I had an excellent stay. The room was clean and comfortable. I have two minor complaints: I couldn’t figure out how to turn on one of the lights, and the thermostat was set just a tiny bit too low. I would stay here again.
We loved the front desk guy, Tristen. He was so helpful and personable. We loved the restaurant there. We liked that it was convenient to get to the tram. The AC worked amazing, however, you can never take your key out of the wall/ light socket because it will trip the fuse, and you will have to call down every time to get your AC turned back on. So not very energy efficient. We thought the pictures of the room on the website were misleading. The room is literally a small concrete box with a pretty bed in the middle. The “queen” bed is two beds put together. The toilet is not in it’s own enclosed room, it’s in a makeshift shower stall with an opening at the top and bottom. And finally, just so you know, there is no TV. We didn’t mind that as much, as we are on vacation and doing sightseeing things, however, it’s nice to come to the room at the end of the day and just veg in front of tv and practice our French. We would recommend it, because they were accommodating and the AC rocked, however, be aware of the toilet and TV situation.
Poor place to stay in Lyon.
Not so good stay. The room for three has a couch bed with slates that feel apart anytime you moved. The air condition sis nor work very well and there is no safe parking close by. Would not recommend this place. Not close to anything.
Pretty cool hotel but didn't quite meet the hype. The rooftop bar was closed most of the time and there isn't a lot going on in the area. Friendly staff and a hassle free stay
Great hotel and amazing staff
We had a fabulous night at the MOB. The room was great, the restaurant excellent, and the service outstanding. The team at the MOB could not have been kinder and more accommodating. Thank you again for a great stay!
Employees were very kind and helpful. The room was clean, view was good, but there was no TV and room was very small and not much space for clothes, except to hang them on walls
Wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, the staff was professional and the food was good!
There is a great atmosphere and the food is of a really good quality
Be aware, that you should find your save parking lot in advance . Hotel does not possess it‘s own parking. Very quiet inside also no noise from outside.
breakfast typical european very good
No separate bathroom
The seal on the shower door was broken and water leaked into toilet and vanity area. Orange mould where tiles met shower base. Only one flush button worked on toilet. No TV . We learned at checkout that the €150 required as security covered an IPad which we knew nothing about. Restaurant staff were great and checkin staff helpful.
Great boutique-esque hotel. Spacious & comfortable
I really liked this hotel. Spacious and modern with flair of Bohemia style. Very close to tram station and a local mall is only a 15 minute walk. Staff were super nice and accommodating. Will def stay here again. Gare Perrache is only a five minute tram ride away.
I really liked the location. It’s a somewhat industrial area that’s been developed. It was very convenient to the tram and walking and biking paths, but it was nice to get a little way from the city center at the end of the day.
Really nice modern hotel. Watch out: there is no TV in rooms... but overall a very nice place near a huge commercial center
Such a lovely, quirky hotel. Everything was perfect.
Exellent stay
Excellent stay. I did not know this hotel and had a really good intuition booking it! The staff is really welcoming, the bar-restaurant feels almost like a hostel (I am traveling for work and don’t worry the rooms are very quiet), a lot of good vibes. Overall very well furnished with a sense of details. There was even a small balcony in the room.
Three cheers for Paul and all the staff. Great people. Always pleasant and professional. Loved the atmosphere and the staff. Breakfast was good and the weekend stay price was unbeatable. The only thing that was difficult was the parking situation. Although we found a spot, the alternatives to where we parked we expensive and not terribly convenient.
The staff were extremely nice. They were willing to show us around the hotel and directed us to the best spots to visit during our short stay in Lyon.
Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel, in the room you will get everything you need, very comfortable bed, nice interior good breakfast, friendly stuff.
Cute property in a quiet neighborhood. Everything was great and well appointed, but keep in mind that the closest metro station is a bit far by foot.
Nice room with view of river. Close to bus and tram. Food in restaurant not so good, would not eat here again but breakfast was excellent.
No deposit policy listed?
Please list the hotels credit card/deposit policies! I paid ahead online with a debit card, then when I got there they said I couldn't check in unless I had a credit card. This was listed nowhere on your site or the hotel's policies, or they make it too hard to find. After already having Airbnb cancelled and coming 30 mins across the city, they told me only way is a 20 min walk to the atm dor a cash deposit. I understand but this was listed nowhere and completely screwed up my schedule for work.
A consistently wonderful
This is a consistently lovely hotel. The staff are great -- really friendly, professional and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and very, very quiet. There is a large walk-in rain shower. In the big rooms, there is a full-size fridge and a Nespresso machine (both very welcome). The restaurant does great Mezze and, if you like breakfast, a very comprehensive buffet. They even have a small wine shop selling at retail (not restaurant) prices and an eclectic assortment of apple crisps and other foods for sale at reception. You can use the Fitness Park at the Confluence (about 1km walk) or the Wellness Sport Club, which is a bit closer (you will have noticed that the French language has disappeared from the nomenclature of French gyms). But you have to pay at each and fill out forms -- I do wish the hotel would do a deal with one or the other to give guests easy access, maybe in return for an optional fee to the hotel. I also wish they would put recycling bins in the rooms. Otherwise, it's near perfect.
Principally, the concept of the hotel and the staff attitude and professionalism. I love the concept of the hotel, eco friendly
I left my socket adaptor in the room, called the hotel twice to find this adaptor but got no response!
Fun and lively property in La Confluence. This place has everything you need for a quick stay and is eco-minded, to boot. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The only potential drawback is that the bathrooms in the regular rooms are open to the main sleeping area, so if you're traveling with someone else, you'll want to make sure you're super comfortable with each other. The water closet itself is also a little small, which may be challenging for some guests. The staff were all lovely and getting by in English was not a problem at all. Thanks, MOB!
The service is excellent and the decoration is outstanding. Breakfast is very simple but of high quality with mostly organic products and vegan-friendly (e.g. almond milk, soy milk, ...)
OK but a bit of style over substance
A funky hotel. Rooms basic but reasonably comfortable and I suspect they probably regret the mustard yellow carpet in the rooms as they show all the marks. Communal landing areas needed vacuuming. Toilet and shower doors hard to open. Drinks at the bar shockingly expensive €19 for a beer and a gin & tonic!! Scandalous.
Hipster place in the Confluence. Access to central Lyon not great, and parking a little complicated. But worth hanging out at the restaurant or terrace. Rooms small with open bathroom but hey who’s counting? Makes up in coolness factor
I simple loved everything about this hotel!
I simple loved everything about this hotel! Stylish rooms, clean and comfortable! Very warm and well trained reception staff. Great restaurant and breakfast, although a little pricy. Du Quai Rambaud where the hotel is located is amazing! Many great restaurants, mall and beautiful Quai walking distance from the hotel. Free parking near the hotel was a plus! Will definitely be back! Loved the Hotel and Loved Lyon!!!
Great, hip, clean and cool hotel
This was a super hip place to stay. Small room, but incredibly well laid out. Staff was very helpful too.
Located in the emerging district of La Confluence and well served by public transport. Friendly and welcoming staff. Others have referred to the relatively small size of the rooms and the openness of the bathroom areas but rooms generally very comfortable and clean. Bar and restaurant were good and very popular especially at the weekend.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Events for guests were fun. Amenities were high end and modern.
I loved the way everything was environmentally thought through. Top marks for this. For our purposes, ie the Women’s World Cup Football, we picked a hotel that was way too far away from the stadium. Staff were great, breakfast healthy and rooms clean. Didn’t use any facilities. Only negative was that the rooms were a bit “boxy” and there was no wardrobe. For the price though, excellent overall.
Room was small, but clean and comfortable. Hotel was close to public transit. Staff were super helpful.
André is the best. He can and will help you anything you need in the area.
This is a really funky and fun hotel. Great location close to river and tram stop. Not central - so you have to plan your day around the the city / go for dinner.
Lyon
Bed was comfy in this boutique style hotel. About 15 mins from the town centre and our bedroom view was a local travellers camp.
Great funky hotel that is really good with kids. Restaurant is excellent, although with a fairly limited menu. Would definitely recommend.
Best wifi in an Hotel
Nice hotel in Confluence, one of the best wifi in an hotel. Distruptive hotel style with a nice bed, you are their like home and this is very good after a long day of work.
Consistently excellent
As always, the people who work here are just great. It's comfortable, quiet and convenient. The tiny wastepaper bins in the rooms are almost as much of a mystery as the absence of recycling bins. Otherwise, it's difficult to fault this hotel
all great
Reasonable but not woow!!
Its always very tricky to give a review and depend a lot on your expectations! The hotel itself is very quirky! Located in a newest area in Lyon. It is easy to take local transports from the hotel to the main center and fast! The room is small, no bedside tables and there is no privacy going to the bathroom! If you are super comfortable with your partner you can spend a few nights there with no problem. No room service is offered! Breakfast it is ok but not the best in town (considering we are in a gastronomic region). If you want to have a tea or dinner in your room you need to go downstairs and pick it yourself! What was a bit disappointing was the room cleaning. We put a sign in morning to clean the bedroom, came in afternoon (around 4pm) and there was 1 employee cleaning 5 bedrooms at same time and in the end didn’t get our room done! When we checked out we were asked for a total number to pay without detailing what were we paying for. When we asked the recepcionist got very irritated and showed us on the computer! Extremly rude.
Great hotel
Great hotel in a nice part of town. Would highly recommend.
Clean and Cool
A very clean and modern hotel with a “cool” twist. Room was spacious and had all amenities apart from iron which you could use in the laundry on 3rd floor. Also no TV but you could rent an IPad from reception. Breakfast was very fresh and enjoyable.
Perfect for a night's sleep with great front desk
As the name of the hotel suggests, the hotel was chick and unique. Check in was perfect with friendly front desk. Room was on point facing the railway track with a nice balcony. There was no noise thanks to the sound proof windows. Bed was very comfortable. Only problem was the house keeping was not done during our stay and the front desk lady apologized a lot for it and got us fresh towels and offered the toat bag. Breakfast could be better, it is not good.
A nice surprise
I was a bit dubious about this hotel: it looked as if it might be self-consciously trendy and places like that often have poor service. In fact, I was delighted. The people were lovely. The rooms were quiet and very comfortable (I booked one of the bigger ones). The bathroom was big with a full-size walk-in shower. Breakfast was excellent. It was great value. I found the strange teepee thing beside my bed a bit irritating and wished there had been a table instead but it wasn't a big deal. The hotel is full of Millenials trying hard to look cool but I found it good people watching. If I were there for longer, I would have wanted a fitness room or access to a gym but there's one that you can pay to use for the day in the Confluence shopping centre, which is a 10-minute walk. There are lots of places along the river to run and walk too The (very friendly) receptionist sounded apologetic about there being no TV in the rooms but I thought it was fine. We all have phones and iPads anyway so I rarely watch hotel TVs these days I plan to go back!
Quirky, modern excellent hotel.
This stay was an experience with unusually decorated rooms and things to see all around. Staff were relaxed and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious with a lovely view of the river. Breakfast was delicious and we could easily have enjoyed an evening meal there if we hadn’t already booked somewhere else the resteraient was buzzing that evening. The location requires a short bus trip to the central square but this is easily accessible. The only very minor issue we had was the air conditioning in our room did not appear to be very effective (even with everything closed) and we were a little hot overnight. An amazing experience and I would 100% recommend.
The hotel is easily accessible from the major highway. Beautiful view of the river. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Staff is wonderful.
Very modern and hip. Very quiet. Spacious rooms. Restaurant was organic and delicious!
Good location, fun vibe, so so amenities
This hotel is a close walk to a shopping mall that was quite convenient, and there are tram stops nearby (stock up on metro tickets though, because there is no machine at the stop near the hotel). I want to start off by saying that, for the price, I would probably choose this hotel again. I do have several gripes. #1) The hipster minimalism is overdone in weird ways. And I am a millennial who sold everything I own to travel. I've been living out of a backpack for 3 weeks. So I don't have complicated expectations. But like... A trash can larger than a vase would be great. Why put a giant projector screen in the corner of my room, but only tiny 3 oz coffee cups? #2) This hotel seems to do a lot to cater to foreigners. Most of the signs are in English. The staff mostly speaks English. But they SO do not understand how Americans and British people feel about morning beverages. Coffee and tea are meaningful to us. Like VERY meaningful. I've stayed in 10 other hotels in Europe this summer, and even the castles and tiny little single rooms provide a tea kettle, and enough stuff to make a cup of tea and a couple of cups of coffee. Not here. From what I read in reviews, the regular standard room doesn't have anything like that. So we got the master mob, which has a huge fridge, since it said that the master mob had a coffee machine. Except it doesn't have a kettle. It has a finicky espresso machine that sometimes works. 2 paper cups that hold a single shot of espresso.
Original experience
Urban-culture hotel, modern with tasty food options. Room was big enough for a family of 5. Staff was great. Only minus is parking, need to find options nearby.
The only hotel I've been to with actual personalit
Location and common areas: The hotel is right by the Musée de Confluence, and there's a nice path by the river to take you to the heart of the city (be it the old town or the newer parts) - although it'll take about 40 minutes to walk. There aren't AS many restaurants nearby - those that are tend to be on the chic and more expensive side, but the hotel restaurant is great - especially the pizzas. The restaurant was gorgeous - a massive bookcase lined one wall, there was comfy seating, and a foosball table as well. The hotel itself has mini art galleries and a shop with the neatest things. Be prepared that the hotel is openly liberal/leftist - which we loved. Room The room is excellently designed to make the most efficient use of the space - rather than a closet, there are hooks and hangers on both sides of the room - and we were able to hang more things up than usual. Rather than side tables, there's a shelf above the bed at a perfect height to be able to grab your phone or a bottle of water without accidentally knocking it over or reaching to far. They highly prioritized plugs and usb sockets, so you can charge all your devices easily. No TV but books instead. The only thing that stops me from giving this a perfect review is the bathroom facilities. There was no door for the bathroom - just a toilet stall and a shower with a door. It's uncomfortable to see/hear someone else going to the bathroom. Also, no towels very small. Gave only 1 bath towel for 2 people.
Amazing MOB Hotel
Very great trip, lovely hotel
Maid service
We had a 4 day stay at the MOB Hotel. Not one day did our room get cleaned. Each day we had to call the front desk to get the bed made and fresh towels.
Boutique hotel for budget price
Food and staff were great. The room was very comfortable and had lots of charecter
A boutique hotel on a budget
After a long day of driving south we arrived at the Mob Hotel in Lyon. With no expectations we discovered a really different hotel experience with creative design solutions driving the layout and look of our hotel. Whilst our travelling companions experienced a night in a Formula one smelling the cigarette smoke of a thousand lorry drivers before them, our kids were bouncing around our spacious room discovering all sorts of arty details. Downstairs we sat in an ultra trendy bar/restaurant and listened to a soul/funk set by the resident DJ and enjoyed lovely, if overpriced dips, cheeses and bread. The Mob Hotel was a lovely case of serendipity, discovering a new experience in an area of the city that is being rapidly redeveloped with some innovative architecture.
Great!
MOB Lyon was great. Every detail about the hotel was so well thought through. The rooms are gorgeous, as is the restaurant. The staff were all wonderful
Concept original faut aimer
Great stay, Great Price
Great stay as always. This is a perfect place in Lyon for a family stay.
Sejaour MOB LYON
parking a revoir
Bonjour.
No parking space available
Ok
Nice location but hotel is really missing the touches that makes it worth the money. Will stay somewhere else next time.
staff was friendly and the hotel was clean only the area I didnt like. A lot of drunk and wasted people
MOB Hotel Lyon Confluence | Hotel in Lyon | Travala.com
Beautiful view of the Saone river. And the staff were uniformly helpful, informative and responsive. BUT no TV, no closet, no clear indication of where the entrance to the hotel is from the closest tram stop. Regulating the water temperature in the shower was a challenge because it kept changing. Finally, the location is not the most convenient.
