Wonderful staff! Property older but maintained mostly would not rate five star hotel but comfortable enough. Staff make up for it along with location and shopping etc.
Fantastic location, great accomodation
Not Really Five Stars
I have stayed in this hotel many times over the years and I have to say I am finally fed up. This hotel sells itself as a 5 star hotel. It isn’t. It is dated and in urgent need of renovation. I stayed in one of the apartments on the 11th floor with my family. There is nothing special about this hotel and I would actually say it is closer to a 3 start hotel. The lobby is impressive, but that is it.
Very nice, spacious and comfortable room. They did have an issue with hot water but out of their control. Close to the new Elizabeth line which was very convenient.
Very good unless you want to eat or drink after 9
Hotel is well located in Canary Wharf Close to shops and restaurants. Hotel was clean and room was big with kitchen area and with friendly staff. But no food available in the hotel after 9:30pm. no room service, No mini bar, no shop in hotel. There was tea and coffee in room but no milk if any type.
2nd Class Guest Services
The front desk staff was friendly, but the benefits of prepaying vs. booking direct via Hotels.com are evident. As a Marriott rewards member I did not receive the increased level of service and hospitality I am accustomed to receiving.
Great service, apartment was very clean additional small bed for a young child was easily accommodated.
Great family choice
For a family trip to London this was a great choice. Good service and room was very spacious with great views. A bit tired in decor but still very functional and we would stay again. Clean and ideal for 5 with a spare bed. We are fussy but this is recommended
Nice sized apartment
Nice size 2 bedroom apartment for a family or 2 couples. Beds very comfortable. Rooms need updating but overall nice stay. Close to Canary Wharf.
Great
Really loved this hotels central location. Every major restaurant is within walking distance. Some less the 2 mins walk. Beautiful relaxing location. Great for business or a relaxing weekend. The staff were super friendly and attentive to our needs.
Nice family break
We stayed in two room apartments which was perfect size for us a family. Overall we enjoyed our stay here although we found the rooms could be cleaner. Considering current times it was very important to us to have clean rooms, we bought our own wipes to be extra clean. When we cleaned the chairs and tables we found dirt on the wipes, this was done as soon as we arrived in the room. It wasn’t a massive deal as we were always going to take extra cleaning precautions and maybe the room was not occupied for a while hence the dirt. Staff were polite, breakfast was good. Nice eating places around the local area too.
It was wonderful thank you so much
I’ve been a Marriott club owner for more than 18 years , I have never had such bad experience at any other Marriott we stayed at. First , room was not ready when we arrived at 6 PM !! exhausted after a long flight from Los Angeles. Staff has been very slow to respond to any requests. We are accommodated into a small room until ours is ready. We were then moved to the room at night finally being able to get some sleep. Upon walking into the room I saw what looked like a dead fly on the nightstand next to our bed, I ignored it since we were dead tired. On Christmas eve, I start noticing many more of these bugs (flies) around the room and called the front desk who sends the security and said ok we will move you tomorrow since it is Christmas Eve. We were disgusted and upset and it totally ruined our vacation. The manager second morning contacted us and he offered to dry clean our clothes and bags, I agreed however he said because of the holidays we have to do it on two stages, I reluctantly agreed. However, this manager left on vacation and came another lady who tried to make us pay for the 2nd load of dry-cleaning service. I was outraged, however she then agreed to have the dry cleaning done. At the end of the stay they offered no apology for ruining our vacation. I will never be returning to this place and I’m writing to you here to investigate what happened.
Disappointed
With such a late check-in time of 3.00pm it was incredibly disappointing to not have a room until around 4:30! Perhaps that why the room was not overly clean. In particular the bathroom with long black hairs on the floor.
Amazing room... Comfortable and very luxurious...
Great service and nice hotel in London Canary wharf
Lovely hotel. Fit for purpose. I can't fault this hotel
Awesome place!
Couldn't have been better!
We had bioked the apartment for a week and it great to have a kitchen and living room space. And a great view too. I would definitely go back
The hotel is in a great area if you want to have very easy access to london. everything was great, big room, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths plus a great kitchen. laundry was sometimes difficult. some people don’t take their laundry out of the washer and you are stuck waiting for an open washer to get laundry done. this is not the hotel’s fault. overall excellent hotel
We stayed here with three children so the kitchen facilities in the apartment were convenient.
Not enough beds in room on our arrival. Kitchen facility was super
Almost as good as home
Amazing location, staff and room. Easy to get around town and plenty of space to relax after a long day. Close to many restaurants and shopping options
Everything was great..good service very nice location and a lovely breakfast. We stayed in a 1 bedroom executive apartment and it was very big for London standards and very nice modern furniture. The hotel staff where friendly and provided a high quality service standards.
Lovely hotel apartments in beautiful Canary Wharf
Stayed 15 nights at the lovely Marriott Executive Apartments recently. The staff was excellent - welcoming, friendly and professional. The hotel apartments were on the upper floors (9-12) offering great views. Apartments are modern, spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The ambience of the room and sleep quality were excellent. Great links from the hotel to central London. The West India Quay light rail station is a couple of minutes walk away while the Canary Wharf station is about 5-6 minutes away. Shopping is at your doorstep with the Cabot, Canary Wharf and Jubilee Shopping Centres all close by. The huge Westfield Mall in Stratford is a short £1.75 ride away on both the DLR( Docklands Light Railway) and the Jubilee line. A great number of dining options in the area but ensure to sample the in-house Manhattan Grill for a delicious steak. Great value for money. If you are staying at the apartments request rooms riverside.
Great location.
Great breakfast options and very clean and comfortable room.
Excellent location, for shopping and easy transportation. The DLR train station is right ob the door step. Its a perfect location for family vacation
Everyrhing was amazing except the noise due to DLR.
My excellent choice of stay in London
Great experience
Wow, great place. 1st rate facility, new and in perfect shape. Units are really 1 bedroom apartments with decent kitchens (stove, oven, microwave, kitchenware, fridge, dishwasher). Our rooms had amazing view and were very quiet. Room condition is perfect. Beautiful property! Location is not in central London but easily accessible by DLR train close to hotel. Convenient to shopping, grocery, transport, and some museums. The "docklands" is a very nice area. Staff is absolutely first rate, helpful and knowledgeable. Note this is not exactly hotel, you get room cleaning about every other day, which is fine. For small charge you can get daily maid service. My only suggestion would be to provide dishwasher soap for kitchen.
Outstanding hotel in London! Staff was very helpful, room was very large and beautiful, and location was perfect for touring London and surrounding area. We would stay there again. Highest recommendation!
Great location. Close to underground, good restaurants nearby.
We enjoyed our stay . Very spacious rooms and good location too
Beautiful view of Canary Wharf financial district. Room was bright and airy. I loved staying here!
Nice suite for family close to downtown
Nice suite with 1 bedroom, living room, bathroom, and kitchenette. The only drawback is that the sofa is not a sofa bed, so they had to bring in 2 uncomfortable single beds for the kids. Over all enough space for 4 people even with the 2 single beds. The room was very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. We were within 10-15 minutes of all the museums and theatres in London. We enjoyed our stay there and would return any time.
Nice apartment hotel if you need a kitchen
Nice apartment hotel in Canary Wharf. Nice amenities with nice bar and restaurant. Close to many shopping malls, movie cinemas and restaurants. Kind of far from central London but easy access to dlr and tube. Staff are great. Modern amenities, fast wi-fi,
Great spacious apartment.
Great hotel! Please note that since this is an apartment it doesn’t get cleaned daily. It is also 20 minutes underground ride to downtown London. If you are looking for a quite accommodation away from crazy downtown crowd this place is for you. Walking distance to grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants.
Excellent Hotel
Very smart high end Hotel in a great location, with many pubs and restaurants in the near vicinity. The Hotel is also right get to the DLR station, so very easy to get around London. We were in London as a family to see the World Athletic Championships at the Olympic Stadium and there were many IAAF Executive Members staying in the Hotel
Enjoyed the stay. Very helpful staff.
Very nicely executive apartment. Roomy and the kitchen is very handy for making home cooked meal.
Very nice stay.
An overnight for a show at the O2 and this was a simple choice. Have stayed at other apartments in Canary wharf but this was a first. Simple check in at the hotel, lots of facilities, staff very friendly and helpful. Apartment was neat and tidy with tea and coffee and even some milk in the fridge. Nice bathroom but not en-suite which was ok for us, but if staying with others, may prove awkward. Right next to the DLR and a very easy and direct connections from Stratford which was very handy for us. Options for dinner and breakfast and a bar. All the hotel facilities but your own space. Very nice will stay again.
Great appartments
We came to London to attend a concert at the O2 arena and chose to stay at the Marriott because of the excellent location it is only one stop away from the arena on the tube. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The apartment was exactly as described on the website very clean and we'll maintained we will definitely be staying here again and will be recommending to our friend and family.
NO BOOKING- HOTEL STAFF ARE LIARS
I TURNED UP AT THE HOTEL AROUND MIDNIGHT & WAS TOLD THERE IS NO BOOKING UNDER MY NAME. ALTHOUGH THE ROOM WAS BOOKED AND PRE PAID BY EXPEDIA. AFTER SOURCING ANOTHER HOTEL THAT NIGHT, I CONTACTED EXPEDIA THE NEXT DAY, THE HOTEL INFORMED EXPEDIA THAT I DIDN'T TURN UP AT THE HOTEL AND IT WAS A NO SHOW. WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT. IN THE END I WAS NOT ENTITLED TO ANY COMPENSATION FROM EXPEDIA AS ALL THE BLAME WAS PUT ON MYSELF. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE FROM THIS FAMOUS HOTEL CHAIN, I WOULD EXPECT MORE.
Great customer service
We arrived at the hotel at 7am in the morning. Our 2 bedroom apartment was not ready however they offered us a free breakfast and use of the gym which had showers, sauna. They also expedited room cleaning and we were in by 1pm. Although we were disappointed, the level of service and empathy made a difference for us.
New Year Eve one night stay
The guest wifi was very poor
Beautiful and modern and convenient!
We had a beautiful two bedroom apartment and the high ceilings and great TV 's in every room made this apartment so perfectly comfortable. There is a great Tube station within a 10 minute walking distance and an amazing shopping center called Cabot Square made thus even a more attractive location. The West India Quay is a relatively newer neighborhood in Zone 2 of London and walking in this neighborhood was such a joy! This place was expensive but it was worth every penny.
Spacious apartment-hotel with key amenities
Loved our 9 night stay-- 2 BR/2 bathroom, full kitchen suite with a great view of the Quay (pronounced "key"). An easy tube and rental bike ride into central London. Lots of great shopping very nearby (5 min walk). Lovely area in the financial district. Modern, clean, completely safe. Free washer and dryer on our floor came in handy. Would highly recommend, especially for families. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Okay hotel for Canary Wharf business trip
I stayed in the executive apartments for the first time - they were cheaper than the regular rooms and for a 10-day stay. I was looking forward to having a kitchen. Overall the experience was fine, but I would only book again if the rates are lower than other area hotels. Room Nicely appointed, but not extra comfortable. The kitchen was very nice to have, but would have been great to have some staples (even just salt and pepper?!). Please sir, a tiny bottle of soap? There is clearly some maintenance being avoided here...wallpaper is peeling off the wall in a few places. The heat in the room was inconsistent, I was frequently cold. The thermostat was reading 21.5C, but it definitely wasn't! I actually had a thermometer, it was 19C. Turning up the heat up only worked sometimes - I could never figure out why I got heat one time and not another. Hotel Access to a laundry room was nice, but you have to go to the store to get detergent - not even a laundry soap vending machine, I would totally pay a few pounds! The one time I used laundry, there was water all over the floor and the room had not been looked after in a long time. I didn't go to the restaurant, but it looked nice. The bar was fine, but I would expect they'd know more about gin given the extensive gin selection. Two of the bartenders couldn't give effective recommendations. Great location for doing business in Canary Wharf...not for anything else.
Wonderful hotel in a very convenient location. There was a entire evening with no wifi available which could have been handled better. Very limited information provided and nothing done as courtesy to make up for the situation.
Not a five star....
While the staff and the room were lovely overall, my main problem was with the couch in the room. It was so filthy that I could not sit on it for the 11days that I was there. Not only were the seat cushions, arms, and back of the couch visibly stained, but there was also a hole in the fabric of one of the seat cushions. I went downstairs and informed the manager about this. He sent a staff member named Vlad with me to look at the couch. Vlad looked at the couch and said that he would go downstairs, inform the manager of what he saw, and call me in 15 minutes. I never heard from anyone about the couch again and the matter was never resolved.
Good location away from city
Next to train station, quite area, safe, shopping and restaurants nearby, not trendy.
excellent hotel close to underground.
With easy access to under ground touring London was easy and hassle free.
Very nice apartment in canary wharf
It's a bit farther from the famous sights than some hotels, but they provided excellent rollaway beds for our kids, and the staff is excellent. The maids are maybe a little over zealous about tidying, perhaps. A few things needed repairs over the week we were there, but the engineer was Johnny on the spot.
Pleasant and confortable stay
We stayed for a week .Excellent stay . Good comfortable large rooms for family . Very supportive staff , specially the concierge . Easy to travel by DLR / underground next to the hotel . Definitely recommended for a family stay .
Excellent hotel. Enjoyed our stay.
All transportation is close by and easy to access. A bit further from central London than we have stayed before but loved the accommodations and staff. Lots of restaurants and shopping very close. Plan for an extra few minutes to make it into the city.
very nice but odd
The concierge Elvis was amazing! Went over and above what was necessary to make guests feel welcome. We got a corner room which was nice (windows on 2 sides). With 3 people, the room was spacious enough to not bumped into each other. The bed was comfortable. All amenities were as expected. Now, the odd part. Toiletries are not refilled. We stayed for 6 nights and during this time span, shampoos, conditioners and lotions were not refilled. On the first day, we also wondered if toilet paper was refilled or not. Thankfully, it was. The maid service came by every couple of days to replace the towels, pick up the trash, minor cleaning. This I thought was enough but not having toiletries refilled was unnecessary. Location is about 8 stops east from Waterloo station on the Jubilee line. Although you cannot walk to any of the London attractions, they were all conveniently accessible via a 30 minute subway ride. There is a mall with plenty of food options including Tesco grocery just behind the apartment.
My standard semi long term stay in Canary Wharf
Really exceptional service. Very friendly without being over the top.
great hotel
The staff was very attentive to any needs we had. The staff was very friendly and took an interest into our everyday travels. We had an apartment room which was very spacious and clean. I liked the fact this room had a working kitchen.
Great
I loved my stay at the Marriott Apartment Suites. The hotel is sparkling clean & beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and has a good view. The amenities both in the bathroom & kitchen including the tea & coffee were awesome. The only thing I was not happy about was the In room Dining, the food was cold and not tasty--even the pizza was bad & tooo greasy. The cost to have a cot in the room was too high. Overall it was a good experience.
We stayed at the Marriott Executive Apartment during this holiday season. The hotel was great and clean. We arrived at 10am (before the check-in schedule) and the hotel staff has no issue for us to check-in early. The room was very roomy and clean. The service at this hotel was awesome. We stayed at many Marriott hotels around the world and by far, this Marriott has the best service response time compare to other Marriott hotels. We and the kids were very happy with the hotel and will definitely stay here again if we come back in the future.
Roomy and convenient
Beautiful location along the water. Easy access to underground shopping mall and walking distance to several good restaurants and the above and underground rail systems and tube. Spacious suite room for a family of 5, including 3 teenage girls (2 separate bedrooms and a big living space). Helpful staff, lounge was very comfy and friendly for a drink and snacks, especially Christmas day when not much else was open. Manhattan Grill, their restaurant, was just terrific...try their chocolate cake! Would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel.
Get an Apartment and relax
We were very pleased with the size of the apartment. Kitchen, huge bedroom, Large living room, large bathroom. A wonderful place to stay. We would definitely stay there again.
Convenient to transportation and spacious suite
The hotel is adjacent to a DLR station and just a quick transfer, or short walk, to the Canary Wharf underground station. We were in a suite and it was very spacious for a family of four. They provided 2 cots in the living room for our daughters, and there was still room to move around. My wife and I had our own spacious bedroom with king size bed. There is a grocery store (Tesco) in the mall where we could pick up food for breakfast and just eat in our room. If you want to get to the major tourist attractions, you will be taking the DLR/Underground but it is very easy to use.
Fantastic hotel
Very clean and modern hotel. Spacious rooms for families, with great kitchen facilities in the suites. Easy access to supermarkets, shopping, and transport at Canary Wharf. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Excellent Hotel in Canary Wharf
This is my family's second vacation stay in 2 years at the hotel. We stayed in the executive apartments. The hotel is located in a very nice area with good transportation options (DLR and Tube) to all parts of London. The DLR station is right outside the hotel and Canary Wharf Jubilee line station is about a 10 minute walk away . The hotel staff was excellent and the facilities were great. The slight problem we had on checking in was quickly taken care of and more than compensated for by Robert the Supervisor. Great location, Good ambiance. Area full of energy of Canary Wharf - London's second financial district. See a lot of people till late hours. Close to Tower of London, O2, Greenwich etc. The good transport options puts you close to most parts of London. Good shopping in Canary Wharf Station and Cabot Square. This is my number one hotel to stay at in London.
The complete hotel with kitchen
A perfect hotel but a bit of a trek to downtown London
Lots of Room
We stayed in a 1 bedroom "apartment" for 8 nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel is right next to the West India Quay stop on the DLR line (so make sure to get an Oyster card) and a 5 minute walk to the Canary Wharf stop (full service stop). Our room was a very nice size and made our 8 nights there much more relaxing because we had enough room to sprawl out. I've had other friends who have gone to London (from the U.S.) mention that their hotel rooms were pretty cramped so having more room was very nice for us. Our family consists of two adults and two young kids (ages 4 and 6) and there was plenty of room for all of us. We had a really nice view overlooking the wharf but even if you had a room that faced the other direction it would be nice. We got this hotel as a package deal with our airfare so we saved some money there. The room itself was very nice, clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was supplied with coffee, sweeteners, dishes, etc so we didn't really need to buy much else. There is a grocery store nearby (5 minute walk) in the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre mall so you can pickup whatever else you need. Also, the "shopping centre" is a full-blown mall so there's a lot of good stuff in there (including fast, but healthy food options). Right next to the hotel there are restaurants and movie theater and everything is nice and new. The total time to travel to the central part of London is around 30-40 minutes so it's a trek but totally worth it!
Very good location and room size
The Room size, location near the cinema, Shoping center, DLR and Tube is excellent. The size of the apartment for the price and the confort of the beeds are second to none. The hotel staff excellent. We will come back again.
Fantastic room with view of West India Quay
The apartment I was given upon checkin was simply enormous. It had a great kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, stove top and oven. This was incredible value for the price of the room which I believe was on sale through Expedia at the time. It is very convenient for Canary Wharf of course and easy to get into the city via Jubilee line or the DLR. I would highly recommend the executive apartments for anyone looking especially for a longer stay and some creature comforts of home.
One of the best hotels I've stayed at
This was probably the best hotel I've stayed at. We stayed in the executive apartments and that was the best decision ever. We had plenty of room to kinda spread out and it felt a little more like home versus just having one bedroom to stay in for a week. The hotel also does currency exchanges, which was so convenient for us. The staff here was so accomodating and very nice. I loved the area where this hotel is located. It is out of the hustle and bustle of the city, but still within walking distance of a ton of restaurants and pubs. Also, the DLR runs right next to the hotel, so you don't really need to walk very far to use the public transportation. The wharf is beautiful and I would definitley stay here again if we ever go back to London.
Excellent modern hotel in London suburb
This is a true gem within London's proximity. The room is very comfortable with king size bed and ample living area and flat panel TV - The hotel is an apartment with a fully equipped kitchen which will save you quite a bit in your food expenses. There are Tesco and Waitrose supermarkets nearby - they have excellent fresh produce as well as wine and anything else you may need. Getting to central London is a short 15-25 minutes ride on the jubilee line (Canary Wharf stop) - excellent service - you may also want to use the DLR (Canary Wharf or west india quay stops). Canary Wharf - which is where the hotel is located is the new financial hub in London - it is littered with places to eat - from 5 stars to the street vendors. You Cannot go wrong on this hotel.
Apartment in West India Quay
We had an apartment in this hotel to cater for 3 adults. We found the apartment up to our expectations. It was very spacious, with good facilities. We had a security safe in our room, as well as a spacious wardrobe. The security was good as a Hotel card was needed to access the lifts to our floor. We found the Hotel staff very helpful when we needed advise. We were able to access the Hotel via the District Rail Line which joined up with the Metro.. The area has plenty of restaurants and a big shopping centre about 5 minutes walk away.
Great Location
A perfect place to stay with plenty of bars and restaurants
Overnight stay before running VLM - very comfortable, clean, quite and a spot of pre race comfort, ideal location for the race start line - perfect!
Run down - materials in room were worn
