My husband and I stayed at the resort for 5 days. What a beautiful scenery. The staff was very friendly, the food was great, but a little pricey( beers $12- that’s a little steep!) The pool was very nice. I was disappointed in the hot tubs though. Out of the 3 that were open, 2 had broken jets.
The indoor waterfall in the lobby/dining area is really neat and the pool area is great. Very unique hotel with friendly staff.
The resort was beautiful however I like a germophobe so I noticed the shower head needed to be clean so I cleaned it. The room could be bigger for the price but it was comfortable for me and my husband. The pool was nice and i sat in the hot tub. The ice machine on the third floor where my room was, was broken so we had to keep going downstairs to other floors for ice. The manager told.me he upgraded my room to a suite as a graduation gift but it was a basic room. There is no free breakfast and you have to pay to park there is also a 50 bucks a night incident fee and my card was charged twice For $100.
The pool was amazing
The pool was amazing
Lived it! Very friendly staff!
It was great place to stay
Love the scenery of this hotel. Big pool area, and convenient and delicious dinner options. It feels like the perfect AZ getaway!
It was way to expensive
Stay clear of this dump
I paid extra for a patio room specifically- Have been staying here for 15 years or moire- after check in I called the front desk as I was not given a patio room as I had paid for. The last at the desk said first come first serve and no guarantees- I let her know that I paid extra to have that room. She said she would have manager call me the next day. And of course no call. I paid over $500 for this room- then was charge for parking and for breakfast- The hotel is just trying to gouge the consumer as much as they can and the property has been run down over the years- definitely would not recommend
My room was right next to the boiler room and it was so loud..... and the toilet didnt flush and I had a handcap room for 400.00. I have sayed in this hotel 25 times ....this one was not a good experience
No better than a roadside hotel.
No better than a roadside hotel. Literally room was humid, smelled bad, hot and very outdated. Oh and, literally had a view of the highway. Check in is not attached to building where the rooms are. Door to get into building where the room was locked isn't even locked. Bed was terrible, woke up feeling like we had been beat up. Pool looks nice, but that's the only compliment I can provide. Stay somewhere else and save hundreds of dollars.
Cute little oddly shaped place.
We had a clean room and I like the odd shape to the hotel.
nice place
Beautiful property.
Beautiful resort
For a resort and spa noble of the spas worked the water wasn’t hot the jets didn’t work and the water was dirty .
Very nice for relaxation and family time.
Great property ! The views from the restaurant were phenomenal For the price it was just right , pools are great , on site service right to the pool ! Pina coladas were so good ! We ll def be back
Enjoyed the atmosphere! Definitely will be back
Great view beautiful customer service
Beautiful resort. Lots of amenities.
We just spend one night in our way to Sedona but we loved the resort. The room was super spacious and clean. The resort has lots of great amenities that we couldn't take advantage off.
I loved all the staff there they were all super positive and clean
Charming property conveniently located in the heart of Tempe, offering a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle. The rooms are nicely updated and well-maintained, with a good range of amenities. The property features two pools and multiple hot tubs, though the hot tubs could benefit from some updates to achieve a more resort-like feel. Families with children frequent the property, which may impact the overall atmosphere for those seeking a quieter experience.
My towel was all stained.
The staff was great. Hotel was clean . We enjoyed our stay. Definitely would be back again
Friendly and cooperative staff.
What a beautiful property! Can’t wait to stay again.

Nice quiet
A unique setting built into the natural elevated rock. Great views, spas, and pools. Nice lobby bar and restaurants. Rooms are updated and comfortable. A very Relaxing atmosphere is found here.
The carpet is old, but I did love this property. It’s so calming and relaxing. The views are amazing from everywhere, there’s a trail to hike and see the sights from up there. I loved the views. I would love to go back.
Great stay
Quiet
We had a broken toilet but they responded super quickly
Beautiful grounds and everything was great!
I really liked this hotel. Overall great location and awesome views
I loved my stay. I feel so refresh. Thank you.
Awful cruel staff
Worst staff ever..everyone was so consumed with themselves and talking to each other with zero concern for guest needs...terrible dining service and the staff all acted scared anytime I asked for assistance..was literally one of the worst experiences I've had at a hotel.
Desert city oasis
This is great little oasis in the heart of the city. Cool design of the pool and surroundings. Rooms are standard it the beds very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. We will come back.
Very nice property, first time we stayed in this area. Evenings were cool so we were looking forward to spending some time in the hot tubs , unfortunately out of 3 only 1 was working. 1 closed off completely, 2nd one jets were not working at all and water temp was warm at best not hot, 3rd one was occupied. This played a big part in making our hotel decision , would’ve like the hotel to tell us that the hot tubs were not working during booking and then we would have chose somewhere else.
Amazing!!
Gorgeous Hotel
Overall we really enjoyed the stay and plan to book another visit. It’s such a gorgeous hotel! The only complaint we have are the pillows flattening way too much when you lay on them and the bedding made sounds of paper.
We loved the beautiful pools
Very accommodating
Anniversary trip
Very great experience! The pillows were a little uncomfortable but everything else was great
The Resort was a bit disappointing for 2 reasons: 1) I was excited to use to jacuzzi one evening, but when I walked up the steps to check it out, the water was quite murky and looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. Same with the pool. 2) Housekeeping was knocking loudly on all hallway doors repeatedly around 8:45am - two hours before checkout. There is NO reason they should be doing this. It is highly disruptive to guests trying to sleep in a little on a Sunday morning. They would knock multiple times on each door, and I could hear them in the hallway. Very unprofessional of management to have the housekeepers waking up guests and rushing them into check out. I will not be staying here again.
Everything was great
Great staff, beautiful nostalgic property built into the hillside. They were remodeling so there were places that were messy or trashy.
I’ll be back
Would have referred more facial clothes than 2 with 3 women staying. Coffee pods were not replaced 2nd day. I feel $15 parking should be comped with room rentals. Otherwise we absolutely loved the resort and wished we had more time
The property is beautiful. The food in yhe restaurants was amazing. I will definitely be coming back.
Excellent and observant staff
Suggest updating your website. There was room service with a $5 cost and an option to order for pick up for no additional charge. Gift shop hours
After reading some of the recent reviews I actually thought of canceling our reservation. I’m glad we didn’t! We booked this hotel for its proximity to the airport for our flight home. I wish we had a few more days to spend. Check in was seamless, our room must have been recently renovated, because it seemed fresh and new. The pool area was great with an outdoor bar and there was plenty of seating available. We had breakfast one morning on site which was delicious and the wait staff was super friendly. There is construction going on throughout the hotel, but it never interfered with our stay. We would definitely stay here again.
this hotel has a bad smell and it didn't have have any Spanish channels so that was something I didn't like about this Hotel
Great food, great room! Perfect place for a romantic anniversary staycation!
Facilities were great Lovely view Retreat feeling Nice rooms - spacious and stylish Great gym !
Very nice
this place was okay very out dated and they charge for parking when parking was not even convenient due to an elevator not working, the hallways were also very humid
Thanks
I have to start off with the young woman who checked us in - great personality, knowledgeable and very sweet. The housekeeping staff was courteous and the employees at the pool were amazing. We also stopped in at the bar in the hotel and had the best bartenders (On the Rocks)There was 2 rooms that we occupied with family and friends and we all said the same thing - what an amazing and beautiful hotel and staff was 10 out of 10. Will for sure be staying again on our next Staycation. Thank you !!
We love staying here it’s in a central location. I understand the renovations that’s the reason for the mess. Overall we enjoy staying here.
Hotel was very nice with nice amenities. Staff was friendly as well. Will stay again!
A found ants in my room, it is understandable for me, but I think a hotel like Marriott should have this problem.
the numbers are old.
Nice
Loved this stay… perfect for a weekend getaway!
Very nice all around staff in every department and beautiful places to walk and see nature one of the best ive been to
Great pools
This hotel was perfect. I missed my flight going to Santa Barbara and had to stay the night at phoenix. I wish I had more time to enjoy the property the food at the hotel restaurant was amazing. If I ever come back to phoenix I’ll definitely stay here again.
Relajarse en pareja
Perfecta , me hubiera gustado que hagan desayunos o cenas incluidas así tuviera más personas hospedadas en el hotel
Beautiful salt water pool with water falls. Crystal clear. Great waitress (Kristian) in the casual restaurant in the lobby (market cafe). Beautiful grounds with a family of Chuckwallas.
We had to spend an extra night at this hotel, but we didn't mind. The only thing thing is it's not very convenient for for shopping or dining but there is a restaurant or two on site.
The property was absolutely beautiful, and the pool was wonderful. I think we were in an older part of the hotel though, but the room was still great. The grounds are very pretty. The only thing is it's not very convenient for dining or shopping
Enjoyed our stay and the staff
The resort has stunning, natural landscaping with incredible waterfalls, rock walls and water features throughout the property. The pools are well designed and thankfully salt water. There is a waterway between the pools which is very nice. Because of the resort's size, it's quite a workout to walk to the restaurants from the south portal entrance. It's a little confusing at first to find where everything is located with the various stairs, gates, bridges and tunnel. Be prepared to do some investigating after arrival. It's not intuitive. Front desk staff are ok, but maybe they might need some additional training in friendly customer service. Bar staff were not as friendly as I am used to in expensive resorts. They could smile more and not be so grumpy. I transferred to the Royal Palms Resort after staying in this resort, because Palm's staff without a doubt go above and beyond and they don't struggle being extra friendly. I felt the Marriott staff seemed new to hospitality and it was all about them and maybe not trained enough in how to make the guest feel special or even like the guest mattered. Staff need to remember, you can have the most beautiful property in Phoenix, but if guests don't feel welcome and like they are "friends" of the resort, it doesn't matter what the property looks like. I have to say, I did notice a female waiter at breakfast greeting return guests very nicely by name and chatting with them, so there are pockets of experience at the resort.
Beautiful property, delicious food. The Room smells like cigarette. I tried to bring it up to the management at the front desk. They gave me a noon check out and $15 resort credit. When I told them my stay made me feel very sick. How is this hotel all up to the code? Im going to report this to the Health Department. This is so unacceptable. Felt unsafe staying in a room where it made us feel sick after inhaling cigarette smell all night.
A beautiful resort with excellent staff, restaurants, pools. Would definitely go back!
Love this hotel
Great front desk staff!
So so
Bathroom was very small and disappointing. Pillows were flat. Otherwise, pools looked nice and room was nice with patio.
Impressive hotel, quite sprawling. Loved the pool and the views. Food was excellent, and the staff were lovely. Elevators were a bit slow, and did not have AC in them, perhaps something that will be fixed. Overall it was a great stay, and we would book again. Looking forward to a next time.
Love this property
Did not like NO microwave in my room and that there was a community microwave on 3rd floor!
Was a good place to stay. However, upon arriving at the hotel to check in, there was a musician playing near the reservations desk which made it somewhat difficult to hear the reservations clerk speak.
Awesome views and romantic vibes
This property is very nice, beautiful views of the Sunset looking over the valley. Not a lot of people were there when we went but it also was 114 degrees outside. Pools are great. Very relaxing atmosphere.i would stay there again.
Amazing room
The view and amenities are amazing
This “resort” is very out dated and although we’ve been told that they’ve been remodeling the rooms that we had was not resort quality!! The carpet and floors are a mess, the furniture is old and worn out. We had a rat fall out of the ceiling as we were walking down the hall on the 2nd floor. We were able to surround it and shoo it outside. There is missing tiles in the ceiling where the rat fell out of so surely there is more rats in that roof.

Stay was good other than the shower had no pressure which was the only negative.
Great spot. Always come here
Exceptional Service across the board.
The staff at The Butte is exceptional! It makes for a pleasant experience when everyone greets you with a smile and shows genuine interest in attending to your needs. We had wonderful servers, an attentive lobby, valet staff for an easy, enjoyable weekend. We'll be back!
Best vacation ever
Very disappointed stay. The pool slide is only open one hour past check in and one hour prior to check out. The room was dirty, dust bunnies on the ceiling and walls, the carpet was filthy. The pool was dirty as well. Do not recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay. The pool and restaurant were amazing
Not worth the money, outdated
Was placed in the 6000 building, furthest away from the pool etc. Hotel had shutter blinds, big wooden ones that sorda opened up into the room, and had big divider, shower door was about to fall off, could tell no one had stayed in the room for a while, solo travelers who book on hotels.com get the worse room every time, I have no idea why, were all the other rooms booked??

If you pay for the nicer “resort” room you will have a nice stay. If you pay for a basic room you are right next to a very busy freeway and your room will be very loud. We paid an additional $50 to upgrade to a nicer room since we could hear the noise from the freeway in our room and knew we wouldn’t sleep well. The pool area and Restaurants are very nice although the pools aren’t heated so they are useless. We paid $450 for a one night stay and I felt like the price was way too high for what we got. Not sure I would stay here again. There are other nicer hotels nearby for the same price.
