I have stayed here numerous times and consistently found the staff to be accommodating, helpful, and very service oriented. This is my go to anytime I’m in Fort St. John.

Front desk attendant Lovepreet was very welcoming and happy. Most hotels I travel to are lacking in basic customer service and hospitality. She was great to deal with.

The room was efficient. The carpet in my room looked clean but a previous guest must have been bleeding and there was a bit of blood on the carpet. We enjoyed dining across the highway at Mr Mikes. The hotel's breakfast buffet is good. Friendly check-in staff

Be aware that bathrooms only have stand up showers - no bathtubs. Parking area could be bigger and there is an area close to the parking lot that looks like a mud pile. Otherwise, the rooms are good and have all the amenities found in other hotels. It even has a small kitchenette area.

Room price too high for “micro” design. Otherwise the stay was comfortable.

One negative

The only negative thing I could say is that at least two water bottles of water are not left in the room. To make it worse I was told I had to pay for them. 98% of the time in every hotel I have stayed in always supply bottled water. It’s the least you could do.

It was close to where i wanted to go

They didn’t make up my room during my stay. Maintenance seems to be non existent. Lights burnt out, ax/heating unit bearings going in the fan and noisy Very disappointed never using it again

Rooms were clean and well appointed. The breakfast was sub par, 2 out of the 3 days the breakfast kitchen was not stocked with items. Had to ask for plates, pancake syrup, bacon, ran out of juices etc. Disappointed.

Some mornings there was very little available to eat, no juice and limited condiments etc.

Location of hotel was good. Breakfast was awful at hotel.

There was a loud drilling type noise or hum that vibrated my bed and woke me up almost every 20 min because it was so long. When it was mentioned to the front desk they just said "oh sorry, we will look into that"

Outer front doorway had lots of huge mud chunks. Hallway in lobby and elevators coffe stains not cleaned up during the 3 days I was there breakfast tables not wiped between users. Not impressed.

Great value for the quality of hotel in the Fort St John area. Considerably less cost for the same or better as opposed to the hotels on the other side of the highway. Also Brown's Craft House is very conveniently right there.

The room was sold as a non smoking room. I noticed a faint cigarette smell in the room when I checked in. It was only when I got to bed that I realized that the smoke had saturated the linens which weren't cleaned properly. at midnight I had enough and went to the front desk where they did move me to a new room. My expectations on the cleaning are higher than this for a Microtel.

Great stay

It was amazing. Staff make you feel right at home. Rooms are always clean and tidy. The only hotel that i know of whete you can cast from you phone to watch what you want.

This hotel is conveniently located, fairly clean with staff happy to please. Unfortunately, the 1st room I was in the heating didn't work and the 2nd room the hair dryer didn't work.

Friendly staff and clean premises

Have stayed there many times for work, but starting to feel like it is getting tired. Breakfast options have definitely decreases and often low on items. Rooms are clean. Overall still a great place to stay.

Clean but no one around at the front desk in the morning to check out. People were waiting and then we all just left because no one bothered to come to the desk.

Modern Esthetic hides Thin Veneer

Free breakfast served from 5 am only to 9 am. Compared to most hotels, that timeframe seems early. Late arrival previous night, only ready to eat at 9:30 and it was closed. Good news is that the hotel manager became aware of this, and had kitchen make eggs and sausages on-site for me and my daughter. Very thoughtful- included goodie back as he became aware that we were in town for sports event. The room itself had a whole wall of outlets that did not work - dead fridge and laptop would not charge. Asked front desk to follow up and never did hear back. Busy schedule so took matters into my own - moved fridge to another wall and extended laptop charger - slightly annoying. Walls in this hotel are thin, so it feels like you're at home and can hear people walking above you, showers and toilets running like they're beside you. If you're a light sleeper, this could ruin your night. The duvet covers were super light- good for summer I suppose, but winter months demand at least a slightly weightier item. The esthetics of this newer hotel are very modern, including proper shelving hidden behind sliding bathroom mirror- a real space saver. The rain style shower head was adequate, but felt like the experience was intended to save water (we all want to accomplish more eco-friendly goals, but I shouldn't be aware of the hotel's goals for water in the middle of my morning shower). I certainly would consider staying here again especially if certain items are addressed.

The beds/mattresses need to be updated. Second time I e stayed for 4 - 5 days and each room I’ve been in the mattress was terrible sloping towards the middle.

Soben provided absolute above and beyond customer service for our family. He rushed getting breakfast ready because we tried to get on the road early for the long drive. Clean room and convenient parking with long trailer was really appreciated as well.

The property including the room is clean and nice. My room temperature at check in was 13 degrees, I didn't appreciate that.

Overall the stay was good. Having not travelled since the beginning of Covid I wasn’t aware hotel staff did not come into the room to clean, check for towels, make bed, etc. and there was absolutely no mention of no housekeeping when I checked in. I wasn’t made aware to contact the front desk for clean towels, garbage removal, etc. There was rarely anyone at the front desk and I always ended up having to wait for someone.

I arrived towards the end of of the breakfast time, and there was no batter for the pancakes. Other than that, I have no complaints - the staff were very helpful (I required their help ordering a taxi two mornings, and both times it arrived promptly), the room was clean and spacious, and the nearby restaurant was quite nice (for takeout - I did not eat in so I can't comment on the sit-down meal service there).

Great comfortable hotel if you are doing business. Great brewery right beside.

Worst experience EVER!

This is by far the worst experience I have with the the hotel and Hotels.com. I checked out one night early confirming with hotels.com and the hotel that i will be refunded and not charged for the night I stayed. Its been 2 weeks of back and forth phone calls between the hotel and hotels.com. Worst experience ever. I have completed over 30 bookings using the hotels.com app but this experience is definitely going to loose my business. Microtel Fort st john staff is the worst to deal with. There is no clear directiom from the management either.

The bed was extremely comfortable, coffee machine and individual wrapped cups were noted, which is important. Unfortunately when I went to pick up some change that fell out of my pants, I saw that there was a lot of old food and debris underneath the little couch, which was not good. I’d still stay here again, though.

Hotel room was clean, but the bathroom had an odour of sewage. This smell would come and go throughout the stay. I also found that the walls are paper thin. You can easily hear someone having a conversation in the next room.

Front Desk Staff Amazing

Not too bad. Checked in was a breeze. And friendly. Got to my small room fridge was leaking and not working, reported it as I didn’t want to be charge, girl at the front desk was so kind she moved me and upgraded me. Very nice people, wish I knew her name.

I have stayed there many times and the place still looks like new 6 years later. Had to be careful on the parking lots as there was plenty of ice. There was some sand on it though. If I had to have a complaint it would be the dried up breakfast potatoes that were hard. But I’ll be back!!!!

Nice clean modern

My stay was a general overnight stay for a business trip. I was supposed to have free wifi upon checking in, but it was never offered to me. Thankfully I did not require it for just an overnight stay. Other than that, I got checked in and out very quickly, and the room was clean.

Hitel 8s comfortable and clean. Beds are comfortable. Unfortunatley the service at front desk is not good. Have to wait at front desk no body available and they were rude to me upon arrival.
