Good but not Great

Location was good, staff wasn't on their A game and not the easiest to work with. Overall a nice hotel but for the price point i did expect more.

Below average motel. Should not be called hotel since they have no room service.

Not worthy for the price

Absolutely not worth the money for what you get. Plain Jane room that doesn't have a bathtub, Internet so slow the TV has to stop n load every 5 minutes, nothing is complimentary it all costs so insanely much even if it is decent it becomes infuriating. Will never stay again and will advise everyone who will listen against staying

TERRIBLE FRONT DESK STAFF

They didn't bother to tell me at check in that the Wi-Fi was out indefinitely. I was there for work and needed it for Zoom calls. They would not make ANY accommodation. No refund, no points, no free dinner or drinks. The girl said "you can leave if you want to but we are not doing refunds" Not worth the money, sketchy area, even sketchier employees

We had a good stay.our only issue was that someone in our group got sick and we needed to stay another night and got a lot of run around- “no rooms available” but there were rooms online. But then we were told we had to change rooms but we didn’t have to. Caused a lot of stress when we were a bit stressed already

Let me start by saying I am a platinum member which means I spend 50 nights every year at various Marriott hotels. This by far is the worst managed hotel I have seen! My room was paid in full in advance yet upon check in, the reception drafted $2600 out of my credit card. When I realized that and asked the hotel recipients about it they were clueless with rude responses! Housekeeping left the room door open after they left for the entire day while I was out leaving my stuff inside exposed then left the dirty linen on the floor in the room another day! Stayed 5 days and asked to speak to the manager “Christina” every day throughout my stay but she was consistently “unavailable” until the day I checked out! How is the manager is unavailable to guests for 5 days and not there to address guest complains?!

Overall very comfortable and easy hotel in the middle of anchorage. My only complaint were that walls are thin and I could hear the neighbor’s music. Also stuffed giant polar bear does not exude eco friendliness

Great BUT

Nice Big rooms BUT breakfast IS NOT included. Also a little on the expensive side. They charge for parking also FYI.

I felt very safe and at home. Unfortunately there was no mini fridge so we could not store our kiddos milk.

Overpriced

Room was clean, but not worth $350/night. No refrigerator in the room, and every ice machine in the entire hotel was out of order. Do not use the valet. They charge $35.00 to park your car in the public parking lot across the street.

Perfect getaway!

I really loved staying here and we will be back! The beds are comfy, the bathroom is amazing and I love the smart TV. Very comfortable room, I didn't want to leave!!

The rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis if you stayed more than 2 days. We were not told that there was not enough help. This applied to the breakfast service as well.

The hotel is clean, and it is in good location near the shopping and dinning area. My only concern is the service. They even not doing the necessary work without being asked for the following nights (refill shampoo, soap... clean the garbage in the garbage can). I've been a Marriott member for years and this is the first time I faced this problem. But anyway, when I asked the hotel staff is friendly doing the work. When I check in, the room key doesn't work, I called the front desk who ask me to stop by to pick up the new room key , I hope that would be perfect if they could deliver the room key to my room. And I hope they could provide laundry service in the property.

Nice Room-Great View

Convenient on-street parking. Room was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the city scape and ocean were fabulous. Several restaurants within walking distance.

Swimming

The hotel was clean, we went for the pool. Unfortunately, it was water was pretty cold.

Could be better

This hotel is extremely expensive and then wants to charge an extra $15 a day for internet. That is absurd, and this hotel needs to rescind that policy. The hotel is old, and could use a few repairs and modernization. Oh, and, a luxury hotel like this should have decent black out curtains given that Anchorage has 24 hours of daylight in June when I was there. The curtains do not stay closed.

It’s decent but not worthy for price

This is good place but probably meant for corporate accounts. Not for family. Lack of shuttle service to airport is a drawback. Clean hotel. Breakfast is okay. Still under renovation. First room we got had noise issues not sure if due to vehicles or something else. Later they gave room that was better. Overall it is clean and comfortable but for the price that we paid it does not live up

Tried it & didn't like it.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I usually stay in Girdwood when I visit Anchorage. The check-in went smoothly but the room was dirty. It didn't look like it was cleaned at all. There was hair all over the bathroom sink and the my wife and I spent the entire night itching after we showered. Upon further inspection of the sheets, it looks like something red was previously spilled on the bed so the sheets were dirty. We won't stay at this hotel again

Excellent

During my recent 3 night stay, there were no rental cars available, so I chose the Marriot because its location was close to downtown destinations and Delaney Park where the Mayor's Marathon was starting and ending. I was glad to be correct. The location was perfect, the room was clean and comfortable and the front desk staff were always helpful. The only mark against the hotel was never once did housekeeping come make up my room. Honestly it wasn't that big of a deal, but I was surprised since that usually happens anywhere else I stay. Even with that said I would definitely stay here again.

Strange times

Showing up to stay during the quarantine definitely was strange. I did enjoy it for the most part but I didn’t get to enjoy the bar or the food that they had. Comfy bed and the luxury of the bathroom.

Older Hotel with First Class Service

Not an updated Marriott but it was in excellent condition and very clean. The front desk was so friendly and valet was quick and on it! I have no complaints!!

Clean, comfortable, great service

The room was very big and the bed was super comfortable. We had hoped to have a bathtub but it was a shower only bathroom and the water was not hot enough - just very warm. We had room service and that was awesome. We were a little puzzled by where the self parking lot was so had to go with the valet parking. Overall, it was a quiet and restful night.

Disappointing given the price of almost $500 per night. Rooms are fine, good size and comfortable. But only one pack of coffees and one small tube of bath wash in room.

Nice hotel in downtown but a bit over priced.

Our room was on a high floor and had a huge window with view of the ocean. I loved the view. The blackout curtains were very good. The room & shower were large. Water pressure it the shower was better than most hotels. The hotel is a couple blocks from the tourist shops but close to the convention center. The staff were all very nice but of limited help with local restaurants & sites.

The stay was very nice but hotels dot com charged me $258 dollars for the night and then the very next day send me a notice that the same room is $130 per night. If you don’t fix this I won’t use you again!!

Didn’t like that I had to pay extra for aweful internet. The rooms are out dated. The shower was difficult to get the correct temperature.

I was very surprised no hair dryer in room, no shuttle from airport and no microwave. Guess they are to ritzy for such things. For 250 a night I feel there should have been. Bed was great. Room grest

Business Trip

Good customer service and comfortable beds.

The hotel was ok. Nothing bad or good. Our room overlooked the roof of the lobby with 20 air conditioners. Room was basic. Restaurant was ok with good service. Lobby was as vanilla as you get. The Captain Cook Hotel around the corner had a much better vibe but we never saw their rooms.

Very clean hotel with VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, as well as breakfast each morning and room service.

Clean and Comfortable But Could Use Some Improveme

They originally tried to give me a room I DIDN'T reserve, but I spoke up and she changed it. Our room was clean but the furniture looked a little neat up. The vending machine was out of EVERYTHING, so down 8 floors to the store which charged $3 for a soda. She was kind enough to only charge $2 since the machine only charged $2. Parking is also limited. You are better off in a pay lot for $1.25 per hour. They charge $30 for "valet" which I found out just takes it to the same pay lot!

Solid hotel

Overall the best hotel I have stayed at in Anchorage over many years of trying almost every one. Clean and comfortable. Not many frills and fairly standard rooms however was nice. Construction was a little downer and noise inside halls was a little distracting. Great location and near everything.

Sea Life Gala

It had the amenities that we needed and the location we needed to be in. Have stayed there before so was familiar with the services offered.

Everything about the Marriott was great. One minor suggestion: move the designated smoking area away from the valet waiting/pick-up area. Otherwise the car smells of smoke when you get in it...

It's a great place to stay for a night or two. My granddaughter and I ate our meals there, too. Very good except for the pizza. No flavor to the sauce. It was convenient.

Great hotel right in the heart of town

I did not like the fact there was no fridge in my room. I have a toddler and would have been nice to keep milk and snacks in my room. For the price my room was very basic.

Alaska Trip

I traveled in from California with my wife on a business trip. We actually stayed at your establishment for 4 nights / 5 days. The only thing that would have made our stay better was the actual need for a refrigerator in our room to store leftovers. I had to go to the local Fred Meyer and purchase a collapsible cooler and keep it in the tub to prevent leakage. Then to top it off the ice machine on the 11th floor was non operational so i had to either go up to the 12th floor or down to the 10th floor for Ice. My next travel plans to Alaska will be to a different hotel that can accommodate this need. Clearly the ice machine could have been repaired within the 5 days that I stayed with you, so clearly my needs were not important as the hotel felt it was perfectly OK to send their guest to other floors for this need?

Convenient location for my work meetings

I chose this hotel due to it's close proximity to the Denaina Convention Center - it was a bare 2 blocks away. And also because Marriott is a well-known chain, often used by my company. However, I was definitely disappointed with the condition of the hotel. It was obvious that the rooms had not been updated recently. The paint on the ceiling was chipping in my bathroom. I thought the bed was comfortable enough. I had difficulty getting the thermostat to register the temperature that I wanted - I would the temperature down, but the heat would not stay on to reach that number.

I'd choose this one first again next time.

Nice stay at the Marriott. Great location. Easy access from airport and to Hwy 1 North & South. Walking distance to lots of restaurants. Captain Cook was too busy as staging area for cruises so this was perfect 2 blocks away and far less commotion.

Best stay in downtown

We love the Marriott .. They're always on top of things. Everything was smooth from check in to check out. Room service was excellent. Everything is very clean. Bed is so comfortable. View was awesome. A bit pricey but I think it's well worth it. If you can get a good discount it's even better. Walking distance to everything which is the main plus. Business center, ATM, little snack place. Bar with food and drinks. Can take a bottle of wine and some glasses to your room. Wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for making our stay wonderful after so much traveling. Nice luxury before going to work for he summer up north. Oh and we got an early check in, so so helpful.

Central Location Downtown

Great location right in the heart of downtown Anchorage. Friendly staff, and a delicious menu for room service. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

Business and pleasure

It was quite relaxing...

Overall it was good. There was a lollipop stuck on the carpet but that was the only gross thing. Other than that the room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly & helpful & facility was nice. I stepped on the carpet pricker & hurt my foot. Complained the next morning when checking out. Staff apologized. When I asked for something in return for minor injury, they gave us a free breakfast buffet. An emergency alarm went off telling us to exit via stairs. We walked down 12 flights of stairs to the lobby to find it was a false alarm. Gym and pool facilities are nice. Surprised they didn't have a hot tub.

Not a good experience

I will not be staying at this hotel again. I paid nearly $200 for one night and received terrible service. I tried to call the hotel a few days prior to arrival to request a king bed, no one answered the phone and there was no hold music. It rang nearly 40 times before I hung up and called the 800 number to help me, when i finally got through and asked if there was a problem with their phones the women rudely responded they were just busy. She interrupted me multiple times on the call and acted as though she wanted to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. After checking into the hotel I tried to call down to the front desk to confirm check out time because they did not post it ANYWHERE in the room. Once again no answer, let it ring about the same amount of time before giving up. When i booked the reservation I requested a low floor because i prefer to use the stairs. Upon arriving to the hotel that evening after dinner and drinks we were told we could not use the stairs, no reasoning. When my boyfried advised they cannot close stair access because of fire hazards we were told rudely that we would have to be escorted to our room by a staff member. We were escorted to the 2nd floor and told we could go up the rest on our own and that there is no real reason for closing the stairs, they just prefer people use the elevators. I have stayed in many hotels at a lower price that have treated me 100 better than this hotel. My boyfriend and I were both very disatisfied.

One Night Stay Before Flight Home

We took the train from Seward and stayed one night at the hotel before flying home the next day. Location was very convenient for both the railroad and the airport. Too bad they don't offer shuttle services considering the price. Breakfast was yummy, but not included. Every service provider at the hotel was excellent! The room was spacious and comfortable.
