In my over 50 years of travel, lucky me, this has to be one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Wonderful food. Wonderful staff. Pure luxury. I cannot praise this place enough. Thank you Mitsis.

It was short but good

Lovely, renovated hotel. Good food although a lot of difficulties with booking restaurants as the hotel was very busy. Good selection of snacks/pizza/grill between breakfast and dinner. Good facilities and lovely beach. Water in the pool very cold in late October; it would be nice if the pool was heated.

Had the most amazing time at Mitsis Renela. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, I experienced food poisoning on my second time which wasted our evening. The hotel simply asked why I didn’t call for the doctor but I wouldn’t normally think to call a doctor for food poisoning. Although this was very unfortunate, every other aspect of the hotel is great.

Not 5 star hotel service

Service was average, staff is obviously not really happy. Receptionist had really strange attitude. There is no gym, just outside some kind of TRX hanging from the ceiling and few kettle bells in the room. Room was nice but salty water in the shower. Breakfast: there was not proper Greek teas, even though you are in Greek restaurant. Scrambled eggs very salty, rice hard and salty again. This is not 5 star hotel service.

We had a fantastic time here. Food and facilities were great. Staff were so nice to us and treated us very well. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and I will def be coming back again

The superior double sea facing shared pool room had amazing views . The pool was quiet so my 5 year old loved having his own pool. The private beach was walking distance, took 5 minute and you on the beach.

This hotel is fantastic, the best we have been in Greece. Food is great, lot to choose from! Beach is perfect! Staff are great. Facilities are amazing, clean everywhere. We will be coming back for sure. Thank you Mitsis, we enjoyed our holiday so much.

My stay at Mitsis Rinela was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the incredibly helpful and friendly staff, who went above and beyond to ensure my vacation was perfect. The rooms were immaculate, with attention to detail in both cleanliness and organization. Dining at Mitsis Rinela was very nice, although I hope in time they expand the facilities to allow more guests at each mail. The variety of restaurants offered a diverse array of dishes. The setting of Mitsis Rinela is simply breathtaking. The views were magnificent, particularly the sunrises and sunsets which provided a stunning backdrop for relaxation. The pools were pristine and inviting, perfect for a refreshing dip or lounging in the sun. Overall, Mitsis Rinela provided a superb vacation experience that was worth every penny. The combination of luxurious accommodations, top-notch service, and beautiful surroundings made for an unforgettable holiday. Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape and unwind in style.

Great for families

Def a good idea to get shared pool swim up rooms. Main hotel pool has limited shade for sun beds. Not all beds have umbrellas. All inclusive is tricky they make it hard for you to access food and drink . Too many queues to make use of all inclusive food and beverage outlets. Service is quite average and quality of food is really lacking. Pros are beachside access and shared swim up pool rooms

The staff were friendly, the food and drinks were good, having a shared pool was definitely the way to go! Everything was great except a frequent sewage smell that would surround our half of the resort that became unbearable at times. But the views and all other accommodations made us look past this minor setback.

Excellent hotel

The hotel was very clean and well appointed. Freshly stocked mini bar everyday & the staff were very friendly and attentive, always smiling. They gave the impression that they were as happy to be there as us. Very good choice of freshly cooked food in the buffet and the a la carte restaurants were excellent. Clean pool areas and its own private beach with plenty of sunbeds and parasols & that was cleaned each day and that had a lifeguard too.

Beautiful views and what an awesome sunset!!! The beach area was well taken care off. The sea was magnificent with unbelievable shades of blue colors. We were impressed with the amazing landscape of the facility. The abundance of growing fresh herbs such as mint, blooming sage, rosemary, mixed with summer flowers such as colorful lantana bushes and other perennials and plants. The staff were always helpful and kind. Service in the restaurants was great! Enjoyed the variety of olive oils fussed with herbs and the availability of different dried herbs in the restaurant. My favorite is was definitely the oregano!!! The patio entertainment in the evenings was nice. Our suggestion for improvement is for the health of people who don’t smoke the patio is separated to smoking and nonsmoking areas.

Beautiful hotel… amazing pizza station! Not the best food from the main restaurant and pan Asian. Also had issues booking reservations to restaurants which was very inconvenient.

Hmm.. if we had known adequate??

The hotel is lovely - perfect for a small family as we found alot of other holiday makers were families with small children or babies. However, we paid for a swim up room private pool and didnt get this - just the private pool part which was overlooked by all other hotel users at the main pool (a bit unideal but can be overlooked as we had no sunbed wars). The Biggest let down was that you pay all inclusive and for the 4 nights we stayed we only managed to get into 1 restaurant as we complained (buffet was an option every night but the food was bland). We ended up renting a car for 2 nights so we could leave the area and go to some authentic greek restaurants. We also asked for a late request check out as our flight wasnt until evening (usual checkout 12pm) this was also denied even though you have to pay €50 so they’d be making money?. So with buffet food and requests constantly denied it was disappointing. We had no shower gel in our shower just moisturiser and shampoo so we had to buy some. They do top up your mini bar every day which is great, however our bed sheets were just remade never changed so this wasnt ideal either. Perfect for a short stay but probably wouldnt come back. Felt like an up and coming just built hotel which lacked quality and basic needs/requests. Each bar has a different menu so cant mix your drinks from each and some on there they also cant do either. A STRONG sewer smell quite often too so factoring that into our stay we left the pool often

Mitsis Rinela was like paradise on earth. The staff was beyond accommodating and always left us with a smile. The nightly shows were great and the views were even better. We truly did not want to leave. If you're looking for the perfect vacation spot, look no further!

Eine wunderschöne, moderne Hotelanlage mit super freundlichem Personal (Ritsa in der Mainbar war einfach spitze!). Überall wird man sehr herzlich willkommen geheißen und bestens umsorgt. Es gibt neben einem großen, sauberen Pool oder gepflegten Strandabschnitt etliche Möglichkeiten den Aufenthalt kulinarisch zu genießen. Auch abends wird man schön unterhalten und kann in die griechische Kultur mit Musik und Tanz eintauchen. Der Urlaub hat uns so sehr gefallen, dass wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen möchten und dann gerne ein paar Tage länger. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!!

Excellent resort!

Good location

The property decor, design, cleanliness is exquisite. The pools and facilities are excellent. Rooms are spacious, breathable and completed with luxury, quality touch. It feels like you’re in a little village community. There are lots of families, young, older whom enjoy the hotel, which brings a very calm presence to the property. The hotel offers a wide range of options. Our personal favourites are then BBQ hut and pizza shack on the private beach. The food is of excellent quality. All enjoyed by an idyllic private beach. The people working in the hotel are very accommodating and friendly, especially the waiters and waitresses in the main restaurant. They tirelessly work with a smile to help and serve patrons. One thing which we didn’t like was how long the main restaurant remained open. It’s almost open 24/7 closing an hour for lunch change over, then dinner change over. The hotel doesn’t need to put on such a carousel of food. People should rest and know that like with life, we are not here to gorge and over indulge every second of the day or night. The food in the main restaurant is also sometimes lacking in quality. However for the large amount of people it caters for, they still produce a very good range of food options. There can also be a bit of confusion if you are new regarding how the a la carte reservations works. We recommend trying to reserve a few weeks in advance of your holiday as the premium times get booked very quick. All in all - fantastic hotel!

Amazing hotel with the friendliest staff especially Nikolas & George. The food was amazing with great options and the snacks and food provided throughout the day as well as drinks was fantastic. Great for kids.rooms so tidy and fridge restocked daily with complimentary drinks and waterr I can't fault Rinela and would definitely come back again

Beautiful resort, staff was wonderful and rooms were very clean.

The hotel was excellent and the staff were faultless - very helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. Unfortunately the noise from the evening entertainment (up to 11pm) carried to our room. The staff very kindly arranged a room change which significantly helped but there was still some noise. This is the only reason we gave 4* rather than 5*.

We stayed at Mitsis Rinela at the end of the tourist season when it was fairly quite. Still all the facilities were available to us. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying at this place.

The hotel exceeded my expectations I absolutely love it!

Mitsis Rinela is wonderful all round - friendly staff, quality service, beautiful grounds, great entertainment options, varied delicious food and drinks. We had a lovely time and have zero complaints. They kindly made my birthday special with a cake and gifts. Will happily return !

The hotel has been recently renovated to a high standard and the vast majority of staff have been fantastic. The bbq, pizza and crepes made fresh to order were all delicious and there was lots of drinks choices at all of the bars. The hotel is clean, our room was lovely with a fantastic view and we had a great time. There were plenty of sun loungers by the pool and on the beach and we never struggled to find somewhere to sit. The bus stop into Heraklion is just outside and the busses are regular and clean. There are however, a few areas for improvement; - The lobby bar and main restaurant have not been refurbished and are quite dated, although very clean as the rest of the hotel. - The food at the buffet was good but quite repetitive, the a la carte restaurants were generally good but we found the Taverna very oily and quite poor. - Most staff were extremely helpful and polite but a couple were rude, the woman at the pizza place was rude on a couple of occasions.

Family holiday

Great service and staff professionalism, amazing food all day round, superb beach and pool facilities. Fantastic hotel stau for families with kids. In addition, the hotel lighting is so lovely, giving it a nice glow at night.

We really enjoyed our 6 nights stay. We’ll definitely come back next year!

Very nicely decorated hotel and surrounding gardens and beach area immaculately maintained. Would highly recommend getting the a la carte restaurants booked before you arrive, as they are a cut above the regular buffet restaurant. My only criticisms is the openness of the balcony areas. It doesn’t feel very private and if you are next to neighbours who smoke, it’s not very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the view. Also the rooms feel a tad on the small side, especially if you have a baby cot set up in the room, feels like perhaps a few pieces of furniture table, sofa (we had two of each in the room) etc could either be removed entirely or replaced with some more storage.

Loved this place went for a solo birthday and it was everything and more. friendly staff good weather amazing food options and ambience. if you plan on going look no further just go! I'm planning to go again next year because it is a must. you will find peace of mind here.

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel this is not the hotel for you. Very unprofessional, understaffed, and inefficient. They just don’t care … plain and simple. Rooms are not very clean … we found glass on the floor and yes you can tell how we found it !! By stepping on it. Restaurants are booked prior to guests checking in which is the weirdest thing I’ve heard or seen. We always go to all inclusive restaurants and they know how to manage their restaurants … not this one. We stayed 7 days and we weren’t able to book a dinner until we complained several times and got really frustrated. We weren’t able to eat at all of them still. This property is not well managed. We paid a lot of money and it’s not worth it at all. If you go with the expectation of a motel type service you will be happy but other than that this is not a 5 star hotel

Was a lovely property to stay at; would definitely recommend the rooms with a sharing pool as they're quieter. The main pool was really busy with families and kids.

I loved the aesthetics, the offered activities and adventure packages. The people that are part of the service industry working onsite are simply devine. Everyone made me feel like a queen. From the 1st day to the last i felt like royalty on site.

Top Notch Resort!

words can not explain how deceivingly beautiful this place was. It was almost as if every day I peeled back another layer, like an onion. My room was incredible, the food was delicious, and the hospitality from the staff was amazing. It would be definitely hard to compare other resorts to Mitsis because the bar has been set.

Everything was wonderful due to outstanding staff. Every person we encountered was so nice and eager to please.

Never been a 5 star! Never will be a 5*

How this hotel is a 5 star I will never understand! The service is not great, the suites are all open and no privacy, everyone can see in your garden and pool in majority of the rooms including ours. There was no availability at the à la carte restaurants then by some miracle they got us in! But the Italian I had a hair in my food, and it was shocking food anyway. The main restaurant didn’t have much choice at all same stuff everyday and another hair! My partner was poorly after going to the Italian as well. Heard the same thing about the main restaurant from a few people. 5 star hotel you shouldn’t get these issues, majority of the staff didn’t know where anything was when you asked. We had drinks bought to the room everyday and every time we ordered something they had to go back and get something. For example we ordered an English tea with milk and sugar, we got the pot of hot water but no tea lol! We said that’s great what about the tea bag lol. They didn’t re-fill the tea or sugar in our room and never bought sugar when ordering room service so they had to go back. One day we ordered some lattes same again lol, but this time the girl dropped them on the floor the glasses smashed everywhere in the living room and covered baby! What made it more of a joke was we sent our cloths to be cleaned as we was all covered in coffee and they tried to charge us for it on checkout lol. The room isn’t safe for children or young children no locks on outside doors. Stay clear if use to 5*

Wonderful stay at a great hotel. The staff were absolutely incredible - so helpful, friendly and considerate. Buffet food, pizza and bbq places very good with strong variety and quality. Pools were brilliant. Overall a fabulous stay!

Five star in name only, with too many people crammed in to actually be able to use the “facilities”: the gym and spa were a joke, the speciality restaurants were all booked up and the myriad beautiful pools too cold to use. The reception area is chaotic with the staff unable to hear because of the loud live music blaring in the adjacent bar.

Beautifully newly renovated resort; mixing Cretan and modern features. Vegetation and individual gardens make the resort look really beautiful. Well trained, friendly and amiable staff. The BBQ, pizza , fruits, waffles/crepes/pastries corner are all very good. Pool, beach and main bars offer a great varieties of beverage and the cocktails are professionally prepared! A well deserved 5* resort.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff lovely. The spa area could be improved, but the massage itself was great. The food in the main dining room was the main letdown, food was mostly cold, barely warm and sometimes tasteless.

Great family option. Book one of the private Villa’s.

Really nice all inclusive resort. Very good fine dining restaurants. Didn’t get the enjoy the full experience of the resorts beautiful beach and pools due to bad late season weather. George, the waiter at the sushi and fine wines lounge was truly amazing and the best staff member to have waited on us in our 2 week trip to Greece. Hope to see him again when we return.

Lovely in all ways

Incredible! Lovely place, great food , friendly staff

The hotel was lovely. Good food options, however, we booked in May, travelled in August and at no point were we told that we would need to book the restaurants beforehand so when we arrived they were all fully booked. We would not go to a hotel to eat in the buffet all week. The rooms are nice but the superior double that they say can fit 2 adults and 2 children in are very small, there is definitely not enough room for a family of 4. Typical sunbed situation “you cannot reserve sunbeds. Property will be removed” everyone put towels down before 8am and if you did it any later you struggled to get any beds. Nice resort but very disappointed we were unable to visit any of the restaurants during our stay.

The staff are really lovey. premium brand drinks were all included which is nice. Restaurants were very good.

Service and food was horrible. Not worth the hefty price tag.

Can’t fault anything about this property! The best experience we have ever had in a resort, staff, friendliness, cleanliness.. everything was just perfect! So much to do and absolutely love the little touches like the varying restaurants available and the various bars/creparies etc! Would love to visit again some time!

It’s a beautiful resort. Food is ok not much variety of choice for buffet restaurants. But the staffs are very nice and good service. Still recommend it.

The hotel was beautiful with a stunning beach and excellent staff. The new section is amazing but there is an authentically Greek feel about the older side where we stayed. It didn't take away anything from our experience at Mitsis Rinela. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous resort

A fabulous resort. Very professional staff, the newly refurbished parts of the resort are extremely stylish (balance to be refurbished by summer 2022, although still of high quality, just older style). Numerous eateries to suit all tastes. Super main pool and lovely sandy Laguna style beach. Overall very impressed.

Very clean and well maintained, particularly the renovated part of the hotel in which we stayed. Terraces and balconies are not very private, and this includes the most expensive suites. Had difficulty booking A La Carte restaurants, eventually resolved. Fine Wine bar mainly serves local Cretan wines. Champagne (as in, the proper French stuff) is not available. Similarly limited wine options with meals. Clean and inviting beach, but some difficulty getting sunbeds though. Would possibly consider staying again, at the right price……

Lovely stay from 30th August to 6th September. Cannot recommend the resort enough! We have always been pleased with mitsis hotels having stayed in blue domes and Alila as well. We loved the superior double rooms they were new, clean and very beautiful. The pools were lovely and chlorinated the cleaners were friendly. Staff on the beach were so friendly. Pizza, watermelons and drinks plus BBQ all on the beach with lovely staff working very hard! We loved our stay and look forward to returning. Remember to book online in advance for restaurants and even transfer taxi and covid testing which was great, all organised via hotel. The fitness classes and evening entertainment were great especially the duo Xenia at night time were so good! Recommend this resort to everyone! You will not be disappointed it’s heaven on earth!

the hotel consists of a new part and an old part - most of the accomodation is in the old part but this is not shown on your website or the hotels - we had a room in the old part - this reminds me of a hostel style accomodation - more a 3 star than a 5 star . entertainment was very poor . food quality was terrible although varied . Restaurant booking system was horrendous . they did not have our room available when we checked in - given temporary room for 1 night and had to move again the next day - we were there only for 6 nights - this was very inconvenient . we witnessed very poor hygiene standards back of house and actually saw a chef drop a burger pattie on the floor and pick it up and serve it in the burger stall by the beach - and the use of hands without gloves to handle different food items before the stall was open and only to use gloves when the customers could see . understaffed and chaotic

Great all inclusive.

Second time and great to see they have continued the upgrades of the resort first seen in 2020. Top quality property. Only issue is now everyone needs to go to the outdated buffet for breakfast

Not quite a 5 stars hotel

It's a very noisy hotel, with no phonic isolation. Most of the stuff was amazing, except one from the beach bar. At the beach bar, there were 2 guys, one of them called Nikos, who was a real gentleman, but the other one without a badge, grey haired, doesn't care at all about the turists, all day long he talked with his friends and when he served you, he fulled your cup with ice and just a drop of bevearage. Cleaning, although made every day, it was very superficial. The food was very good and diversed. The beach and the pool are great.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. Staff was very accommodating and polite. There were plenty of lounges on the beach and the sand itself was scooped regularly from any rubbish and sharp sticks. New building is very pleasantly done in terms of furnishings and look. Lighting is also pretty and plentiful inside as well as outside, around the pool. I would've given this hotel a 5 star review if it didn't have issues with soundproofing. At night we could hear almost every breath our neighbours took, as if they were in the same room.

A resort in transition

Good thing we booked the Superior rooms. They were fantastic, as was the daily access to the beach cafe for breakfast as a perk. It honestly would be a totally different experience if you book a normal room and go to the buffet everyday - both of which are terribly dated, but will be modernised as part of the renonvations of the entire resort. It really does feel like 4 star in the superior rooms and 2 star in the rest. So book wisely. The staff overall were fantastic. Loved the new wine bar that is hidden out the way and showed off a great selection of local Cretan wines.

Much needed break to totally unwind. Excellent choice of hotel. The service and friendliness of the staff is outstanding. Hand sanitiser everywhere and they cleaned the tables and chairs properly between guests. Beach was busy but not overcrowded. We would stay again.

This is a big hotel (1,500 guests at capacity), but it never felt crowded and the staff do an amazing job looking after everyone. The quality of the food is very good, especially in the Greek Taverna, which benefits from an a la carte menu with table service. Great pizza or gyros daily at the beach. Really nothing I didn't like.
