has the potential to be quite decent

in the right hands this place could be special but right now it feels like an upmarket B&B, it basicly closes after 8pm.

Excellent hotel, great location and very friendly staff. Overall great experience, the only thing we struggled with was the kitchen’a loud music. Given that our room was just next to the kitchen their loud music was a bit uncomfortable while in the room, but other than that we had no issues.

Mestizo will not disappoint, from the friendly staff, amazing restaurant and proximity to everything in Antigua, Mestizo will far exceed expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers.

I felt the property was safe and quiet. Cristofer communicated with me very well prior to my arrival. My room had a musty, unpleasant smell, but other than that my stay at Mestizo was nice. The food here was delicious!

We had an outstanding experience, largely thanks to the incredible staff. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The front desk team went above and beyond to ensure my check-in process was smooth, providing helpful recommendations for local attractions.

Beautiful hotel! The staff were kind, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. Cristofer was helpful from the start of booking this hotel until the end by ensuring we had what we needed. The breakfast options were great, and I looked forward to having the coffee every morning. I would definitely stay here again.

Christopher and the staff were amazing. They met all of our needs. The hotel is beautiful and so clean. We had the best massages from the spa, the girls were so professional. We had champagne waiting on arrival. We will definitely be coming back to stay here.

The hotel is located just one block from the main plaza and maybe a quarter mile from the mercado central. The arco is walking distance and it’s easy to find a tuk tuk to the mirador. Staff is very nice. Many staff members speak english and the ones who do not are more than helpful. The hotel was clean and they provide and AC unit in the hotter times. Overall would recommend.

It was good enough for 1 night stay before my volcano excursion

In our trip to Guatemala our first stop was Antigua. It was our first time staying here. We loved our stayed. The room was small, but cozy. My husband loved the hand bidet next to our toilet. The entire hotel is just beautiful all around. Our breakfast included with out stay was delicious 😋 We highly recommend it.

Mestizo Antigua is a beautiful property located close to everything and the staff are amazing. Only thing that would have made it better is if the restaurant/bar was open later than 5pm. They have a beautiful roof terrace and it would have been great to enjoy drinks/dinner on the rooftop after our daily adventures.

The hotel staff was kind, they made us feel like we were home❤️ front desk staff gave us a tour of the hotel and he exported us to the best restaurant,la mejor de lo nuestro “ love the entire team❤️❤️I highly recommend 👌

Only had one night here - beds were super comfortable and staff friendly. If I get the chance to come back to Antigua I would stay here again.

This is a beautiful property! The bed was very comfortable, and the A/C cold. The massages at the connected spa were amazing, too! This is very close to the park and close to so many wonderful restaurants.

Very guest forward experience. Luis the GM was very friendly and helpful. Great food and great atmosphere. I would highly recommend staying here. Cristopher the front desk attendant was professional and extremely helpful.

This place is just as pictured! It’s a wonderful location to explore Antigua and the staff is so helpful. Cristofer helped us arrange transportation from Panajachel, transportation to the airport and helped book a massage with a trusted nearby company. Would definitely stay here again!

The room was very clean, the service excellent, the breakfast was delicious. The owners, Luis and his spouse were excellent hosts and referred us to local activities.

Was amazing! The people that work in the hotel are so nice and answer all of your questions and even help you with your options and ideas of things to do during your stay. I loveeee it!

We loved staying at this boutique hotel. It's unique and quaint. We got to chat with the staff and felt safe, they would close the doors at night for added security. Jorge the night recepcionist was cordial and professional. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms were lovely. The bathroom was too small and the shower liner was cheap and not long enough. Nonetheless, this is the most gorgeous space there is, staying here felt like a luxurious dream. The TV had youtube, netflix, plenty of things to watch. There was a specific lovely smell to the hotel. The beds were comfortable and super soft and gentle, each room had it's own A/C. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.

I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Mestizo, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. One of our tours was cancelled without prior notice and they stepped in by helping to arrange another private tour. The hotel is clean and the dining is great too. The location is central and very safe. I highly recommend this hotel!

I enjoyed my week's stay at the Mestizo. Before my arrival, Cristofer contacted me via "Whatsapp" and asked if I needed anything prior to my arrival, including transportation from the airport. He kept in contact even after check-in and throughout the week. He was very attentive and helpful. Breakfast every morning was the highlight of the day. The dishes were delicious and plentiful. Evelin served us most of the mornings and was so diligent in keeping our coffee cups full and ensuring optimal service. The hotel is situated amongst great restaurants and shopping. It has a lovely rooftop where you can sit and drink a cocktail while enjoying the view of the volcano. Some things to note is that street parking is hard to come by if you are not used to city parking, but I had no problem finding a space near the hotel. Overall, the Mestiza experience was more than was expected and the hospitality and warmth of the staff was a very nice experience.

We loved our stay at Mestizo Antigua! From the prime location 1 block away from central park, the welcome drink, to the ambiance of the whole place we loved it all! They were super accommodating and let us check in early! Staff very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend

Upon checkin the room was not as advertised and so with the assistance of an Expedia chat, the manager said we could forgo our stay and be refunded. When we went to the front desk, Margerita, the manager refused to see us and the desk clerk would not issue the refund. We left anyway and got a room at another hotel. I had to dispute the charge with our credit card company. It was an awful day as neither the hotel nor Expedia would follow thru with what they offered and we had to worry for days about whether or not we would be stuck with a big charge .

Overall, our experience at Mestizo was wonderful. We had a great time, and the breakfast was excellent.

The service at the Mestizo Hotel was outstanding, the staff incredibly kind, attentive and overly hospitable. They even had breakfast ready for us at departure, very early by 6am. The property is gorgeous, it's such a beautiful hotel. The security/surveillance was very appreciated, the gate/door is locked at night for safety, and all you have to do is knock to be let in. The free breakfast was 10/10, delicious and plenty of options to choose from. The lattes were phenomenal, and the barista even walked me through their coffee process. We really enjoyed our stay, and the location was optimal, walking distance to super hip coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. There were also a lot of bars and lounges very close but the rooms were very quiet. The free welcome drink was absolutely gorgeous, I don't drink alcohol so I had the mock tail version and it was delicious. This is the place to stay in Antigua. We will be returning to the Mestizo! Thank you staff for being so kind, wonderful and make our stay exceptional.

Charming colonial boutique hotel.

Charming colonial style boutique hotel right in the centre of town. The property is an old Spanish style house that has been fully renovated, yet maintained its colonial charm. From the moment you step in you will be transported to your room in a maze of historic wonder. Every corner holds an elegant touch of the past. The rooms are ample, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The beds and firm and comfortable with inviting cotton bedding. The stay included breakfast which was a generous portion of your favourite breakfast staples. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I alright know where I will be coming back to on my next trip.

Very warmth and welcoming hotel very close to downtown Antigua with great service.

Only here for one night but everything was as promised! Clean, safe and centrally located! The staff were amazing and the breakfast was very fresh and tasty ! Having any option from the menu was amazing compared to anywhere else we had stayed in our trip! Definitely recommend

Hotel was awesome! The only down side was although we had a sign on the door that we did not need any cleaning, they still came in and cleaned the bathroom when we were not there and that’s concerning.

I cannot say enough positive for things about El Mestizo. If this hotel is in your price point, don’t waste time looking any further. Book now! Staff: We had a problem with a missing piece luggage at drop off. The concierge, Emilio, promptly assisted us and sorted everything out. He was exceptionally helpful and went above & beyond. With Emilio’s help, the transportation company located our missing bag. English/Spanish: the concierge on duty and manager Luis are bilingual. If your Spanish is limited, you’ll be fine. Food: I booked this hotel based on location to the center plaza AND a previous review of the food. My son & I spent four nights here and sampled all but one of the free breakfast offerings on the menu. If you are a foodie, you will appreciate the work of the hotel’s chef. The offerings were both traditional and creative. They do have menus in English if you need one. I did eat one evening meal there. ¡Qué Rico! Definitely book at least one dinner in-house. Accommodations: clean & comfortable. Ambiance: El Mestizo has a super cool vibe. They have blended distinct architecture with a few modern twists. Conclusion: book your room at El Mestizo, you won’t be disappointed.

Mestizo is a very charming property . It’s perfectly located to city center , restaurants , travel agencies and landmarks . The staff are very helpful and nice not mention the room is comfortable . Theirs rooftop has great view of the volcanoes, great for relaxation . I will definitely stay at Mestizo Hotel Angitua again .

Our stay was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, modern mixed with tradition. Very welcoming staff. Especially Brian who went out of his way to help us throughout our stay. It’s a very walkable part of town with good tours around.

I needed to change my reservation last minute due to airline issues and the hotel was very kind to work with me and find a solution. Parking is not in the same location, but it is a short walk from the hotel.

Beautiful and hip stay

We loved our stay at Mestizo! The staff was so kind and helpful (offered recommendations on where to eat and things to do). The bartender made us the most amazing drinks and the kitchen was happy to accommodate vegan diets at the complimentary breakfast. Very comfortable beds and clean rooms! Highly recommend and will stay again!

We had a wonderful time! Clean place, good food, formidable staff! Kudos to Fernando for his food and beverages suggestions! Very knowledgeable and a nice person in general. We highly recommend this place!
