Great relaxing garden atmosphere. Nice unexpected little welcoming items in unit.

Highly recommended place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Marchmont Gardens. It was close enough to town but also far enough away to feel a Little bit rural. The treats were much appreciated.

This is a superb place to stay in Hanmer Springs. The unit is spacious, clean and of very high quality. Jan was welcoming and helpful. This would be the accommodation we’ll want to stay in next time we come back.

The property is surrounded by well kept gardens - giving the chance to sit in the room and look out, or go and sit in the gardens and enjoy. The room is well equipped and comfortable. The walk into town is not a major issue. Definitely a place Id happily return to.

Absolutely fabulous place to unwind for a few days. So private and luxurious. Couldn't be faulted. Highly recommended. Incredible hosts that were so welcoming and available when required.

Lovely views and surroundings

Loved the views, the garden and the very pleasant 1.5km walk to town. The unit was generally comfortable - bed perhaps slightly firm and TV a bit small and distant but no big deal. Equipment and supplies were good and the place was spotless. Very good breakfast option. An excellent choice for a relaxing stay in Hanmer.

One of the nicest places we have stayed at in our road trip throughout the South Island. Peaceful beyond words, so much so we decided to stay an extra day. Fabulous host and the little treats were lovely. The gardens at Marchmont Gardens are a sight to behold, and lovingly cared for. We will recommend to friends, family and our overseas visitors. We ourselves will no doubt be returning.

Fantastic accommodation in Hanmer Springs

Marchmont is a little piece of paradise set amongst beautiful gardens. Very comfortable spotlessly clean accommodation with a kitchenette to self cater if you want. Jan is a wonderful host and it is well worthwhile taking the breakfast option to sample all her homemade goodies. We spent 5 nights and enjoyed biking, hiking and soaking in the Hanmer Springs hot pools. This would be the best place to stay in Hanmer Springs

This property is ideal for a couple get away - it is quiet and set in a beautiful garden. The amenities are excellent and the owners lovely. Highly recommend

Great stay

The family only rents out 2 rooms. She keeps them in very good condition and very clean; great value for money... TV channels could be better, though.

First up, have the breakfast. Superb doesn't do it justice. And if its a nice morning, have it in the garden. As for everything else, just perfect. We stayed in Mt Dunblane suite. Everything in the room screamed quality. A few other things. The hosts were fantastic and the gardens are breathtaking. And did we mention the brekky!! Will return. Darren & Jacqui

Superb B&B, self contained cottage in the lovely garden of the owners. Hanmer Springs is a brilliant resort for walking & cycling. Free use of the owners’ bikes was a real bonus. Very highly recommended

Relaxing Stay After Abel Tasman

After our 3.5 day hike in Abel Tasman, our overnight stay at Marchmont Gardens in Hanmer Springs was the perfect way to recharge for the rest of our New Zealand adventure. The room and property were beautiful (even in the middle of winter) and the bed was super comfortable. Also, the french toast breakfast we ordered for the morning was one of the most satisfying meals we've ever had. Would definitely stay at Marchmont again if in Hanmer Springs.

Totally perfect!

There are so many options for accommodation in hanmer but this was by far the best place we've stayed in there. The room was clean, warm, modern, the bathroom was amazing with underfloor heating and plenty of hot water. Lovely little extras like chocolates and biscuits. At 36 weeks pregnant this place was just perfect.

Marchmont Gardens self catering units are delightful, big, modern units situated in beautiful gardens with the mountains as a backdrop.

Private and quiet.

Spacious and modern unit with great facilities and a lovely garden where a glass of wine after a days driving is compulsory.

Like a home away from home beautiful surroundings friendly host a bit out of downtown but we got takeaway and heated it up at home very comfortable bed would recommend to others

Another great stay

This was our second stay at Marchmont and again we were really impressed with the property, the location, and the attention to detail of Jane and Greig; they are excellent hosts.

Really excellent venue in lovely location

This is a fantastic property owned and managed by a charming couple, Greig and Jane, who recently took over the business. They have thought of every detail, from fresh flowers, chocolates, home made biscuits, and an array of DVD's to play. Certainly the best place we stayed in 3 weeks in the South Island of NZ.

My daughter and I loved staying here. It is quiet, away from downtown noise. Surrounded by beautiful gardens. Lovely place. Hope to stay here again.

Great B&B

Great B&B and a fantastic weekend. Easy walk to centre of Hammer (5-10min walk max ). Bindy (owner) was lovely and was a great host. Chalet had everything you needed and was decorated beautifully.

Fantastoc in Every Respect

Simply stunning. This is a fantastic place to stay. Set in a peaceful area with its own garden area complete with furniture and a small summer house. The room simply has everything you could wish for and every item provided is good or even high quality. The hosts are very helpful in every respect and really want you to enjoy every aspect of the room and the gardens and also have a great knowledge of the local area.
