 20 mins casual stroll to the main town centre. The room we stayed in was on the 4th floor, the highest level. There is no lift so if one has a number of heavy bags this may be a problem. The room was very clean and basic. However the bed was a bit saggy, being supported by a bed frame and springs. And it squeaks a bit. The room has an attic slope ceiling and often I hit my head at its side if not careful or being aware. Breakfast has a variety of choices and it is located at the basement level.

Modern, clean renovated property located at the end of Old Town close to the Gate of Dawns and bus with direct connection to the airport (15' costing €1). Staff at reception was friendly but don't expect much help (eg with your luggage) or amenities at this properties. There is b-f but no restaurant onsite. Breakfast was decent but no staff to help and here I found the staff downright missing if not rude. You don't snicker at your guests when they ask a question you consider silly or walk around behaving more like a guest. The blondish girl walking there was busier getting coffee for herself and staff (all young students?) or with phone then anything else and otherwise zero service available. Do add more salt containers besides the lone one for the whole place! Room itself was fine but you might want to bring your own amenities as there was some missing or not great quality. Towels were okayish. Bed is low and mattress a bit thin so had to get used getting up instead of rolling as not to hit myself against the metal frame. At first I was annoyed for getting a room on the ground floor near the entrance facing the street (slightly lower so keep those curtains closed) but there is no elevator so it's a trade-off. It has garden in the name but missed that. All in all it was adequate since I was mostly outside but if you want more services and comfort not so. I would probably book elsewhere next time. I would say it is a 4star but minimalistic.

Great location near the old city. The hotel is beautifly decorated and the staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is very good. Our room at the 4th floor was very klaustrophobic, with a low silling, it was strange and not comfortable. The bed made noise and it seems it was quite old.

I like this hotel a lot, the room was nice and clean and the breakfast was good with many fresh items on offer. It is handy for many places to see and visit. Staff were very helpful in finding and exporing different sites. The one thing I would recommend would be the availability of more english TV stations at least one movie channel would be beneficial.

Nice Hotel at Vilnius, Lithuania, Old Town

During a previous stay at Moon Garden Art Hotel in Vilnius, Lithuania, my wife and I were very pleased. But when we stayed there again, January 26-28, 2018, we were not as pleased. They did not seem prepared for our arrival, and they initially told us we would have to change rooms for our second night, because of a mistake that was made by another front desk staff member. They finally corrected that problem, so everything seemed OK. But the next morning, the breakfast was not nearly as nice as it was during our previous stay. The coffee came from a machine and did not taste good, and the quality and taste of the food was not nearly as good as it was during our previous stay. So we were disappointed and may not stay there during our next trip to Vilnius.

Worth your consideration

This hotel is clean and provides everything you need. A bit stronger internet speed and better WiFi wouldn’t hurt, but other than that, you will not be disappointed. Convenient to anything in old town, but even closer to the train station...

Terrible, look for something else cheaper and nice

My entire stay was a nightmare. First of all it is not a four star hotel no way. Second of all the bed is noisy, uncomfy and the furniture is very cheap but worst of all is the service. Called the reception because I didn’t have any soap in my room and I needed more toilet paper and tissues, he said that he couldn’t find it and that he found only some random toilet tissues and that he didn’t want to be bothered. He barely spoke English and he ran off even after I said that that was not what I asked for. Soap not changed in the bathroom even when the little bottles were empty. Terrible service. Never experienced such a bad service in a four star hotel. The hotel itself is okay but to be a four star you actually have to be nice and don’t tell people to go away and do not contact the reception. Ahah is the point in working as receptionist if you cannot accomodate simple requests for guests like toilet paper or soap? The room wasn’t cleaned properly and the bathroom was left dirty for several days. They cleaned the mere minimum to make it look okay. Terrible I would not go there again

Quite manageable

The staff were quite helpful. On the first day I was busy in my room and the room service ladies couldn’t get in to clean, but they came back later to inquire again if I need cleaning. That was impressing .

Well sited hotel for exploring the Old Town area

We stayed in the Moon Garden either side of a trip to Belarus and found all hotel procedures to be very good. The staff were attentive but not not intrusive. The building has been redeveloped with care and attention to detail which made for a comfortable stress-free stay.

Looking for a hotel near the city centre and tourist locations all within walking distance you'd be hard pushed to find something better. The only draw back would be no lift in hotel but I was on the 4th floor (highest) a not an issue for me

This hotel reminded me of a 'safe house'. Elegant, personable, but... a big house. With one very pleasant young man at a desk. A key instead of a keycard. Stairs instead of a lift. Maybe this is what an "Art Hotel" is? But if I were to go back again with luggage and a stroller and a baby, I wouldn't stay here.

Nice Hotel next to old town

The Hotel is next to the entrance of the old town. Restaurants are around, but I personally will avoid the old town restaurants. the Hotel is nice decorated and rooms confortable. staff at reception was just about...don't ask them much, for example they didn't know how long takes to go to the airport by train...or give us details about the best way to reach the airport. Nevertheless we enjoy the Hotel and the location.

Quite a Jewel

Beautiful & comfortable hotel, located conveniently to the bus station and many small shops and restaurants. It's in a slightly sketchy neighborhood, so don't venture out at night too much. But, everything during the day was fine. Loved the bathroom design, perfect for lovers!

Nice hotel close to the entrance of Old Town

The hotel was OK, except for the very soft mattress. It also was only serving breakfast in its restaurant. However, the location is good for accessing the Old Town, particularly areas near the Town Hall. It also doesn't have an elevator so if you are on the fourth floor and have been walking all day, it means you still have to walk up many steps to your room.

Very clean hotel close to the old town and sights, however the staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and quite brusque in their attitude. The room was a good size and extremely clean, however the mattress was very uncomfortable.

Pleasant enough

We definitely got more than we paid for, but we did go for a top level room. The hotel is very well located although you could stay closer to the centre of town or the main sites which are in the northern part of the old city. This was not much of a problem as we were able to walk everywhere quite easily. Breakfast was terrible as there was not much to eat and no service. There is no lift which people who find it difficult climbing 2 flights of stairs particularly after a long day might not like. We found it odd that the room would be cleaned (towels folded and bed made) but the things that were left around the room were not moved. I used the (not very comfortable) robe on day 1, and it was still where I left it on day 4 when we left).

Nice hotel in a very handy location

The whole stay was very pleasant and easy from the pre-organised hotel taxi at the airport to the friendly and superbly efficient staff and the way access to the old town. There was lots of choice for breakfast and really the only improvement I thought could be made was the addition of a kettle and tea bags etc in the room. Otherwise I couldn't fault them. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

Cosy stylish hotel

We stayed for 1 night with my husband. We had a room for 2 on the 4th floor (actually it can be called the only minus - the 4th floor without elevator). The staff was very friendly and ready to advice places for eating. Good speed of wi-fi, tasty breakfast. The room was clean and cosy

We have just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay in Vilnius. The Moon Garden Hotel was excellent value for money. The gentlemen on reception were very helpful and arranged for us to be picked up and dropped off at the airport. The service was very efficient! The hotel was lovely. Our room was spotless, modern and cosy. The location was perfect for exploring the Old Town. Breakfast was simple and filled us before we set off to explore the city. Lovely to stay in a hotel with character and that isn't a typical chain hotel. Would stay here again without a doubt. Great hotel!

Lovely intimate hotel in great location

Excellent service from the front desk staff; checkin was fast and they were very helpful in assisting with airport transportation. The hotel looks brand new with cool, chic decor. The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel could use a little better sound proofing between the rooms, but overall that did not present an issue. We would stay there again if we return to Vilnius.
