Best bang for your buck in Bali

Very comfortable cozy room with a great shower. We slept like babies. Loved the rooftop restaurant and pool, and super affordable. Restaurant was great!

Cute little hotel

Very conveniently located amidst restaurants, shops and convenience stores. Friendly staff. Good bar in the rooftop restaurant that has decent food options too.

The hotel was at very good location inside the market. There was a buffet in the morning breakfast. One of the best food served out of 4 hotels I stayed. Room was cleaned. Only problem felt water provided was not enough and had to go on 4th floor to refill. Overall, it was a good stay.

Can easily access places to go out, shop, eat, and do self care services. Laundry services available at this hotel with additional fee.

Max One was exactly what we needed in Ubud. Great staff, room was kept clean, and lovely pool on the roof. Morning breakfast was nice, but I wish they had bacon and eggs as an option.

This place is amazing for the price. Clean and spacious rooms on the main street of Ubud. I never felt that it was noisy or busy. Staff are friends and always available. We'll definitely be back.

Great pool! Acceptable location. Guest rooms were adequate except for an urgent need to service or replace air conditioning vents. I could not use the air con in my guest room as it gave me a cough within just an hour of running it! I resorted to opening a window on the 3rd floor without too many mosquitoes flying in.

The hotel itself was clean and decent. But my experience with the staff left a sour taste in my mouth-by far the worst of my stay in Bali wouldn’t stay again.

Good times in Ubud

The hotel was in a great location. Staff was friendly and even drove us to a dinner spot. Room was clean and comfortable. I would have liked to have a fridge in the room though.

We stay here for 3 days 2 night. Thanks for upgrading our room! It’s big and clean! Location very convenient, full of cafe shop, bar, fashion, and spa massage store! Please improve the breakfast as the food is not heat up. Overall value for money.

Excellent location and the rooftop pool is fantastic. It's a very busy hotel which made it noisy at times but is ideal for a short stay.

Decent stay for price, excellent location

Location is perfect, walking distance to lots of great restaurants and pubs and attractions like the Monkey Forest. The hotel itself is a little tired. The photos online definitely give an impression of a “newer” and better condition place. But it is decent for the price and beds were comfortable. Unfortunately we were put in room 001, first floor right by reception/lobby and it was super loud at all times! So if you want a good sleep I’d recommend asking for a room on second or third floor or away from the front reception area as people come and go at all hours. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Roof top pool is great!

Good as a base

Food was a bit average and they ran out of Bintang the first night we were there then every other time we got it, it was warm. There is not much room to sit by the pool either if there are other people up there. Was a good place to base ourselves out of though, we ate at the panorama restaurant just down the road and that was amazing. There is a lot of cool places around the hotel which was a plus. The bathroom is glass walls though and although they were frosted you could still see the other person showering which was awkward as I was travelling with a friend.

You get what you pay for

Pros: -Close to everything -Pleasant and helpful staff -Charming decor -Nice rooftop pool and dining room -Guestrooms are spacious Cons: -linens and towels are discolored/stained/smell -little ant-like bugs in the room/bed -sewage smell in bathroom -bathroom is dirty with stained toilet -walls are thin. I could hear my neighbour coughing and chairs from the roof top being moved -terrible breakfast This hotel has a lot of potential, if only they would put effort into cleanliness and the breakfast buffet. I arrived at 2am and was given a room with bugs on the bathroom counter and in the bed. When I called front desk to complain, I was told to wait until 8am to speak to a manager and switch rooms. Naturally I was upset, but very exhausted from 30 hours of travel. Later that morning I switched rooms but no discount or refund was given. This was disappointing. My new room had an awful sewage smell in the bathroom. The toilet was stained and had mildew all over the tile. The towels were discolored/stained and smelled like mildew. The bedding was also discoloured. The breakfast is bad. The food is cold and dry. The pancakes tasted like they were just removed from the fridge and served without reheating. The buffet selection is a mix of random food: bbq chicken, fried rice, bread, pancakes, fish, etc. This hotel is ideal for maybe one night, if you’re lucky enough to get a clean bug free room.

Maxone Stay

The Max One is relatively new, in a good location, our room was modern, clean with comfortable beds. The rooftop swimming pool was the highlight. My daughter loved this. The staff were efficient but not overly friendly. The breakfast was confusing as we initially were not aware that you could also order freshly cooked eggs to accompany the buffet items. A sign on tables or next to buffet would remedy this. Hotel caters for 20s- 30s age group. We would stay again if staying in Ubud.

Great hotel had everything you could wish for. Great location was right in the middle of all the places you could wish to visit around Ubud

Nice hotel in the central Ubud

Max One hotel is a lovely little gem in heart of Ubud! Looks very small from the outside but once your in, you’ll see it’s large and top class. All the staff here were do friendly & helpful, helping us with laundry, transfers to our next adventure. Our room was a standard happiness room, it was beautiful and clean, with a massive massive bed!! (So so comfortable) we had hot water all time, and fresh towels were provided. The tv was great too with lots of English speaking channels. Fast and efficient air con at the switch of a button. Only thing in I think we would have liked was a balcony.

My Review

Great Property overall! Needs management improvement. A. WiFi kicks you out ever 15 minute. I did complain after so many days. They fixed the problem for me but not for their guests. B. Swimming pool needs to be maintained as a dirty swimming pool can be a serious health hazard. I had to bother them 4 days regarding this matter. Staff are very sweet. Property has a great potential if they get the management together. The General Manager needs to act like he or she cares.

Great budget hotel, good location & friendly staff. Room was very spacious & bed super comfy. Breakfast was pretty basic but was enough to fill me up for the day. Really enjoyed my stay here & would stay again!

We were very happy with this place. Easy location for everything in ubud, wonderful staff, beautiful pool and fantastic breakfast. They were doing construction next door in afternoons and a dam rooster starts at 6am but other it was great

Amazing hotel for the price. Great location right on the main road with plenty imof restaurants nearby. The wifi connetion was great. I suggest getting the free breakfast. I didnt and I regretted it immensely and paid the 75000 for two mornings. The hotel is very modern and lovely pool. Lots of tv channel options as well.

Good deal, but sacrifice some quality.

Great location, not bad for price. But definitely a little worse than we expected from pics and reviews. Cheaply made rooms, pretty noisy, so so breakfast, so so staff.... had to ask for toilet paper and towels after the room was already cleaned...they change towels out every other day which is good for the environment, but they forgot to change them.

If you're looking for a young and modern place to stay in Ubud for a low nightly rate, Maxone is the right place for you. Everything was new and clean but our room smelled a little funny. Breakfast was so so but totally OK for the price.

Average stay

This would have been a fantastic stay if it weren't for a few silly things. Our t.v did not work in the room, this took a day to fix and the engineer was in our room till 10pm then woke us at 8am to try again! The wifi is just terrible, even trying to do something as simple as sending a message was out of the question most of the time. Very frustrating when you are trying to arrange trips and activities. The last thing was the noise. I know they cannot help outside works but the banging starts between 7 and 8am and lasts all day. Not exactly relaxing. Apart from this the room is nice and the staff very sweet and helpful.

Bontique hotel with a nice roof top

The hotel is ok - what you get is what you paid for. I think if the hotel can supply coffee n tea facilities plus hand towels will be nice. Has a nice rood top.

Great place to stay in Ubud! Value for money!!

The hotel is located fairly central. You can walk to Yoga Barn or Ubud Yoga Centre and even the Ubud market is within a comfortable walking distance (20 min?) Really comfy hotel with a cool view during breakfast. Food is not the greatest but you're in Ubud - there are tons of cafes and restaurants nearby!! Really clean space. Reception people are nice when they are there...there were a few times they weren't around (like when we came to collect our bags...)

Good hotel

The staffs are nice and helpful. The swimming pool is clean. But it's a bit far from the Main Street. It takes 15-20 mins walk.

Nice hotel but management could be better

The hotel was clean and modern with quirky monkey pictures on the walls. The location was good and there were good views on the rooftop. However we found there were never enough towels provided by the pool and the breakfast food was always cold. We even tried eating when the breakfast started but it was barely even warm. Also, twice after our room had been cleaned, we came back to find the bathroom smelling like someone had been smoking in it. Considering there are signs outside the rooms and in the rooms saying no smoking, this was highly unprofessional. Also they do not have a room service menu in your room (or any kind of information booklet) so if you want to order food, you have to use the phone to get someone to bring you the menu and then take it away again.

Overall a nice Ubud hotel.

Overall the hotel was very pleasant. The open-air restaurant on the roof was a nice respite from the traffic on the streets. My only two complaints are 1) there are no in-room safes, which should be standard, and 2) the pool water was a hideously filthy green. Nice location, just on the edge of the main part of Ubud.

Good Hotel average service

Maxone is a new hotel in a good location that is at the start of the town ubud. Hotel was good but however unfortunately when we arrived at the hotel they only had two single beds available for us and we have booked the double. The weren't interested in changing the room as the hotel was apparently booked out. We had to sleep with the beds pulled together that was very uncomfortable.

Great value for a great price

This hotel is new, in excellent condition. For a less than $30/day, it is worth booking. The room can be a little crampy but comfortable overall. The balcony is a common balcony for the entire first floor. There is no balcony for the upper floors. The pool on the rooftop is beautiful though the water was cloudy when we were there. Breakfast is typical of Bali hotel breakfast: nasi goreng with some type if meat, steamed veggies, fresh fruits and eggs on demand. Not the best breakfast but not the worst either. Location is great. 15mn walk to monkey forrest, many restaurant right outside the hotel. If you are going to Ubud on a budget, this is your hotel. I hope they maintain it well through the years.

Everything was just perfect. Hotel is new and the staffs are all friendly. The rooftop pool was great and the view are good.

Good hotel good location would stay again

Lovely hotel in a busy city. Beautiful pool on the rooftop although could do with more sun loungers & umbrellas for shade. Breakfast had a very good selection but could do with being warmer although you can order freshly cooked eggs when you arrive. Rooms were very comfortable with a very comfortable bed & pillows. We paid extra for a door which we thought would have lead out to a balcony but it was only a small space with a wall & no where to sit. Location was good although a good 20 minute walk to monkey forest road where you will find plenty of bars & restaurants. Be aware that the pavement can be tricky to navigate as there are many holes that could be very easy to fall into but we managed ok with the torches on our phones. Overall would recommend as a good Base to explore Ubud & beyond.

New, Modern and Clean Hotel

MaxOne is a new and modern Hotel in Ubud with a nice swimming pool on the top floor. The room was clean, well maintained, and services were good for the price. I found all the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, with the exception of one grumpy girl at the restaurant. The first day, she says the restaurant is closed in the evening because there is no chef (!!!). On one of the mornings for breakfast, she tells me she can't give me eggs for 20mins-30mins because the chef was busy with the buffet. Mind you, on all other mornings of my 5-night stay, all the other staff brought me eggs when I requested with no problem. Any ways, besides this one grumpy girl, the rest of the staff more than made up for her. They even packed me a take-away breakfast when I had a 6:30 a.m. pick-up (although it wasn't ready until almost 7 and fortunately my pick-up was late too). The hotel is about a 15-20 min. walk in to where most of the shops and restaurants are, although there are 2 very popular and good restaurants within a 2-min. walk - Mamma Mia and Taco Casa. Wi-fi in room was satisfactory.

Close to the Bali spirit fest

The noise was unbelievable. Unless being woken up every morning to dragging furniture over your head is something you like. Then avoid this hotel. The cleaning staff was absolutely clueless. No toilet paper. I had to go to the front desk to ask for water. It's really not that complicated.

Clean and modern hotel in the centre of Ubud

This hotel ticked all of the boxes for me. It was new and clean with comfortable beds, great AC and a strong shower. Breakfast was also included. The staff were extremely nice and helpful as well. While this is not a five star establishment, it's perfect as a base for exploring the city and a great place to rest your head. I'd go back!

Excellent location

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean new rooms. Swimming pool on top deck is spectacular! The service at the rooftop bar/restaurant was sometimes a bit slow...but all in all a wonderful experience...

Beskrivelsen passer ikke til ho(s)tellet. Måtte skifte værelse 3 gange pga larm, myrer i sengetøj og aircon der ikke virkede. Ekstremt ringe morgenmadsbuffet. Hold jer fra frokostretterne - personalet, som dog er venligt, kan simpelthen ikke lave mad. Rooftop pool rigtig fin, som det eneste.

Lage und der Infintiy-Pool war ideal. Einrichtung unsere Zimmer war genial! Würde es allen empfehlen, die nach Ubud kommen.

It is a 'simple' and rather modern than traditional, neat and clean place, and the rooms fit well for the needs of one of us who is in a wheel chair, but can still walk very few steps. The staff is very kind, and as we had booked two rooms for ten nights each four months in advance, we received one free laundry service each. We would again stay here.

too many ants!

The staff are very kind and well positioned. The pool is beautiful, but the room is not good. Too many ants, too much sunlight, no ventilation. No refrigerator in the room. I stayed for three nights and I do not want to come back.

Buon rapporto qualità prezzo

L'hotel è in un'ottima posizione, su una via piena di negozi, distante 5 minuti a piedi dalla monkey Forest e circa 15 minuti dal centro di Ubud. Le camere si trovano ai primi tre piani, mentre al quarto piano c'è una terrazza panoramica, con piscina, dove al mattino viene servita la colazione. Il personale è gentile e sempre a disposizione. La camera non è enorme ma è moderna e funzionale per il momento in buone condizioni. La doccia è potente e funziona benissimo. La colazione è a buffet, con una vasta scelta per i piatti salati, un po' meno per quelli dolci, purtroppo per prendere la marmellata di fragole lottare con le vespe, ma è davvero buona e ne vale la pena. La piscina è carina e sempre molto pulita, la terrazza è perfetta per vedere il tramonto.

war ein recht schöner aufenthalt, länger als 2/3 nächte würde ich es jedoch nicht empfehlen. frühstück ok, zimmer ok, pool ok lage in ubud sehr gut

Hotel decentrato per il centro di Ubud, circa 20 minuti a piedi, cmq con ristoranti e servizi a poca distanza. La camera è adeguata come dimensione ma la pulizia potrebbe essere più accurata, specialmente la biancheria da letto con federe macchiate e puzzolenti. Gli ambienti comuni sono belli come la piscina e la terrazza. La colazione non è adeguata per gli europei tanto che volevamo farla fuori. Pochissima scelta di dolce e la marmellata era invasa dalle api percui inarrivabile. Mettere confezioni monoporzione risolverebbe la cosa. Il personale è gentile. Offrono trattamenti es. Massaggi a prezzi esagerati rispetto a quello che si trova fuori. Sinceramente per il prezzo pagato mi aspettavo di più.

Moderný hotel uprostred ubudu

Hotel bol krásny, moderný, novo vybudovaný. Bazén na streche s výhľadom na Ubud bol čerešničkou na torte. Personál milý a ochotný pomôcť a vyriešiť akúkoľvek požiadavku. Nemali problém s ničím. Jedine co by som odporúčal hotelu upraviť je, aby do kúpeľne nainštalovali dvere do sprchy. Po osprchovani bola polovica kúpeľne mokrá.

Hôtel sur la grande rue. Toujours du trafic. Déjeuner : ça ne vaut pas la peine de payer pour ce déjeuner. Ce n’est pas mangeable. Aucun coffre de sécurité, ni séchoir dans la chambre. Aucun frigo. Il a fallu appeler pour avoir des serviettes car le housekeeping en ont pas mis. Belle piscine. Alcool dispendieuse. Décevant pour le prix. Tu payes pour l’emplacement.
