Ok for a cheap stay, but nothing more
Ok hotel, our room was extremely loud, banging doors, unground rattling the room and very small
The staff here is amazing. I can’t tell you how helpful they were. My elderly parents required extra attention and help, and the staff, particularly Olita, made them as comfortable as possible during our family’s stay. I would stay here again.., you can’t beat the location!
Great location but very noisy
Great location . Tiny room Very noisy .
Paddington stay small room
Small room but really close to Paddington which is what we needed. Sink was pressed against arm whilst using toilet and room really small Staff worked well as a team and were all really helpful
Just a quick stay on the journey home so wanted to be near Paddington station and it's just next door. Rooms are small but comfortable. Only issue we had was the smoke alarm going off 4x Inc at 4am!
Good stay apart from the fire alarms going off the one 4.30 in the morning was the worst one
Excellent hotel. Great location and proximity to Paddington station, shopping and restaurants. The staff were so polite and helpful- truly wonderful stay.
Clean and convenient for our trip to London
Great
Clean comfortable albeit a bit small.
On spur of the moment stay. Easy check and polite service.
Great early checkin and desk staff
We had a problem with the toilet but the property manager acted quickly and gave us a great option to make our stay perfect!
Very close to Paddington station! The room we booked was small but love the daily free drinks (coffee, tea, soda and bottled water). Staff were very helpful.
Small but comfortable room. Not sure if mine was a single but if it was a double it would have felt “cosy”
Great location
Excellent service! Great location with access to Paddington Station.
Excellent service
Hotel very clean and comfortable, staff were polite and helpful, especially Claudio the doorman.
Good Place
Great location being just around the corner to Paddington Station; literally a 5 minute walk from the room to boarding Heathrow Express. Rooms are clean and quiet and beds are comfortable. Staff were very accommodating and made sure we were satisfied with everything.
Probably the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed in per square foot of room and bathroom. Great location however and very friendly staff. You can fall onto Paddington Station from the front door.
The location of this hotel is just awesome right next to Paddington Station, I could walk, take the on and off bus, take the underground and nice area for restaurants as well. Staff were awesome.
The gym is too small. The hotel manager went out of her way to provide for a comfortable stay.
Good service
Outstanding customer service
I would particularly like to thank Mr Witek. I had not intended to stay an additional night, but there was a problem at Paddington station and no trains were running. The hotel at Paddington was therefore fully booked as travellers had to change plans last minute. It was my birthday and not quite what I had planned. I was fortunate to be upgraded at their sister hotel ( Hyde Park), my bags taken there and pre arrangements made for prosecco and chocolates. Everyone at both hotels was so kind and did their best to mitigate the unexpected end to my birthday trip.
Close to trains.
Not accessible and no replies to emails to confirm disabled access. A stay without a wheelchair would be great. Clean room, excellent location for Paddington station but just not suitable for disabled and don’t expect reply to messages sent via Expedia
The reception and door staff were super friendly, professional and helpful/accommodating. Ideal for travel via paddington.
Clean and comfortable
Booked last minute for work meeting. Clean and tidy room, good service at check in. Love complimentary drinks in the room. Would definitely return.
Staff were excellent and enjoyed the stay. The pleasent attitude of staff is reason, I look forward to come back. Belize at reception, lady at reception, the buffet kitchen staff.. everyone were amazing. Special call out to Belize.
Staff super nice and friendly. Recommended. Breakfast was excellent
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again if staying at London. Highly recommended hotel.
Good stay
I really enjoy staying at this hotel. Close to train to airport and shops and restaurants. The staff is very nice.
Small room
The hotel room was far to small and the cost was far too excessive.
Our room had a water leak in the light fixtures above the sink in our room's bathroom. It was serious. Our room was exceptionally small for the number of suit cases we had. We reported the situation to the front desk, maintenance took a look at it and said it was fixed. We did spend the night in the room, but it was still leaking from the floor above and the light fixtures blew up when I turned them on. The Hotel moved us and our luggage into another somewhat larger room, and the water leak was fixed after a section of the ceiling above the receptionist desk in the lobby, which my room was above, fell down and damaged a hotel computer. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and there was a nice restaurant with direct access from the hotel. People were friendly and nice!
Do Not do it
DO NOT CONSIDER THIS HOTEL Ceilings collapsing in hall ways Roaches on floor of bathroom Room not big enough to store bags around the bed NOT AS PER PHOTOS ON HOTELS.COM! Staff then argued refund, manager not available, just dreadful!
Room rather small. Also room was too warm, no AC and window didn’t open. AC installed but disconnected.
Room was single occupancy as bed was smaller then a double as advertised and was in a tiny room up against the wall
Front staff very friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable . Would recommend this hotel
Front desk and dining were very nice. Location is convenience.
Picture did not match the room given
My room in no way resembled the image I was sent. It was absolutely tiny which was gutting.
It was very close to Paddington Train Station.
The train noise can be heard. The room are small
The room was much too small!
The nosie from the crossrail Elizabeth line running under the hotel could be heard every 4 mins the breakfast was cold terrible nights sleep for the money we wont be staying again
Mercure London Paddington
Our room wasn't set up the way we had asked before arriving. The email i received was addressed to another person. (My names Amanda not Amber). Window in room was just for show. No outside just a void (strange). Couldn't keep the bathroom door shut as it rattled terrible due to being so close to Paddington Station. Scolded under my arm and head in shower as it went from either freezing cold to scolding hot. OK hotel but wouldn't class it as 4 star to be honest. Staff were very professional though.
Staff very pleasant and helpful
The room was tiny, the bed even smaller! The duvet was too small for the duvet cover. The blind on the window the cord was tangled. The lights worked intermittently. The hotel was clean and tidy. But was very dissatisfied with the room was definitely not worth the high price paid. Although not the hotels fault, there are a lot of construction work right outside the hotel. The window of the room looked over the construction work, so it was very noisy and the flimsy blind did not block out the bright lights . So I would only give the room itself. One star at best!!
Convenient location for getting to and from Heathrow
Friendly staff, appreciate room for cost and comfortable.
Good location.
Great hotel.
Don’t stay here if you want to sleep
This hotel has a building site right next to it. Extremely noisy, at all hours.
They changed us hotel, no compensation or explanation was given
Comfy Stay
The room was just the right size for a couple. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Would definitely stay here again. Check-in was fast and easy.
Pros: My room was very small, but clean and well designed. Bed was comfortable. Free water and soft drinks in the room are a nice touch. Location is very convenient, just around the corner from the Paddington station, with a plenty of restaurants around the hotel. Cons: I was kept waiting at reception desk at check-in because of system difficulties. It was 10pm so I was pretty tired. The walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours.
Very good location but small room for 2 people. A lift that never worked brings the rating down
Tiny double room #217 with not even proper space for 3 suitcases. Debris from last guest with a smelly stained carpet. Airconditioning seem to blow more dust than hot/cold air! To top it elevator didn’t work during our entire 4 days stay and staff unaware of when to be fixed. Positives was the staff who was very friendly and helped us carrying our suitcases up and down the stairs and even to the trainstation upon check out. Also location is perfect to experience what London has to offer.
This property was a disaster. Steps to enter and no doorman to carry luggage. Elevator was broken and there is only one of them. Our room on the first floor was up 3 flights of stairs and we could hear the announcements of incoming trains on Paddington station loud and clear. The room was stifling and we turned on the air conditioner which sounded like a plane taking off. Maintenance came and said it was old. The single beds are not 3’ wide but narrower. The closet was butted up against one of the beds and difficult to access. The room was very claustrophobic. We asked for an alternate room and were told the hotel was full.
Not great
Room was so hot even at the end of sept. Had to have the aircon blasting for an hour before ut was comfortable. Check in took 25mins. Lift is small. Bathroom is cramped and the toilet bowl is so low, not great for those who have dodgy knees or are tall.
satisfied
cozy
Close to transport & cafes.
The air conditioning in my room did not work. I had it set at 19C all night and it never got below 27C in there, which is far too warm for sleeping. I’m not sure how this facility got four stars but I spent far more than it was worth, even at the discounted Expedia price. The only positive thing I have to say is that it was very close to Paddington Station for me to get the Heathrow Express in the morning, but I would have had the same benefit at the Hilton and that property looked MUCH nicer.
Adequate
Room was smaller than I thought, which made opening large suitcases difficult, and air-conditioning seemed to be on the fritz (however, this is probably only relevant for a small window in London Summer)
Expedia listed the property as a 4 star hotel and it was clearly not. The lobby and basement (where the public bathroom was) smelled terrible. The rooms were dirty and the bed had hair on it. Expedia did not help me resolve the issue. I was forced to pay for a second room for the same night.
A hotel long overdue for a refresh. Fortunately only a 1 night stay for us but had it been longer we would have moved. Definitely not worth the price we paid.
Check-in was stated as "from 3pm" but it was nearly 4pm by the time I got into my room. Some of the staff seemed quite indifferent, it certainly wasn't a warm and friendly welcome and I felt ignored. I had to wait in a *tiny* reception area that was not air conditioned, it was a particularly hot day. The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom fixtures were a little tired, with chrome shower fixtures hanging off. The shower-over-bath was rubbish; a weird 2-shower curtain set up (one in front of the window) so it was impossible to shower without the curtains clinging to me, I nearly scalded myself as the shower taps were old and confusing to use.The loo seat was loose and moved. The room's air conditioning was noisy and failed to get the room to a decent temperature. Very disappointed with what was an "Executive Room" at £277 for the night, I've paid less and got better in London. I will not stay there again.
The stuffs are really not professional. They don't know their responsibility even. They are just there to occupying the desk. Really disappointing
Fabulous location - a stone’s throw from Paddington Station makes it easy tube rides to everywhere. Hyde Park a short walk away, loads of restaurants and cafes.
Terrible location and extremely noisy. Small rooms.
This was not hotel, it was terribly annoying to book a hotel and tbey redirect your somwhere else, it was late night otherwise i wont accept it. Misleading and fully disappointed.
Very convenient to Paddington station , but you can hear and feel the underground a lot. Room was very small
Well illuminated Small double!
Booked a double room and double bed. Room was very small and was later told it was a small double! Is it just me, that ain't a double. Security lighting from building site illuminated room all night. Wooden blinds were totally useless. The room door had a sizable gap that also let light into room from permantley on lights in the corridor. Kind of wished I'd booked the premiere Inn near by. Would have been cheaper and way nicer.
Great Location
We found the room to be clean and comfortable, although a little small for our taste. Front desk service was cordial and helpful. Having location right next to Paddington Station and several good pubs was a big plus.
Ok stay, nice staff, decent location.
Our overnight stay was fine but not exceptional. Good location but on 1st floor you can hear the underground trains running every few minutes til gone midnight. My request for a quiet room via hotels.com wasn’t taken on board (presumably higher floors would be quieter), but as we were only staying overnight we didn’t complain or ask to be moved. No sockets next to either side of the bed which is frustrating. Room was a little dark and lighting not great. Currently large building works going on next door - luckily workers weren’t operating on that section during our stay but could be in the future. Nice staff, especially the night porter. Power shower good and nice complimentary soft drinks in mini fridge and tea/coffee/biscuits. Convenient and ok value especially as we used our Reward voucher. However I probably wouldn’t book this hotel again.
Nice Room and Excellent Location
I stayed at the hotel for six nights in a double room and it worked very well for me. The location was perfect - ~30 minutes from Heathrow on the Elizabeth line. There are four different Underground lines at Paddington so very convenient to get around London. The double room was not very big, but exactly as advertised and it worked perfectly fine for me as a solo traveler. There was a mini-fridge with complimentary sodas and water restocked every day. The staff were friendly and helpful, greeting me in the morning as I left and in the evening when I returned. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to London!
Yuck. No way is it 4 stars. Avoid.
The room smelt musty. Originally they tried to convince me that a single bed in a cupboard was the double room I was paying close to £200 a night for. They never backed down on the point but did move because they luckily had space. They provided very cheap earplugs in an attempt to recognise the noise from both the trains and the construction site immediately outside. The table was dusty. My office is around the corner and I regularly stay overnight in paddington. I'll avoid this hotel in future.
Convenient for travel from the Paddington station. Enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks. The room was perfectly fine though slight dated.
Worn out rooms. Bathroom without heating.
I put the do-no-disturb sign outside my door. On the first day, the housekeeper went into my room even with the do-no-disturb sign outside my door. I complained to the receptionist and I was told the housekeeper would be informed. On the last day, I was staying in my room during the day time. Again, the housekeeper went into my room again. I was very disturbed with the intrusions. It's unacceptable the hotel did nothing to educate the housekeepers.
Extremely close to Paddington station. Tiny room.
Check in
Ok. The check in was a nightmare. 2 people with no sense of urgency and a lobby full guests waiting to check in.
The hotel was in walking distance from Paddington Station and as we had an appointment at St Mary's hospital which was around the corner to the hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent the staff were very pleasant and very obliging. Would recommend this hote,l will use this hotel again when visiting either for hospital appointment or for a weekend break.
Great location but room is outdated and noisy
The hotel is in an unbeatable location - close to Paddington station and underground and perfect for travellers. We would have appreciated being notified about the construction next door however, as it was very noisy, bright and disruptive. Our room was on the same level as the construction floodlights which meant that it was always bright as daylight inside and we had to keep our blinds closed due to being eye level with the workers. While the room came with earplugs, we did not think it was sufficient as we would not have booked the room if we had known. Pros: Walk-in shower with plenty of space for amenities, a selection of complementary soft drinks and mineral water in the room, location Cons: The bed was not very comfortable and was on the smaller side, up against a wall; Some amenities were not working or missing altogether (the Handy and the Chromecast)
Good location and friendly staff
There wasn’t any hot water so had a freezing cold shower. When I spoke with reception about this it was as if they didn’t care. The receipt didn’t match the amount I had paid for the room and once again I was told to email Mercure to complain. Not the best stay I have had in London and won’t be staying there again.
Property was okay. Tiny room, fair amount of noise.
Mold in room, broken wardrobe mirror
Cupboard sold as a double room
I booked a double room and the room looked amazing in the photo. The reality could not have been more different. The “double room” measured 6 ft x 12 ft and the bed was tight against two walls with a few inches to get by to a bathroom that a five year old would fit it. A total disgrace and fraud. I am just passing the details to Trading Standards
Brill location, felt a few tubes going along but due to train strikes cant comment on noise. Hotel open 24 and reception has staff there all the time. Staff were polite and helpful although a smile would be nice. Room was good size for the two of us and very clean. Bathroom light near the room front door rather than the bathroom and we couldnt get hot water in the morning. Bed comfy and warm, heating blew out cold area rather than warm. Some more biscuits would be nice too.
Outdated small room, block in my sink, very low water pressure in the shower, hardly any light in the bathroom for a proper shave. Priced room for very little in return.
The location couldn’t be any better. Right next to Paddington train station.
Proximaty to Paddington station is excellent. However the room was not set up very well and floor space was minimal. Had two suitcases with us and two carry on bags as well. No room to set them all down with a safe passage to bathroom (at night). Restaurant for breakfast not a good value.
Poor value for money
Noisy aircon. Small room. Bathroom tiny. Blind broken. Window handles loose. So noisy they provided earplugs! Astonishingly expensive at £270/ night
The location was ideal. The staff were the best i have ever encountered both in the states and abroad. They were knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help answer questions. Welcoming every time you came in the hotel lobby. The breakfast had several choices and was delicious. The comp, imentary beverages in the refrigerator in the room was a nice treat. I would definitely stay here in the future.
The room was nice but small. The elevator was broken and there did not seem to be any urgency to get it fixed. The breakfast offered with the room at a restaurant next door was pretty much inedible.
Satisfactory
You pay for location. Rooms are small and expensive other than it was merely a satisfactory place to stay. Nothing special.
key cards were being replaced and needed to be reactivate every day, good coffee and tea in the room and in the lobby, quiet, large bathroom, no lift (broken the entire time) - had to walk up stairs with baggage. Great location, steps from Paddington station. Friendly staff. Clean. Boutique feel.
What a ripoff
This was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I had to climb over the bed to get to it. Nothing like what was described on the Hotels.com site. I was on the 4th floor and the sole elevator was not working so had to carry my luggage up and down stairs. At £280 the biggest rip off ever
Terrible
When I checked in the lift was not working. The manager was friendly and staff helped me with my luggage. Although it said on the website that breakfast started at 6:30 am I was informed at check-in that it started at 7am. When I came down in the morning at 7am the restaurant was closed and when the lady did come out she said supplies had not arrived and it would not be open until 7:15am. As I had paid for breakfast I asked for a refund. The person at reception made excuses about having to go through hotels.com and he kept repeating himself but I had to go and get my train. The breakfast still has not been refunded, even though he said he was dealing with it. The girl on reception (who had no name tag) was rude and should not have a job in customer service. She barely acknowledged me but was very friendly to the other staff. She did not want to be there and it was very clear. I feel she needs some training, or a different job where she does not deal with customers. I was appauled by her attitude.
The thing that was unusual is that daily we needed to get our room key re-coded bcz the system would "check us out of our room" therefore requiring us to stop in daily at the desk to get our room keys recoded to work on our door. annoying and seems a bit odd really, as other guests said they did not have that issue.
Manager, all though she gave an upgrade and got us in early, was rude. no remote for tv, could not get into safe, if there was air conditioning, was definitely not cooling the room at all. Gave us another room, after 8 hours, smaller but still the air conditioning was terrible. Do not recommend this property!
OK there are better nearby
This hotel is ok. The staff at check in seemed a bit flustered. I had requested a room upgrade and understood I would need to pay for this. I was given a very small room to be fair it was changed to a bigger one when I asked. The hotel is noisy you can hear people in the corridors The air con is also very noisy Despite having so not disturb on door someone knocked to instal a fridge. Great idea as it was very hot but surely look at the door sign first. It’s very close to Paddington station. So the location was convenient for me I wouldn’t stay again

Fully Booked - Yet Booked
Arrived at hotel at 9pm. After about 10mins waiting for them to tap away at the computer they informed me that the hotel is full and I would need to go to another sister hotel. I cannot believe hotels are still allowed to over book!! They informed me that due to the inconvenience that everything in my room would be complementary. Well when I did arrive into the shoe box the fridge that said complementary on it anyway had one can of come one diet and two cartons of water!!! Never again with this chain. 2nd time this has happened in 1 month
