All the staff were incredible particularly Habiba, Front Desk Manager, who gets a Gold Star for Service, Mosehli, Manager, and Khamis who handled our bags and showed us the property upon arrival and was very helpful at our departure. Saner and Nancy in the evening Front Desk were very helpful. Helal from Housekeeping as well as Mohammad. Ibrahim and Ms. Amal from Breakfast were also very helpful. We had an incredible stay at an incredible historic hotel.
So glad we went with this hotel for our Cairo trip! This is the best marriott hotel i’ve ever been to. Location is next to pyramid with fantastic views, rooms were clean, service impeccable. Resturant 139 had great breakfast and dinner buffet.
Me a House review
Room cleaning was superb. Missed replacing beer once. Coffee service in 139 was hit and miss. Waiters seem to forget…or were ordered elsewhere. Main complaint is about taxi driver Ramy Khottabh. Was helpful and efficient for three days and the failed to show Today, Saturday for our airport ride. He was well compensated prior. He has a security friend at lobby car entrance. He needs to be punished and reminded. I suggest a week suspension for accessing guests outside the main gate. We were able to make the ride in time but it was inconsiderate. Otherwise, loved the hotel. Service, food, room, quiet, friendliness were all just fine. Anthony.
Amazing location, great dining. Lovely staff
It is an impressive property, but they can miss details like refilling the conditioner, that was the only one thing or else it was an impeccable service. One thing I didn’t like throughout Egyptian hotels was the half shower and the water would spill all over the bathroom. I am not sure how to take shower in such an out fit
Beautiful grounds, lighting in the evening most romantic.
Excellent stay!
One of the best hotel stays, I have ever had. The rooms are not crazy luxurious but the views the service and the food are above and beyond!
Marriot Mena House was great. Although it’s one of the oldest hotels in Cairo it did not feel old or outdated. The property was immaculate and service was amazing. I stayed in a Premium Pyramid View room. I cannot think of a better way to spend a few nights in Cairo.
The stay was magical! The property is right behind the pyramids so you get a great view during the day and at night
Food, meh
Our stay was fantastic. My only beef with this trip was the room service food. It was inexpensive but not that great. Housekeeping was fantastic and the front desk was extremely helpful. Definitely would stay here again.
Complain!
I recently stayed at Mena House, a hotel known for its outstanding service, which is why I was surprised by a disappointing experience with one of the garage security staff members. The security person “Ashraf” spoke to me in a very rude and loud manner, which felt unprofessional and unsettling. Additionally, after making me pay for parking, he handed me a piece of paper instead of an official receipt. Aside from this issue, I must say that the rest of the staff I interacted with inside the hotel were friendly, respectful, and attentive, meeting the high standards Mena House is known for. I hope the management can address this issue to ensure that every part of the hotel experience remains as professional as expected.
This is a gorgeous property outdoors. I truly enjoyed my time at the pool and restaurants. There was construction going on but that is not often. It is worth a stay.
Staff is very professional and very friendly. Hotel complex and pool is beautiful. Breakfast buffet is amazing and of course can’t beat the location being so close to the pyramids.
Amazing hotel. It is a beautiful property right across from Giza Pyramids. The food is great and the staff goes above and beyond to cater for your needs. Thanks to Nada for upgrading us to such a beautiful room. Kareem, Mohamoud Helmy and other restaurant staff made us felt like we are home and part of their family. Kudos to such great group of staff. We will highly recommend this property :-)
Excellent
Beautiful hotel with unique history located in from of Giza Pyramids. Spacious rooms, delicious breakfast and good gym
Nice view of pyramids. Great service. Everyone is si nice there.
When you sit down that first breakfast and see the view, you know your whole time will be worth it. People and service all top drawer.
The view is unreal. You wont get over how stunning it is. The facilities are great and food was really good. Would recommend for anyone staying in Cairo.
Very nice hotel if price is not an issue The hotel is within a reasonable walking distance to the entrance to the pyramids, about 10 to 15 minutes. Elderly may wish to hire a taxi Hotel is a little isolated from the main streets of Giza The hotel is like a self contained city or college campus with three restaurants
Best place to stay if you came to see the pyramids. Honestly, the veiw was surreal.
A Great experience
My wife and I stayed at this property during two nights as part of the last two nights in Egypt. The hotel is fantastic. The location of the hotel is amazing. We stayed in a room with the view to the pyramids. The food at the restaurants was excellent. The pool, gym and spa looked so good but we didn't have time to use it since we had other activities planned. The bed and room were very comfortable. It was my wife's Birthday and we were given a cake and then bed was decorated with rose petals (as a courtesy). I noticed however that the staff was very busy since there were events being celebrated in the patio. Communication within the staff could be improved there were a few minor issues that could have been avoided, but nothing major. None of these issues kept me away from a great experience. Valet attendants were great in assisting on arrival and departure. So much to say but running out of permitted space.
Not such a great experience overall.
Their non refund policy is problematic. Communication also problematic.. Resolution of concerns terrible.
Amazing place. Best view of the Pyramids in Giza
Best in Cairo, unique hotel with long history
The service was EXCELLENT! Our every need was catered to by the attentive staff. The spa service was amazing. We splurged on a 1/2 day spa retreat that was top-notch. The food at each restaurant was great. The Indian Restaurant was my favorite. We dined there 3 times during our stay. The staff there was tickled to see us again and again. Housekeeping did more than expected to maintain the cleanliness of our suite during our stay.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Amazing views, staff, food, and overall experience. 10/10!!!!
Place is amazing staff is exceptional. Room service quick and accurate. Very safe., clean definitely will be back
Pyramids are within walking distance. Restaurants have a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. Staff was super friendly and kind. If you will be visiting the pyramids I recommend staying at the Marriott Mena house Hotel for the best hospitable experience.
Very nice, next to the Puramids. Great View. A little pricey, but over all worth it. Only negative, hotel security hassles the tour drivers when waiting to pick you up, makes them go to the upper parking. So a pain when your trying to meet up.
The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Food at the facility is very delicious. The pool was perfect for the summer heat. The bonus is that the property is very close to the pyramids!
Literally next to the pyramids
This hotel is excellent. Great location literally right next to the Pyramids Complex. Loved everything about this hotel. Rooms were spacious, clean & comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Going to pyramids - stay here
Super close to pyramids, the pool is amazing and the room is large - with nice size balcony too! Very large hotel, but very accommodating and just a lovely stay. Worth the money.
The views of the pyramids of Giza from my room was amazing!! Great breakfast buffet (for a surcharge). Very friendly staff. Loved everything about this hotel and would definitely recommend!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with many choices. I must mention the view of the pyramids while dining at one of the three restaurants. I will stay here when ever visiting Cairo/Giza
Amazing Views!
The hotel is in an amazing location with a view of the pyramids from your balcony and a short walking distance to the pyramids if you choose. Rooms and service was fantastic. However, the hotel hosts a lot of weddings so be prepared for delays entering your hotel and loud music until 11pm. The night we arrived (Friday) the hotel was hosting 3 weddings and also on Saturday there was at least one. Didn’t experience any weddings during the week.
Beautiful hotel but 2 weddings with stage construction and amplified music 6-11 pm ruined evenings and sleep
Kudos to Habiba that was very helpful. Great hotel generally speaking.
They will not refund you, if you book this hotel. Very disappointed with the Marriott. Tried to cancel 4 months in advanced and they would not let give any refunds. Very, risky to book. I would highly recommend looking at other places. Do not trust the refund status.
Beautiful hotel - excellent views
Beautiful hotel with amazing views of the pyramids. Very friendly staff. Delicious food in Moghul restaurant and for breakfast buffet. Couldn't give 5 stars because there were 4 weddings at the hotel and the music was exceptionally loud until 11pm. We were only told that there would be loud music when we arrived.
Unbeatable location
Location is unbeatable , staff are very professional (although on the higher cost in comparison, laundry service is meticulously presented) and the facility is nothing generally to complain about. Just do take note on their communication if there is a wedding since you can kiss sleeping warly goodbye.
A literal oasis in the middle of the desert. Beautiful property.
Excellent location and service

Pyramid location is perfect
Amazing View
Beautiful hotel with amazing views. The staff go out of their way to make you comfortable during your stay. The food is great and the breakfast buffet is amazing and included in your stay. I would only consider staying in this hotel in Cairo due to the service and location and amazing view.
Amazing hotel with great food and friendly staff!
Wonderfully close to the pyramids. Service was excellent. Security excellent.
Marriott Mena House is comfortable and peaceful with a beautiful view of the pyramids. This hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the Pyramids of Giza. Cairo is an extremely busy city but Marriott Mena feels separated and calm. You can hear the noise of the city but the relaxing environment of the hotel takes you away. The room was clean, comfortable with a peaceful garden view from the balcony. The staff are very helpful, friendly and speak english well so I never had an issue with understanding. Breakfast buffet is huge with a amazing view of the Pyramids. Dinner selection was delicious with a relaxing atmosphere. I loved my trip and would tell any Cairo visitors stay here.
Mena House is probably the nicest resort in Cairo or Giza. It is less than 2 blocks from the Great Pyramid and Sphinx. The rooms are exquisite: marble floors, a shower big enough to fit a cow, and a beautiful view. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. They were attentive to our every want. The 3 hotel restaurants are excellent. The food is amazing, but expensive. The staff are experienced with food allergies. This is the first time in decades that my food allergy has NOT been triggered on vacation. I am grateful for that alone.
Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The grounds are beautiful, must stay while visiting Egypt.
Gorgeous hotel with a beautiful view of the pyramids. The staff, especially Katrine, were excellent. Great pool, quiet rooms, excellent Italian restaurant.
Beautiful views from the property is the only selling point. Not a 5 star by any standard. Dirty, extremely slow service, inconvenient access for Ubers and transportation. 1/5 for hotel itself.
Honestly, they use the view of the pyramids to pull you in The drivers they give definitely overcharge for the general rate for the area as well the tours and stuff are overpriced, They charge 7-8x more than then economic level of the neighborhood and they are in, if your booking this for the view that's what you will get but over all it is a clean and nice place to stay
The staff was amazing and the safety was superior
Great stay!
Amazing breakfast view of the pyramids. Had a great time here.
That it is close to Giza
Just beautiful. Amazing view and so safe compared to thw rest of Giza. A beautiful oasis
Pool wasn't the best ! Mold in the pool
The view of the pyramids is exceptional
Beautifully set overlooking the pyramids. Service is very attentive. Large heated pool with plenty of sun beds and pool service. Good choice of restaurants. However as a tourist i wouldn't venture out of the hotel on my own. Area outside is very run down and feels a bit unsafe. I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere very close to the pyramids for a short visit.
Nice view of the pyramids. Great staff
This is the best place to stay if you want a good pyramid view and good dining options. There were some issues with our stays but the staff took care of things quickly and efficiently
Great
The hotel, staff cleanliness were excellent. Location was right by the Pyramids. Outside the hotel location was disappointing, you need a car to get anywhere. The internet is not a steady connection and we had issues with the TV connection going in and out.
Stayed here in July 2023. Had a wonderful view of the pyramids from out balcony. However, I expected a little more from a 5 star property. First, every "Insta Influencer" in a 500 mile radius was there to take 1 billion selfies in front of the pyramids. They were relentless and ridiculuous. Second, the food was bland and lack luster. We had room service, Restaurant 139, poolside and Alfredo meals. The best part was the breakfast buffet. The clientele is really globlal...and not always respectful of others. We had to leave the pool one afternoon because some guests from the east found it OK to both spit and blow snot rockets into the pool. The staff did nothing to stop them. While the location is great, the headache and lackluster ammenities are not worth the view. Next time in Cairo I will look to stay in a 5 star in the city.
The view from the garden and restaurants was amazing. I stayed in the room which did not have pyramid view. However, I could enjoy the pyramid view from the garden and restaurants in the morning and on sunset. Breakfast had a lot of foods options.
Nice
Great location, check your invoice!
Amazing location next to the pyramids, great pool area, rooms a good size, restaurant outlook beautiful looking towards the pyramids. Do check your invoice though. We were charged for breakfast we’d already paid for, when we requested this to be refunded on checkout we were told this would be refunded within 7 days (which is terrible in itself as its our money) and now 10 days later we are still waiting.
I had the most amazing experience. This was my first international solo trip. The hotel staff were all nice and attentive to my requests. I enjoyed a beautiful room with an amazing view of the pyramids. I definitely recommend.
We stayed for 12 days in a room with a view of the pyramids. The hotel staff were exceptional. There was nothing they wouldn’t do to make sure our stay was amazing. The hotel is very clean, modern and extremely well kept.
Marriott have dramatically upgraded this property since they assumed control. The rooms and common areas are very nice, but it’s the grounds and restaurants that I particularly enjoyed - why sit inside when one can be gazing at the pyramids?!
Great hotel
This was a great hotel. The staff was great and very helpful! I wish I could’ve stayed longer. The view of the pyramids were amazing.
Nice facility. Attentive staff. Good food
Superb hotel at the foot of the pyramids
We had a beautiful pyramid view room during our stay. It was a very special way to start our 10 days in Egypt. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Cairo.
One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, the staff are absolutely amazing
best place in Cairo
There were a few issues but the team handled them quickly and we got great service.
The property is over 100 years old which is unique itself however the famous politicians, celebrities and guests are another nice added feature. The best however is the service and location with views of the period from all over the resort. The Moghul Room restaurant has the most flavourful Indian food and the 139 pavilion had a great buffet for breakfast and dinner. I would highly recommend this hotel as the best and only place to stay in Cairo when visiting!
The best!!!!!! Not my first time, won’t be my last 😊
World class location and a team to match it. From checking in with Habiba, to ordering room service, or going to the bank, every interaction we had with the team was excellent and professional to the highest degree. Our compliments to the staff at Mena House :)
Wonderful location! The staff and property are beyond expectations. Would highly recommend staying here during your trip to Giza
Great views from our Pyramid view room. Whilst we enjoyed our slightly dated room, slight improvements such as USB sockets bedside and soft closing toilets would be a nice addition. We ate breakfast and also had dinner at the 139 Pavilion restaurant which also had great views of the Pyramids! Buffet breakfast and dinner had a large variety of food. The Moghul Room food was authentic and tasty, however the room was super cold! We also tried the Alfredo Italian restaurant which was also nice although it was full when we tried to eat there on our second day so we had to come back the following day, so best to make a reservation! At all these restaurants alcohol is available but if you drink any international brands you will be paying a premium! We tried most of the locals wines which were surprisingly ok. The pool is a decent size although not with a view of the Pyramids! Note, the original historic section of the main hotel including the main reception was under renovation when we were there although not much work seemed to be happening so it wasn’t noisy. Customer service was great and all the staff were friendly and helpful!
We have been traveling internationally for decades, as can be attested by the rating this hotel as ranks as one of our all time favorites. The staff , in particular, whic is friendly, diligent, and aims to please needs to be singled out for praise. Surely, it is a reflection on great management.
A first class hotel. A very friendly and helpful staff. Awesome views of the pyramids. Spotlessly clean with top notch security. A traveler could not ask for more.
The Mena house is absolutely beautiful 😍. The staff and property is amazing! The only thing for me was that since ai am vegan there were little to no options available for me to choose from when dining. I had to pick different items and if request no cheese, meat and eggs are possible. It was a bit uncomfortable.
Too expensive with OK service
Too many plain clothed staff anod other people in the small lobby, makes it very chaotic Gave my postcard for posting to the staff and this iIS THE ONLY HOTEL ON OUR ENTIRE TRIP WHEREBY THE POSTCARDS FAIL TO REACH OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. The vibe in the lobby was such that we were worried tog tive the postcard but we thought as a Marrioot they can at least do that very disappointing that something as simple as this can no be exeuctfved by a global brand like Marriott
Used to be better when it was before! Now it was easier to find rooms. I will NOT BE Back again while it is owned by new owner!!! I have been there numerous times since 1978! What has been done to it is horrible! Even the foods from restaurant have been horrible to eat and over priced
Amazing
It was mine and my husband hunny moon and the hotel was amazing and such a wonderful place the staff were amazing to the manager at 139 pavilion and Islam the house keeper was just outstanding couldn't of ask for such a better place and will be back next year with rest of family
Incredible views… great food… friendly staff and overall a wonderful experience!
Marriott Mena House is by far the best place to stay if you are visiting Giza or Cairo. It is clean, very well looked after and the staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. It is a perfect location to visit the Pyramids and Sphinx because they are literally next door. We saw some of the most expensive hotels in downtown Cairo and they are not a patch on this place. If you are heading to Giza or Cairo, stay at Marriott Mena House. You won't regret it. 5 stars in every sense!
Best parts of this hotel are the mattresses which are plush and comfortable, the very quiet environment and the beautiful grounds. The hotel lacks a proper lounge and bar area. And for some reason both here and at most places in egypt the staff is pretty much entirely male - seem to discriminate against hiring female staff.
The name speaks for itself. It’s a world class 5 star hotel. If you have the money don’t stay anywhere else.
I love how close the Pyramid was. But I didn't like I got double charge to my credit card.
Great hotel
Perfect view to see Giza pyramids
Excellent service, excellent property, and the Indian restaurant was AMAZING. 10/10 would recommend staying here, it made the difference for my trip for sure.
Amazing view of the pyramids. Great food.
Marriott Mena House Cairo | Hotel in Giza | Travala.com
The room and food was average not really 5 star and not worth the money but the grounds and staff, especially the staff at the concierge, were superb
