We enjoyed our stay at Melasti! We stayed for 7 nights in a family suite with our 2 children and the room set up was perfect for a family of 4. Our room was tidied everyday, new towels and bottled water provided. The hotel has a small mini mart at the front to purchase extra larger bottles water. The property is in a great location right on the beach front and has many dining and shopping options close by. Also, many tattoo and beauty parlours. The facilities aren't "5-star", in terms of a few bits and pieces are run down, but for the price and location, it didn't bother us at all. The 3 pool areas kept our kids happy and 2 pools have swim-up bars to order food and drinks. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. My mother stayed at the resort also, and was placed in a room far away from us and rhe aircon wasnt working very well. She raised her concerns with staff, and the next day they were able to move her to a room closer to us and with a better aircon. Staff do eveything they can to help.

This property is very old.. ciean The breakfast is very basic ( needs bacon ) The hot food was cold and they need to use covers over there food For the price and location it is ok

Our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay over new years Dec 24. Very convenient location for walking, close to beach, shopping and food options. Facilities were great, we all enjoyed the pools. The rooms were spacious but quite dated. Overall would come back again!

After 6 attempts to get our toilet fixed we gave up. Apparently it wasn’t working properly for the previous guests. Also never book tours through the hotel they call it a booking fee but it is a commission.

Dirty, rundown and nothing worked. Eg. Toilets not working, no cold water at times, smelled like sewerage when door was opened, room was dirty. Bathroom sink was blocked and not running. Linnen and towels were old and grey instead of white.

We love that it remains traditional balinese but sadly it is falling into disrepair in the older accommodation. Staff are friendly and breakfasts very good offering!! Well located and quiet of a nighttime.

I’ve stayed here many times over the years but not in December. Unfortunately the weather was poor in Bali during my stay. The condition of the hotel has deteriorated a lot and the breakfast standard has dropped substantially. I think this is because of a drop in cliental bookings. All of Bali seemed quieter. The staff here always wonderful but the facilities sadly are poor. Electricity kept tripping in one of our rooms. Hot water was not always available. At on stage there was no water for the whole day. One room had rats inside the room eating behind the wardrobe.

Great hotel if maintenance was finished

We got there an hour early but was told our room was ready we thought great but when we got there the door was stuck and had to push so hard to open and went inside it hadn’t been cleaned and the aircon was not on so we put our cases in our room and contacted reception and they came to clean so we went off for lunch. When we got back it was nice and tidy but the aircon still wasn’t working only hot air blowing out we tried to fix and sort of worked but asked someone to check it out so we went out for awhile but when we got back it was nice and cool. Tired and a bit irritated I sat down to watch tv but only 7channels of static we couldn’t watch anything. Lucky I had my iPad to watch Netflix. Wifi is excellent a pity they don’t have smart tv . Also it was annoying that 1 of the pools was closed for maintenance it was was my favourite which wasn’t shown on your website when I booked. Also the bathroom door kept getting stuck as well. A bit of maintenance wouldn’t go astray

Didn’t like the work being carried out around one of the pools, from 7.30 am to 10pm they don’t give a dam about the people staying there, have to walk over mud & rubble to get in and out if your room, room door hard to lock. Room tiers and sheets terrible quality, have definitely seen better days. Breakfast very average

Pool is run down, broken tiles, paving trip hazards. No playground or indoor play room like advertised. Not any shade around pool. Breakfast was good with changing daily options and egg station. Great location both street and beach. Quiet at night no loud music. Large family rooms was great.

Even though this Hotel is slightly run down and had a few issues, my wife and I could not speak more highly as the location and staff were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days here and are already planning our next trip back.

Friendliness

Toilets blocked, no hot water in some rooms. Swimming pools dirty. No decent coffee, ie cappuccino. Bad lighting in rooms, TV service needs upgrading. No bacon or baked beans at breakfast. Not enough lounges around pool. Pool steps broken and sharp metal pieces protruding from beneath water where steps have broken away. Very dangerous

I wouldn’t recommend this property to my worst enemy. The photos are completely fabricated. The rooms are run down, air con doesn’t work and there is an enormous amount of mould throughout the bathrooms. The shower leaks all over the floor and doesn’t drain anywhere. So the slip hazard is crazy! The bathrooms are also “recycled” ocean water, so if you are after having a nice refreshing shower don’t bet on it. I was covered in a rash from my duration staying there from the tap water. The hotel would pop fresh bottle of drinking water in our rooms daily. The second day I was there mine had a dirty Bandaid stuck to it. My friends room had a rat in it on 2 different nights. I booked a total of 9 nights here with friends and asked for a refund for the last 4 so I could stay somewhere else to actually enjoy my holiday and they refused. I would never step foot in this hotel ever again.

I would stay here again because it is on the beach, and the room was huge,the pool is amazing, easy access to shopping. The rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade, the shower curtains are discusting, (I would stay again but take my own shower curtains lol) Our balcony overlooked the pool, I had a Superior Room, I would recommend getting this room out of them all and try and stay on the secon floor as you dont have everyone walking past and you have a lovely view of the pool.

I paid for an early check in at 9am for 3 rooms . We received the keys for the rooms at 12pm only to have 2 of the rooms not cleaned yet and still in the dirty condition from previous guests . The rooms were not ready until after 2pm and they still tried to charge me for early check in The bathrooms had mould all around the showers and the toilets were broken and needed someone to fix them every day Their is no spa / massage facilities at the hotel like stated in the name or the description The buffet breakfast is extremely limited nobody wants salad and garlic bread for breakfast You can not exchange money at the hotel you can only do it out on the street Was charged $4.80 for ice Over all thought I was getting a nice relaxing holiday were I would not have to leave the hotel as everything would be there but spent very little time relaxing there at all Would not recommend this place at all save you money and go elsewhere

Old hotel needs refurbishment

Resort and Villas are in urgent need of a facelift. Air conditioners not working, very poor water pressure, roof tiles, missing, cracked or broken, drains not letting water out of showers. Ponds with stagnant dirty water. Very few if any pool towels. Couldn't fault the staff though, they were amazing as always and food was also fantastic.

Good value for money , aircon perfect, fridge worked, excellent hot water, bed was ok room was clean. Breakfast had huge range and overlooked the beach. Good pools , SUPER AWESOME STAFF who found my airpods 💓💓💓 just a lovely stay...heads up to the security boys at the front gate you lads are gold.

Should be rated as a one star hotel. Staff where the laziest people when it came to house keeping and maintenance. Time for it to be taken off Expedia.

Love going here but they really need to update their toilet facilities, very old and always breaking down but staff are lovely and couldn’t fault one person throughout the entire staff.

Water pressure in shower poor

Unfortunately our room wasn't very clean on arrival, had trouble with the TV, fridge and the water pressure in the shower was terrible. Would be good if the bathrooms were updated in every area of the resort. I found the cleaning staff very kind and always helpful.

Melasti is in a great spot and a great choice for the budget traveller looking for a clean room with lovely staff. It’s not 5 star and is an older property in need of some maintenance, which they were doing during our stay. A great place to sleep and base yourself for those looking to explore the area.

The resort is beautiful. However, some of the bathroom windows didn't have a screen on them which allows bugs to get in. Also, towels were left outside of the rooms uncovered. They should be placed in a bag to prevent bugs & geitco

Location Price good. property run down. Needs garden upgrades and tidyups. A good paint job wouldnt go astray.

Not Relaxing

We were put in a room overlooking the big pool which was great but the toilet didn’t work, it took 4 visits in 5 days by the maintenance person before we got a small flush. I was using bathrooms elsewhere if possible. The shower and toilet both leaked over the floor and we had a permanent towel at the tap end of the bath and towels on the floor to absorb the water. The toiletries consisted of a soap dispenser in the shower which didn’t work, toothbrush and shower cap. I had to ask for extra towels for the leaks. They were taking up the tiles around the big pool that we overlooked so there was a constant drilling noise between 8am-6pm. We booked into this resort because we wanted peace and quiet by the pool. Was the complete opposite of what we were hoping for. Won’t be staying here again.

Staff always very friendly and helpful. Accommodated to all our needs. Very convenient as close to street and beach. Gardens and rooms need some maintaining but enjoyable stay at Melasti.

Booked this hotel for 2 adults and 2 children. Upon check-in there was a king bed but not the 2 single beds in the family deluxe room we booked.We asked about the beds and we received 4 mattresses stacked that were torn. There were powerpoints not connected to the wall with exposed wires, very unsafe. There were 3 towels for 4 people. There was a saucer and a spoon but no cups. We had to ask 3 times for the towel and cups. The pools had areas of green slime and smelled. On the plus side, the location is great. Opposite the beach and close to everything. The staff were all very friendly. The hotel needs a major upgrade.We booked for 4 nights but left after 2. We are usually very easy going but it was just too unsafe for our 7 and 3 year old girls.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this "3 star" accommodation - Pros - location, staff, suite room size, gardens, 2 pools, value Cons - cleaning in rooms could be better, our aircon didn't work well, but our friends rooms did, no hot water last couple of days

The staff at Melasti were really good. They worked under difficult circumstances. The property is aging and it appears that the owners are not keeping up with maintenance. I felt for the staff who were doing everything they could to deal with issues. The big pool needed a really good clean as there was lots of sunsceen scum on the water and tiles.

The room I booked wasn’t the one we ended up with aircon not working shower only trickling in water and it smelt musky. It was a standard room which I never book. I had to pay the upgrade of $90 which I wasn’t happy about. I will not be staying there again.

Never stay there again

Room was big, however the bathroom had mould, shower nozzle not working properly no shower screen so water was everywhere, shower water had salty taste. No towels for a whole day after calling 4 times I had to go to reception to ask personally again. Pool was filthy tiles dirty, no water to clean teeth, power points not working had to charge my phone in the restaurant. Wifi was intermittent. I was supposed to have a superior room and would hate to see the standard room, on the upside staff friendly and the food in restaurant was nice. I will never stay there again.

No hot water for 3 days

It was been our second time at the Melasti in the last 6 months. They have improved the facilities since we were there in September. They are redoing all the existing rooms including bathrooms. Great for families with the 3 pools and a bit of play equipment for kids. Would recommend the buffet breakfast and staff always have a smile for you. There is a fantastic seafood restaurant Asmer on the beach right out the back of the resort. Will definitely go back to Melasti resort and spa.

We really enjoyed our stay, room waa old style baliness, very clean, staff went up ans beyond with service nothing was too much. Great location right on beach, has 3 swimming pools - 2 with swim up bars. Food and drinks really cheap. Definitely will be back.

Well unique u say and what I didn’t like!!! Firstly the rats everywhere toilet overflowed and blocked that’s a story!! No hot water moved rooms 4 times. So stayed 1 night and got the hell out of there. Stupid me paid upfront for 3 nights and after complaining they only gave me a refund on 1 night instead of 2. Do not stay there.

Location is wonderful, so much within walking distance of the resort. The pools were great, as were the surrounding grounds/gardens. The first rooms they had given us were terrible, very old, no hot water, fridge didn’t work & A/C wasn’t great, they happily relocated us to the “newer” rooms, which were more satisfactory

Happy with our room that we ended up in and paying additional for. But booked 6mths earlier and had to wait over an hour to get our room at 1am in the morning. Pools badly need maintenance

Amazing place to stay. Sandwiched between road and beach so nice and quiet inside resort. Great location. Easy walk to markets, restaurants and beach bars out front. Great swimming pool.

Pool walls dirty

The staff is friendly but the hotel very old and dirty, AC didnt work, we couldnt sleep because too hot. Well, very disappointed

The property hads deteriorated extremely....it has 3 pools and the 2 main ones were not safe to swim in for 2 weeks....the water was green. Paid for breakfast but had to eat out....food was slop....dining room deserted at night...guests go elsewhere.

Not sure where to start. Booked 7 nights. Our group had 4 rooms total. We stayed 4 only because 4 people in our group were flying home after 3 so waiting 1 last night. We had paid for an up grade then paid more for another up grade. First room was dirty. I’m sure we had dirty sheets. As the pillow had red ink on it and so did the pillow protector and so did the pillow case. What are the odds of that happening. Also found a an open bag of popcorn in a cupboard. Dried toothpaste on the basin. Our friends had no water and toilet didn’t flush and asked to change rooms they upgraded them and then phoned them to pay more. Great location but that’s it. Not good at all.

For the money and location it’s fine

The tooms are very outdated and smell very mouldy had to change rooms 3 times second room had no running water eberuthing leaks air conditionimg puddles on floors. I hadnt eaten all day so decided to order some spring rolls from the omsote restaurant 2 hoirs later i jad food poisoning which was conformed at local hospital. The melasti is cheap and a great location bit unless they spend some money the place should be comdemmed

Don't know when they last spent money on this place. Run down. Broken tiles in the pool. Hot water takes forever to get hot. Needs a good coat of paint. Breakfast not hot. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Staff were wonderful, some of the rooms could do with a bit of an update but overall loved staying at the Melasti. Would recommend to other travellers.

The staff were loving and wonderful people never had a problem with anyone there whenever I needed something they were always there to be at my service and help me in anyway they can I will for sure come back again. Kostadinoff family.

The location amazing, staff very friendly, breakfast was efficient, the pools are good. If you are after a resort without all the trimmings, this is it. It's run down and needs a lot of work. Some days we wouldn't have enough towels provided and it would take all day for any request to be met, there's also huge H&S red flags with wires hanging around the place, the balconies have a gap wide enough for someone to fall through (we had 2 kids and were on level 3) so had to heavily barricade this area ourselves. I hope someone spruces the place up because it has a lot of potential. The cottages out the front seem a lot nicer. Personally we won’t stay again but met a lot of families who come back religiously so there is a market for those who don't mind this sort of accom.

Resort is run down. Service from staff at reception was very slack. The breakfast was average. Would not stay again.

Property is good value for money. While we were there it was very evident that a lot of work is being done. We stayed in a suite and the rooms are massive. The bathrooms definitely need some refreshing and then these rooms would be amazing. You could see then working through rooms one by one doing bathroom works so perhaps request an updated room. The location is great; beach at the front with beach bars and warungs and shopping and restaurants at the back. Two swim up bar areas. Pools could also do with some work but water is clean and warm. Overall a good place to stay and will be amazing when the work is complete.

Home away from home. Older style resort. Bathrooms could do with a little modernising, but other than that, couldn't fault it. Staff are so friendly. The squirrels are adorable. And the location is central to everything. 20/10! Loved it!

Great area to stay, close to everything. Pools great although they need a good clean, can see dirty tiles on bottom of pool. Garden nice and relaxing. Rooms need some maintenance, water pressure is not good. WiFi poor in some rooms, needed to go outside. Although there is some maintenance issues this hotel is good for the price.

Fantastic location. Good value for the price (au$67 per night in delux cottage). Great to see a lot of work happening around the venue to rejuvunate it.
