Although we had a great stay at Mitsis selection Laguna when booking this I booked a bungalow sea view , i felt I was cheated on the room rate because we ended up with a garden view / children play area , and looked nothing like what was advertised on the website . We queried this at reception which we were offered another room but to another garden view so it wasn’t worth the upheaval of our belongings but the receptionist took a contact number if an upgrade became available he would call us. Never got a call . At the end of our holiday we learnt that another couple got a free upgrade to a bungalow sea view with Jazzi because they weren’t happy with their view either so I was really disappointed that the cost of garden view room rate is less than what we paid for . apart from this we can’t fault the hotel , all staff were lovely and attentive food and drinks were great too

We loved our stay at the Mitsis Laguna. The facilities are great and the food and drink options are fantastic. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. There was only one negative point which is that the hotel let people book the a la carte restaurants before they arrive (if you book direct), meaning that when we arrived, all of the restaurants were fully booked for dinner for our entire stay! I don't think this should be allowed as the hotel is making a poor first impression for guests as you feel like you can't enjoy the restaurants on site.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities

Mitsis Laguna is a stunning resort in a beautiful location, but what really makes this place is the staff. I want to start by saying a personal thank you to Domna at the theatre bar, who was the most kind compassionate and caring member of staff at any hotel I’ve ever come across. My wife injured herself and Domna gave her very prompt and excellent care, and was so kind and reassuring. For the rest of the holiday she took so much time checking in on us and making sure we were okay she also made such a fuss of our little girl, making her holiday extra special and giving her lots of love and attention which she loved. Another shout out also goes to Marina and Olga also at the theatre bar, two lovely kind humans who gave amazing service and helped make our holiday unforgettable. They were all so friendly and we looked forward to seeing them each day. All of the staff at the hotel were amazing with our baby and made her feel so happy and welcome. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, well maintained and easily accessible with plenty of ramps for pushchairs and wheelchair users. There is a selection of pools and sun lounger availability was never a problem. They’re lovely sun loungers and very comfortable too. We were very lucky to be given an upgrade to a family bungalow with an ocean view in block 9. I want to start off by saying that this facility was super clean and housecleaning was very nice. Concierge was not helpful, the food was not good and I could not even get a reservation two of the 3 nights and I was one person. The location is remote and even though there is a beach front it is not swimable.

Great for families - too noisy for my liking sadly

Check in was amazing with Angela - quick & efficient - cool drink & hand towel. The room we were taken to was 324 on the Laguna site. It’s a corner room so the layout isn’t as polished as the picture I had seen of my sea view room booked. The balcony was tiny and walled in - no view unless your standing / the view then was of the sea and crepe bar. The room felt over crowded with the 2 chaise lounges and other furniture. After some complaining we were luckily moved to a better situated room with the view I expected 654. This room was sea view & pool view. The hotel itself is huge and layered over many steps & zones - consider the main building if you’re less mobile. The main pool has lots of activity & music throughout the day. The sunloungers were pretty tightly packed in. We chose a closer pool to the room for convenience. I do think you need to select your beds early and protect them before 9.30am. The pool man does his best to remove blocked beds but it’s not ideal as no one does it on his day off. I was sure the pool we sat at was considered adults only but it sadly wasn’t / tonnes of flotation beds / balls and children. I was shocked that so many didn’t use the children’s pools which were lovely and had a lovely water slide to entertain. Overall the family theme stood out a mile as the children’s entertainment was lively & fun. The adult entertainment was lacking in parts and pretty cramped for space on the hotel veranda. Adults could retreat to the small champagne bar.

We enjoyed our vacation- it’s our second time. The room was large enough to fit 2 adults and 2 teens (14, 16) comfortably. We had fun and quiet in the pool which was not the main one, as we had access from our room. Recommended!

Excellent hotel, everything from rooms to food to staff was excellent. Drinks are also excellent and not the cheap stuff you usually get with all inclusives. Having the restaurants within the hotel is very convenient and the food there is also great. Added bonus of having a desert restaurant which stays open into the night.

I’d give 5* to kids club facilities & staff. Great entertainments, safe conditions, lovely and friendly staff. Restaurant options, menu and service were also great. Only downside is it was difficult to get a booking for certain restaurants. Cons The hotel looks a bit worn out, especially rooms, sun beds and spa area. Bare minimum was done when cleaning rooms. Repetitive meals in main restaurant, limited food choices especially for people with food allergies Overall we had a pleasant stay, although it didn’t always feel as luxury 5* holiday

Hotel is amazing , rooms faultless . Main restaurant food and staff are great . Only let down is the pool bars and booked restaurants ,they lack character and a personal touch which the others have in abundance. Kids swimming pool is great and life guard (Mary) lovely. Kids shows are also very good entertainment.

Its an amazing location beautiful views of the sea. So close to the sea and very accessible too.

Great stay, great value, friendly service. Just watch out form the stuff driving the carts at night too fast through the resort.

Lovely stay

We had an amazing stay at Mitsis laguna in Crete. Our room was well designed and equipped with everything we need. The food was brilliant and lots of choice, we especially enjoyed eating at the Italian, cretan and Asian restaurants. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be trying more Mitsis hotels!

Everything was 10/10!!!

Really enjoyed our stay. Family friendly property. The beach in front of the property was not great but you could walk to a much nicer beach. I would suggest perhaps having a train or something to transport guests to the nicer beach.

Very friendly staff who all seem to go out of thier way to help, rooms modern and clean with nice extras. Plenty of space. Very varied food choices at all times of day & night.

A wonderful holiday at the Mitsis Laguna! The best hotel with the best staff! My family and I spent 11 nights at the Mitsis Laguna and had the most amazing and relaxing holiday. The hotel itself is great with excellent facilities, very clean and with great dining options. The food served at all the restaurants was of an excellent quality, tasty and plentiful. Most importantly, all the staff were amazing! Very friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. They all went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. For me this sets the hotel head and shoulders above the rest. Thank you very much to the whole Team! The best thing about this hotel is the service. The best i have seen. Everyone is professional and friendly. There is nothing in the area within walking distance but 10 mins taxi drive to Hesronesou lots of bars and restaurants to cater for all ages. Definitely recommend the hotel.

Amazing service

Hotel is well setup, the various restaurant options is a welcoming variant from the buffet option, sushi bar is nice with a preset platter and no bookings required, my advice is to take beach shoes if you are going to venture into the sea due the rock surface.

Overall experience was very positive. We were happy with food and drinks selection. Pools were great. Unfortunately entrants to the sea has a lot of rocks. Every night shows for kids are not very exciting. Everything else was great.

Not quite awesome

They touted themselves as a 5-star, "ultra all inclusive" resort. The resort itself might be more like 4.5 star as it could use a little TLC in some areas. We checked in to find water all over our bathroom floor from an apparent leaky toilet. After 3 different calls to the front desk, an employee came in and laid a towel down in front of the toilet. That was their repair! I had asked various questions (like meal times, how to book reservations at the restaurants, etc.) and was just told to refer to their website. I couldn't even find the correct website! I had to call the front desk and have the lady walk me through each click on the website, only to learn that there were no reservations available at any of their restaurants! I didn't even know there was a gym on the premises until I happened upon it while searching for a restroom. Information at check-in was definitely lacking. Many of the employees there were not really friendly. They appeared to dislike their jobs. We have stayed at many different all inclusive resorts in several different countries, and this has to be the worst service I've ever received, despite the physical beauty of the place. I would recommend they send management and/or staff to an all-inclusive in the Caribbean to learn how to operate. I will also add that the beach is very rocky and not very swimmable. But the rooms were very spacious.

The AC will not be efficient, especially in a very hot day, Food is good, a lot of options, and very tasty, something that you rarely find in an all inclusive. Great activities , the highlight of the facilities is the big pool! Great immense pool, clean water, a lot of chairs around it. Don’t expect too great of the bar service, cocktails are not great! Overall meeting expectations for a luxury all inclusive resort, I will be back if I will chose the room on the ground floor with shared pool option instead of sea view! Top floors are way too hot in the summer.

I had an all inclusive at the Laguna Mitsis resort and they did not disappoint. All our needs was anticipated and catered to. I arrived on a very late flight and still had hot food waiting for me. The room was perfect for my needs and all amenities available at all times. The event was a 60th birthday celebration and they pulled out all the stops to make it a success. All in all it was a first class experience and service given with a smile.

Seasoned travelers, usually 5* or boutique hotels. We (2 adults and 1 child; 1 year old) stayed for a week Apr/May in a Bungalow sea view with whirlpool (room 442). The room was perfect! This hotel is excellent and it really is what should be expected from a 5* (in Europe). The hotel has a new fresh feel, extremely clean, lots of amenities, well set out with different areas to use. Excellent pools with decent sun loungers. The staff were all amazing, very helpful polite and nothing is too much trouble. The beach is very well situated (in relation to the hotel along the beach front) with the same butler service as the hotel; drinks to your Sun lounger. The entertainment was ok, boarder line sub standard if you want to be entertained. However, it didn’t affect us or our stay as we had our little boy so didn’t stay up too late. Other guests seemed to have a good time making their own entertainment. The food in the a la carte’s is good (Pan Asian was the best), good snacks throughout the day. Although, the buffet, is not great. After a day the food was very boring, always the same options, a disappointment; not that it spoiled our holiday but they could put on theme nights or change at least one food station. This hotel had a really nice relaxing feel with nice staff and equally nice guests. Great for small families (not hundreds of screaming kids). No real complaints except be aware of the buffet, would highly recommend.

Fantastic! Staff is wonderful. We were never treated better at a resort. Food was delicious and there were so many options. Main pool was heated so eventhough it was not hot out yet when we visited we were still able to enjoy it. Absolutely everything was included in the price all drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic, food and desserts. Room refigerators were stocked with water, soft drinks and wine which was also included. If you are going to miss a meal due to an excurision request a boxed meal to take with you but make sure you request it atleast 24 hours in advance. Also make your reservations for the specialty resturants in advance especially if you are traveling during thier peak season. We tried the Cretian resturant which was excellent and helped keep us from over eating at the buffet (again all of the resturants are included in the all inclusive there is no extra charge) I would highly recommend this resort.

Beautiful resort and very friendly/helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel and I will probably go back!! There is so much to do at the hotel and if you want to book an adventure off site the staff is so accommodating. The beach is pretty but very rocky, so don’t expect white sand beach here.

5-star service from a 5-star resort! Every member of the staff from the front desk to the restaurant team was as welcoming and as accomodating as can be! Even though the weather wasn't in our favor during our stay, the Mitsis Laguna offered amazing hospitality and a relaxing experience that made our trip worthwhile. The restaurant and bar staff treated everyone as VIPs regardless of how much traffic the dining hall was getting at any given time. We look forward to coming back again to the Mitsis Laguna as soon as possible!

We went there for a week to celebrate our anniversary. Overall the resort is good. All inclusive Meals were good. Swimming pools are clean and maintained. The indoor swimming pool was closed due to Covid precautions. However the beach water is stony so swimming in sea was not a easy leisure. There were not much swimming or sporting activities for adults. Also the evening entertainment was missing. They could have done with more activities for adults. But overall it was a comfortable stay.

The rooms and pools and restaurants were great, but the food was not 5 star quality. However, the cost can’t be beat for all inclusive meals and drinks.

Facility is great, nice pools, the food was okey, some restaurant servers were rude I guess because they are short on stuff. Beach is rocky, take water shoes with you and snorkeling mask. We had also issue with ants, I found 2 nights in raw ants in the bed, but housekeeping keep spraying the room, so we didn’t see much by the end of our stay.

Room was small, and the bed was uncomfortable. The privacy was mediocre as I could hear everything my neighbors said and did. The staff was very nice. And the location was convenient.

The property is very lovely. The service and staff was amazing! Food was okay. We enjoyed most the Chinese restaurant of all the options but definitely not 5 star quality. The one slide at the kids pool kept the kids busy. Also, every evening there is some sort of entertainment such as magic show which was nice. The location is far from the center for those who like to explore places. The beach is not the best. No hot water in the shower - only warm water coming out during our entire stay. The day we checked out, I woke up early to make it to the ferry - there was no warm water at all.

The third time staying here, and I was unsure how it would be given the pandemic. I was not disappointed - the staff were incredible, service was wonderful and I felt so safe - hand sanitiser on all tables, doors and temperature checks before entering any bar or restaurant. The hotel itself is a little sanctuary of tranquility and the staff could not have done anymore to make us feel like royalty. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Mitsis!

Great selection of food and drinks from the all inclusive. Has a nice pool and located near the beach.

We recently stayed at your hotel and I feel a bit let down by the service we received. On arriving we were told about booking the ala carte restaurants online. I tried for 24hrs with a constant error message. I went to reception for help by which time There was no availability with the exception of an evening meal at the Italian on day 5 of our stay. During our stay we observed empty tables within the restaurants. It should be made clear to guests that they have to book as soon as they arrive otherwise they won’t get a table. We also requested a late check out, which I understand could not be facilitated however just as we were doing our final checks, making sure we had everthink when telephone rang at 12.07 to tell us we needed the room I feel this was a bit over the top we was only 7minutes late in leaving the room. On one of our days we visited the spa’s pool facilities at an expense of 10€ per person. We found the floor was wet and dirty. Neither the pool or the jacuzzi was heated as advertised and the jacuzzi jets didn’t stay on for more than a minute at a time. A far cry from luxury.

The staff where friendly and helpfull and the crepe station was brilliant offering a wide range if sweet and savoury crepes. We had a sea view bungalow which was unfortunately up several flights of steps which had we have know at the time of booking would have booked a different room. The bungalows are very close to the main pool and the crepe station whichnis open till 4am so we got disturbed in numerous nights with the noise from the drunk people having crepes. The food was good abd catered but everyones taste unfortunately the drink choice was lacking. Great if you drink spirits ot cocktails but there was only 1 beer that wasn't very nice. All the rooms have a free mini bar which is re stocked daily which was a nife touch.

Liked the layout and the staff, who generally work very hard. Disliked the food, thought the buffet was too 'canteen' like and the restaurant booking system is just madness. Greece has some lovely food, but most of the buffet was too westernised for us, we would have preferred more local products. This is not really the standard we would expect of a 5 star property, and we've been to plenty. Room was not especially clean, and could do with a refurb. Quite disappointed really, as other reviews suggested this would be on a par with the last 5 star we stayed at in Egypt "Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh", which is a truly excellent hotel and well worth of the 5 star status. Such a shame, as a few relatively small changes could put this in the real 5 star league.

Simply Amazing!

Upon arrival we were just amazed at how beautiful and welcoming this Resort was. The staff was amazing and very attentive to all of our needs. Room, view and location were perfect. Although there was really nothing around the area, there was really no need to go out of the resort. There was so much to do as well as time to relax. We were very pleased with our 4 day stay and wish it would have been longer! We highly recommend this resort to anyone traveling to Crete.

Excellent food and service - wonderful staff, very clean

When we checked in, we were immediately upgraded to a Family Room, which was obviously a bit bigger than the standard bungalow with a much nicer view. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The resort is beautiful on the outside, however inside the room was a bit dated, especially the bathroom. I didn't like the fact that the bathroom didn't have an exhaust so we had to leave the window open for fresh air. The window also did not have any net so there were ants and mosquitos coming inside our room. After the recent rise in the mosquito virus, we were too afraid to risk anything. We killed at least 7 mosquitos and had to complain to the receptionist about it. The manager eventually had a net installed to the window. Another thing is that they don't provide an iron/iron board with the room for "safety reasons" and charge you for every piece of clothing you need ironed, and housekeeping will iron it for you. I mean, I traveled to a lot of countries and every hotel I stayed in provided an iron. After requesting it and explaining nicely why we needed an iron and if they can do something about it, the manager was kind enough to leave an iron and a board in our room. There were a few other small issues but the staff were very nice and patient and did everything they could possibly do to make our stay pleasant. I was initially going to give a 3 star, but at the end of my stay I decided they deserve a 5 star for trying to take care of us.

We stayed here for 6 days and it was great! The staff were lovely and were always happy to help, constantly making sure we had everything we needed. The staff by the pool always had someone walking around requesting drinks orders which was a nice touch. The hotel itself was stunning, we stayed in a bungalow which was right next to the main pool and next to the beach, it was lovely! The only downside was the bathroom in our room, there were long black hairs all over the bathroom and the bath was dirty, luckily we didn’t use it. Other than that, the rest of the hotel was kept clean and tidy and constantly had people running around making sure it was in good shape. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again! Thank you :)

The staff were incredibly helpful throughout and so polite. Food was outstanding, not only are the a la carte brilliant, the main restaurant buffet was surprisingly wonderful. Such great food options and so well done. The ONLY moan we had was that aqua aerobics being done in the main pool came with very loud pumping music which isnt nice when relaxing but everything else was spot on. Cant wait to go back!

Amazing place to Stay. The property is large and has a beautiful set up. Enjoyed using the swimming pool and the outside bar where they serve call drinks and Ice cream throughout the day. As a vegetarian I would have expected more options and variations of vegetarian food throughout my stay. A little disappointed that this was non-existent. I was also disappointed to learn that the indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi is not heated despite the fact that guests have to pay €10 per person per use. The property has offsite car park which is great and the staff are very friendly and always ready to assist you. Overall I would rate this 4/5

Great value resort !!! Exceeded our expectations

Resort exceeded our expectations. Got upgraded to a room that had a huge balcony with a Jacuzzi. Room was also very nice and clean. Service was great and all staff very friendly and helpful. Grounds well kept. Our only disappointment was the gym needs to be upgraded. Although we worked out almost everyday they could use more equipment and please move the treadmills back so you can actually see TVs instead of just watching yourself run in the mirrors

Excellent all round - staff friendly and helpful, food v good, public areas kept clean and tidy at all times, food available almost round the clock, beach area small but lovely, good beach towels, live entertainment every eve, generally a gorgeous place to stay! Particularly liked the creperie, open until 1am ... midnight sugar and cinnamon crepes became a little treat before bed :-) I might have liked longer lunch and dinner hours in the main restaurant. An extra half-hour in both cases. But this is a detail :-) Fabulous place to stay, thank you to the whole team!

The swimming pools are fantastic - absolutely huge and the right temperature for proper swimming. The aqua class was fun - a bit too long but good to work off some of the food!! The creperie was fantastic, as was the sushi - the service was too slow in all the restaurants and bars though. The bathrooms didn't get cleaned until we complained which was a shame. The rest of the hotel was clean though.

Nearly perfect holiday hotel.

Pretty much perfect holiday hotel, very friendly staff and people in areas nearby. Few things to note. All the theme restaurants can only be booked once per stay. If you stay long time, you might end up with permanent buffet options, which are not bad at all actually. They don't provide hairbrush, toothbrush or toothpaste. Dress code in Sushi bar is very selective by person who enters. In case of need of doctor you might not find one fast unless it's from 10 to around 4 pm. Bring your own medicibe, unless you want to take 16 EU taxi to buy nose spray.
