The staff was friendly and felt like a safe part of town.

Location was good for our group. The team/staff who greeted us and were part of our experience were awesome. Nina, Sarah and Jason are superb and professional. I had called the day prior to check in and spoken to Sarah to let her know we were celebrating a Birthday and she blocked a great room for us. She ever added a special touch to our room with a card, balloons & treat for the birthday girl. The terrace breakfast was nice yet the area could have used a few more tables and chairs. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely stay again.

The staff is INCREDIBLE. I was a little disappointed my room was still not ready at 3 even tho we got there at 1 and stored our baggage to go get something to eat. To accommodate us they gave us an upgrade .. phenomenal service! Valet is A BREEZE and always worth every cent. Second time staying there in 3 months and i will def be back.

READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING This hotel was in a good location and upon first arrival seemed nice. It quickly went downhill. On one of the coldest winter weekends we had no hot and no heat. ( the boiler was down the thermostat broken ) we also had no internet and no wifi and this could not be fixed either. Very disappointed in this property and will not stay here agin. I had read the reviews about it being noisy and it is but the other things we far worse then the noise. HEAT AND HOT WATER are basic essentials !

Hotel Park Ave is amazing!

Been in NYC three times already (summer and xmas 2023, and now Xmas 2024) and I stayed the three times at this wonderful hotel (floor 16, 11 and 17, respectively). It’s well located, its staff are wonderful, the breakfast included are delicious, and the rooms are very comfortables. This time the bar at 15floor (terrace) was not opened, so I went nearby for a drink. Hope next time the bar will be available as well as the Club.

The location is away from the noise and near walkable restaurants. Nice decor inside and updated bath and fixtures. Love the terrace and accessibility for relaxing. We didn’t have cable or heating the night as it was still being repaired. But we would return with more to explore.

Good value overall but weird lapses in service like no kettle or tea/coffee in the room, the phone was out of service, and the much touted casting from your device to the giant tv screen was also not available/busted. The breakfast buffet was also quite minimal. But given the location and price even if this hotel is going downhill it’s still great value for money. And the staff were all great!

I rented a studio with balcony for 2 nights, Ended up being over $1200 when all done was told $884. To valet you vehicle its $85 a day (not mentioned in the hotel description) and there is bo on street parking ANYWHERE near the hitel. they have a veiw on the site with the empire state bld veiw. Nope that was eith taken on the roof or somewhere eles. The hotel itself is dated and needs maintenance. Our room had a peeling ceiling and mold all around the shower window and door. The water was luke warm when showering and i had it maxed. Very noisy (didn't get much sleep) the beds are extremely hard. The balcony are tiny like one person tiny. The room had a fridge and hair dryer. Nothing eles. No ice machines, no microwave nothing. The continental breakfast was cheap with stale breads, muffens and pancakes, i honestly feel ripped off and the hotel misrepresented their establishment. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! wouldn't recommend this place to anyone stay away

Dissatisfied and Disappointing

Extremely small room. Small spot stains on linen. Asked for change around 11pm and workers changed over shifts without notifying next shift of request. So after about an hour still no change of linen. Had to put in second request. Uncomfortable bed as well.

The location was amazing and the property was very nice. The free breakfast was surprisingly nice and the view from the lounge was really great! The bed was also very comfortable. We'll be back!

When using the sink in the bathroom, the water came out brown. When we checked in, we were told breakfast was complimentary but was charged.

Pros: The staff were all amazing! The room was clean and the hotel was nice. Also location was good because you could walk from Penn Station. Room was decent sized for one night the city, I’ve stayed in larger and also smaller. Cons: The sliding mirror bathroom door was extremely heavy and hard to push open - you need some serious muscles to get out of the bathroom!

Fine hotel but very loud

The hotel itself was fine but it was incredibly noisy - requested a quiet room and was given a room on the 6th floor and we were kept up all night by traffic, sirens, street noise, I lived in the city for a long time but this was unusually noisy.

Lovely rooms. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Continental breakfast was adequate and offered gluten free oats and granola bars. Great location for shopping and shows.

Perfect for our NYC vacation

Great hotel, great value, and very friendly staff. The one thing that I would like to see improved is the availability of ice. You have to go to the front desk and ask for ice, and they send it to your room. This is very annoying. I like to just get my own ice when I need it, and not have to wait 20 minutes. I would also like a hotel bar/restaurant. I did enjoy the 15th floor terrace.

Good but some issues

It was a good stay and the staff are very friendly, helpful. Requests to front desk were dealt with particularly clearly. As it has recently come out of the Mondrian group it is clear that some issues exist and it is in need of some refurb. Towels bit threadbare, marks on carpets etc. I’m not convinced the hotel needs to charge a $40 p.n. resort fee. There is no gym, swimming pool or bar for example. There is a “free” breakfast in the nice rooftop room.

Close to everything we wanted to do and a couple of blocks from the subway. Lots of excellent restaurants within walking distance.

Beds so comfortable. Easy access to all attractions. Subway 5 minute walk. Would definately recommend.

Here’s a polished version for posting on social media: Disappointing Stay at Park Avenue Hotel I was really looking forward to my stay here, especially after reading glowing reviews about its charm (back when it was still the Mondrian). Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. From the start, the customer service was poor—no greeting, just a request for my ID and credit card. On top of that, I was charged six hours before I even arrived, which felt odd. The room itself had issues: the lights flickered, the bath towels were folded but dirty, and there were no toiletries provided. The “free breakfast” was extremely underwhelming—pancakes, waffles, Saran-wrapped apples, basic coffee, and water. No eggs, no meats—definitely not what I’d expect from a hotel at this price point. To top it off, I only found out on Instagram that the hotel had changed its name from Mondrian to Park Avenue Hotel less than a month before my stay. The property didn’t notify me directly, which felt unprofessional and misleading. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not at all what the reviews had promised. I hope they take guest feedback seriously and make improvements, but I personally won’t be staying here again.

Very nice

Nice, clean hotel, well priced in a very central location. No in room tea or coffee making facilities. But they did have free water and soda which was very welcome. Breakfast was included in a cosy lounge with outdoor rooftop terrace which was lovely. Towels were small and a little frayed. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

I. wasn't able to get into my room until 3:30 PM, though I had asked to. access it earlier. Room view looked right into building windows next door so I kept them closed. For some reason all hotels in Manhattan were twice the cost they were when I came the same date last year

Staff was wonderful

The hotel is remodeled and elegant. The service was unfortunately not coordinated well during our stay. Despite a well laid out room, the A/C hardly functioned because the property limits how low the temperature can go (the wall thermostat is ‘locked’). I do not expect this practice from a 4/5 star property and we have other choices. It is a savings that is not worth it bcse we will not return and not recommend the hotel. 3 engineering visits to the room disrupted our stay and did not resolve the issue.

Great continental breakfast and nice outdoor terrace

Just an average stay. Had trouble with valet as well as getting phoned from the front desk. No one was sent up to notify us in place of the phone not working to contact us. Place was safe and clean just experienced more technical difficulties than wanted on a vacation.

While I would love to give “excellent” across the board, there were very minor issues. The room was well kept, clean, warm and comfortable. While the blow dryer didn’t work, they replaced it immediately with a brand new one. The electrical outlet in the bathroom was unusable as it was not flushed to the wall. The shower door opened towards the shower hooks, making it difficult to reach the towels hanging on the hook that is installed behind the opened door. Though the continental breakfast was included on the terrace level, there weren’t any tables inside. Making it unmanageable to keep the plates on our laps to eat. The staff were very professional, just not friendly or personable. This may not be my first choice when I’m back in NYC but it will remain on my list of options. If anything could be updated it would definitely be my first choice. Great place to stay while in NYC for Thanksgiving. Away from the crowds.

Good spot for the price and can’t ask for more. Staff people are nice, good treat, patience and respectful(front desk, banquet and housekeeping) Small improvements like: found some mold on the bathroom shower(roof and wall) nothing crazy. Psdt: A new white t-shirt got confused with white linen and accidentally they put it on the dirty linen, I reported it to the front desk and housekeeping, they said they will take care of it and I left my information for future updates, room 509.

Great location, close to public transportation and walking distance to Union Square. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff onsite were friendly and helpful. An issue that affected my rating is I have repeatedly asked for a receipt/invoice and no one has responded. I called and emailed and no response.

The room was small and very tight with a king size bed and an oversized chair in the corner, that made it hard to access one side of the bed. The bathroom was very small as well but managable. Both the room and bathroom were up to date and very clean. The mirrored surfaces helped to make the small space a little brighter and all were nicely polished. The bedding was clean and very comfortable as well. Check in and check out was quick and easy so didn't have much interaction with the staff. But from what i experienced and saw with other guests, they were friendly and helpful.

Good area and close to subway. Room Was clean- there was no shampoo and when I orginally checked I was sent to the wrong room. There was already a guest in the room. He startled me and I startled him. Pretty awkward. All And all, Ok stay.

There are no tea making facilities in the room. The air conditioning kicked in very loudly every few hours which disturbed sleep. The towels were frayed and very squeaky on the skin when drying yourself off. The breakfast was disgusting. Sugary waffles, croissants & bagels. I ate elsewhere. The only good thing the bed was very comfortable. I’m sorry but I won’t be staying again. Not for the price! They charged a facility fee each day. For what?? The lift?

I travel for work and have spent many trips searching for that perfect hotel in NY. Excited to finally share that this hotel checks all the boxes. Ideal location, is quiet, has good amenities, and the rooms are just right. I would say the only thing missing is a good robe, but if that's the tradeoff for a spacious NY hotel with a good shower, I am ok with that. Looking forward to coming back every time.

The hotel was ok. It was mostly clean. They seem to be in a transition and our room seemed to be some what upgraded. The breakfast was all carbs no protein and no gym on site. I found the hotel to far from most things you would want to do.

I arrived at the now, Park Ave Hotel, to discover that the ownership and name had changed overnight without any prior notification. Despite pre-paying for my stay, I provided a card for incidentals upon check-in. The next morning, I found that over $900 had been charged instead of the expected $200. When I addressed this, I was told it would take a week to refund the difference—completely unacceptable. Later that evening, I was locked out of my room and asked for an additional $200 for "resort fees." After a lengthy discussion about the $900 issue, I was assured the resort fees wouldn't be charged. However, I later discovered they had been taken anyway. To make matters worse, I witnessed two other guests being locked out of their rooms over similar "resort fee" issues, which were never mentioned at check-in. The new owners—clearly from the UK—seemed indifferent, swanning around while their staff fumbled through these repeated mistakes. The front desk clerks appeared more interested in impressing their new bosses and angling for trips to London than resolving customer concerns. Adding insult to injury, the so-called "resort fees" don't provide anything of value. The amenities are nonexistent, and the "continental breakfast" consists of self-serve coffee, plain bagels, and sugary snacks—not exactly worth the extra charges. Very convenient. Hotel carpet and decor is dated for a 4.5 star hotel. The shower leaked all over the floor each time we took a shower. Good location, but probably not worth the nightly rate.

This is basically a run of the mill 3 star limited service hotel, whoever I giving it a 2 for deceptive business practices. I believed I had booked a Mondrian, which my receipt reflected, however on arrival the Uber arrival at the Park Avenue Hotel. The lobby image in the advertisement is a fake and there is no bar, gym, restaurant (some pastries and beverages are provided for breakfast). Censorship is alive and well, but the new ownership seems less than honest.

Basic room. The only amenity in the bathroom was a bar of soap. No tiny tube of toothpaste, shower cap, or anything else. Only way to turn the bedside lamp of or on was to plug it in, unplug it. No one answered call to front desk. Really surprised to find this kind of place in a desirable part of Manhattan. Worst breakfast buffet ever: every kind of carb. Best I could do was two cold slices of French toast and a strawberry yogurt.

Location was convenient & room was clean. The front desk staff was pretty disorganized both at check in & check out. We inquired on the valet policy twice & got two very different answers, which resulted in us having to change all our plans. Nothing special about this hotel, I'd recommend staying somewhere else for comparable offering with better staff.
