lovely place, friendly people, amazing view and great support
The best thing I could say is location... location... location. Conveniently situated within a 2 minutes walk to pyramid complex... The hotel is a bit dark and gloomy... Everything is very dated. The hotel could use a makeover.
Would stay here again
Stayed here for 3 days while exploring Giza. Like everywhere we went in Egypt, the locals make it challenging to get around by constantly harassing you to buy something, or ride in a chariot or taxi, and this harassment continues constantly. The staff in this hotel were particularly helpful - the best service we got in Egypt. They checked that we had meals throughout the day and brought all meals to our room on request. The food was tasty, fresh and hot. They arranged laundry service for us. Like everywhere we stayed in Africa, The shower leaks, the bathroom floor becomes a swimming pool. We had 2 double beds in our room, on one the slats kept falling out and the pillows are high and hard and one long pillow. We ended up sleeping separately. Free WiFi in the room. Room was affordable and this is reflected in the quality. Excellent view of Sphinx and pyramids - we paid extra to upgrade to a higher level. Cool watching the sound and light show from the room with dinner!! Balcony was very small in the room. The tours arranged by the hotel were good, with delicious lunch. Would stay here again!
Egypt Trip
It was fantastic, breakfast was amazing. And the view of the pyramids from the roof is breathtaking.
The staffs are really helpful and accommodating. Ahmad and Nasser are really helpful.
Me and my wife just finished a week long trip to Giza and I will say the hospitality showed to us by the hotel staff was amazing! Everyone there went out of their way to be kind and helpful. I can say our trip could have easily been mundane or even stressful but the staff made sure we knew the what how and why the took all those stressful moments away. Insider secret for sure try to grab room 120 for the best views while staying there 👍
There was no one there when we arrived to check us in. Thankfully, I had hired a local guide who was able to call a few people around the area and have someone come to meet us to check us in. Upon arrival in the room, I noticed that every surface was coated in a layer of dust and grime. I understand that the location is in a desert, however, it was enough grime that it looked as if it had not been cleaned in over a week. There were tiny hairs all over the supposedly clean pillow case and one pillow had no case on it and had obviously been used as there were hairs and stains all over the pillow. The shower head was leaking profusely so no water pressure and the holder was broken as well. Wifi was spotty at best and worked only on occasion. The only plus of this place is the location as the Pyramids are right there. There are no amenities provided except for a towel and hand soap.
Nightmare.
I have contacted hotels.com staff about this experience. Nothing short of horrific.
Best hotel in Cairo.
This hotel is amazing. Best location. Best view. We were about 5 min walk to the Sphinx and could watch the light show from our balcony. Food and shops working walking distance. Ahmed was so helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
You are in front of the Sphynx and the 9 pyramids!, that's Egypt in a nutshell, is not the Ritz, limited english and no croissants or starbucks coffee but you are in true Egypt with their camel, donkey/small horses, dogs/ cats debris natural smel;l and real egyptians, nice, affable happy people who smoke a lot and want your dollars and euros, I didn't see any roaches, none, plenty of flyes and unsualual rites at 3 am with muslin hymns.Hosts Ahmed, Islam, Abdul and bro are wonderful and will make good effort to make you happy, they'll kiss you if they like u, rent a camel and forget western civilization and u will be fulfilled, book it
Amazing with view on pyramids.
Whether was good, location amazing with view on pyramids directly from balcony.
I was so disgusted with the location and property itself, I checked out and found another hotel at 1:30 in the morning. There is not one photo on their page that is legit. The rooms were so gross I wouldn't put my things down, few was a parking lot of trash, donkeys and wild dogs. Towels looked to be 20 years old, pillows were stained, my room didn't have a lock.or doorknob. The kid that was working was very nice but did not understand my concerns. This is a hostile not hotel!
Access to the roof made a great view of the pyramids along with the light show at night and awesome experience!!
The view was breathtaking from my window each and every morning! Ashraf was always quick to help out with anything I needed in the morning, and Ahmed at night
Location location location. Friendly and helpful staff
To me... the view of the pyramids right outside my window was well worth the cost of the room, and I was more than willing to give up the extra refined amenities of a more luxurious hotel for that view. Everyone’s different I suppose, but I traveled to Egypt to see the sites, not stay in my room... so the fact that there was a locked door, clean bed, toilet and running water was all I was after! The staff is friendly and willing to assist in anyway they can. I would absolutely stay there again on my next visit!
it was everything perfect. The staff very helpfull and the view was magic.
The Mena Inn Pyramids was a great place to stay, very close to the pyramids. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My room was very clean and comfortable.
Stay away!!
Location is directly in front of the pyramids. It was a scary neighborhood. We our uber drove by the streets people kept jumping on the car banging in the windows. When we finally found the place some random drunk kid came and grabbed our bags out the car and kept begging us for more money after tipping him 5 euros. There was no one in the front desk or in the building so the kid kept harassing us for more money. Finally the manager co tatted us via a different tenant who let us in. The manger came early he next morning and kept trying to make us book camel rides and to hire a driver at a very expensive rate of 59 dollars per person. After refusing countless amount of times the next he kept trying to get us to only go to his family shops and use his driver. We paid for the driver. Driver was suppose to speak English and tell us a bit of the places we were going to. He did not speak English and only drove us to 2 our of the 4 places he promised. Also it was suppose to be from 10-4pm and he drove us from 10:30-2pm. Hotel itself was dirty shower did not work and faucet kept running out of water after only one person being able to brush their teeth. Toilet paper was not provided and we had to keep asking for it. I do not recommend to anyone.
Best thing - The View
Arrived and friend was waiting for me outside to whisk me away. So case was carried upstairs for me, thank you. Didn't get back to hotel at night until 10 pm, to find only 5 sheets of toilet paper. Could find no staff at all in hotel to get any that night. Looked hard to find a towel......... every hotel I have stayed in Egypt has always provided a number of towels. However after much searching found a very thin and hard towel, not much bigger than a tea towel, and just the one. Shower was warm, but it dribbled out of the shower and much water went into the floor. Had to be very careful not to slip as being on fourth floor, no telephone in room, if I slipped and fell, could have been there all night. Breakfast comprised of two pieces of falafel, three rolls, bit of jam, cheese, bottle of water and carton of juice. No tea or coffee supplied at breakfast. There was a kettle, water, tea and coffee supplied on fourth floor if you required a drink at other times, but no milk. Room was clean, but no cleaning service was provided for the two nights I was there. I suppose you know that no one has been in your room though......... It certainly has a fabulous view for eating breakfast with the view of the pyramids and the Sphinx, and is very central for Nazlet. I was an hour late checking out and wasn't charged by the owner. Only saw the owner on arrival, and departure, when he was keen to chat, and suggest I give my stay 10/10.
Nice view from hotel to piramids
in the night time very noisy outside and not good smells
The staff is very helpful and extremely nice. Plus the view was amazing both from my room and the rooftop terrace .
Can't beat the view or the service
We traveled as a family of 5 and reserved 2 rooms for our stay. The rooms are comfortable, although not luxurious, and was clean overall. The bathroom in one room was more in need of updating than the other, but there was plenty of hot water. There are no shower curtains on the showers and we found that a bit uncomfortable. The air conditioning worked well and we found that running it, although it wasn't necessarily hot, helped to cover some of the street noise. This inn sits in a busier section, so there is road noise most of the night. The advantage of this is that there is a small convenience store across the road, a pizza hut and a KFC around the corner and always plenty to "people watch". The view from the rooftop is stunning and we spent a good deal of time up there. Breakfast is simple, but certainly enough to get you going. There wasn't coffee on site, just tea, but you can pick up some instant coffee packs at the store across the street. We were only at the Inn for 3 days, but got to know Akmad, Omar and Ashraf over that time. They are kind, helpful and dedicated to making sure we enjoyed our stay. We looked forward to seeing them each morning. They genuinely were concerned about our comfort while we were with them. From getting dinner for us that first night, to carrying our luggage up quite a few flights of stairs (be advised, there is no elevator), to helping me purchase bread from the lady outside each morning, they were all terrific!
A nice calm hotel near Sphinx area. You could see a magnificent view of pyramids and Sphinx.
Great place!!
My son and I stayed in this hotel for 1 week and it was great! Couldnt be any closer to the pyramids, the neighborhood is locals so you can really get a feel for Egyptian life. The roof is great. The rooms are great! The staff was all friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is perfect for a day of exploring and they bring it to your room. The area felt very safe for us (we are American). If you spend a little extra and upgrade to the balcony room with a pyramid view its so worth it
Awful, not worth it, terrible place!!!
It was a terrible place, when we checked in the guy didn't even ask for my name, I never signed anything, there is no reception, just a home computer and home printer. The room had no heat, the bed had no fitted sheet just a sheet laying on top of the bed, and one old ratty pillow and blanket. It is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed at!!!! Do not stay here!!
Very cold Staff was lovely it's a Hostel NOT hotel
Go for the view, everything else will be fine.
For the view and the price, I would have been happy with a box on a roof. Instead, we got a room with three full sized beds, air conditioning, fridge, balcony overlooking the pyramids and free breakfast. Sure, one of the beds broke, one of us didn't have a blanket, one of us almost got locked in the bathroom and there really wasn't hot water in the shower but again, don't care, the view makes up for everything. Would definitely stay again.
Best Pyramids and Sphinx view stay imaginable.
Ahmed and his brother were absolutely amazing, helping me and my family in so many ways to get the most out of our stay in Cairo. They are truly service oriented and you can ask for whatever you need and they will always do their best for you. Other guests we met also had great experiences with them. Also, the view from the hotel is truly one of a kind, with the sacred geometry of the Pyramids overlooking you at every moment and the Sphinx just a stone's throw away, you could hardly ask for a better place to stay if seeing these monuments is what you are in Egypt to do.
Close to Pyramids!
This hotel is the closest Pyramids and Sphinx. Practically within walking distance with eating places, and shops right outside the hotel. Friendly hotel staff, and clean, private rooms.
Room with an amazing view
1 minute walk to the pyramid exit gate (which you can now use to enter). Watched the pyramid light show from the roof balcony at night. Ok breakfast. Great wifi & aircon. People outside are unrelenting. They are desperate for tourist dollars because there are hardly any tourists. I felt safe the whole time but I did walk around with my husband and son. Great value for money.
Good for the price but ...
Yes ... For the price ... Is good ! But ... They try to charge 25$ American dollars for the shuttle to the airport in a very old car , uber only charge me 88LE Egyptian pounds to take me to the airport on a "almost" new car we talk about uber select ! They live the breakfast on the floor outside de doors ! and the tea area is very exposed so take a lot of dusty on the cups and on the tea ! Well ... As I talk before ... Is a very cheap hotel with very cheap service ! If u travel alone and only need a place to rest ... That's the place otherwise... Pay a little bit more and grab a real hotel ! I saw a very nice one just on the side of pyramids! Another option is the heat pyramid inn (few meters from this one) , they charge a little bit more but is a best service and they don't charge to pickup on the airport ! Of course u must to live something "10US dollars" is ok ! They will charge u 225LE to take u back to the airport , but I highly recommend uber select !
Great inn. Close to the pyramids!
I had a great experience! Close to the pyramids. Staff helpful with scheduling personal toured.
Worst hotel ever.
The view and the location is great but the comfort didn't exist. I reserved 2 nights but had to leave early. The room was so hot that I couldn't sleep, the bathroom was filthy. Some of the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating but they tried to charge me outrageous amounts of money for nearby attractions that only I found to be significantly cheaper right outside of the hotel. The breakfast was basic. I am an experienced budget traveler so I understand getting what you pay for but this was beyond bad. Spend a little more money for something better.
Perfect view
The view on terrace by itself makes this hotel a great deal! The entrance to pyramids is right across the street! The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. Of course they try to sell u tour packages but when I declined, they didnt insist or take it personal. Wifi was good... The only bad thing is the town itself. The streets are Not very clean because of camels and horses and etc. but its a great experience. recommended for view and easy access to pyramids.
basic price basic stay
Basic room with basic set up. you come here for the view so make sure your room has the view or not worth the stay. Some venders are a little pushy but that's everywhere in Eygpt.Staff is very kind and ready to help with everything. No TV, No Fridge,no AC, ( but windows open is same because the night air is very cool here)you get a basic breakfast . about riht for the price of the stay. Enjoyed and recommend for travelers that won't be in room for long periods of time and are there to simply see the sites at the pyramids.
Exactly as described in photos!
The photos of this place are exactly as shown in the photos. They have a rooftop that faces the pyramids directly. In fact the window from my room has a direct view of the pyramids as well. Staff members were friendly and helpful, absolutely recommend them to anyone else travelling to visit the pyramids!
stay for the view
you book this hotel for the view. this is a basic hotel. basic room and breakfast. but fantastic owners and staff you are helpful
Excellent new hotel in front of the three pyramids
This hotel is new and right in front of the pyramids. I had an excellent view from the balcony of my room. the owners of the hotel are very warm-hearted - they treated me like beeing part of the family. i can highliy recommend a stay in this hotel and i will be back very soon!
Worst travel experience of my life
They literally could not pay me to stay there again! Worst experience of all my travels and I’ve been around the world. Too many reasons to list. Just stay away from this property. On this same trip, I stayed at a hostel in Jordan and it was better than the Mena and I didn’t like the hostel either.
