Excellent panoramic view of pyramids and Sphinx

One of the best panoramic views of the Sphinx and pyramids in Giza. Clear view of 8 pyramids, including the biggest three. This hotel has the highest vantage point over the shorter hotels in front. The two level restaurant on the 5th and 6th floors give you an open, unrestricted view of the entire pyramid grounds, as well as the Sphinx in front. We booked one of the 3 rooms on the 4th floor that also have a clear, unencombered view of the pyramids and Sphinx. Nice to wake up to such a view. Windows open for fresh air. Half size fridge in room, as well as kettle, coffee and tea. KFC and Pizza Hut are close by, as is the Sphinx entrance to the pyramid grounds. Drinkies, where you can buy takeout beer and other alchol is about a one km walk away. The bonus to this hotel is that whichever room you book, you can go up to the 6th floor open deck for pictures. You can also see the Wed to Sunday Sound and Light Pyramid show from the top open deck, or enclosed restaurant. Breakfast is included, and you can also enjoy lunch and dinner from the restaurant while looking out at the pyramids

Good view

This was my second time staying here and unfortunately this time was worse, little to no water pressure in the shower and the bedding was dirty. The view is amazing for the price but the hotel needs a little remodel.

The hotel has a great location, very good breakfast and has a great view in the balcony, however the building is old (all buildings are old in Giza). It's not clean, you can see hair in the beds and pillows. They didn't clean the room during our stay and we had a terrible experience the first night, they assigned us a dirty room because the hotel was full. The second and third nights were in a better room but it wasn't clean.

Worth the price

For the price this place was great! the views were amazing from the balcony and the room we stayed in. I will say they messed up on the pickup from the airport and we had to get an uber. Communication at the hotel was good but when trying to communicate over the app before we got there was terrible. Nothing I asked or tried to schedule was done correctly. Food at the restaurant was great with a view to match. I would recommend this place or stay here again. Best bang for your buck in the area.

Hello, I wanted to share a review about the Marvel stone Hotel. Ever since we arrived, they have been extremely helpful in every way, the whole staff have been very respectful, professional, and nice. The hotel its in a good location with shops and restaurants near by and the most helpful thing is that they offer parking spots or help you find a parking spot. The hotel is super clean, and have awesome view to the Gyza Pyramids. lastly, the most important thing for us was how friendly the staff are and was with us. We are thankful & highly recommended this hotel for your vacations in Cairo, Egypt.

I was really excited for this hotel during my trip to Cairo. Unfortunately the staff was extremely rude and unwelcoming. I never received the rooms I paid for and they forgot to pick me up from the airport. Everything was booked over a month in advanced. I left days before my check out. I do not recommend this hotel for solo female travelers.

Absolutely Disgusting

Absolutely filthy room checked out the same day! Hard bed, dirty restroom, hair all on the bed, tables covered with muck. I have traveled most of the Middle East, Northern Africa, Europe and to Japan and I have never seen such poor accommodations. Additionally, I have never been interrupted constantly during prayer. I want every penny back.

Horrible and dishonest management is the primary takeaway from my experience with the Marvel Stone Hotel. I made a booking at the hotel, only to be told by the desk staff that there was no availability and that Expedia had made a mistake - when I requested a refund, I was told to contact Expedia directly. Of course, Expedia will only issue a refund if the manager of the hotel approves it. Instead, upon contacting him, Expedia sent me the following message: "We have contacted Marvel Stone Hotel and they inform us that they accommodated you and transfer you to different hotel. Therefore, there is no refund approved." This is a complete lie, as that same night (through Expedia no less) I had to book the nearby Hayat Pyramids View Hotel at my own expense because I was NOT accommodated by the Marvel Stone Hotel. That the manager continues to dishonestly claim that I was accommodated is extremely frustrating and the only negative on an otherwise lovely trip. Avoid this hotel's fraudulent management, choose from one of the many other options in Giza, and have a lovely time exploring the pyramids!

Terrible experience

This hotel is a nightmare. It’s located in a very poor, dirty, and unsafe district. The houses in front of the hotel are in horrible condition and looks scary. Our room is next to the elevator. When we checked in, I asked if noise will be an issue. The font desk man said no. That was a lie. Every 5-10 minutes it was like a train crossing our room. But they refused to change us to a quieter room. The towels smell like camel, and we found grass in them. We had to shower quickly otherwise we would be left with cold water. The air conditioning did not work, so the room was cold at night. The pyramids are certainly fascinating. If you want all good memories for your Egypt trip, don’t book this hotel.

Great location. Walking distance to the Giza pyramids and fantastic view of the pyramids from the roof top. You can watch the light and sound show from the rooftop. The only downside is the approach to the hotel which is from a back ally. If you can live with that, the property is great otherwise.

Don't get the pyramid view

We paid extra for the pyramid view, but the photos they represent on hotels.com is not the room you will get. The "pyramid" view we got was more like "other old crumbly buildings and antennas and junk" view. The room was also cold. Their heating did not work. Staying in the desert in the middle of the winter can get cold at nights, even though its hot during the day. Other than that everything else was great with this hotel. Amazing and friendly staff, up to date rooms and pleasant stay. The restaurant upstairs is very nice and the food is amazing. We really loved Ahmed in the restaurant, very pleasant experience. Be careful of the con men outside. When they see you, they do not see humans, they see dollar signs. Unfortunately seeing the amazing pyramids can be stained by the pathetic con artists all around giza, and especially inside the pyramid grounds. They will try to sell you things, they will con you, they will take your pictures and ask for extreme amounts of money. We had a guy just put me on a camel without my consent and wouldnt let me get off until we paid him $30, although he claimed that Americans usually give him $500 for a camel ride. These people are all over the place like roaches and unfortunately Egypt, and the Egyptian police do not care one bit I would take a trip to another country instead of Egypt if I had to do it again because of the lowlife Egyptians. If you're going, stay one or two nights to see pyramids and get out of there

Disaster - smelt of raw sewage

Apparently no one has heard of this hotel or knows where it is so it took ages at the airport for them to direct the taxi. Then when we got closer the taxi driver still couldn’t find it even after lots of swearing, beeping and asking people so he dropped us round the corner and we had to walk there ourselves and then was shouting and screaming that he didn’t get a tip when he didn’t even get us to the hotel. Due to all the camels and horses servicing the pyramids there was lots of poo on the floor and flys around. When we got to the hotel we were a bit earlier so we went to the rooftop to get a drink whilst we waited which was beautiful I have to say, unfortunately it only got worse from here. When we got in the room they had given us a twin room even though we had requested a double room which doesn’t make as a good start to a romantic trip and then the window was so high up you couldn’t see out of it. We swear we booked a pyramid room but they claim we didn’t but the hotels.com website is pretty misleading and the photo next to our booking was of the pyramid room. The worst bit was when we went to use the bathroom and it stank of raw sewage. Apparently it couldn’t be fixed that day and double rooms couldn’t be promised and they had no other rooms. We refused to stay there and they let us stay as a nearby hotel which was a big improvement. Overall apart from the rooftop view it was a complete disaster but they did

This place is about location, you are steps from the Pyramids and the Sphinx. The view from the roof terrace is amazing ! However the condition of the hotel it's something to desire, during my stay we run out off water, power and internet. When we let them know they just had excuses for us . Other than the staff at the front desk, they barely understood English, the service was whining down the longer that you stayed. The breakfast was below average the same stuff every morning. The area is a slump, super dirty and full of beggars and really aggressive street sellers and people trying to rip you off !

The hotel is not in the condition that the online pictures display, I assume those are old pictures of when it first opened. They could do a better job with the cleanliness of the rooms, towels were dirty and it was clear the sheets had not been changed. Right next door to the Pyramids!!

Wow! Where do I begin? Just left this gorgeous boutique hotel in the heart of Giza and I still can’t believe I woke up to the view of the pyramids every morning! Staff were very helpful and one person, in particular, went above-and-beyond to provide quality customer service. Though all of the staff were helpful and friendly, Ferris made sure my friend and I were taken care of. If you’re looking for a place that provides you with the comfort of home away from home, this is the place. The only problem, which was very small, was that the WiFi was pretty slow. It’s ok though because the staff and the unique area surrounding the hotel kept us pretty entertained. I can’t wait to return! I’m so happy we ditched the fancy hotels in Cairo and decided to stay at Marvel Stone! Special thanks to Ferris and the Marvel Stone staff!

The outstanding features of the property are the staff, the location and their rooftop deck which directly overlooks the pyramids and sphinx. The hotel itself and the rooms are fine and no worry - clean, safe and functional and waking up and looking directly onto the pyramids isn't a bad way to start one's day (note: if a name brand hotel with associated amenities is critical then you may want to stay at the brand you prefer). For me, I was in Giza to visit the pyramids, Saqqara and other historically significant locations in Giza, and therefore the Marvel Stone was an excellent choice because as we discovered, you want to be close to what interests you in Giza/Cairo as the traffic can be brutal. What really made our stay though was the hotel staff (with a special call out to Ahmed Fares who took great care to make sure we were taken care of during our visit). Every evening we would hang out on the rooftop deck, watch the Sphinx light and sound show, and enjoy the evening looking directly onto the illuminated pyramids. There isn't a lot of "nightlife" in Giza so having their deck at your disposal including pool table was huge, and the staff went out of their way to take care of us (Ahmed even arranged and then picked up dinner from local restaurants for us - which was good cause otherwise I'd still be wandering the streets of Giza trying to find my way back).

Hotel is in great location however had been overbooked (by about 20 rooms in accordance with reception). Hotel did not notify us that our room had already been booked until after we had arrived, paid and asked for the room keys (1.30am). We were moved to another hotel despite booking well in advance and called through to reconfirm our arrival details also in advance. please call in advance to ensure you are getting the room in the hotel you have booked. the 'sister/extension' hotel was amazing and super accommodating however a cheaper hotel than the Marvel Stone and a bit further back from the pyramids. Marvel stone were apologetic however should have notified us at the time of the original booking or at any time leading up to the stay that no room in the hotel was available and given us the opportunity to agree to the hotel change or look for another.

Caution when booking!

CAUTION when booking! One reviewer said he/she never got to stay at the hotel because something was wrong with the plumbing. We also did not get to stay at hotel because the hotel said it was forced to close an entire floor. We arrived at 9 pm at night, and had no other choice but to stay at the hotel they took us to, which was POOR quality compared to the Marvel photos. Another person arriving at the same time we did was also taken to the alternate hotel. I would have tried to make a reservation at an alternate, nicer hotel, but I was unable to get internet access. It was late at night and I was exhausted from traveling. Two days later, we were up at 5 am for a tour and noticed a large group of individuals checking into our hotel because Marvel could not accommodate them. If you book here, be prepared with a backup choice of where you would like to stay in the event they are unable to accommodate you.

Ideal location to Giza pyramids and sphinx. Awesome views from rooftop breakfast area. Room and beds reasonably comfortable and staff helpful. However the immediate area outside hotel smelly due to horse stables. Areas ok out and beyond. Room and bathroom floors not clean with dust, hair balls and puddle despite request to clean.

The most amazing views of the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Very new, clean, modern rooms with a great rooftop terrace overlooking the most amazing view of the Giza Pyramids/Sphinx - all whilst enjoying a lovely breakfast or a coffee, or anytime meal. Best part is the Light and Sound Show can be seen and heard for free every night from above - fabulous. Central to local eateries - Pizza Hut/KFC for us Westerners and lots of Egyptian places to try also. Hotel is down an alleyway which does smell of horse/camel as the animals are boarded in a square around from hotel but no problems part of the culture and charm. When we arrived after a 30 hour flight, we were disappointed that our pyramid view room wasn't available that night and would only be available the following night, they did offer us a larger room or the choice to move to another hotel with pyramid view for one night, we were too tired so settled for the larger room with no views at a discounted rate.

Excellent value for money

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to the pyramids and Sphinx. ATM, KFC and Pizza Hut nearby. Do not be put off by the local area, this is basically living with the locals. The best thing about staying in this hotel is the awesome view of the pyramids and the Sphinx from the rooftop. An added bonus is you can watch and listen to the daily Light and Sound event whilst enjoying your meal or drink without the hassle of queueing or paying for it. I will stay here again, no second thoughts.

Hotel In a Slum

To access this hotel you have to drive or walk through an unpaved donkey/horse stable in a genuine slum. This is an extremely dangerous area and would advise everyone against staying in this area as there is high likelihood of being robbed or worse. The hotel itself has a good view from the roof and room but when you open the window, directly below you is a sheep and duck stable filled with excrement. We had to flee the hotel for fear of our safety within the first day. Go stay in a 4-5 Star hotel in Cairo central for your own safety.

Great hotel close to the pyramids. 5 minute walk to the Sphinx. Very modern. Booked one room for four people, got instead two rooms. You can see pyramids out of the window. Rooftop has great view of the pyramids and do not need to buy tickets for nightly music show. You can watch in on the rooftop for free.

We loved the staff at this property who absolutely made our stay exceptional. They definitely went above and beyond in so many ways and on so many occasions. The hotel's help with planning our excursions while in Giza was much appreciated, as well as very easy and done in a non-pressure environment. There are no words to describe the amazing view that this hotel offers, so I won't even try. You will just have to make reservations to witness it yourself. Cheers!

Great Location, best view of the Pyramids!

The hotel hands down offers the best view of the Pyramids. It is located just 200m away from the entrance. The hotel is also close enough for you to catch the sound and light show for free. Towering across the other buildings, the hotel also offers stunning views from its rooftop bar / restaurant. Rooms were decently clean, albeit slightly sandy but that's probably the same in most of Giza's hotel. Staff were friendly and are helpful should you require any assistance with touters / taxi drivers.

You stay at this hotel for the views, and nothing can compare to rolling out of bed, pulling the curtains and eating the sunrise on the pyramids, then wander up to the top bar to have the basic breakfast just in awe of the pyramids. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Like ALL of Egypt, maintainence is not a priority, the shower head was broken, the toilet leaked all day and all night (so sound of running water) the phone did not work. None of these things matter to me, I’m a very simple traveller and I was here to see the pyramids, not stay in a 5 stay amaericanised hotel. Will stay here again in a heartbeat

The hotel that gives you the view of 5000 years.

The Marvel Stone Hotel is a remarkable little hotel situated in the heart of Giza. The view of the Pyramids & Sphinx are second to none. So good is the view that you can watch the light show from the balcony without having to venture out. Sunsets are spectacular and I made a point of sitting out every night I was at the hotel to watch the sun go down. The air conditioned rooms are clean and spacious and have a fridge but there are some niggly little things that stop the hotel getting 10/10. For me it was the shower head that wouldn't stay in place and the lack of variety on the breakfast menu. The staff, particularly Khalifa, were fantastic. Always happy to help in any way possible. They collected & dropped me off at the airport, arranged a car c/w driver and an Egyptologist & all reasonably priced. I would advise everyone who needs to get about to get a car with a driver, as one word sums up the standard of driving..MAD! Within walking distance of the Marvel Stone are plenty of restaurants, takeaways (KFC & Pizza Hut) & convenience stores. There are also plenty of tourist shops & vendors who have one thing in mind, to part you from your cash. They are relentless & can be aggressive and will have every excuse under the 41 Degree Celsius heat to get you in the shop, whether it be a freebie, a drink or his grandad knew Churchill. Getting back to the Marvel Stone hotel was always a welcome relief from the hustle & bustle, a place to relax & contemplate your day.

A perfect view of the pyramids...

It was so amazing to have a view of all 3 of the biggest pyramids from my hotel room. At night I could just open the window and listen to the light and sound show. Hotel was wonderfully clean with big rooms and excellent service. Upstairs was a beautiful patio with glass railings for a full panoramic view of pyramids. Outside were some wonderful perfume and papyrus shops.

The scenery from my hotel room was worth every penny I paid for. The site made my day everyday and night. The neighborhood is not the cleanest, but safe enough to walk around and enjoy the people and the small stores. If you are staying in Giza to see the Pyramids I would recommend to stay at this hotel. However, the hotel is far from the rest of the sightseeing landmarks. Otherwise, it was pretty spectacular and amazing!!!

The location can not be beaten. This place seemed like it had just been re furred, everything looks new and clean. Big TV and fridge in the roofs, air con is great. Its worth staying here one night just to see the sound and light show. They are meant to charge $25 per person, or you can watch for free from the hotel roof. Only thing, they should do more in the bar on the roof. There are no menus or anything, not sure what they do there apart from the free breakfast? Its less then a minute work to the pyramid ticket office.

Birthday Trip

I went to Egypt to celebrate my birthday, and I must say this trip was the best birthday I ever had. On arrival at the Cairo airport, the hotel sent a driver to pick up my guest and me. After riding for about 30 minutes to Giza, then I was greeted by the staff, which they had a little surprise waiting for me. After checking into our room, we went to the rooftop and wow, a surprise birthday cake waiting for me, not to mention the beautiful view of the pyramids. Next, we didn't get a chance book tours in advance, so we decided to ask the hotel would they assist. I must say the hotel manager went over and beyond to make sure I was able to see everything in Egypt and believe me it was well worth it and at a reasonable price compared to the other tour companies. I couldn't believe I was able to visit Giza, Luxor, old Cairo, Aswan, and Alexandria all in one week. The overall stay was fantastic, the staff was pleasant and accommodating to our needs. The rooms were clean, Egyptian breakfast served every morning and what more could I ask for. The next time I come back to Egypt, I will be staying here.

Average hotel, good view

Stayed here for 3 nights in March 2018, travelling as a couple and booked a double room with a view of the Pyramids, but was given an ordinary room with 2 single beds. When I complained about being given a room different to the one I booked, was informed that they were no other rooms available and they had overbooked. They merely moved the 2 single beds together which was not ideal as they could still not be joined fully. The 2nd day, we were transferred to a room with a view, but again were given 2 single beds. I was again told that they were overbooked and had no double bedrooms available. Breakfast is ok, but not filling. There is no buffet and you are given scrambled eggs, Egyptian fava beans and a choice of either juice, coffee or tea. Since we had moved rooms on the 2nd day, when we returned on the evening of the 3rd day was the first time we could rate the housekeeping. However, there wasn't any. On inquiry, I was told this needs to be requested by guests as they do not enter your room to clean otherwise. We did not leave a DND or no housekeeping note, so this was unusual. The view overlooking the Pyramids is great, but the immediate buildings in front of the hotel are shabby and you can see rubble, laundry and dirt of the buildings directly in front of this hotel which detracts from the view. The rooms itself were fairly modern and comfortable, however, the service and dining at this hotel can be improved. For the price, it was ok but I would not return

Stay elesewhere

Do NOT BOOK this hotel! It looks so pretty and modern but we never stayed there. Something was wrong with plumbing so they had stay at another hotel (Panorama Pyramid Inn - nice, clean, awesome view ). The new hotel was very nice and accommodating however one of the rooms was not Pyramid view. They did not have room for us the following day but did not tell us in the AM so we had to move again. The Marvel Stone was still not fix so we found something on our own (Panorama Pyramids Inn - clean, friendly, great view!). It was super annoying so stay somewhere else. This is my first negative review;(

Great boutique hotel close to pyramids. There are fast food outlets nearby as well which is great. The staff are really helpful and nice. The Giza area has a lot of horses and camels nearby so be prepared for the smells associated with that in the area around the hotel. All in all good value.

Great view, great value, great staff

This is a great recently built hotel with a contemporary feel. The pyramids view is as good as it gets from the rooftop or one of the pyramid view rooms. Room prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Bella at the front desk was great in booking our train tickets and tour to Aswan/Luxor. The staff also helped us get beer delivered to the hotel which would otherwise be more difficult to find in the area. There are some good restaurants very close by including a KFC/Pizza Hut that's open until 3 am. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again on my next trip to Giza.

Best view in Cairo?

We stayed for one night in January. The hotel was very clean and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was simple but good: bread, jam, cheese and an omlette with orange juice and warm drink of choice. Located in Giza, the rooftop of the hotel is stunning. The view is worth the room fee alone!

The best hotel in Cairo

Stayed here for 6 nights and am pleased to say I made a great choice! The staff are friendly and helpful to the highest degree. The hotel is clean and well looked after with the absolute best view of the Giza pyramids and Sphinx and the surrounding areas of Cairo. It’s a truly amazing place to stay if you want to explore the Giza necropolis and Cairo as well as having the option to hire a driver from this central location to explore the outer regions of Cairo such as saqqara, Memphis etc. I travel a lot and have stayed in hundreds of hotels.. I rarely leave reviews but on this occasion I had to! I can not be more happy with this hotel and I will be staying there again next year! Absolutely brilliant! Thank you to all the staff and the owner is a diamond too. Marvel Stone!!
