I agonised over which island in the Maldives I should book. After researching forever I chose Mirihi. It was the perfect choice! My wife and I loved our week there because its a small island with few villas and the staff make you feel like you are part of their family. The island is traditional Maldivian and not over developed or corporatised. The house reef kept us entertained for hours viewing sharks, rays (even a manta ray), dolphins and any number of reef fish. The whale shark and diving trips were well run and intimate with only 5 people on our boat each time! Finally, the food! Oh wow the food is just magnificent and plentiful. Thank you Mirihi for the holiday of a lifetime. We will be back as soon as we can!!
Heaven on Earth
If there is a place heaven on earth, it must be Mirihi Island.. Our 12 nights stay was absolutely perfect. The villa, the food, the service, courtesy and friendliness of the staff, arrival and departure experience, housekeeping, excursions were spot on... It was our 2nd stay and we hope to see Mirihi 3rd time...
Resort was outstanding. Everything was top of the line. Island was beautiful with white sand and water was every shade of blue imaginable with great visibility. Food was excellent, staff was friendly and the rooms are spotless. Although the reef was mostly dead as it is most places in the Maldives and the world, it is showing signs of recovering. Having said all of that the snorkeling was great, saw sharks, turtles, and thousands of fish of all sizes. There are resorts that are more expensive in the Maldives but i cant imagine they would be any better than Mirihi. If Mirihi is of your list book it, you wont be disappointed.
Very perfect environment! Many sea turtles sharks dolphin all around Mirihi Island! The staffs are so friendly and helpful! Very wonderful memories of us! We will be back!!
Very, very nice island resort
This small, intimate island resort is an excellent place to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Start with yoga in the morning, some breakfast at the buffet, then snorkeling or swimming or diving, maybe some coffee, then meditation or a massage, followed by wonderful a dinner buffet that is different every night. Sleep on the deck over the waves at your water villa. Repeat the next day. What a way to spend your time.
House reef, beaches, spa and food all excellent. Really extensive breakfast buffet. Lovely canapes and cocktails at sunset
Best staff and service and view and fish ever. No other hotels can be as private service as this.
It was magical the first day and then it got really quiet and dull. The food was extremely overpriced and not many restaurant choices. The resort was empty and with out life, like a ghost town that once upon a time was busy and hosted many guests but not anymore.
Mirihi is a little piece of paradise, gorgeous island, excellent and friendly staff, delicious food and the marine life is wonderful!
Paradise
Wonderful resort, fantastic service, amazing variety of delicious food & great diving
Exceeding Expectations
This was our first visit to Maldives. The stay at Mirhi Island Resort exceeded our expectations on all levels. The staff team & service was outstanding. We visited during the time of the State of Emergency and decided to change our arrival plans at the last minute. The hotel arranged for a team of staff to meet us at the airport, accompanying us throughout the domestic transfer and boat to the resort arriving around 1:30am. They were also thoughtful to provide food in our room upon arrival - totally unexpected. For an unforgettable experience, sign up for the sunset sailing with champagne and dolphins.
Mirihi Island Resort - An Outstanding Hotel
Probably the most beuatiful beach place in which I stay in my life. The island is absolutely wonderful and the hotel is a luxury one in the real sense of the word. All employes, starting from the General Manager, are really kind an the service level is at the top. The two restaurants serve really high cousine, great thematic dining buffets.
Nice hotel but prices too high
Nice and clean hotel, nice snorkeling and good diving. Lowlight is basically that prices for food are too expensive, not proporcional to the quality received. Additionally it does not provide free snorkeling guided activities even at the house reef, which is available in many other resorts. The snorkeling activities offered in October take a considerable boat time and are expensive. Find the quality of the food average. As highlights, the sandy beach and the privacy in the water villas.
Best holiday
Spent our honeymoon also celebrated my birthday on this beautiful island. From the moment the flight landed on Male airport, we were so impressed with the details of a holiday resort could possibly provide. They made us feel special from everyone in the Mirihi team- management to room attendant, and they truly created an experience what will last in our memory lifetime long. Thank you Mirihi Island!
As good as it gets
My first time to write a hotel review. Couldn't resist. Been to Maldives four times and this hotel is the best so far. The staff is great and willing to accommodate any need. They know when to be there for you and when to leave you on our own. The property and surrounding water is breathtaking. Island is small and sometimes you feel like you're the only people there. They surprisingly arranged a free tour of Male city as we had a few hours to wait for our departing flight. Would highly this hotel to anyone.
Stunningly beautiful
This was our first time in Mirihi, and we were extremely impressed by the professional staff whose only care seemed to be our comfort and happiness during our stay. The surroundings are picture-perfect: turquoise seas, white, soft sands, beautiful, spotless island, and stunning villas. The whole place is designed to be walked on barefoot. I was surprised by the sandy floor in the reception, restaurant and bar. How wonderful! Günther, the manager, as well as other staff members, make it a point to welcome you personally as you arrive off the seaplane (or off the boat from an excursion). The villas feature all the amenities possible, including a plug/voltage converter. This attention to details is reflected in the cleanliness of the villas: they are made over twice a day, once in the morning, a second time for the turndown in the evening, when chocolates are provided along with a nice little card. The buffets are fantastic. In the evening, one of the two chefs will guide you through the thematic dishes of the day, proudly and passionately explaining the different dishes and answering any question that guests might have. Speaking of guests, we are truly treated as guests, as Günther, Silvia, Svend or Anica will regularly come and chat with you to see how your day was, just as hosts will do. The house reef is stunning, and within reach just a few meters off the beach. Dive master Chris and his colleague Philipp are passionate about diving. We attended a movie/presentation on t
A fantastic stay at a paradise location
Our stay at Mirihi was genuinely faultless, great facilities, excellent service, and amazing food. The staff couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We would definitely consider revisiting the resort.
Amazing 3 nights
It our first time in the Maldives and we are so glad that we chose Mirihi Island resort. We know exactly what we are looking for and the Resort provides exactly what we want. It is a small island and very quiet. We were on a breakfast and dinner meal plan. Foods were delicious and plenty. Without having to take a trip out to see marine life, there are enough around the island within walking, snorkeling, swimming distance to see them.
Wow, just incredible!
Full house and it never felt that way! The units are spaced nicely apart and provide a good deal of privacy. We stayed in the over water villa and LOVED it. From there we could climb right into our own aquarium from our back porch. Yes, the snorkeling is that good!
Amazing resort and staff. Fantastic food.
Excellent resort. Small number of rooms really makes us feel different. Staff very attentive but not overly so. Food was consistently excellent. Can't praise enough.
Just book it!
Great place to stay. Staff make the holiday. Food to die for.
phenominal cuisine and laid back resort
Fantastic peaceful and relaxed! The coral reef has taken an el Nino beating but the fish life is still abundant. The facilities are wonderful and the staff is always attentive to your needs. It felt very personal and welcoming. Arrange for a snorkel or dive excursion to the nearby Conrad reef which is out to sea further and therefore experiences cooler water temps. El Nino didn't hit that one as hard and there is good coral there. Global warming is for real folks. This resort was fantastic.
Stay here if you want to go diving!
Best place to stay if you want to dive with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays in the Maldives! Resort facilities were fantastic and the staff were incredible, made our stay such a memorable experience!
Perfection at all levels
Perfection...met all our expectations that were very very high
Spectacular Honeymoon Stay
Stayed at Mirihi for part of our honeymoon in the Maldives and had a spectacular stay. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly and the resort is very well kept up - everything looked new. We booked an overwater villa, which I definitely recommend. The food was all excellent. We were on half board, so we ate at the buffet for breakfast and dinner. Each night there is a different theme, Maldivian night was great. We ate at the bar for lunch each day, and everything we ordered there was very tasty. The house reef is perfect! It's very easily accessible, and there are tons of fish. We did see a shark, which was the goal of my trip, so that was awesome. We took the small catamaran over to the neighboring uninhabited island on day (Pineapple Island). It was cool to basically have our own island for a bit and there is good snorkeling there as well (we also saw a shark there). Definitely a cool trip if you don't get sea sick, it can get a little rough in a few patches since it's such a small boat. We also took a boat over to Conrad one evening for dinner at the famous underwater restaurant Ithaa. That was incredibly delicious and we certainly recommend it. We do suggest you email Conrad directly, they let us make a reservation weeks in advance, but they won't let hotels make reservations in advance for you. Overall we had a spectacular stay and would certainly return. Highly recommend!
Ideallic/Tranquil if you're after peace & quiet. Lots of scuba, diving, whale shark trips etc. Food is first rate and staff are too!
Island paradise
Beautiful island and resort in the middle Of a coral reef. Impeccable service.
Perfect relaxing getaway
Amazing location, amazing staff, amazing food. And we even had amazing weather the whole time too!
Amazing snorkeling location
Hotel is very raw, unique and organic .. It seems like one of the maldivian hotels that really respects the wild life . Very freindly staff it felt like I was home, I especially love how it is 'a shoe free' island ! It is a place that is suitable for people who are looking for a non commercial vibe .. And looking for absolute peace and quietness. (For that you need to notice that there is no pool or water motor activities at the hotel)
Absolute Paradise!
For 24 hours (including all the layovers) our journey from NYC to Mirihi (our first trip to the Maldives) appeared daunting. Having little knowledge of the Maldives we let our minds be open for what lay ahead. And the expectations were redefined upon arrival at Mirihi. It's quite a thrilling arrival by seaplane to say the least, but the presence of serenity is felt the moment you step on the dock. Greeted by the most genuine staff we have ever experienced, we were introduced to the amenities and our water villa. Every single step on this island was creating a memory to be cherished as one of the most pristine and beautiful places we ever visited. The island is small and you will be able to circle it on foot within 15 minutes which is such an advantage as every angle and beachfront offers a feeling of sublime relaxation. You truly feel you are in the middle of the Indian Ocean on a private island. What is even more amazing is that you hardly see any of the other guests except when you come around for dinner at the main restaurant. We also left NYC with the intent of finishing our PADI Diving certification and heard many positive reviews of the Ocean Pro Diving located at Mirhi. Well the reviews were not only correct but having the pleasure to work with the staff at this resort would make us come back just for that. A fantastic international team of professionals who love what they do and sharing a dive with them is a memory that will be with us forever!
nice stay :)
Wonderful!
Will go back for sure
Excellent location with beautiful water perfect for snoggling. The food is very delicious. The staff are freindly and helpful. I had been to others hotels in maldives and this is certainly one of the best
Relaxing Getaway
People at Mirihi were fabulous, from the GM, Sureesh, to the resident Chef, Felix and also Fernando, to all the dinning staff, Moosa and so many more, divemaster Fluo was the best we have ever encountered. We loved the whale shark and manta ray tour. The guides were very eager for us to swim with the rays and sharks, but bear in mind this will require at least a set of fins to keep up with the whale shark. That was simply magical. Rooms were clean and everyone was professional, helpful, friendly, and made our stay a wonderful and relaxing experience. Thank you so much!! We had an unforgettably lovely 15th Anniversary. Not forgetting Ali, Bannister and Sunish who helped with arrangements.
A little Paradise
This holiday lived up to all our expectations. The hotel is fantastic, the staff are all very professional, taking a pride in their work and seemingly enjoying it. The quality was high throughout - the room, the fittings, the food and the services offered. The beaches and paths were swept daily. We stayed on a half board basis which was ample for us. We had the odd beer at lunchtime, but the quality and variety offered at breakfast meant that we were not hungry until the evening. The only slight grouse I would have is that the drinks are very expensive. Very high quality, but expensive. Also, the prices shown were exclusive of taxes - could be more transparent here. Other than that, no faults. The staff really want everyone to beve the best experience that they can and constantly check with guests to ensure that everything is ok. Highly recommend this hotel.
a very nice island
everything is exceptional except the food..the hotel tried to provide different theme every day for dinner buffet but the family are not use to a few of the varieties
Great hotel
Mihiri is an amazing hotel in a great location. The atmosphere is awesome, the staff is wonderful, and I experienced some of the best snorkeling of my life right outside my room. The beds were a little on the hard side, and you have to take a seaplane to get there from Male (it's a fun 25 minute flight if you don't mind smaller planes) soits not the easiest resort to get to. Not much to do on the island, but that's part of what makes it great. The food is very good as well, with lots of choices.
Paradise <3
We enjoyed our 1 week stay at Mirihi Island Resort. Although it was a journey to get there from the states, we recommend this island very much! If you want to relax and get away from a busy life, this is the place to be. They have 30 water villas and 5 beach villas. Stay in a water villa..it was amazing! You can have a beautiful view while showering ;) or you have an option to close the doors. The ratio for guest to wait staff is at most 70:120. We went in June, which is one of their slow months. They made the rooms twice a day which is very nice. We got to enjoy many exotic fruits at the breakfast and dinner buffet every day on the beach. There was always a themed dinner -Italian, Oriental, all time classics, BBQ, Asian, Maldivian, and seafood night. We signed up for the private beach dinner for my husband's 30th birthday. They let us watch the sun set and then made us our dinner. We did the mixed plate meat&seafood but it was a lot of food. They made a cake for him and gave us a nice surprise in our room...champagne and decorated the bed to say HAPPY BDAY THANH -his name. There were excursions to sign up for every day but you have to have two couples sign up to go. We did the whale shark excursion but weren't able to see any. We did get to see manta rays and dolphins which was great! We kayaked a couple times and played ping pong. There were darts and a little field to play in. All in all it was everything we hoped for :) Thanks to the Mirihi Team for our romantic getaway!
brilliant
Everything is so great. I will definitely go back, and stay for longer times.
Perfect the way it is!
It was beautiful, clean, private and peaceful. We loved the fact that the island was so small with very few guests, which made it easy for us to walk around from one end to the other, and have private spots all to ourselves all the time. The service was excellent, the rooms were very clean, the reef was good, and the food too. We loved the BBQ night the most, especially the grilled baby back ribs! It would be very hard for us to appreciate another resort now. We loved Mirihi!
Mihiri Island Resort
Hotel staff were absolutely terrific, and did there best to make our stay enjoyable. the snorkelling was great. What really made Mirihi, was the solitude and total sense of privacy.A great experience for those not wanting a lot to do. Drinks could be a little pricey
Great service. Very good food in Muruka restaurant. Very quiet and private w/o too much crowds and noise. Very kind of them to allow free use of available room after checkout time because of late return flight. Not much sports activities. Buffet overpriced. Seaplane journey should provide earplugs to shut out the deafening noise from the engine. Too a trip to another island resort for sea sports. Receive great service from Ali who make sure that we were really taken care of by another friend on the other resort. Saw the whale shark, dolphins and manta ray.
Awesome
absolute paradise intimate, service and staff outstanding
Excellent and convenient house reef
We generally had a very positive experience but there were some things that were less than perfect when we hard heard how good the service was at the resort. We were disappointed when we were not allocated a room in the area we wanted, nearer the house reef, despite telling them months in advance and also since it was our honeymoon. The checkout experience appeared a bit disorganised compared to the arrival, we felt we got more attention arriving then leaving. They had ran out of earplugs for the seaplane which was annoying and luckily the plane had spares. Despite this, the service was generally very good but not perfect. Spa was a bit disappointing and we paid around $90 for a 75 minute massage for each of us. It was good but we had experienced better in other resorts. They can definitely upgrade the spa experience. Their excursions were quite expensive and they could have some lower priced options. However, it was good that they offered free kayaking and windsurfing facillities. Snorkels were for hire so I would recommend bringing your own. The house reef was amazing and very convenient that we didn't have to take a boat and could just swim from the beach. Food was excellent in the evenings (we had half board) and the chef came out each evening to talk to guests which was a nice touch. Waiters were attentive and gave good service. Staff in general seem well treated which shows in their friendliness. Overall very good but with some minor areas for improvement.
Away from it all
Very small island with no entertainment team and nothing but you, the sea and a a sprinkling of other guests to contend with. Food quality is exceptional, the chef is very knowledgeable on world cuisine. Service is very good throughout your stay which is helped by the small number of guests, max 70-80 with over 140 staff looking after them. I would recommend this resort for honeymooners. Approx 30 mins from male via seaplane transfer.
Amazing honeymoon at Mirihi
Small, secluded resort on a gorgeous island. The staff was extremely friendly and seemed to have a genuine interest in ensuring that your stay met or exceeded your expectations. Incredible house reef. I really enjoyed the fact that there was no nightly entertainment to take attention away from the beauty of the environment. I enjoyed spending my evenings lounging on my villa patio watching all of the interesting fish and sharks that were swimming a few feet away. The only negative comment was the food wasn't always that tasty (a bit rich for me), but they otherwise provided an excellent selection of food and the menu changed daily.
Perfect honeymoon resort
Wonderful resort - quiet, luxurious, a very special place. We had two weeks of utter bliss at Mirihi and could have stayed longer despite the seasonally unreliable and changeable May weather.
Mirihi
Beautiful island...I'd love to revisit this island later.
Absolutey lives up to the 5-star reviews
We stayed at Mirihi for 6 nights for our honeymoon and it was a special experience. The small island allowed the staff to give a truely personalized service. The resort manager Martin talked with every guest and the Chef Fernando was out every meal to explain the exceptional culinary dishes. We picked this resort because of the good reviews of the house reef. Snorkeling was like swimming in a aquarium, and fish and turtles acted as if we were not even there. We went snorkeling at least 3 days every day! Hope to be back for our anniversary.
Very Impressed
This has to be the most amazing place on Earth! The staff are fantastic from the minute you arrive - the service is incredible. The accommodation is spotless and everything is of the highest quality. The rooms are huge, the bathrooms lovely with their glass doors opening onto the sea....total privacy, so you can shower without closing the shutters. The coral reef with all the wonderful fish are just below you and the tranquility is heaven. We even manage to snorkel at night from our patio, as there is a light underneath the water chalets...There is amazing choice of food - the buffet style evening meals are fantastic. I once again departed with a few added pounds...LoL... :o))) Snorkeling was really good, really nice house reef with good coral, tons of fishes and we saw 2 turtles, whitetip and blacktip sharks when snorkeling on the house reef. Diving was also quite good (doesn't beat the red sea though), but at least I saw a few eagle ray and stingray and tons of beautiful fish. The highlight was diving the last day and we manage to see Manta ray's and Whale Sharks... Awesome, awesome!!!!!! I can go on & on about this, but you have to experienced it for yourself, so you know what I'm talking about.....
Unique experience without naked feet all the way through!
Fofíssimo!
Uma fofura o hotel! Todos muito simpáticos!
Da non perdere
Bellissima isola, servizio superlativo
Great stay
This island hotel is a small paradise. Everything was great, the room, the diving, the stuff, and specially the food, it was a real culinary experience.
Kleine Und exklusive Insel. Erfreulicherweise ohne Pool, ohne TV.
Well done
Alles in allem perfekt!!! Danke es war traumhaft
Unvergesslich!
Mirihi - as unique as you - perfekter Service
Absolut empfehlenswert!
Heaven on earth
Fantastic memory, great experience and beautiful food and accommodation.
We will be back a.s.a.p. :-) Kri&St
Wie bisher jedes Mal Alles Perfekt . Empfang Aufmerksamkeiten Essen!!!. Tauchschule, Service und Zimmerservice verdienen besonderes Lob.

A wonderful, welcoming stay in a dream-like setting! They were so hospitable to a solo-traveling woman and I felt completely comfortable the whole time. If you are hesitant to travel to the Maldives by yourself, Mihiri is the place for you!!! 5 stars
