We were in the city for a show at the Bell Centre and this location could not have been more convenient! Friendly, helpful staff, easy parking and walking distance to many great restaurant options.

Chateau Champlain - would highly recommend!

Hotel was reasonably quiet and seem to cater to a more subdued clientele... Staff were very nice and accommodating. We have stayed at several downtown hotels and this was by far the best ... also very convenient to walking to the downtown shopping and restaurant district. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Montreal

If you are looking for a mid hotel this one is for you. Its not bad but its not exceptional either just middle of the road.

Marriot just lost a customer

Hotel location is not so good if you are planning to walk around. Is in a commercial area with not much to see. There are bus and subway stations nearby but we didnt use local transportation. Parking, they cannot accommodate larger sized SUV (think Tahoe, Expedition) so you will have to park 2 blocks away. Terrible in the freezing cold. Breakfast was a disaster. I prepaid for breakfast and upon check in they told me it wasnt included. On check out, I mentioned it to the front desk, and they said it was inlcuded (missed a day of breakfast). More importantly, we were seated at breakfast buffet by the manager "Manon", and we went to look for food, but when we came back the hostess "Linda" gave away our table to another party, and instead of trying to fix it she made us walk to the front with our plates and glasses in hand, wasted another 15 minutes (after 20 minutes waiting to be seated). All in all I am never going back to Marriot

Perfect holiday stay

This was the perfect hotel for a beautiful getaway over the Christmas holiday. Hotel was pristine, with stunning seasonal decor. The location was super convenient, with easy access to the metro and walking distance to many stores and restaurants. Service at all levels was outstanding, including friendly, responsive room service. Shoutout to Sephora, the hostess at Lloyd restaurant and Shayeb, the doorman, who were both so helpful and kind. The view of the park from our 11th floor room was stunning. Btw, for those with kiddos, there’s even an indoor skating rink in the mall next door! Can’t think of a single complaint or concern from our experience here. All in all, everything we hoped for and more!

The supervisor has quite an attitude and really does not care about the guests and their experience. Quite shocking for someone running a hotel that runs on the guest’s experience. The staff did not care about your experience at all. They either forget requests or take long to fulfill them. The housekeeping just left my garbage beside my coats. They did not look happy when I asked them if they could clean the garbage they left by my coats. The amenities were broken like the lights and phone. They switched me to another similar room and it was cold, the heater barely worked and one of the neighbors (because they put me in a connecting room) tried to enter my room / open the door. The room and the service felt like I was staying in a 2-3 star motel honestly. I complained to the supervisor and she said there was nothing she could do while showing attitude to me. She even had a condescending smile and laugh. That was the first time experiencing something like this at a 4 star hotel. Absolutely ruined my experience and thank goodness my stay is done. I was honestly counting the days until I left that hotel. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

Everything about the hotel was perfect. From the helpful staff, perfect service, beautiful lobby, and sitting areas. The gym at this hotel is beautiful and has everything you could want. Would gladly stay here anytime in the future.

We absolutely froze ! Hardly slept. Had someone up early evening who had “ adjusted” the heat but had to run shower to heat up the room. Paid nearly $400. For this experience!

Hotel is great. Bell boys can get pushy with wanting to do all the work with luggages so they can keep asking for tips. Very clean and great location.

Once again a great experience staying at Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain. It is a very nice property at a perfect location. Rooms are clean, service is excellent,but most of all, we loved the lobby/lobby bar and restaurant.

My second stay here and I must say the staff and their service are exceptional! Perfect downtown Montreal location.

have lost count of how many times I have stayed at the Chateau Champlain, five ? six? If I am in Montreal, that is where I want to stay. ( except once, when you could not accommodate us.) Whoever trains the staff does an outstanding job ! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I am looking forward to next year's trip to Montreal and another enjoyable stay at your excellent hotel.

Amazing Hotel

Friendly but over worked

Unfortunately, we were there during a strike of the hotel staff so there was no room service or cleaning of the rooms. We were also scheduled to stay at the hotel again 5 days later, but received an email saying our reservation was cancelled and switched to another hotel. The staff that was working did a great job, but were definitely overwhelmed trying to do all the extra work.

Love the City of Montreal

A fabulous time in a vibrant city. Located within a safe walking distance to food, attractions, Mont Royal Park. Even though there was a hotel strike that began when we got there, the staff were professional, courteous, and made sure that we were well cared for.

All of the staff of this hotel was extremely nice. I was worried our hotel room was going to be loud, but it was absolutely quiet even though there were several events going on in the city. The beds were very comfortable and clean and the elevators were prompt.

The people who took care of us were fantastic, which was difficult with the housekeeping staff across the street on strike. The agents at the Front Desk were friendly and pleasant. The gentleman who was clearing tables during the free breakfast was super - very efficient, pleasant and went out of his way to take good care of the guests. Huge thank you to the on-site staff. Loved the fitness center - I travel globally, and this gym was by far the best I have ever witnessed. Thank you Marriott.

Hotel was good as was the location but the staff were on strike which wiped out most of the facilities and room maintenance with a resulting negative impact on our impression.

What can I say. While we were in Montreal, Hotel Staff conducted a week long strike thus preventing us from enjoying the 7 days we spent at the hotel. The skeleton staff which stayed on duty in the restaurant did their best but cleaning your own table to eat breakfast which was provided on a self service basis was a bit much after a week. Dinner consisted of a basic bar menu and after eating hamburgers for 5 nights and virtually not food for a coeliac, we were ready to head off to our next destination.

Good hotel. Unfortunately staff were striking during my stay so I didn’t get to experience all of the normal offerings. But in spite of that, would stay here again.

The front desk person, Dan was so kind and welcoming. The concierge, Ian was so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Whenever we walked through the lobby or outside the hotel, the staff always greeted us.

Love this property!!!!

Love the Metro access on site, and the parking garage connected to the hotel. The staff were very kind. The room had a cracked glass in the bathroom door, and a glass with lipstick marks. Those are minor details, and didn’t detract from our experience. Would recommend to our friends. Might want to bring your own sugar packets, as they don’t give a lot, though.

Such a beautiful Hotel. Loved the room and property location. Walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Just around the corner from the Via Train station.

This hotel was in a perfect location, with access to public transportation via bus or via train.

Hotel was beautiful, staff overall very helpful. On our final day we went to have breakfast that we paid for with our booking. The hostess disappeared for like 15 mins. When she returned she informed us that the buffet was now closed , 30 minutes earlier than other days. She took us to another area that had a subpar buffet and was not apologetic about it

We really enjoy this particular hotel because it’s central to lots of activities within Montreal and the staff are fabulous!!!! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Recommend this hotel very much.

The room was pleasant with moon shaped windows. The room was super clean. However, since the unionized / housekeeping staff went on strike, no one changed the sheets the next day, or made the bed. I had requested three times but management only gave fresh towels, replenished coffee and took out garbage. The bed was not made, sheets not changed. Also, due to the strike, we were not able to dine in for breakfast buffet at Lloyd restaurant, even though we made reservations. This was a big disappointment. Therefore, I am rating 4/5 , otherwise I would've rated 5/5 if there were no issues.

Great location close to many attractions. Clean, well-maintained public areas as well as suites. Very helpful, accommodating staff.

The staff at the hotel were wonderful. Big shout outs to Mamadou, Nathan, Natalie and Ian. The property is well maintained and inviting. It was a pleasure to be there.

The staff were very friendly and the environment was positive, clean and had good amenities. The lobby has a bar and restaurant too. Location is conveniently located walking distances (5min to 30min) to many dining options, Metro, and Old Montreal. We will definitely return to this hotel in the futute and recommended it to our friends and family.
