Excellent location with parking included. Room very clean, with AC, with spacious private bathroom. The breakfast room is across the building where the rooms are, but in the same complex of the Monastery. No more than 5 min walk to the Via Atenea where all the shops and restaurants are. Excellent customer service. Breakfast is continental with Almondsweets that are by the nuns.

OK - not great - not terrible

Nearly impossible to find (if you are using TomTom or Google Maps) and very basic rooms. A bit spartan, but it is a convent. The sisters were very pleasant, but not overly welcoming. The breakfast provided was more than adequate. The chapel is amazing - make sure to visit. Best not to drive there - park in town and either hike in or find a taxi willing to take you in.

staying in the monastery Santo Spirito

staying in the Monastery was really a wonderful experience. The single room was clean but the single bed was very small. The breakfast was wonderful if you like sweet breakfast. the tiny cakes were made from an ancient recipe by the nuns, usually for festivals. I can recommend staying here for the atmosphere alone.

Quiet getaway

The place is located in a quiet little square and is run by the nuns of the convent. The room is comfortable and spacious and the service was really personal. One of the nuns gave me a personal tour of the church. The breakfast was generous and amazing; tons of homemade cookies and pastries.

Monastery accommodation, very convenient location

I stayed at this BB couple of weeks ago for 10 days. It was very conveniently located in the historical centre, and also quite close (5-10 minutes walk) to the bus and train terminals. The nuns prepare delicious sweets based on local recipes, which they serve at breakfast. The big thing about the breakfast is that the guests have to share a large table, instead of sitting at small, separated tables, like usually is the case with other hotels. This leads to wonderful conversations among the travellers, and I personally have enjoyed many such great moments during my stay. Also very close to this location are major sites from the historic centre, mainly churches. By taking the bus from the bus terminal, one is within few minutes to many of the attractions outside Agrigento: Valley of the Temples (very close, it can even be reached by walking, but it requires a bit of it), then San Leone with its wonderful beaches, Casa di Luigi Pirandello, where the great writer was born, etc. The frequency is very reasonable, within 30 minutes - 1 hour of each other, and some lines even run on Sundays! This is quite rare here in Sicily. The sea is a light turquoise, a beautiful colour almost as far as the eyes can see, it just gets a little bit darker towards the horizon. This is another thing unique to what I've seen in Sicily so far. I would enjoy anytime staying at this BB again, it was very safe and btw: it has its own monastery complex, very old, to visit. The complex is magnificent!

Staying in a Convent

Very late arrivals are not on the menu here. It is a B&B in part of a convent and is accessed by small covered windows and speaker phones. We stayed for 3 nights during which our room was not serviced. Breakfast was limited with no choice. However against the Convent is situated in the centre of town and walking or bus access to everywhere in the area is simple. We went to the Valley of the Temples on the local bus. This is a must-see of Sicily. The restaurants within walking distance are all excellent and friendly.

The place was very difficult to find and GPS took us to a totally impossible route, we had to send my husband walk to the hotel and walk backward from the hotel to the car which stuck in a small alley and figured out the road to get there. We booked two nights there, we only had one set of towel and no clean changing sheet, we made the bed our-self to have a neat bed. the bathroom smell bad, the floor rug is draggy. The only thing I learn is to live a simple life you can come here to appreciate what we have.

Hidden Gem

The monastery is perfectly located, if a bit difficult to find. You must obtain a permit to transit the limited access pedestrian road and the street is actually up an unmarked alleyway. That said, it is an ideal place to stay while visiting the Agrigento area. Everything you’ll want to see is a short stroll from the main piazza and center of town. Even if you stay at another hotel, you must visit the monastery to sample the nuns' Sicilian dolce or sweets; they are like no others in all of Italy. There are several different types - we purchased two of everything! Clean, quiet, and ideally located, we will stay there again during our next visit.

Very hard to find, need small car!

stay was great, the nuns were very helpful and gave us many bedding options for the 5 of us. breakfast was simple but good with homemade pastries and great coffee. we had a GPS in the car, but it was too hard to find, so we called and a nun came to our rescue. little did we know the tiny winding street we were going to have to get a somewhat large car throughI do not recommend trying to drive to this place if you have anything but a compact car.

Charming experience

We had a comfort room which delivers as expected from the pictures on the net i.e. clean but basic. There was no view over the sea but into the courtyard of the monastery. The charm of the place is in the interactions, the communal breakfast where we had lovely conversations with the Sister, French, Spanish and American tourists. The 5 star ratings are not about 5 star accommodation but about the charming experience. We enjoyed our 3 night stay here. Hot water, plenty of liquid soap, good air con, courtesy bottle of water on arrival. Close to town but not disturbed by the noise from the trendy late night pub. Agrigento is an underestimated place to stay. You must experience the chatter of the birds and the old guys in the square at 5 pm. P.S. there is a lift - handy for suitcases.
