Beautiful the position and the hotel, especially the rooms with windows on the square, but we couldn't have a shower because there wasn't hot water.
Nice staff close to Independence square
Clean hotel with excellent staff, wood floors so you can hear a lot of noise from inside and side room.Noise from outside so ask for rooms without windows. Not the best area cause a street market just 1 block from there but for the price it is perfect.Breakfast done with love.
The room was dirty: floor, toilet. The shower head broken. The taxi driver suggested not to walk around after dark. Stuff doesn’t speak English. Looks like a rundown place that could be much nicer.
Beware
I wanted to like this hotel but my experience here was so bad that I had to leave after just night. The rooms smelled liked blocked drains, there was mold growing on the bathroom walls, and the windows of my room overlooked a bus depot so the street noise was terrible. My friend was staying in a different room and hers smelled like a combination of blocked drains and caustic cleaning solutions. The area around the hotel also did not seem safe, even during the day. Beware of staying here if you are sensitive to strong odors, loud noises throughout the night, and/or are allergic to mold.
Centrico si quieres recorrer el.centro histórico de la ciudad, estaciones centrales muy cercas, solo como en todo país debes de estar pendiente de tu seguridad... Sugerencia: incentivar a el reciclaje...
Cozy hotel
Eduardo and Jocelyn made my stay perfect. Jocelyn makes a delicious breakfast every morning. The rooms are well kept. Eduardo had good suggestions on where to visit.
Best quality-price of Quito
For the price ,probably the best you can get. I went in room from hostal to 4 star in Quito, and its already my second time at Mia. Room are big enough( for the price) and clean. All the staff are friendly and willing to help you the best they can. The breakfast is good too, fresh fruits ,fresh juice, scrambled eggs ( something with ham in it!) and plate of 'bread' i put quote marks cause it change each morning, bread and cheese, grilledcheese and ham bread, plain bread with butter....Location is good , walkable distant of plaza grande,1- 2 min walks of iglesia st-augustin.
Muy limpia y ordenada, muy seguro y con ese toque antiguo muy encantador.
Old Town Gem
The Mia Leticia is a little gem in Old Town Quito. The price is amazing, and it evokes a past era with its' beauty and charm. I had heard that Quito could be dangerous, but I always felt safe and secure there. If you are expecting the typical Marriott experience, this is probably not your place. But if you wish a gracious and friendly stay that totally will get you in the Ecuador mood, this is the place.
Hotels.com screwed-up
After getting multiple confirmation emails from Hotels.com, finding the hotel in the dark, getting stopped and forced to pay the local police $40 for a phony traffic infraction, it turns out the the Mia Leticia was closed due to COVID and apparently had been closed at the time of our booking through Hotels.com. Not happy...
Very good location. Very nice owner/helper a. Strongly recommended for visitors liked to stay in the old town.
Mia Leticia is a charming and beautiful hotel that is walking distance to the historic part of Quito. The staff there were very gracious and helpful. It is a very old building in a busy part of town. There are quirks in that come with that. I would definitely stay there again.
Quaintness near wonderful sites
As photos suggest, they are accurate and hotel quaint and pretty inside. Aspects of age so charming and refreshing to see from cookie cutter Holiday Inns etc. Charming staff. Outside the doors tiny square and bus stop seems to attract a rather eclectic group that can sometimes be bit rowdy and leave bit of a mess, but no serious threat, just keep a sharp eye open.
Great location, very friendly and helpfull staff, room was clean but bed could use new pillows.
Wonderful old world charm. Wood floors and French doors to a tiny balcony overlooking a cute square witba water fountain. If you love waking up to the city sounds then stay in a balcony room. If you want it to be quiet then stay in one of the back rooms. Breakfast was nice and made right there. Coffe was really good. The staff were also very kind and helpful. Amazing value for the money!!! We walked under the freeway to community hostel and booked some great day adventures. Loved the old city!
Quito Adventure
Overall, ideal for exploring the old quarter. Only negatives were the creeky floorboards and the traffic noise. Very friendly staff and helpful. Breakfasts also good.
Great location and staff
The staff here were all great. Very helpful. Especially the lady from Venezuela who also has particularly excellent English. The hotel gives you great access to the old town. It’s pretty and ticks all the boxes.
Good from the pictures, but not as expected
The hostel is quite small and old; first, we had the rooms which face the street; it was very noisy with the sound of merchants and cars running; so we had to switch the inner rooms. When booking with Travelocity, the prices were first showed only $36.00 per room; but, after taxes and other services, somehow, the room fee was increased to $75.00 per room. Make sure to check the final price of your itinerary. We also had problem with the room door locks; the locks are very old; it took many minutes to shake, to switch back/forth to open it.
Wonderful hotel, but a bit noisy.
Mia Leticia was wonderful in many ways. A slightly-varied breakfast included each morning and a friendly, upbeat, helpful staff. Beautiful, centrally-located hotel with clean rooms. The only negative is noise. There is a bus depot across the street, which is convenient if you want to take the bus, but it also means lots of pedestrians and people selling goods just outside the hotel. Inside the hotel, the rooms all surround an open central area. Sounds echo, and you hear people walking on the hallways' wooden floors. The doorbell rings for all to hear when guests return to the hotel's front door anytime after dark, and when we had to ring the staff for our 4:00 AM checkout (early flight). If you are a heavy sleeper or willing to wear earplugs, this is a really great hotel!
Left stranded
The hotel agreed to pick me and four year old daughter up from airport and left us stranded at midnight. I had to pay for cab to take us and was robbed. The staff themselves we're very nice. It may be because they knew they messed us. I feel they should have offered a discount or at least pay for cab I took to make up for it, but nope.
Loved Mia Leticia
I loved staying in Mia Leticia ,property is wonderful old colonial ,Room are really large and over all property is super charming.Location is really central and 5 minutes walk is between you and the best rooftop bar in quito “ vista hermosa “ .I really liked breakfast in the morning but what makes this place really great is their always smiling staff .I would most definately stay again in this property
It was close to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Friendly and helpful staff, no hot water at basin, only in the shower
Comfortable, suprisingly quiet hotel in the bustling Old City section of Quito.
Not very safe close to a homeles area.
Not very happy about. First and the last one . Very unfrendly staff. Hope they improve.
Great location and helpful staff
This is a great place to experience Old Town in Quito. The staff was very helpful.
5☆ staff
Historic, funky, cumfy. Lots to do close by. Their English speaking staff are over the top helpful. Alex helped sort out a cell phone chip problem. Johnnie helped with eats and travel connections. Very friendly.
Great Location for Buses to Cloud Forests
People great! Location in front of bus station to Ofelia Station convenient! Need new shower head & warmer water.
Great hostel in Old Town Quito
Perfect location. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts (Marian has directions to multiple destinations she can print out for you and excellent recommendations). Very clean and safe. We are returning there for the night before we fly out.
Great value option
Great value hotel with large clean rooms and very friendly staff. Only quibble would be the wifi is poor but that seems to be common throughout the city.
Good central hotel for a visit to Quito.
Very helpful staff, and a nice building. Located right in the historic center, good place to stay. Good breakfast too. Overall we'd stay here again, but two areas for improvement: the water in the shower was warm for only about one minute and then freezing, and the beds were more decorative than comfortable (hard mattresses, textile quilts, shaky/squeaky bedframe).
Pretty nice hotel in a convenient place
The hotel is more than I expected. The staff are excellent, very helpful and always with smiles on their faces. Free breakfast is sumptuous and taste good. The room is super clean and supplies of new towels are available everyday. I will definitely stay in this hotel again. I will recommend it to my friends, co - workers and family.
This is a solid choice full of character, and with some awesome people working there. The reasons that I didn't give it 5 stars were that the internet is woefully (and frustratingly) intermittent, and you can't access the property with your key. That is, you need to ring the doorbell and wait for someone to grant you access. There are security reasons to this, but that is small comfort as you are standing on the street, worrying about your own security. But, don't let that put you off. The building is full of character, and as I mentioned, the staff are awesome.
Location of hotel is not safe for families
Alba was a great host. She took great care of us. The location of the hotel was not safe for families, although it was convenient to the old town. It may be a great Hostel for singles or couples, but not ideal for families. The Internet service was lacking and the beds were not comfortable, with pillows as hard as wood.
Great hotel centrally located for base camp
The hotel is in the old town on a corner with a bus stop (local) and two blocks away from the main transportation hubs. Lots of small, local, eateries. Walking distance to most every place you want to go. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast consists of eggs, fruit, toast, coffee, milk, juice. It's in an old colonial building, which is part of its charm. Do not expect American style hotel. 4 bed room had a balcony which is great for people watching. It is a city and as we faced the road, there was typical city street noise. They'll do your laundry 12 pieces for $3 USD.
Decent hostel centrally located in Old Town
Pleasant accommodations that were very safe and clean with free breakfast each morning and a safety deposit box in the room. But, there are no other amenities. Basic services otherwise (e.g. bring your own shampoo!) Front desk workers were fine especially Elba who had a great personality and whose English was very good!
Convenient to historical centre, but is a hostel
This is more of a hostel than a hotel; just make sure your expectations are in check. Very helpful staff. But room configuration is that the windows face into central internal area, and no other air source, so keeping windows open means lots of noise. Good location with respect to historical centre, and cheap eats around. Outside the hostel is a little chaotic, being near a major transport hub, but the staff escorted me to and from my taxis to make sure everything was good. Free bottled water was a really nice touch.
Great hotel for the price. Service was excellent. Area outside the hotel is a bit sketchy, especially at night.
Nice staff, free wifi...sometimes slow. Central area to bus station and markets.
Be careful of local pickpockets
This is my second stay at Mia Leticia. As with the first visit, the staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel has a lot of colonial charm. I did have a bad experience outside the hotel when a team of thieves harassed me and stole my iPhone while I was walking to a restaurant. So caution is necessary in the area.
Colonial charm
This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. I wanted something close to El Centro Historico and this looked like a good option. It exceeded my expectations. The place is loaded with colonial charm. It's just a short walk from the Grand Plaza. I'm staying there again on my return from the jungle.
Mia Leticia is in the perfect location!
I loved my stay at the Mia Leticia. The location and the staff were the best! If you are looking for top-notch luxury, this may not be the place for you. If you are looking for a comfortable, charming, well-situated hostel, this is a fantastic option! The only minor complaint is that you can hear the noise from the street if you have a window that faces the street. I would imagine you would have that almost anywhere you stayed however. I would definitely stay here again!!
Close to Plaza Grande in old town.
Also close to the Marin bus station which is good for 25 cent trips north of old town but beware of pickpockets.
Conveniently located, attractive, hospitable staff
Very good value, with outstanding staff who do everything possible to assist their guests; located with excellent access to buses, taxis etc and within easy walking distance of the historic centre of Quito; a colonial buiding with lots of charm; well-serviced, spacious rooms. Recommend highly!
Great hotel!
This hotel was everything we needed for our stay. It was right in the historic center, the staff was great, really nice breakfast every morning, and CLEAN!
PERFECT OLD CITY BUDGET STAY
Sitting in the Centro Historico, the Old City of Quito this good sized hostal is in a very small plaza. Inside it has a pretty Spanish colonial inner courtyard. The room was cosy old fashioned with creaky wooden floorboards and in my case a full length window opened out onto a view of the tiny square. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom functional with a very hot shower. TV and free wifi but no A/C. This was a budget room after all. Great nights sleep. Nice staff and good location, right opposite Marin bus station for a very cheap trip to the Middle of the Earth attraction on the Equator. 5 minutes walk from the main Plaza. Only $4 to Plaza Foch. Loved my stay and the price.
Perfect location and very safe
Monica, Carlos were very helpful and attentive and recommend were to go and super nice. The night shift guy was very nice and helpful.
Know what you are getting
Very run down hotel in a sketchy area. There is a reason why the rates are so cheap. However the people who work there are great. Very friendly and helpful.
Old colonial accommodations with personal charm
Very gracious hotel personnel that go out of their way to ensure a pleasurable stay. It is very well located in the old city area of Quito with easy access by walking to many historic sites. The immediate neighborhood is not upscale and may appear intimidating to those not baptized into inner city urban cultures (I personally had little problem with the surroundings). However, the staff ensure safety keeping mindful watch over the secure doorways that require an individual to buzz in at any hour. The staff are never put off by this added security.

Loved our stay and would come back if was in Quito again! Thank you for the hospitality
