We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The service was excellent, with attentive and professional staff. The hotel was very clean, and the bathroom towels were changed twice a day, which was a great plus. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The location is also ideal: close to the train station, with a few good restaurants nearby and major attractions within a 30-minute walk. Everything was perfect, and if we return to Rome, we will definitely stay at this hotel again!
Most comfortable bed I’ve had. Lovely staff. Great walking location. Clean. Would stay here again!
Room was bigger than expected. Good location
Poor. Poor internet connectivity. Was not able to connect or stay connected at all . We where traveling from the USA so WiFi connection is important to us keep conditions with family members. No parking Spase available at all. Inconvenience and expensive to perk the car 2 blocks away on the 3 rd level underground . Paid 40 Euros per day bus was unable to used the car.
We stayed first 3 nights at the luxury side of the Mascagni hotel and enjoyed it. Last night we booked at the other side (non-luxury side) and hated it. We booked a family room and they put us in a Triple room on the first floor (aka as 2nd floor in the US). Up all night due to traffic outside the window, shower tub is small, room is small with very limited counter space. I recommend the luxury side and stay away from the non-upgraded side of the Mascagni Hotel. Breakfast on both sides are good. Location is great. Staff is helpful.
Great location
Elderly ladies room had no air conditioning. It was over 90 degrees in their room. Hotel staff stated: "Maintenance had already left for the day and they had already given out all of their portable fans." I tried desperately to get a different room at a different hotel but all were sold out. It was a miserable night and no compensation was offered or even an apology. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Stay across the street!
Superb location, very helpful staff, wonderful breakfast.
Hotel Mascagni - Roma
First visit to Rome. This hotel was adequate for our needs, but far outshined by the hotels we chose in Florence and Venice. The location was decent enough, near dining and shopping options. Very close to the train station, which was a plus. I'll give the Hotel Mascagni a solid B-
The rooms were roomy and very clean. Breakfast was great. Very convenient to Termini, but no rail noise. Staff was efficient and friendly.
Room was just what I needed and I had a nice window which welcomed the sun and cool breeze. The hotel in a great walking location from all of Rome’s main attractions but not in the heart where it becomes noisy. The breakfast buffet has many good options. Only downside would be the walls are thin so if you’re next to a loud person you can hear them talking. I had to deal with that but other than that, I would definitely stay. The staff are lovely
This property was easy to find and convenient. The staff was attentive and friendly.
Mascagni never disappoints
The Mascagni never disappoints, while the rooms the traditional hotel are starting to show their age it’s a charming experience with great attentive service and an abundant breakfast.
Beautiful hotel! Exceptional customer service. Very good experience overall!,
It was good in general, but the rooms are small and the bed is not comfortable and there is a divider between two small beds. The location was perfect. In addition, your reservation indicated that the check-out time is at 12:00, while the hotel check-out time is at 11:00. This caused me some trouble leaving for the airport. The hotel claims that there is an error in the hotel.com website.
Hello, was good experience, the hotel it’s in a very good area, like it a lot, can walk around a lot places in 20 or les minutes walking, the only far it’s a Vatican City but other than that can walk anywhere, breakfast was good more than I was expecting, very good service.
Hotel is very nice, but overly priced
Long bath water cannot drained. Room are old and need to change carpet etc..
The hotel was great for what we needed. Laundry services were in walking distance, it reminds me of a boutique style hotel.
Horrible service [beware of ATTIC ROOM]
Arrived 1 hr early rooms were not ready, "ok no problem we'll walk around and come back" Get back to the hotel only to find out all 3 rooms I booked were not close to each other and my room was literally the last room on the 5th floor which the elevator does not go to and you have to walk up 5 flights of stairs to entire the "Attic room" extremly small room, AC apparently does NOT work, the room was not equipped with charging ports as the other rooms AND to top it off the water in the shower did not to down. I literlly pulled out a handful of hair [blonde] absolutely not mine and the water still wouldnt go down. I asked 3 people at the desk to change rooms and even offered to pay more for a better room and i was advised that all rooms were booked. As i stood at the desk i noticed several people checking in AFTER me and they were given rooms. < why wasnt a better room offered to us if people had not checked in yet!?!? I absolutely will not stay here again. 1st time in Rome with my family and completely hated this hotel..
Nice property with a spacious room for 3. located close to the train station. Easy walking distance to many good restaurants and sites. We would stay here again if in Rome.
The staff were very professional and helpful. My room was spacious.
The condition of the hotel is not a 4 star. Rooms are small (the hotel has original rooms vs . renovated rooms). Original rooms are very small. had overflow bath. Stayed in a room on the street side, lots noise. Had false alarm at 2am. Breakfast and location is good, and staff is friendly.
Best location and best service!!!!!
Service is spectacular. Greeted with a big smiles and welcoming gestures. However, hotel is old, but spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed staying there.
This hotel has an excellent location. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was satisfactory.
Location, organized, friendly
The staff and accommodation were both excellent
Good location near the train station.. 10 minutes walk to trevi fountain..
A beautiful room, very confortable, nice bathroom, friendly and helpful staff
Great Hotel. Location is a plus nearby attractions , restaurants. Friendly staff. Breakfast very good
Third Visit
Very basic yet clean hotel option.
Personable staff who are willing to make suggestions and help. Clean hotel with everything needed. Breakfast Close walk to Roma Termini which is great to get to and from airport as well as the central station for the metro. Very walkable to big tourist attractions.
Wonderful staff and great location.
The best option in Rome, thank you Luciano, would definitely come back again
The epitome of genuine warmth and helpfulness
From the minute I arrived, I was greeted with a warm and helpful smile. Totally genuine, this hotel has truly great staff and is the epitome of how I was treated in this magical city for 5 days. My room and the common areas were always spotless, everyone was incredibly helpful. I chose this hotel because it has great metro links, is a short walk or metro ride from the Termini, is close to the opera, the colosseum and pretty much anywhere on the east side of the river.
Lovely Stay in a great location
Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast and just generally good value for money.
Good breakfast
Good location, good breakfast, friendly staff
Hotel & location was great only thing negative the smell in the room was overwhelming like a sewer stinch
Very nice and pleasant experience. The entire staff was very welcoming and courteous. We got an upgraded room and although we arrived early, the room was made available to for us right away and very clean. Everything was made for us to make our short stay as pleasant as possible.
Very clean!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Ideally located for railway terminal and sightseeing
very very good hotel..very clean.exellent location...very good staf...evry thing perfect
Mascagni Hotel - Best Hotel in Rome.
Second time I have stayed at the Mascagni hotel and will definitely be back. Staff is the best and top notch, always friendly and the hotel is perfectly located with Metro and Train Terminal 1-2 blocks away. Also, many sights in walking distance. Breakfast and breakfast staff is best in Rome.
Professional staff helpfull and attentive ,i may stay again if i can
Another Great stay at the Mascagni
I travel frequently to Rome and always stay at the Mascagni, for its good location, outstanding service and good value. It was as always a nice stay
Rooms don’t look like the picture. Bathroom water drainage was poor. Staff was great, breakfast was very good and the staff there was excellent. Very good location.
Rooms disappointing but good breakfast & good location
Overall very good. Only flaw: TV was unplugged (both current and cable), I had ti plug it in.
This is definitely NOT a four star hotel, I do not know how they managed to get that rating. The bathtub was clogged, the bathroom smelled bad, the flush tank was leaking, the headboards and the beds were wobbly and uncomfortable, and except for a couple staff the rest were not welcoming.
No go we won’t be back nuff said okay thanks The entire property is old and odd. The staff that we talked with some more great and some more confused and I’m afraid some or deceptive
The property is Modern, with large rooms, clean and great central location.
We arrived and were told there was an error made with our reservation. They had already arranged to send us right across the street to a nearby 5-star hotel for the night. The porter helped us with our luggage and our room was ready at the other hotel. Everything was handled very professionally. I did not review the property particulars as we never saw them this trip!
Great location & Excellence service. Very good wifi and great breakfast. Bathroom was small but very clean, though the arrangement between the toilet, bidet and bath tub were a bit too close to each other, made it a bit tight to get through. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Will recommend this hotel.
Great hotel, friendly staff, easy to get to from Roma Termini railway station. A fair distance out from the tourist sites in central Rome, but still walkable.
This hotel is close to the Piaza Republica and Termini station. Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean. Easy to access a bus to points of interest. Excellent breakfast with attentive staff. Plenty of nice restaurants close by.
Very centrally located and welcoming staff. Great breakfast and wonderful rooms.
Its a nice hotel with good location (10 mins walk from rome termini...2 mins walk from nearest metro station..15 mins walk from major attraction)...The hotel size is very good and clean and renovated and mine was with a nice balcony...the room service is good and the breakfast was nice but not too much options...the staff was nice especially at the restaurant..i had a problem during check-in due to overbooking but they send me to another nearby hotel for one night but not the same level but it was ok as they paid my taxi and they offer a propper appologise...The guys at the reception needs to smile to guests little bit 😂😂...i recommed this hotel..
Fantastic hotel 10mins walk from Rome Termini. We arrived early and luckily our room was available so we could check in. We could leave our bags with them on the day of check out and collected later. Fantastic air conditioning in the room which was really welcome on such hot August days. Fantastic selection of fruit, breads, cakes, scrambled egg and sausages for breakfast. Some fantastic restaurants nearby and of course the Colosseum within easy walking distance. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
The excellent service, location and the rooms very clean and confortable
Major black mold problem in Bathroom. Smelled and looked bad. Should never have rented this room and management, knowing the very apparent deficiency, did it anyway. Originally advised could not refund me for two additional nights until they spoke to manager the next day. After I told them that was not acceptable, subsequently the agreed in writing to refund me for the two additional nights. Still waiting on refund. Should have been compensated for the one night I stayed. Made my family sick. Needed us out ASAP so they could rent to some other victim. Terrible inconvenience. Hotel stuck in 1970's and in dire need of renovation. Very disappointed.
Arrved and learned at desk our room was given away. Overbooked and with scant apology they sent us to another hotel which in which we had a tiny room. Miaserable manager at Mascagbi Hotel. "We have another hotel room for you. You will like it," We did NOT
Excellent location. Walking distance to all attractions and train station. Nice room, very good breakfast.
Old school professional service, excellent breakfast and great location in the city.
Nice hotel with staff very helpful. Taxi ride to Coliseum was about 10 euro and the Vatican Museums was less than 14 euro.
This hotel was fantastic. Room was clean, comfortable and very quite. Hotels location is very convenient to all attractions either by walking or trains. Staff gave great recommendations for dinner. I will definitely stay here again.
This hotel had great location and it was a very nice hotel. Staff was friendly. Very happy with the stay
I like the friendly/helpful staff and location close to transportation, restaurants and sightseeing. I wish that there was a facility to do one’s laundry. I may have missed it.
Location of the property with respect to tourist attractions, train/metro station, dining, and shopping. Pleasant service meted out by hotel staff.
Plesure
The hotel is clean and nice but the room is quite old
We were so happy that we stayed here! The staff is so amazing — friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious and we really appreciated that we could fill up in the morning before heading out for the whole day seeing the city! I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Mascagni was ideally located for us and cosy. We didn't want to have a large impersonal hotel.
Right in the center of city, walking distance to metro(train) and few other amenities.
Another Great stay at the Mascagni-
I frequently visit Rome and the Mascagni is where I stay always a high quality and great value for the money hotel
Great hotel in a good location and excelent staff, who provided us excelent service and recommendations.
They have excellent service and a great breakfast variety!
Perfect location, no complaints. Would definitely stay here again. Don’t forget about the added city tax when your leaving.
This property is located very near the train station. We were able to walk to most sites within 30 minutes. The hotel was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff was so attentive and helpful. We loved the breakfast buffet! Everything about our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel without reservations.
Exceptional Service
Fantastic stay in a lovely city hotel where the service was exceptional.
Hotel was very centrally located and very clean that’s where it ends. Beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, pillows were terrible. Breakfast is ok. Choices are limited and coffee tasted like it was instant. Can you imagine in Rome ?Furniture and decor is extremely dated. 2 of the 3 front desk staff were anything but friendly. Waiters at breakfast were lovely. Shower head was great but water sits in the shower up to you ankles and doesn’t drain.
They moved my reservation to a different, lesser hotel because they had overbooked.
Property is located in the of the hearth of the city , Walking distance to fountain of trevi. Spanish steps
It's a short walk from the Termini station. Walkable, but easy with trunks. However, it is near to many hot spots in Rome, so I cannot complain about the location. Room was clean and in excellent conditions. Staff was friendly. I stayed in the annex building but it was good as well. I will stay here again definitely.
Good situation close to the Termini Station and close to Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Good hotel at good location. Breakfast is good and good hospitality.
Great location and Staff. Breakfast was great and the servers attentive.
,Very helpful reception staff the breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The Hotel was central to walk to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.
Very nice hotel in a great location, friendly staff and great breakfast!!
excelent service.especialy luciano who helped me.also luis good man. thank you!!!
Very nice, clean, old-world charm in a convenient location. Helpful staff, reasonably priced and safe. The Mascagni makes a good “home base” for exploring all the things you want to see in Rome.
Well situated
Friendly helful staff clean roons and wasy to walk to attractions
Central Hotel
We had a very comfortable stay. The porter showed us to our room and was very helpful in hailing taxi's when we needed them. All of the staff from the cleaners to the barman and the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
Friendly staff
Fabulous hotel staffs - toilets problem that needs to be addressed twice .
Great hotel and location
We stayed at The Mascagni for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is in an excellent location, 5-10 minute walk from the Grand Termini train/coach station and a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Rome and all the sights, shops and restaurants. On checking in we were met by the wonderful staff on reception who were very polite and happy to help. The room was a spacious double on the 5th floor with ensuite facilities and a minibar. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty with both a hot and cold buffet, again nothing was too much trouble for the staff. On returning to the hotel each day to freshen up the staff were genuinely interested when asking you how your day had gone. The hotel does not serve evening meals but there are a number of lovely restaurants and bars within walking distance. Our favourite was the Alessio and no more than 10 minutes walk away. On returning to the hotel each evening we enjoyed a drink in the bar. Again the staff were very helpful and happy to talk about your day without being pushy or nosey. Overall we loved our stay at The Mascagni and would highly recommend it to anybody who is thinking of staying here.
The place is close to Roma Termini. They have a 24 hour staff who will hold your keys when you go out so you’re not carrying it while enjoying the sights of Rome. The breakfast is good and their waiters are dressed up and are very friendly. One of them successfully convinced me to have a cappucino and it was delicious! I would definitely stay here again when i come back to Rome!
This hotel is conveniently located in central Rome equidistant from all attractions such as Vatican and Colosseum area. Front desk was extremely helpful in booking excursions and sharing local knowledge. The restaurant had very good breakfast. The rooms were large and WiFi was fast and reliable. I recommend this hotel
The location is very good The hotel is very clean The breakfast is delicious
Mascagni a Wonderful, Boutique Experience in Rome!
The last time we were in Italy - 18 years ago - we stayed at the Hotel Mascagni and were thrilled to see that after all that time it still provides the personal, boutique service that we fondly remember. Fantastic location (walk to the Colosseum, Borghese Gardens and Rome Train Station). Staff are incredible (sent us a complementary bottle of Prosecco to "welcome us back" What a place. Love it. Have recommended it to many people over the years who had the same experience. When in Rome you should DEFINITELY stay here!
One rude staff to spoil the whole experience
Nice hotel, good breakfast, generally pleasant and helpful staff. Except for one very rude staff Alfred. I had booked the room for 2 persons. Upon checking in i had told the reception my husband is coming in on another flight. The reception said he will register his passport when he comes in, so not a problem. Later I went out to pick up my husband and to have dinner, coming in with him to the hotel. Tired as his flight was very delayed, we strolled past the reception to the lift lobby. Very loudly Alfred who was at the reception shouted for my name and asked that Mr registered. We were chatting and had forgotten to stop in the small lobby. Not a problem, took out his passport for photocopy. We noticed Alfred was mumbling and grouchy. I asked why he seemed so unfriendly/angry about something .He said very rudely we SHOULD HAVE stopped on our own accord instead of having to be stopped by him. We were very insulted at his tone and manner. Not only had he not considered we were guests, tired and chatting & had forgotten to stop at reception, the room was anyway paid for 2 persons. What would be so difficult to speak politely or even if we had gone to the room, he could always call us for the passport. He didn't have to act like a rude cop, speaking to us as if we were criminals for not instantly stopping, arguing with us all the way to the lift. A shame Alfred ruined the otherwise good experience. The hotel should select hospitality-appropriate staff.

An excellent stay from start to finish. We had a clean, modern room with a beautiful view. The staff were excellent and there was a great breakfast. This hotel is in a lovely location, walking distance to all the major sights. I couldn’t recommend more. Thanks for making our trip so memorable.
