Beautiful, good value, once you can check in

Terrible check in - over 30 minute wait. Holiday weekend and hotel had no extra front desk staff. Terrible arrival - due to loading and unloading cars there’s no access to the parking garage. Another 20 minutes waiting to park. All of this could be managed by competent and caring management. Apparently they are lacking problem solvers.

The resort was okay overall but far from a unique and 5-star experience.

Rooms are spacious, balcony is beautiful the only problem was the WiFi is very weak. Restaurant highly recommended especially Zaytouna.

It a nice hotel located in Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khimah, it is quite hotel to spend a few days, the staff in the reception are friendly and they welcome everyone with a smile , thanks to Said and Rahima, the room was excellent and located in the center facing the sea, we loved to have a nice relaxing time in this hotel.

Resort for families with an all-inclusive vibe

Had a one day stay and did not eat anything at the hotel so cannot comment on all facilities. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and felt modern. I particularly liked the large balcony and seating area. In-room service looked good although I never tried it. The hotel got a bit of all-inclusive vibe with fairly loud music at the pool.

Location is good, however the staff need more training. I felt like they are treating me as a one visit client. I would voluntarily come back to hotel unless there is a motivation from the hotel ( offer, good price…etc.)

Older Rooms than you'd expect-odd.

Was surprising to find it a very old feeling hotel in its room accommodations. Lacked plugs by the bed, little things like that...Found the wifi a bit "iffy" my 1st room, bed was awkward, phone didn't work, sink leaked. Front desk was gracious enough to change my room and 2nd room still had a non-functional phone but a nicer view and I appreciated they're willingness to move me with no hassle. Still, rooms feel very "old school" and not so much in the cute or quaint way.

Excellent staff and service. I didn't like the fact that the resort is "dry" (no alcohol) and don't think this was made clear to me enough when booking. Available TV channels were very poor. For a 5 Star Resort, I would have expected much better choice, including much more live sport and movies.

Loved our stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, we had the buffet breakfast and it was great! There are limited dining options on the resort, besides the buffet, so we just ordered take out. My understanding was that there is a private beach but it’s not easily accessible. We didn’t see it when we walked around.

Stayed there the 3rd time and each time is better. The room cleaning guys are amazing. Everyone around is amazing. They wont hassel you for tips or anything. Always smile. Always eager to help. Abs love the way the staff makes everyone welcome. Got a good upgrade. So that was good. Food was ok. Wont rate it the best but the rest of the hotel is just amazing

Nice Facilities but medium Service Level.

Hotel rooms were good with nice balconies, TV should allow for connecting external inputs easily. We booked the hotel for availability of indoor pool since outdoor water is cold now, however children were not allowed in indoor pools and no mention of this online at booking. Published times for Gym, Pirates Club etc are not right they open later and close earlier. Room Service was extremely unprofessional calling us 3 times to correct their offers and then advising lack of availability after 30min. Hotel does not check the requests made at booking, totally unaware. Check-in is slow but they did give us an upgrade for one room with a little extra space. Beach is a shuttle ride or 5-10min walk outside the hotel. Generally, nice rooms and combination of facilities but lack of management attention to details and quality of services.

Great stay

Very good experience, A guy named Ismail was amazing during breakfast and dinner.

I’m honestly disappointed with this stay. I had high hopes but feel as if I were deliberately misled. When I arrived to check in, it was so busy. I parked myself as there was no valet service. Parking in the garage was a nightmare. When I arrive at the lobby, I’m helped quickly to get checked in. I’m offered an “upgrade” to a class of room underneath the one I paid for. Eventually the guy found me a room with a balcony. The room was spacious with a separate living area and bedroom. However, the AC in the bedroom didn’t work. I called the maintenance and he came to fix it. When he fixed the bedroom one, the living room AC stopped working. It was registering more than 24C even though it was set on 20C. The man was condescending, telling me it’s working and it just needs time. The air would change to cool eventually. They left. Next I went to put my belongings in the safe to find it not working either. By now, I’m frustrated. I’m tired from traveling to this hotel and things not working as they should. I go to the front desk and ask for a different room. A different man comes to help and tells me that there are no rooms. That I’m American and love the heat. So the AC not working shouldn’t be a big deal. He tells me he doesn’t have any room available. When I ask for a refund, he magically finds another room in my category. Why make me argue? Now let’s talk the beach. It claims it’s beachfront. In fact, the beach is really across a 6 lane road behind a fence.

Very ordinary place

Check in staff were non professional and non courteous . Our one bedroom suite sofa bed was in very bad condition and hotel amenities are lacking with external pool having cold water and no sandy beach breakfast is reasonable but dinner buffet was very ordinary

A Bad Stay

The whole experience was not good for a 5* hotel , Tv was not working took 5 calls and going to reception to sort out an easy thing as a broken HDMI cable, because the cable was broken we also had no internet for hours. No lock on the door for the balcony, with two young children this was a big problem trying to keep an eye on the kids. The hot water became cold then hot then cold. The rooms were very dark not enough lighting. The transport to the beach was very slow and had to wait a long time for the buggy to arrive. The food a turtle beach, well the oven broke so half the order had to come from the hotel, so the food was cold and over cooked the burger rolls were like concrete. I have stayed at a few hotels at RAK, this is by far the worst, and would never go back, a total waste of money

Amazing stay with little disappointments at lack of shower and changing facilities at swimming pool area

The stay was relaxing..and we enjoyed the stay. The location, view and overall facilities were excellent.. Downside... 1. We booked 2 rooms as a family together but upon check-in the rooms were on 2 different floors!! Only one room was upgraded as compensation. 2. The room infrastructure is appalling... door latches were broken, wardrobe door never shut, balcony chairs has bird poop. 3. The wash room looked rundown, there was no dental hygiene stuff available. 4. Mini bar was empty. 5. Buffet Dinner served at the restaurant was not at all value for money.

Good Location, Good staff received well. Mattress are a bit hard, Lighting in the Rooms are bit low not as shown in the photos of hotel which were very bright. House keeping staff Hafeez is very supportive and followup's very well. Overall its a Good stay.

Not a five star level hotel, dull experience

Bedsheet had blood spot. Curtain had stain as well. Vouchers received as part of stay for the hotel, the prices were hiked up to avail offer, saloon made up their own terms and conditions to avail the offer which wasnt mentioned in the voucher. Nobody as in housekeeping staff understands English. Check-in Lady attitude was like whatever. Old dusty smell across hotel corridors. Overall a dull place to stay in and you come back home with a negative experience.

Don't recommend it at all

They overcharged my credit card & blocked 3x the amount they are supposed to block, Charged me for breakfast, while I had paid for. I never received an invoice. When I complained, I was told that the person who checked me in is new!!!!

Every thing was just a amazing! U had a wonderful time. The pool was so cool. Sandaro from the reception was supportive and helped a lot. Thank ls to him. He did very well.

Lovely stay at The Marjan Resort!!

The Marjan Resort far exceeded my expectations. Lovely place for the entire family to relax. The staff is also vigilant n friendly. We had a problem with our bed and Hafeez from House Keeping was able to resolve the problem quickly. Amir at the Liwan Restaurant was also proactive n helpful. The Zaitouna Restaurant had amazing food and very good service. The promenade is a delightful area. All in all a very good stay.

They were not geared up for the weekend rush , took almost one and half hours to get the room . Rest all were satisfying . They should add some more Indian items in their breakfast menu .

Good welcome at the reception by Ms. Alaa, very helpful in getting the checkin process done and giving all information about the resort in detail and helping kids whenever required. Spacious and clean rooms with good view. Good room service. Breakfast was good and also had good option for Indian BF menu. Overall it was a good staycation and will visit soon again.

Family staycation

Check-in staff should be more welcoming. They did not greet us, nor did they seem pleasant. They left us unattended for over few minutes to discuss something among themselves. Overall experience was pleasant. The pool closes at sunset which is quite early. Also, to go to the beach you need a buggie and after 7 pm there are no buggies to get back to the main building. Food option at the breakfast is limited and repeated items for two consecutive days.

The kids were excited to play pool and outdoor water football but were saddened when they were told about broken pool sticks and removal of water football field.

Don’t go!

Not a great experience, especially at the high rate they charge. Manager at the reception was rude; asking not to stand by my wife at the check in counter (applying social distancing), while a group of 3 gentlemen (seemed not from the same household) were standing together at all times of their check-in. Very strange and obviously double standard. Overall the safety (from Covid perspective) cannot be felt around the hotel, pool and beach. Distance between tables are only for one meter, at the beach it is like nobody heard anything about Covid. Seaweed is covering the whole floor of the sea when you go inside the water. Sand is not soft at all. Water is not offered complementary at the beach. Also at the beach distance between seats are less than 2 meters. You have to take a buggy to go to the beach, as it is not adjacent to the building. If the buggy is late you will have to walk or take your car, and parking is not shaded (you have to cross the road and walk further to get there). We had the standard room which is very humble (furniture, comfort, etc). Mattress is not comfortable. Chair leg was broken. No enough towels in the toilet. When you shower, water will form a pond on the floor. Too much noise from outside the room (we had to put on ear plugs). We requested connected rooms which was not accommodated. Only thing we found good was the service in the restaurant. Quality of food was good, but Variety can be improved though. Overall not a great experience.

Overall pleasant

So 1st we were welcomed by a super rude and unfriendly receptionist called Umut who made our check-in a terrible experience. However the guest relation manager called Alaa called to check if everything is alright and when we told her about our check-in incident, she was very friendly and understanding, they complimented us with free dinner and promised to make our next trip a pleasant one, she also escalated it to the GM who was super friendly and both their attitudes and warmness made us plan ahead for our next trip to the hotel. The beach is lovely, the food was okay The rooms may need some maintenance

To be avoided in holidays period.

The stay was Ok, the hotel and room were clean, but due to holiday season it was almost full and i felt that there was a lack of staff, we had to wait almost one hour for coffee and a piece of cake, breakfast very average, check out took a tremendous time almost 45 minutes dur to too much guests.

It's a Dry hotel so no alcohol is served there , rooms were not very clean specially curtains & balcony , Television don't have Netflix, for the beach we have to outside the hotel as it is opposite of hotel, over all my staycation was not so good choosing this hotel , i was with my family & may be i expected more. but yes breakfast was very nice

LITTLE GEM ON MARJAN ISLAND

The stay was simple amazing any exceeded my expectations. Location is outstanding with stunning views from our corner Junior Suite ( Arabian sea, Beach, Garden, Play areas, board walk and the beautiful stretch of the Main road.).Quiet ambience and very comfortable room with cosy bedding. Outdoor any indoor pools excellently maintained with good controlled temperatures. Lovely hotel and would surely be back.

Not a hotel, terrible place, over reviewed place

It was the worst place named hotel and I stayed in it for less than six hours after changing my room from a bad to worst one then I decided to escape frome this dirty place to a real good hotel in RAK. In this place, never expect you are going to stay in a hotel but it's an old building with outdated rooms and bad smells everywhere. Really the most horrible experience I had ever seen. I rate it less than a star.

We went for a staycation and were very pleased with the hotel, the staff and the customer service. Specially Bishal, he went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. We really enjoyed the beach and it’s amenities. I tried kayaking for the first time, the price was reasonable and the staff very helpful and reassuring. I also liked having the food brought to the beach. The hotel has got spa with gym, indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Friendly and efficient service!

Overall it was the hotel was great and I would recommend this for a family retreat. Everyone working there (incl. turtle beach) was courteous and quick at getting things done. The Lebanese restaurant at the hotel was great, and breakfast/dinner buffets were better than our expectations for variety and quality. A few upgrades to the room, mainly the sofa bed and sliding windows, would make the place perfect.

The customer service in this hotel is excellent thanks to Nishika at the reception. She was so much customer service oriented. She helped us with so many things including extending our stay in the hotel ( we liked our stay so much that we decided to stay 3 additional days), efficiently organizing our COVID-19 test. The hotel has a very nice beach with so many activities, nice pools, great food and breathtaking views. In addition, the cleaning service was excellent. We stayed in several 5 stars hotels during this trip and this hotel is the one we recommend the most. We will definitely come back. Thanks Nishika for making our stay enjoyable!

Very helpful friendly staff, good food, good room service and very nicely kept areas ! The photos of the room I reviewed and booked did not match the actual room at check in. Expedia and or Al Marjan should work on being more exact on these web pages so expectations are level and concise. An upgrade to the room was accommodated to the photo ! Wonderful Place to stay !

Average Property . Certainly not a Resort .

First the Goof Part . The Room Size was big with big bed and clean bath room . The Buffet Breakfast was also good . However the over all property size is small . They have just one pool and that too was not very big which is a let down . They have a no other entertainment / sports facility as site . They have a childrens club which needs to be paid seperately . Their beach is not adjoining the hotel but on the other side of road away from the main property . I would also like to mention that it is a dry property . We had a good time since we had gone in a group . But otherwise it was a slight let down .

Enjoyable Stay

Our stay was Amazing however there were some issues but they were resolved by the Hotel Team. I would say they had a good Room Service & House keeping department. Breakfast was also were good, however, due to COVID situation of NO Self Service, they should have kept more chefs to serve so many guests.

A pleasant stay but with the exception of Nadia, our group experienced a poor welcome and labored, inefficient processing by another member. Nadia was great, her colleagues need to step up

Family staycation sorted. Brilliant!!!

We booked for 3 nights as a staycation for myself, wife and our 4 year old who had the most amazing time. The rooms are great, the view was brilliant and plenty of pool time to keep the little ones busy. The beach experience is brilliant with many water sports activities available (paid separately of course). Staff are friendly and courteous. Food is above average (we took half-board and it was totally worth it). Good options for breakfast and dinner. I requested for poached eggs and the chef made a brilliant poached eggs Florentine. It was amazing. Thank you chef. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We requested and received a late checkout which we really appreciated. Overall 9/10 for a brilliant staycation. If you're looking for a fun, safe, family friendly staycation, look no further.

everything was perfect, people were very helpful and friendly. specially Mohamed he was amazing and super helpful during the dinner buffet and Raj was very polite and helpful also. our stay was amazing, just be aware on the beach about the rope seperates the area between the beach and the water activities area cause that rope is rusted and very sharp, both me and my wife got hurt from it from just touching it, its really super sharp. rather than this everything went perfect.

Great value for money. Outstanding personalised service. Front desk could be more efficient. Children friendly facility. However, that means as a couple looking for tranquility and relaxation, better do not come on a weekend.

Stay at Marjan Island Resort & Spa

Visited Marjan Island Resort & Spa for short stay-cation on my wife's birthday. Overall the hotel is decent. Cleanliness can be improved. There was alot of dust on lamps and other items in the room which are not touched by the cleaning staff. It seems they only change the bedsheets. Hotel staff is very friendly. Food quality is very good. Buffet breakfast was superb. The turtle beach was a massive disappointment. Its extremely dirty with algae floating around. The jetski company is very obnoxious and have no regard for cusotmer service. We tried two days in a row and were told that they are fully booked. Hotel has a nice corniche at the back of the hotel. We were hoping they have a beach at the back like other hotels in the area. The Lebanese restaurant in the hotel has amazing food. Highly recommended. This hotel is good for once in a lifetime stay. The architecture is intriguing. The location is decent. However, we won't be coming back due to above mentioned detailed reasons.

Wide room and clean, but old furniture The location is far from everything, the closest chopping mall is at 10 minutes drive distance The private beach is cross road 5 min walk distance, but during the heat time 5 min is a lot !! Excellent check in and checkout, great job Breakfast was average food quality, the organization was not bad. Most facilities closed due to Covid-19 The pool is very old still, it may need revamping for a 5 stars Breathtaking sunset and walk by the end of the day on the waterfront.

The place was lovely and the staff was polite and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a balcony and a nice view of the water. We enjoyed the beach and had a great family time.

It was an amazing weekend from the start. The check-in process was fast, the room was clean, the amenities in the hotel are amazing. Loved the pool and pirates club. The walkway around the corniche was spectacular with memorable views. All in all the whole family loved it.

Bad stay and mangment

Bad in Reception and Resturant. They messed up my booking multiple times back and forth. Bad communication and service. We stayed in the lobby for 2 hours before we sorted out the issues. And as for the restaurant, they kept interrupting our dinner to ask each of us separately what room we are in as they were depending on a previous booking before i upgraded to more people so they then came and confronted me rudely before they checked the fact that we are indeed the right number for the booking
