A conveniently located hotel. Helpful staff.
Did not like the noise at night from the street traffic other than that everything was ok
Really enjoyed the property. However, air conditioning in room didn’t seem to work so was hot at night. Roof top views were great, no chairs set up at this time for casual time. Would be great to have had that.
Love it !!
The
I liked the clean rooms.
Great location
Good location, walking distance to Pantheon/Trevi fountain. Part of the reason I booked the hotel was the swimming pool, but this is closed until April, this is not mentioned on the website. (apologies if it is but it is not clear) Very disappointing. No crockery cups available in room for tea/coffee, only paper cups which are too hot to hold so need 2 or 3 per drink, very wasteful. Tea/coffee/creamer? Not refilled. Had to ask every day. Nice that 2 bottles of water left in room each day. To be more eco friendly, could you ask people to leave towels on hook if they don't need replacing every day? Room layout was poor and cramped, tiny porthole style window with view of colosseum is not worth the extra money. Rooms are noisy-we could hear everything next door. Poor breakfast options, minimal variation, no variation of hot breakfast - scrambled egg/Frankfurts/bacon only.
Top location
Great location near to the Colosseum and trams straight into central Rome. Clean, modern rooms and facilities. Staff very friendly
This is our favourite hotel in Rome. It is right by the coliseum. Staff are great. We always enjoy their marvellous breakfast. We will be back in 2 weeks
Bathroom was so dirty they didn’t clean toilet
Good rooms overlooking the Coliseum. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
Rooms small but fantastic location right close to the Colesseum and metro
Good
Very friendly and helpful service. Room a bit small and dark but otherwise comfortable.
Amazing property with one of the best rooftop views of Rome and its coliseum. Everything was within walking distance and the room was lovely and very quiet at night. Will definitely be returning!
love Roma !!
slightly above average stay . Location of the hotel was excellent as it was walking distance to colosseum , metro and to many restaurants. but the hotel itself did not have anything special to offer . Rooms are average and Bathroom was small and not designed well. Breakfast was very good .. The frond desk initially allocated me a room on the ground floor , facing a service entrance with ugly sight , on my request it was changed .. so pls keep in mind ask for a good room . overall our stay was very good in Rome , enjoyed every bit of it .
A good location for visiting Rome.
They provided water daily. Very friendly staff
We loved how close it was to the colosseum, view was great from the rooftop and from the room. We appreciated the early check in and help with transportation booking. The room itself felt like it could have been more clean for floors and windows.. great view but lots of smudges dirty windows. Not much for toiletries in terms of lotion or bar soap but did have body gel/soap. Kinda felt like a very large hotel without a warm feeling upon checking in or around hotel. The staff at the roof restaurant were kind and helpful, they offer room service. Food was okay. We stayed here for the location of the colosseum and glad we did. Can’t beat the location for that. If you want more warm smaller hospitality.. Maybe stay at a smaller hotel. Good for what we needed.
We loved our stay at this hotel. Having a pool during really hot days was such a nice treat. The view of the colosseum from the pool was unreal! Our room was very nice, the breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect for walking around the touristy areas of Rome. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.
This is a great, clean and safe location in the proximity of the colosseum. The pool is very shallow and the water is cold. The room was clean and tidy. A bit on the small side. There is a nearby metro station, and a bus station right in front of the hotel. There are coffee shops and some grocery stores around. The food was good at the rooftop terrace.
It's got a pool
The hotel was okay, but considering how expensive it was, I was very disappointed. The room was tiny with a narrow slit for a window, which made it very dark (even with the lights on). There was no milk, not even powdered, with the tea making facilities. The cups were brown paper. There were no drawers or shelves for clothes, just 5 coat hangers in the wardrobe. There were no glasses in the bathroom, just brown paper cups, no bar of soap, no hair conditioner, no shower cap and in the shower, no separate shampoo dispenser. One day, housekeeping had not made one of the beds; another day, the used paper cups were removed but not replaced and one hand towel was removed but not replaced. I know these are all minor things, but for the price I expected better. We chose this hotel because we wanted a pool and there is a pool. Unfortunately, you cannot spend much time by the pool because there is absolutely no shade-not an umbrella, nor an awning. In August, it was only possible to swim after 7pm if you didn't want to burn. The pool is okay but very shallow. The view is stunning! The location is excellent.
Save your money
While in line with most mid-tier hotels, the bathroom is embarrassingly tiny, the bed was harder to sleep on than the floor, and the abrupt wakeups were unacceptable. With the late checkout time of noon, I had planned to sleep in. The cleaning staff knocked and were told no thank you around 0900, the subsequent 3 knocks before checkout time were completely unnecessary and ridiculous.
The rooms were extremely small and dingy. This hotel needs a update.
Great spot close to colosseum
Very good... Always clean... very friendly staff.. very good breakfast..
Excellent, friendly staff the location was perfect
An average hotel which heavily markets its closeness to the Colloseum. The view from the Sun terrace has a great view of the Colloseum at night so this is on all the pictures on the website. We had 2 rooms. One room was very small and view not good. Other room adequate. Breakfast at 17 Euros each over priced and basic. The best feature is its closeness to the Colloseum and notable landmarks. Hotel takes a deposit of 300 euros at check in which was not explained. A week later still to refund this. Was promised on checkout 2-3 days. There are much better hotels out there for the price. Not quite sure why it gets a 4 star rating? If you want to see the Colloseum every night then perfect. A little disappointed by hotel.
Great location! Staff is considerate and welcoming. The pool is a total win for hot days. And the rooftop bar is perfect for a relaxing drink or meal. As expected, menu not extensive but tasty. Rooms with colosseum view are tiny but clean. Larger rooms come without a view, but imo, are worthwhile even at cost of view (we had one of each). I liked how quiet the ac was. The front/reception desk can order taxi’s for you and they usually come within minutes. If it’s more than four riding, make sure to let them know when ordering. Our experience was that balconies here are actually closed off and thus unavailable- this didn’t make a difference to us tho and only noting for those for whom it matters. Biggest pros -Location and pool. No real cons. Ok one- the buffet has the worst scrambled eggs- but purely my opinion😁 just really runny. Otherwise buffet is decent. I do wish they had shade options poolside-just a suggestion as the temps here reached 100 more than once!😅 Tho didn’t impact our wonderful stay. A nice and cozy find!
The pool and view are amazing!
The room was great, although small, it’s cute. The pool is small and crowded but the view of the colosseum makes up for it. What made it a 3 star for us was the staff. Our waitress at the pool bar restaurant did not know how to open a bottle of wine. We had to show her how!! IN ITALY!! The food was not great but the location of this hotel is amazing!
The rooftop view was great here. The pool was nice after a hot day, although is not large. The rooms were nice size and clean, especially for the cost. Breakfast had many options. Convenient location to sites and train Station
Rooftop pool is small, but perfect for cooling off after a day of walking around in the sun.
It was very comfortable place to stay. Excellent staff. I enjoyed the rooftop pool.
I was profiled today after coming back from a long day at the museum, colosseum, and Roman forum and went to the small room before you get to the elevator, took a pic of the statue. A blonde haired woman from behind the main desk sent one of her little minions to ask subtlety ask if we belong here I said I stay here and showed him my card and he walked away without saying he’s sorry
Location is great everything else average
Room wasn’t cleaned or replenished until we asked The carpet on the floor next to the bed was soaking wet Pillows were awful Mattress topper was a duvet Needed to ask for loo rolls Room wasn’t ready Only one key per room
Fabulous
Great hotel in Rome, close to the colosseum and the rooftop pool was wonderful on such hot days. Great to come back for a swim and a drink. Would definitely recommend.
Very nice place near the colleseum. The staff upgraded my room so I had a perfect view of it. I also loved the roof top lounge and pool. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Location, location, location!! Just down the street from the Colosseum and public transportation. Lots of restaurants with walking distance. Rooftop bar and pool were a life saver during the summer heat after a day of tours. Rooms are small but clean. Beds are hard. Limited room amenities. Small bathroom. Adequate for inner city Rome. .
Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel when in Rome.. view of colosseum, priceless.
Pool was so refreshing on hot days. Great location. Great breakfast and rooftop restaurant.
Great to have a pool in summer, shame there was no shaded area around the pool though. Great location for the Colosseum and really nice helpful staff.
very nice hotel
Small room. A/C not the best. Good view. Over priced
We won’t three nights here during a recent trip to Rome. While the hotel is conveniently located just two blocks from the Colosseum, we experienced issues with the A/C in our room for the duration of the stay. Beginning shortly after check-in, we observed the A/C was constantly running, but no air was blowing out of the vent. Upon contacting the front desk, someone came up to “reset” the unit and told us it was now working. Within minutes of them leaving, we noticed there was still not air blowing out. We again called later that evening and were once again told it had been fixed. When we returned from dinner, we again observed the same issues. This happened twice more on Day 2, and the A/C was ultimately never fixed. We got little sleep during our stay as the temperatures in Rome were at or near 100, and our room was quite uncomfortably hot. Assuming this was just a one-off issue with our room, the property itself is fine. But I would not recommend taking the risk on inadequate A/C if you’re coming in the summer months. There is no guarantee of a satisfactory resolution.
Excellent location, 2 min walk from Colosseum. They did not have 2 queen room so had to book 2 rooms for a family of 2 adults and kids. Excellent restaurant for breakfast, was a little crowded at 8am. Rooftop pool is nice with Colosseum view. Also has a rooftop bar which has nice drinks by the pool, and doubles up as a hangout place in the evening. Rooms were a little small but adequate with a nice modern bathroom.
The ground floor rooms are too small, I requested a change and was indeed accommodated by Giancarlo who gave great customer service to the 5th floor 523(extremely spacious) HOWEVER the showers are extremely dirty with the grout in the tiles being filled with black stuff that can be cleaned with proper cleaning detergents. Walk with a HDMI cord the tv is only Italian stations and outdated. The staff is not friendly or welcoming having passed them many times going in and out with not even a hello or how is everything. The showers are a safety risk for ALL, imagine they have a string to pull in case you slip and fall and believe me your chances are extremely high.
We had trouble understanding the staff. The room was very warm
Nice place to stay around the colosseum. Breakfast spread was okay but the service was excellent. Pool area was okay but always crowded, get there early to get a lounge chair. Overall a okay stay, can’t beat the location next to the colosseum
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. My stay didn’t start off pleasantly, as the first room I was assigned was far too small and felt quite cramped and the AC didn’t work—almost like a prison cell, which was certainly not what I had expected. However, the staff were very accommodating, and I have to commend the floor manager for swiftly relocating me to a much more comfortable, spacious room that truly made me feel at home. This positive turnaround has definitely ensured that I will be returning to this hotel in the future, the CARE and understanding was very important to me. Additionally, the rooftop pool was a fantastic feature, especially in the hot weather, providing a perfect spot to relax and enjoy my stay.
Great location, helpful staff, good breakfast, nice terrace with ok prices, pleasant pool very much appreciated for a quick cool down. All contributed towards a lovely 4 night city break.
Great place to stay all around. Location, location, lication
Friendly enough staff but room was a prison. No fresh air no windows that open to outside all glassed in. Pool on roof is ok but closes at 8pm. Roof top bar is nice but staff sort of unfriendly at times. (Perhaps just most Italians towards Americans?) Breakfast was reasonable and good food but it was stressed to us it was NOT included. Strange. If you have claustrophobia…pass on this hotel.
Great views, fantastic staff, right in the middle of historical Rome. Highly recommend
Gorgeous view, otherwise okay
We booked the hotel because of the rooftop pool and bar. From that perspective, it was lovely. There aren't many sun loungers or seats by the pool, but the space is nice and the view of the Colosseum is incredible. The staff is also lovely. The room was less impressive. The windows that give you a view of the Colosseum are up high, so the view isn't great. And the bathroom door handles are fairly sharp considering how springloaded the door is. The hotel provides only a single wall-mounted bottle of 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash (no conditioner and the shampoo/body wash is fairly harsh), so I'd recommend bringing your own toiletries. The carpet was a bit dirty, so I'd also recommend slippers. Last, I would not add on the breakfast. For the price, you can get a much better coffee and some pastries nearby in a less chaotic setting. Overall, it's a perfectly fine hotel, but unless you're going to use the pool and spend time enjoying the view, I might try elsewhere.
Loved my stay here. Staff were friendly and super flexible with check in and check out times. The pool was really nice and refreshing on a hot day. Drinks at the bar were great and bed linens were clean. Not the most modern of accommodations but it was still a great stay.
Great location. Our double room was tiny but clean. Breakfast was fairly basic but nice. Pool was fantastic.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, Great location for the Colosseum , The breakfast need to improve.
Great pool and views from the roof top
Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location overlooking the Colosseum. Staff are all friendly and very helpful
Great location close to Colloseum. Comfortable rooms with good facilities. Friendly, helpful staff.
small room but functional. liked that the bathroom had a bit of actual counter space.
The proximity to the ancient ruins is top notch and walking distance to good restaurants was great too.
Great location
Great hotel in perfect location close to restaurants and bars . Nice room with colosseum view , good selection for breakfast . Beautiful weather such a shame the room tariffs rate is classed as high season but the roof terrace/pool area was not open ! Would have been great just to sit up there in the sun after a busy day sightseeing.
Great location
Perfect location for the Rome attractions particularly the colosseum
I wish we had been able to use the AC since we couldn’t open any windows.
It’s an ideal location to a couple of landmarks. Not terribly far from the subway to go where the major shopping is.
2 blocks from the Coliseum, friendly staff. Clean facilities, nice rooftop.
Great location!
The staff were very friendly and keen to help on any queries we had. The hotel was in a good location and very clean.
I have stayed at this property four times and always loved it. The staff are impeccable. Breakfast is delicious. The rooftop pool and cafe bar are a hidden gem of Rome. My last visit was a bit disappointing though. I'm used to small rooms but this one was particularly cramped, awkward and badly designed. And the shower floor was so slippery when wet, I had to put down a bath towel in it just to give myself some traction. Please fix this. Overall a nice property.
Amazing Stay , Great Location
Hotel is amazing, great location and great staff. Really close to the colosseum. They also upgraded us and have a room with colosseum view. Breakfast is also good, could add more hot food options. Overall very satisfied with the stay and service provided by hotel.
The room was amazing. Short walk to the colosseum ! The staff at the at the hotel we're great, especially Luana ! Thanks to her for letting me leave my backpack there after i had checked out so I could walk around Rome one last time before catching my flight.
Front desk Sergio excellent. Will come again. Hair dryer in room 708 broken
We booked a room with the Colosseum. Check in was very pleasant, such a nice a welcoming team. View was great from room and from the rooftop bar. Rooftop bar service was also great. Easy walk to so many sites. We enjoyed our stay!
Beautiful roof top view
We had a wonderful stay on our trip. All the staff were very nice and helpful. My daughter took some excellent pictures from the roof top access. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning as well. Dining area was very clean and always well stocked. The only disappointing portion of our stay was me not being aware the air conditioning is only in operation on a seasonal basis. Unfortunately, during our stay Rome was having an unusually warm week, so there were no accommodations available to cool off the room. Other than that, it was a very pleasant and we would gladly stay there again!
The hotel’s architecture is ugly but it’s located very close to the tourist attractions in Rome within walking distance of the Colosseum and the Via Corso.
Proximity to key attraction in Rome was excellent. Breakfast was fantastic and well worth the incremental cost.
Steps from the Colliseum and the forum, there’s no better location to be in Rome. Wonderful staff, delicious breakfast, unbeatable value. I’ve stayed here twice and would definitely do so again. My highest recommendation.
We had high floor room with stunning view of Colosseum. Bedroom compact but well furnished with comfortable bed. Breakfast was included and whilst samey, very well presented, tasty and good choice of items. Staff were brilliant, helpful and knowledgeable, helping us with any advice we requested, from ordering taxi to Vatican City (€20, reasonably priced we thought) to identifying on a map where to go and where we'd been. Hotel is within stones throw of Colosseum with bars and restaurants within area around hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are planning to return asap. Would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here, pay a little extra and get a room with that spectacular view of Rome's most famous piece of architecture!
Excellent service, very clean! Well priced for the proximity to the coliseum.
Great location to walk into central Rome, wide choice of breakfast buffet, rooftop bar and seasonal pool with Colosseum views. Free water and espresso in room.
I booked this property to be close to the Coliseum and it didn't disappoint. Rooftop bar has nice views Coliseum. Staff were very helpful.
Room was small and dirty - mildew, mold and rot in the bathroom. Dingy lighting. Felt like a motel more than a hotel. That said, great location central to the colosseum and reception/staff was friendly and accommodating.
When I checked in, I was very impressed by the receptionist with the best smile in Europe. Her name is Lud.... (I'm sorry I don't remember your name completely.) Despite the early check-in, she willingly took care of my luggage, and after asking in a very polite language if she could give dolls to my kids, she gave them to my kids, in case my kids were nervous. My kids still adore the dolls and carry them in their bags. I check out at 6 a.m. the next day, and I accidentally came across her again. She said good bye with a really warm smile, which touched the best of my third visit to Rome. I felt so good, and I want to visit Mercure Roma Colosseo again. I appreciate your kindness.
Excellent location
Fabulous location 5-10mins from the Colosseum. Really attentive friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was reasonable. Rooftop pool area was better than expected with great views of the Colosseum and a large bar area. Getting a sunbed was challenging but guess thats standard! My only real negative was the bed in our room was really not comfortable - it felt quite hard. Room was also a little scruffy round the edges and if we'd paid the going rate of Eur600+ on arrival i would have been very disappointed. But overall very happy with our stay!
Amazing location with a great view of the coliseum from the pool area. The staff at the front desk were not the friendliest and seemed upset that people were asking for assistance such as calling for a cab. The last morni9ng that we were there, we asked the front desk employee to call for the service car earlier than what we booked. She said that she called and did not get someone to answer. I believe this not to be true. Area is safe around the hotel.
So close to everything...we could see the colisseum and on the very next blocks were lots of wonderful restaurants and markets. The mercure is adjacent to a beautiful park. Just a short walk to all of the tour buses..highly recommend this beautiful hotel. Staff so helpful..our family LOVED it.
excellent hotel and friendly staff, very close to the coliseum and all ancient rome sites, breakfast delicious and Italian cuisine restaurants affordable very close
Andrea at the front desk was very helpful. We loved the location and the rooftop bar was excellent. Great views of the colosseum from rooftop. Ate at excellent restaurant by there called pizza tarratoria. Go right and quick left from hotel.
What a great hotel in a wonderful part of the city. Roof top pool is a bonus!
Still a great location. Hotel stay is very reasonable price but drinks and snacks are expensive
Mercure Colosseo - good loc, but...
Single not. We could not get the AC cool enough. Bathroom had cracks in the sink and flaws in the frame of the door. The location was good.
Very nice hotel with comfortable room and modern bath. Rooftop pool and bar overlooking the colosseum was a nice way to end the day to unwind, cool off and watch the amazing sunsets. Location works well for catching the hop on hop off bus and plenty of dining options between the hotel and the Colosseum.
The rooftop pool was great for cooling down on a hot summer day, and the view of the Colosseum was amazing. The room was clean the only weird thing was the shower was next to the door to get to the room, and the restroom and vanity were on the other side of the room.
Fantastic long weekend spot
Great location, friendly staff and a fantastic view from the pool. Everything you need for a long weekend stay
.
Great hotel in a great location!
A fabulous hotel in a central location. The colleseum view from our room was iconic. The rooftop pool and bar were also a great addition to our stay as the weather was hot! Lots of great neighbourhood cafes and restaurants close by. The staff were helpful , professional and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.
An excellent stay and a great location. Amazing views from rooftop pool.

Nice Hotel with Good Amenities - Highly Recommend!
This hotel was located just steps away from the Colosseum. It has a nicely decorated lobby and sitting area. There was a breakfast buffet that offered lots of items to choose from - coffee, tea, juice, eggs, bacon, pastries, yogurt, etc. They also had a nice little cocktail bar. Our rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms were a nice size with shower gel, towels and a hair dryer. The staff was very nice when checking in and helping us with anything we needed, including providing us with umbrellas when it was raining, which was a nice perk. We also utilized their parking garage - be warned it is tight, but we had a small car. The hotel was on a strange road, so if you are not on the right side of the street, you will have to drive a long way around to get back to the hotel. But that was my only gripe about the place, it was the first place we stayed after a long flight from the US and it provided exactly what we needed for the few days we were in Rome.
