The staff is gracious and helpful and the beach view simply lovely.

This property is located in a beautiful beachfront neighborhood of the Island. I traveled solo and felt extremely safe. Security guards were surrounded the area 24/7. I was welcomed by a gorgeous and well spoken front desk staff named Fatima. Fortunately, she gave me the best room facing the ocean and it has a balcony. The air conditioning worked perfectly and I had breakfast delivered to my room daily. I highly recommended this property if you ever decided to visit the island of Mauritius. A shoutout to Vrishna for helping me with everything I needed.

Pleasent stay and friendly staff

We had a nice time in the hotel. Staff was great, rooms were clean. Close to beach, and bus stop. Pleanty of trips you can book at reception and to rent a car that they deliver to hotel. Overall nice stay, one remark for future maybe to add restourant and a bar in hotel area.

Great value for money

This hotel is right on Mon Choisy beach which is an amazing 1.5km length of white sand. It also has a small pool with sunbeds which is great for relaxing. The rooms are reasonably basic but comfortable and include everything you need, including a fridge and coffee machine. Other hotels in the area can be incredibly expensive and this place gives access to the exact same beach. There is a small hotel next door with a restaurant and bar you can use and they also run a free shuttle bus to a different hotel restaurant which we used one night and the restaurant was great. You can drive easily everywhere from here, including a huge shopping mall if you want to self cater.

Great for self catering

I stay every 6 months and can see they do a lot to keep it in great condition. It is extremely clean and I love that it has a kitchenette and that there is a washing mashine at reception that can be used free of charge. Staff are so friendly and I just love staying at Beach R.

The hotel was absolutely superb, right next to Mon Choisy beach but quiet. Sanjay was excellent and saw to our every need. Would definitely stay again!

We had the perfect location on the ground floor, block A. Views over the garden, pool and onto the beach. It was lovely to see all the colourful birds , and the beach was seconds away. Room was very well equipped , spacious and airy.

Have stayed at hotel over the last few years. It is a basic place that has everything I need. But place was full this time, so had to park on street as parking area was full. There was no hot water in the evening. In the past a simple fresh breakfast was offered- but this was no longer an option. And hotel prices in Mauritius have gone crazy. The room cost around 3x what I spent in the past. So I will be looking around for a similar place for my next trip.

Perfect holidays at Mon Choisy Beach R.

It was a wonderful stay. The hotel is very close to the beach, the apartment was very comfortable & clean. Excellent customer service. We could arrange excursions from there. Beautiful & Peaceful Stay

The view at the location is simply mind blowing: so beautiful. The place is so calm with this blend of nature. Great staffs. Clean premises. The only improvement is access of the pool is up to 8 PM currently, which is quite early. Up to 10 PM at least would be most appropriate.

The property is located in walking distance to Mont Choisy Beach. The pool area is spacious with an amazing view, especially during sunsets. The staff was very friendly and helpful, my overall experience was very positive. I highly recommend this property.

Absolutely Amazing stay. Very helpful staff. Good cleaning. Smooth communication. Quite. We spent there two weeks abd now moved to another hotel and what a difference! Important to mention they territory is being sprayed so not to have many insects. Something very important!

Great bargain studio.

Great little studio apartment. Very modern decor and furniture. Small garden terrace too and a lovely pool area with plenty of loungers which overlooks the sea. A very short walk to one of the nicest beaches on the island too. Friendly effecient staff. For the price a real bargain for Mauritius.

What a little gem

We chose Mon Choisy BR based on the many other positive reviews and were not disappointed. The staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful and the room was serviced daily to the highest standard. The pool has the best view ever and Mon Choisy beach can be accessed from both ends of the property within seconds. This hotel is as good as any of the high end rollers and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back

Prior to arriving well informed with information by Mon Choisy Beach R. Reception staff were so pleasant and welcoming. Had a beach view room and just perfect. The unit was so clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Would definately would stay here again.

Sublime experience

Mon Choisy has a beautiful beach view, scenery and spacious swimming areas.The Hotel was nice, as well as the beaches around. weather was great. It was a sublime experience and I would no doubt recommend.

Excellent option for being close to beaches and Grand Baie. Rooms are well equipped for self-catering and very comfortable. The ladies at reception are extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. Security at the gate is very good.

The apartment is very comfortable, a home away from home and very comfortable bed. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Supermarket a short bus ride away, some restaurants 5 to 10 mins walk. They also run a shuttle bus to their sister hotels restaurant which is lovely. Beach is a minutes walk

The place is nice and clean, very peaceful, nice pool with good view, sunsets were breathtaking, beach is just beside with 1min walking distance, the room was on the ground floor, with a garden and unbelievable sounds of singing birds. The kitchen was clean and well-equipped. Stuff very friendly. Looking forward to going back.

Blessed beyond

We had an absolute wonderful week. Friendly staff and management. Loved the friendly gardener that greeted us 7am in the morning with a huge smile, sharing his blessed life with us. We had a sea viewing room and it felt like heaven. Stunning view!

I always enjoy my stay A nice well looked after resort nice and quiet in the evenings. and a nice pool.

We spent a week in a studio. The setting of the pool is fab we could always get a sun bed. Room cleaned daily. We used the bar and restaurant in the hotel mystic next door twice which was good. There are a few bars and restaurants a 5 minute walk to the right as you leave the front. Supermarket is a taxi ride that costs 200 rupees.

The room size is a bit small and no sea view. The tour we joint, organized by property was disappointing.

This resort is perfect for a relaxed and private holiday! The staff are so welcoming, very knowledgeable to help with any questions. Both room and kitchen amenities are spotless and just what you will need if you want a quiet night in to eat on your veranda, or they offer a takeaway menu or free shuttle to there sister hotel/restraunt, I recommend the bbq night! Pool is a nice size, plenty of loungers and gorgeous sunsets in the evening. While it is facing the beach you will just have to walk 5 mins if you want to swim in an ocean area a little safer. Mon Choisy Spa close by is lovely and bus stop right outside if you want to travel to Grand Baie or Port Louis. The area is a little dark and quiet in evenings with a more limited restaurant choice than other areas of Mauritius. Resort next door has beautiful food too! Resto#36. I loved it all!

Great value

The checkin in was very easy and both the security and the lady at the check in counter was very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are pristine clean and basic. You do not need more. Kitchen had a coffee machine and they give complimentary pods on check in which was a pleasant surprise for me. Wifi was good The general area and garden upkeep is extremely neat. The pool is very clean and there is a lovely view of the ocean from the pool and loungers. There is not a restaurant at the property but the restaurant that is part of the group delivers for free. There is also a restaurant next door at the Mystik. I will definitely stay here again.

Good property for the price, had kitchenette which was the main reason I booked it. Great location the the north side of the island. A little thin walls and could be a little noisy at times but overall good place and would recommend. We drove all over the island so didn’t really use the pool and chairs. You can walk to Mont Choisy beach which was good, but tres aux biches was much butter only 5 mins drive away.

We were two couples travelling to Mauritius to meet up with our Mauritian neighbours. The accommodation at Mon Choisy was perfect for us, quiet, clean and close to the superb public beach, restaurants and shops, so that we could be independent. The facilities were excellent and away from the crowds that are associated with the larger resorts. Although we had a hire car, it was not entirely necessary, as the very cheap bus service to Grand Bay and Port Louis, stops just outside the entrance. If you want to tour around the island it would be better to have a hire car. All the staff at Mon Choisy were very friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely stay there again, should we return to Mauritius!

Friendly people, clean, located nicely. We had the room where most pictures are taken from ('seaview') so I don't know about those in the backyard. Price / service: excellent, which means that you have to be self-sufficient for your meals (or go the the neibouring hotel for breakfast, lunch, dinner) however. Grocery, Money Exchange 500m to go. Beach: rocky in front of the property, some 100m walk to the sandy beach - one of the nicest places on the island.

Excellent location and very good facilities with a fantastic pool area... the only thing missing is a small bar where you could buy a beer or order some nibbles!

Terrible staff with an unclean room

Nobody was there to assist during Check-inn. Had to collect the key from the watchman. Bedsheets were torn. Ants were there in the room , the kitchenette was not cleaned. The staff were very rude and impolite.

A quite, well located resort with direct access onto the beautiful Mont Choisy beach. Staff are great, rooms very comfortable, breakfast is room service which we loved, beautiful fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh bread and assorted jams and French pastries. We loved it and had a great 2 week stay.

Location is superb for the local beach which has little or no facilities - a few vans and the locals add colour and character Not much locally in the evening - a few good restaurants including the sister restaurant with free shuttle

Fabulous 2 week stay in Mauritius

Spacious hotel room with comfortable bed and good shower. Lovely balcony overlooking beautiful gardens full of tropical birds. We also had a separate sun terrace with partial sea view. Hotel staff were always friendly & helpful. Only used the hotel pool area to view stunning sunsets. Preferred Mon Choisy beach for swimming and relaxing and very quiet especially during week days.

Lovely appartment

Very pleasant stay.

Firstly the staff are exceptional - as helpful and friendly as is possible. The buildings are very cleverly designed to fit into a compact rectangular plot which has one short side next to the road and the other short side is next to the swimming pool, which is next to the sea. The room we were in was beautifully furnished and self-catering was easy, but you need to get your supplies from a supermarket in Grand Baie. There is a local "supermarket" nearby, with hugely inflated prices. A fruit seller on the road nearby charges 3-4 times what the supermarkets charge! In one direction is the very long and narrow Mon Choisy beach, 1-2 minutes strolling; and in the other direction, 5-10 minutes strolling, is very long and wider Trou aux Biches beach. The small gardens are immaculate, as is the swimming pool; there seem to be enough sun-loungers to go round. The local buses pass by right outside the gate. They can provide a simple breakfast, which we found adequate. All in all, a thoroughly pleasant stay. I'd recommend an upper floor, and I imagine the view from the sea-facing rooms might well be worth paying extra for.

Home away from Home

Most amazing views, spotless rooms, comfortable crispy clean beds. The pool has spectacular views over the sea. The staff are amazing and a Manager that truly cares for the well being of his guests. Will and have already recommended Mon Choisy Beach R. Will most certainly be back. Thank you guys for making this an amazing holiday.

The place is nice, and right on the water. the staff was very kind and friendly. The only downside for me, and that’s because I didn’t read the information carefully, it’s an apartment living so it has a kitchen but it doesn’t have a restaurant or bar, you can order food from a sister restaurant and have it delivered to the room, which is nice as well. Over all I was very pleased.

Good location, next to the beach. Clean, neat and spacious rooms. Daily Housekeeping. Staff were very good, polite and friendly. They were very helpful in arranging tours, car rentals, and everything we asked for. Overall, it was an excellent and pleasant stay at the apartments.

Nice but needs more cheese.

I went there on a recommendation, and found the staff to be pleasant, and the overall atmosphere to be quite nice. It was very isolated though. No places to eat other than the evening bus to Skippers, which was very overpriced and barely mediocre quality. I got the breakfast option and found that to be extremely disappointing. Bread and...bread? What gives with that? For $12 you can't even find a morsel of cheese or one measly bit of protein to put with the bread? Next time I'll book into Grand Baie, something less spartan, and somewhere nearer to stores and amenities, and not have to figure out the complex bus system or negotiate with opportunistic cab drivers.

Very simple but nice hotel. Great pool and walking to public beach. Would stay again as the price was great. I did not like the smell of the towels (like pickles).

Staff was very collaborative & helpful, good atmosphere. The pool is very nice and the breakfast delivered to the bedroom was a good change. No water bottles in the room & you only get complimentary coffee on the first day, need more space in the parking too but the stay there was very enjoyable.

Good boutique hotel with an excellent ocean view !

Good hoyel very close(few steps) to beautiful Mon Choisy Beach. Breakfast menu is just bread, jam a croissant, and fresh pineapple sljces along with tea /coffee. No restaurant at hotel, they will provide complimentary shuttle to their sister hotel about 5 minute away.

CORAL AZUR BEACH RESORT WAS BETTER THEN MONT CHOISY BEACH RESORT AS THERE IS RESTAURENT AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Lovely hotel, close to sandy beach and nice staff.

We stayed in a sea view room for 2weeks.Room were serviced daily with clean towels everyday. The staff were always on hand to answer any queries. Very friendly. There are facilities to do your laundry. The kitchen is well equipped to do light cooking. There is a coffee machine, kettle, toaster and microwave and fridge. We enjoyed our stay and gladly recommend this hotel.

Not the best of resort hotels

No restaurant hence can't even have breakfast or lunch/dinner unless you take a shuttle bus. The TV has limited channels and all in French except BBC. No complimentary water or coffee(other than Day 1) No chairs provided at the beach area unlike surrounding resorts There is no "garden view". It's just overlooking some trees and surrounding buildings.

Our stay was awesome. We had a room with sea view. It was beautiful. Especially in the morning at breakfast. We have only problems with ants in kitchen. So this is a thing for staff or management to do something about it. And another think for management from me is to put more warmer bedding in room. I was a little cold at night. This is a proposal in the name of all guests who will come in the future. Also the WIFI in room was poor, at pool it work normally. But all in all, we have great stay because we came there for holiday. And we were very happy with our choise.

Simple good quality self catering accommodation

This accommodation is located very close to the fabulous Mon Choosy Beach. About two miles of lovely white said.sand flanked by shady walkways though trees which home to flocks of wild birds.. There is no hotels fronting it and it is devoid of coconut umbrellas. The beach is favoured by Mauritanian families who flock to it at the weekend set up picnic tables, chairs sometimes carpets and small tents and enjoy a picnic with the extended family. Some bring their musical instruments so there is song and dance. Afterwards there is very little litter. The accommodation provides a two ring hob microwave kettle, adequate for simple meals. The breakfast which is served on your balcony consists of three fruits (banana , pineapple and another ), bread jam, croissants, tea, instant coffee.and yoghurt The swimming pool is lovely and is a good spot to. watch the sun set, creating a backdrop of golds.pinks and blue for men fishing standing on black volcanic rocks and the nearby Hindu Shrine. Manager is very friendly, as are all the staff, and is willing to provide info about local buses, and tours. A visit to the national park in the South of the island is a must do. We had a few showers but on the whole the weather was excellent.

Nice apartment with everything you need

We stayed in a garden facing apartment for which was spacious and modern. The apartment had all of the amenities we needed and was cleaned daily. The staff at the apartment complex were very pleasant and helpful and there is a security guard on the gate at all times. The pool area was nice and the pool itself was clean and big enough for the amount of the guests in the complex. There is no bar/restaurant on-site but they have a free shuttle service to their sister hotel which has one (though we never tried it) and there were a couple down the road. Though I would recommend hiring a car whilst on the island anyway so you would able to drive to some of the highly rated restaurants nearby. Mon Choisy beach is a couple of minutes walk from the apartments, and in my opinion, one of the best public beaches on the island. The beach is great for swimming and there are plenty of great food shacks. We also booked a few of our day trips with the reception staff who were very helpful, making it hassle-free for us. Overall, I would recommend staying at Mon Choisy Beach Resort, especially if you are happy to explore the nearby towns/villages for restaurants, beaches, shops etc.

Great Value for Money

A beautiful apartment hotel with a stunning ocean view. It is situated at a great location with Mon Choisy and Trou Aux Biches on either side of the property within walkable distance. Makes it ideal for beach lovers. Grand Baie is not too far from the property either. Bus Stop right outside the hotel made local travel very easy. Hotel Staff were extremely friendly. Special appreciation for Reception Staff (Anais & Brinda) who patiently answered all queries. Highly recommend this hotel and definitely look forward to going back.

Nice hotel - indifferent service staff

We were happy to stay there and the hotel itself is quite nice. The problem is the staff runs the place like they were all at a hotel for the first time in their life. They had no feeling of what kind of need you had - we brought a little baby and the restaurants and journeys they suggested were not suited for us. It seemed like they were more into selling their own services than actually helping us with the easy solution.

Decent apartments by the sea

It is not a proper hotel - it is more an aparthotel with clean, simply furnished rooms. There is no restaurant on site but there is a free shuttle to their restaurant located in another aparthotel 4 km away with very nice and inexpensive food overlooking a nice beach. I would stay there again.

This had been my fourth visit, and I shall be using the Mon Choisy next year

The property is over rated and not value for money. The rooms are small and the service is very poor. The staff are very rigid and have no for an answer. The breakfast is pathetic and over and above this there is no restaurant. The kitchen is very basic and small. We travel all over the world and stay in the finest properties to include the likes of Ritz Carlton. The only good thing about the property is its location, a good pool and view for beach facing apartments. But again there are very few beach facing ones. The service is very average. The room does not have basics like paper napkins and the breakfast too is very ordinary and the there could be a better presentation of service. It is not worth Euro 240.00 a night

Very close to the BUS and Mont Choisy Beach

Property and apartment in great conditions (seems to be brand new), the pool area is very good and has a nice view to the ocean, you can just walk into Mont Choisy Beach, which by the way was the best we found in the whole island, lots of food shacks during the day, you can pick up a bus to grand baie every 15m and it's right outside the property. The only bad thing is that there is nothing to do at night in the property although you can cook in your apartment or you can ask the hotel to shuttle you between the hotel and their restaurant for free.

It was an okay hotel - the rooms are a bit squashed for 2 people. Glasses were stained with dirt. Basic amenities in the room with only 1 TV channel (BBC World).

Relaxing apartment right by the beach

Relaxed, quiet and superb service at Mon Choisy Beach Resort. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was cleaned everyday and the bathroom and garden terrace were excellent. It was fully booked at the time but we were never disturbed by any noise. Pool area is very relaxing with a beautiful view of the sea and it is a 2 minute walk to Mon Choisy Beach or even a 2 minute walk to Trou aux Biches on the other side. We loved it so much, we are coming back next year!,

Nice quiet apartments

I stayed in Mon Choisy beach resort for 11 nights and found it to be serene and relaxed. I stayed in one apartment overlooking a back garden and it was great to wake up in the morning to hot sun and small exotic birds chirping outside. The housekeeping was on a daily basis and was very prompt. Apart from the last night in which I had to do battle with a couple of cockroaches (whom decided to make the inside of the apartment their temporary base until the rain stopped) I was very happy with my choice of accommodation and wi-fi was excellent. There is also round the clock security at the premises.

Perfect for my trip

I travel to Mauritius a lot and this is perfect for my purpose - great for when I have downtime from working and not expensive as a business expense Public beach is popular with locals but even on a bank holiday quiet enough for chilling out

Very good hotel for the price.

Very nice, comfortable room. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They have a free shuttle to their other hotel where there are very good meals.It's right on the beach and the pool area is very inviting.Free car parking is available off road. There are not many facilities in area for eating or shopping, so a car is handy. There is a small kitchenette for cooking-kettle, toaster,hot plate, microwave, fridge. We were very happy with our choice.

Nice Hotel, Good Amenities and a stunning view.

We stayed at Mon Choisy Beach resort for 6 nights and to be honest we wished we could have had longer. The staff were helpful and courteous. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The charges for items were in line with the major retailers on the island and the free wifi was fast (10Mb/s up and down!) and reliable. There is a restaurant literally next door (Bistro 36) and the food was great. Perfect steak, chicken and vegetarian meals. They even had Wagu steak fillet at one point! All in all I would recommend the beach resort and will definitely be returning in the future.

Nice hotel in good location

Good hotel facilities and excellent location for very long beach side walks. Blue Water Diving Centre a short walk away. Excellent Staff. Rocky very reliable taxi driver for Tour and hotel transfer. Bus stops nearby for Grand Bay and Port Louis.

Nice accommodation.

Good staff, happy to help with day trips etc. However, lots of construction going on near by so during day gets quite noisy if at the side of the accommodation. Beware - you'll get charged for every breakage, which I guess is ok but having paid for a holiday there seems petty being made to pay for a mug that was dropped and a glass that was cracked (possibly not by us!) Quite a busy area.

Average stay

Overall this was a pleasant stay, except for the room cleanliness which could greatly be improved i.e. mopping of the floor, less dust in the room, shortage or mirror and tissue paper. Kitchenette could also greatly benefit from provision of cleaning tools and supplies. Management was also rather inflexible in giving us a refund for cancellation of late checkout, we ended up paying more than required. Other than that, overall ok stay.

Fabulous place enhanced by the fantastic staff

We have just got back from a fantastic holiday in Mauritious and the experience was entirely enhanced by the lovely accommodation and the superb and excellent staff. Pravesh could not do enough for you and his little touches means that he exceeds expectations. We were pleased that we chose one of the suites with the sea view. Sitting on the balcony looking over the pool towards the ocean was idyllic. Pravesh and his team are always looking to improve and their association with a local restaurant allows take away food can be ordered and transport is provided to take you to the restaurant on special evenings with musical entertainment. The hotel next door at Mystik also had a lovely restaurant. The Mon Choisy beach is one of the best on the island and is a mere short walk away. We hired a car and enjoyed travelling around the island (UK driving conditions but, keep an eye out for all the motorcycles!). We loved walking with the lions at the Safari park and also enjoyed swimming with the wild dolphins. Mon Choisy Beach resort is highly recommended. Thank you Pravesh, Ushna and staff for a fabulous stay.

This property is great value for money, the staff are friendly, they make you feel welcome the facilities is great for a quiet stay very private and relaxing. They have introduce a menu to order food and value for money with their sister apartment Voile Blue.

Loved this place!

We stayed in Mon Choicy Beach Resort for 7 days and it has been a wonderdul experience. The hotel is in a quiet location and only a few minutes walk front the Mon Choicy beach and 20 minutes from the gorgeous Troux Beach. Our room was spacious and very clean, along with the most welcoming and friendly staff members. There are no supermarkets/restaurants close by, however you can order in or take a free shuttle to go to the dinner. Mauritius has a good choice of restaurants so it was great to try different cuisine in nearby locations. The hotel is definitely not a party place, however if you are looking for a peaceful and well organised hotel, we would highly recommend this little gem!

Quiet hotel close to Mon Choisy beach

Go for a sea view room, the others didn't have much of a view. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful from the manager to the groundsman. Clean and well appointed self-catering facilities. Really need a car as not much around locally. The best place to eat locally is Kiosque Magique abut half way along the beach, unfortunately it's only open during the day not in the evening.

Great location, very clean & friendly service!

We booked Mon Choisy for a four night stay and it was perfect for us! When we arrived we were welcomed by a super friendly Manager who gave us welcome drinks and showed us to our unit. He explained where everything was and answered any questions that we had. Everything was very clean, cleaned on a daily basis, and the pool was super. Perfect for a self - catering relaxed holiday. Had a good meal at Mystic next door.

Mont Choisy Holiday.

Stayed at Mont Choisy Beach Resort with my husband for a relaxing getaway. The resort it self was amazing, we had a beach view self contained apartment, and wow what a view, who couldn't be happy waking up every morning to that. Room was clean and very comfortable, couldn't watch television as all shows were in French so maybe they could broadcast some English speaking shows. The free WiFi was great. The swimming beaches were fantastic and very clean. The area it self was very quite, so to get to Grand Bay and Port Louis, joined the locals and either took the bus or a taxi. The food at all restaurants and food vans was top class. All in all a very relaxing holiday enjoyed by the two of us, and will certainly be going back. An island paradise, and the locals so nice and helpful.

Nice & friendly place to stay

This is my fourth visit to this resort, nice friendly staff, and an ideal place to stay to visit the island.

Good service for a decent price

A very pleasant stay . Friendly staff , comfortable room and beautiful swimming pool. Far away from the airport . ! Surroundings are poor,almost dead ! You need a taxi to get a shop or a supermarket. The hotel has no restaurant . Breakfast is ok .They provide it in the room . The hotel provide free transportation to their next hotel (having a restaurant) for dinner . You can do it once or two times , but not every day . I discovered too late that next door to the hotel is a restaurant . They don't mention it . Easy to understand why :) . Staff and manager are very kind and helpful. I recommend the hotel and probably I'll use it again if traveling to Mauritius .

Mon Choisy February 2016

All the staff are extremely friendly, polite and cannot do enough to help. It was our Ruby anniversary whilst on holiday and they surprised us with flowers and wine - nice gesture! It is an 'Apart-hotel' so no restaurant but there are several restaurants nearby. We had the continental breakfast delivered to our room and they varied the pastries and fruit each day. It is worth paying the extra for the sea view so you can eat breakfast overlooking the azure Indian Ocean! The beach directly in front of the hotel is rocky but you have Mon Choisy beach 5 mins walk one way or Trou aux Biches beach the same the other way, both with all the water sports. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
