Stayed at minang cove resort for 5 days as part of a family (teenagers) holiday and absolutely loved it! Superb staff, mix of relaxation and activities, good food and drink, and of course shark feeding from the jetty at 9 o'clock every night!

A lovely, tranquil getaway with delightful and friendly staff. Perfect.

Wonderful Boutique Resort

Great service. Food can be more spiced up with local cooking style e.g. assam fish, sambal sotong, rendang ... for dinner n nasi lemak for breakfast .

A pleasant surprise

This is a small hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff are incredibly attentive; the food is simple but prepared with care and there are a number of activities organized by smiling and helpful staff. This hotel does not have Wi-Fi but this was clearly adviced before I booked and although i was hesitant initially about this, I learnt to live without it and I might do this more often from now on. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly, spectacular location, clean, on beach

Very small hotel/resort. Fantastic experience. Extremely friendly hotel staff. Very clean. Well organised. Food is set but different theme each night and delicious. Snorkelling straight off the beach. Plenty of wildlife.

What an experience! The resort was everything you could want for a short break. The staff were helpful, the food was good and the snorkeling was super.

Small family run resort operating at high standard

Intimate feel. Our 6 y.o. was the only child there at the time, but staff made him very welcome. The beach can get a bit rocky at low tide. The beach is protected from surf and "enclosed" by a rock jetty so safe for kids. Food was good, not great, but fine. Grounds are pretty. Nice walks to the village, waterfall (longer walk) and nearby resort. Boat transfers from the ferry's drop off are a bit pricey. But all in all a very good stay. We were happy to be at this small resort rather than one of the big ones. Great tea time each day for a drink and snack! Beautiful water views (we had a waterside room). No wi-fi and only 2 G data. Go on, disconnect!

Amazing

Stayed here for 2 nights. We were welcomed by the owner, Tony when we reached the private Jetty. Followed by welcome drink and towel. It was a good start. Tony explained to us about his resort and scuba packages before we check in. That was very informative. To a city girl like me, I wasn't really enjoyed the 1st day because except snookering and eating, there is nothing much I can do (No WIFI, No Karaoke, No Board games etc). But after a night, I started to feel the beauty of it. I learned to relax (I think this is what Tony wants their guests to be), enjoy the sun, sea, and every breeze and star. During the Shark feeding at 9pm, we laid on the bench, looking at the sky counting the stars. It was amazing. We truly enjoyed it. Meal - Breakfast and Dinner are provided. But I think their dinner starts a bit late, at 8pm. My kids were extremely hungry after so much exercise during the day. So I would suggest you to bring some snacks just in case. Sea - beautiful bay they have. We spotted beautiful fishes near the jetty. It's not easy to spot baby shark and turtle. A bit disappointed but overall, we still happy with what we saw. Especially the last day we finally spotted a sea turtle but too bad, we were packed and leaving soon. Will I go back again? Definitely. We miss the crew and will definitely plan to take the diving course one day.

Great resort, awesome reef

Tony, the owner, came to welcome us personally at the jetty when we arrived. He took such good care of us and made us feel so at home. The small resort gives very cosy personal service, was very quick in responding to queries and even helped us to purchase the ferry tickets which we picked up easily from their office near the Mersing ferry terminal. Though there was no WIFI or TV at the resort, we were too busy enjoying nature to even miss them. Appreciated the enforced detoxification from electronic gadgets and focus on family bonding. The unlimited free water, freshly made cakes for high tea, and delicious meals were nice touches. Also liked the sand toys, but suggest that there could also be some board games and free snorkelling equipment (instead of charging rental) The highlights of our trip was certainly the amazing reef not far from shore, full of colourful corals and fish. We even found a ray amongst the rocks! Another highlight was the nightly fish feeding at the jetty. It attracted at least 10 reef sharks! Our family had an awesome time and will love to come again. Certainly recommended for anyone in search for a quiet relaxing break.

a wonderful Malaysian stay

a very beautiful place to relax and get away from everything. Perfect for swimming,diving, a bit too hot at the time to undertake the walks. The accomodation was excellent, fantastic position overlooking the sea, food was superb, staff most friendly. On arrival my wife was overcoming a health problem, the owner showed concern and accommodated her needs well over the coming days. Highly recommend this for a getaway

Great isolated paradise location

4 days are great to relax and stay at the beach snorkeling without TV or Internet

Great and chill place.

I came with my family and had a relaxing time. The resort did not have wifi, which I thought was going to be an issue but it was nice to be unplugged for a couple of days. We did have lunch at the resort 10 minutes away to get wifi one day. The beach was beautiful and great access to snorkeling. The dive shop arrangements were really easy and laid back. The staff were friendly and laid back! I definitely will go back and recommend it.

Great place to relex

Overall a pleasant stay at minang cove. There are no wifi and no TV, so you may want to add some book reading into your check list. The service is excellent, all staff are helpful!

Idyllic Getaway

If you are looking for a friendly, relaxed place to escape to then this is it! Stunning location, friendly staff and a back to nature feel. Clean, simple accomodation, delicious food. Stormy and Becky offer great diving/ snorkelling experiences but great snorkelling straight off the beach. Bus and ferry from Singapore was easy.

Something that is different compared to other hotel is personal care by hotel's manager to each of clients. She explained to us about black out notified by electrity provider for example. The place also not so crowded so we felt more privacy.

A horrible holiday

we dont know that we have to pay an extral speed boat fee rm 300.A room that was no water supply after we had play at the sea water.I n my family had to sleep without shower at that night. The power supply also terrible the socket was no electric n we cant charged our handset..Food were limited choice.

An island resort getaway.

Lovely stay at this remote Tioman Island resort. Very friendly staff and with a personal touch. Nicholas (the manager) and Stormy (the diving instructor) were great and made our stay really enjoyable. The beach, coral and sea life was beautiful and the diving excellent. It was a real break and getaway, no need for WiFi, smartphones, or TV. The ratings for this resort are thoroughly deserved. We hope to be back one day!

Beautiful beach and coral, and incredible service.

I don't usually do reviews, but this was a really excellent experience. Minang cove is a fairly small group of chalets, and when we landed, all the staff we met knew which group we were in, and which chalet we were staying in. Minang's manager was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Arranging for any activity was really easy, and the staff take the time to tell you anything you need to know. The area near the shore at Minang Cove has a LOT of fish. We took a boat out to a nearby island, and snorkeled there too. The accommodations were comfortable and spacious (we had 4 people in a seaview cabin, and there was plenty of space, it was clean, and the view was nice). One thing though, there was no Wi-Fi; but after we reached, the lack of Wi-Fi was really not a concern. It was a great place to get away.

Posizione fantastica, bella spiaggia e mare stupendo con molti pesci per fare snorkeling. Piuttosto scarso il ristorante: colazione veramente minimale e pranzo e cena ripetitivi e di qualità mediocre. Nessuna possibilità di connessione a internet, non indicato nel sito WEB della struttura.

Top Lage und super Service

Zimmer ok, alles andere super. Der Service, das Essen abends meist sehr lecker. Viele Tiere im Dschungel zu sehen. Verbesserungsfähig fand ich die Schnorcheltrips, da man hier lediglich an 2 Spots gefahren wird und der Instructor eigentlich keinen Zweck erfüllt. Das Hausriff direkt am Resort ist super!

Underbart litet paradis

Minang cove är ett underbart litet hotell med mycket personlig service och fantastiska omgivningar. Den lilla viken som hotellet ligger i är som ett akvarium med fiskar i alla färger, sköldpaddor och ofarliga hajar. På land fanns apor och stora ekorrar. Djungelpromenad till toppen av berget eller till vattenfallet är höjdpunkter. Maten en annan liksom snorkling och dykning. Det enda vi saknade ibland vara wifi mer än 2 G.

Dieser Ort ist ein Traum! Ein Back-to-Basic Resor, in dem man die Zeit vergessen kann bei einer traumhaften Kulisse.

Paradise - suitable with and without baby :)

We had the most wonderful vacation at minang cove. Beforehand, we thought a lot about whether it makes sense to come there with our baby (7 months). Now, I can only encourage anyone with a child to come there. The staff was extraordinarily child friendly and helpful. The resort is very small so that we could even use our babyphon when the baby slept in the room at the beach and at the bar. There were many nice spots in the shadow and there where virtually no moquitos there which we didn`t expect. But we didn't like the place only because it was suitible for our baby. The place is a little paradise, the food is good and the rooms are really nice. Nevertheless, I should also point out that the beach is (very) small (which didn't bother us, because we had it almost to ourselves) and that many of the corals at the house reef are dead. For nicer corals I suggest to book a snorkeling tour. Moreover, the Spa was closed when we came there in Oktober (i.e., at the end of the season).

Das super nette und fröhliche Mitarbeiterteam sorgt für eine absolut positive Grundstimmung in dem kleinen Resort, die sich auf die Gäste überträgt.... Herzlichen Dank hierfür besonders an Managerin Anna. So soll Urlaub sein!

Nice hotel closes to the beach

Très bel endroit. Environnement magnifique. Repas de qualité. Personnel particulièrement agréable et disponible. Étions logés dans les "cabines" pour 4. Confort sommaire mais tout à fait acceptable. Activités proposées par l'hôtel (plongée et snorkeling) assez onéreuses. Très bon séjour (6 nuits) dans l'ensemble.

Séjour de rêve un bémol la chambre

L'emplacement de l'hôtel sur l'île de Tioman est extraordinaire et l 'infrastructure de l'hôtel, restaurant, plage, est formidable ! Le seul défaut c'est la chambre (cabane vue sur mer pour 4 personnes) au confort trop rudimentaire par rapport au standing et au prix de l'hôtel.

Ottimo soprattutto per coppie o famiglie con figli grandi, lo sconsiglio per bambini piccoli perché il mare è spesso mosso con correnti piuttosto forti.

Schitterend Resort Tioman

Een prachtig, klein en uitermate gezellig resort op Tioman. Eten is goed en personeel is bijzonder vriendelijk. Geen groot resort, maar dat is juist heerlijk.

Relaxte Tage mit viel Naturerlebnissen

Das Minang Cove Resort ist eine hübsche, kleine, familiengeführte Anlage mit angenehmer Atmosphäre - ideal für ein paar relaxte Tage am Meer. Alles ist sauber und gepflegt und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Verpflegung basiert auf asiatischer Küche, allerdings recht westlich orientiert. Die überwiegend westeuropäischen Gäste lieben die scharfen asiatischen Gewürze ja leider nicht so. Das Essen ist aber sehr schmackhaft und wird ansprechend serviert. Der Barbecueabend ist recht stimmungsvoll. Schön das Schnorcheln am eigenen Strand mit dem vorgelagerten Korallenriff ist eindrucksvoll. Es werden Tauch- und Schnorchelausflüge angeboten sowie Ausflüge rund um die Insel. Wanderungen im Regenwald sind vom Resort aus möglich und Naturliebhaber kommen sicher auf ihre Kosten. Auch ohne WiFi muss es einem nicht langweilig werden.

Wunderbares, kleines Resort

Das Minang Cove Resort ist ein kleines, sehr persönlich geführtes und wunderschön gelegenes Resort mit einem kleinen, feinen Strand, das ideal für Familien mit Kindern ist. Das Personal ist wahnsinnig nett und hilfsbereit, die Kleinteiligkeit der Anlage führt schnell dazu, dass man sich wie zu Hause fühlt...nur eben mit Dschungel hinterm Haus und tropischem Meer vor der Haustür. Das Hausriff ist schön zum Schnorcheln. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen und hier ein paar Tage verbringen um Auszuspannen, Schwimmen und uns hervorragendes Essen schmecken zu lassen!

Resort im Paradies

Wir waren im Oktober 2016 für eine Woche hier. Die Anreise kann ziemlich langatmig sein. Wir sind von Kuala Lumpur angereist und haben uns entschieden mit SAS Air nach Tioman zu fliegen. Mit einer kleinen Maschine (6 Sitzplätze) waren wir in 1 ½ Stunden hier. Wurden vom Sohn des Hauses am Flughafen abgeholt und sind ca. 30 Minuten mit dem Speed Boot weitergefahren. Man wird hier sehr freundlich empfangen. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend. Wenn man sich darauf einstellt das es hier kein Internet gibt, kann es sehr erholsam sein. Eine Woche den tollen Strand genießen, mit den tollen Hausriff vor der Tür, oder zur kleinen vorgelagerten Insel Jahat fahren, dort kann man super schnorcheln bzw. Tauchen. Jeden Abend gibt es nach dem Abendessen eine Fischfütterung (21 Uhr). Wir haben jedes Mal ca. 7 Schwarzspitz Riff Haie gesehen. Am Strand selbst sieht man jeden Tag die kleinen Haie (ca. einen halben Meter), die sehr neugierig sind. Das Frühstück war ausreichend (Obst, Honig und Marmelade), das Abendessen gut bis sehr gut. Alle 8 Tage wiederholt es sich, wer also eine Woche da ist, bekommt immer etwas anderes. Von jeder Villa hat man einen schönen Blick aufs tolle Meer. Wer sich erholen möchte, den kann ich das Minang Cove nur empfehlen.

朝食と夕食が付いているお得なリゾート

お部屋はコテージのような感じでしたが、最低限のものは揃っていたため不便な事はありませんでした。しかし、室内に小さな蛾が結構いるのが気になりました。プライベートはビーチでくつろぎながら本を読んだり、子供は1日中海で遊んだりとリゾートを満喫する事が出来ました。

un petit paradis dans un grand paradis

un séjour de 5 nuits inoubliable... quelques bungalows situés dans une petite baie isolée... La plage est magnifique et on peut faire tranquillement du snorkelling sans bouger. La plage est nettoyée tous les jours, donc aucune mouche de sable. Le bungalow pour 3 personnes était spacieux, confortable avec une jolie salle de bains, une belle terrasse, et une vue à couper le souffle sur la mer. L'acceuil de cet hotel est excellent, du directeur à toute l'équipe. Très acceuillants, chaleureux, les jours passent et nous avons eu l'impression de quitter une petite famille. Ce resort est parfait pour les gens qui ont envie de se retrouver en famille, en couple, bref tranquilles, et de se laisser vivre pendant leur séjour. La demi pension est très bien, petit déjeuner, goûter très apprécié à 16h30, et le buffet du soir à 20h a toujours été très bon, avec souvent des thèmes aux soirées. Ici, pas de wifi et c'est aussi très appréciable, on se coupe réellement du monde dans cette petite baie secrète. Des sorties en bateau sont organisés à des prix corrects. Un petit village de pêcheur sympatique à 30 mn à pied, sur un chemin balisé et magnifique dans la jungle. Evidemment, je conseille, et je reviendrais. Merci à toute l'équipe pour ce séjour inoubliable.

Loved Minang cove

We enjoyed our stay in Minang Cove very much, it is a nice small resort in tropical paradise with the most friendly staff. Our room had very nice balcony overlooking the sea and some trees and you could see monkeys and squirrels walking in your balcony. There is no wifi (which is a good thing, you are on holiday!!!) and not much to do, just relaxing by the beautiful small beach, snorkeling, scuba-diving or hiking in the rainforest... perfect.

Just perfect. We will be back!

Everything was perfect, one thing that was not so good was no internet connectivity but it was a bit nice without for a weekend as well:)

Hotel ligt aan mooiste deel eiland

Mooi resort, aan een prachtige baai, gelegen in het zuiden van Tioman. Dit is het mooiste deel van het eiland. Duikschool is goed. De australische duikinstructeur is ervaren en enthousiast. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk. Boottrip van de ferry naar het hotel is wel prijzig. We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad.

Heerlijk kleinschalig hotel aan het strand

Heerlijk kleinschalig hotel aan azuurblauwe zee. Top hartelijke service en erg lieve mensen die overal behulpzaam bij waren! Zeer welkom gevoeld! Niet alleen de zee was prachtig, maar de jungle en wandelingen die je er kunt maken ook heerlijk! Dorpje Mukut, schattig!
