Hotel is not in a good area of the city. No laundry service as advertised. Room air conditioning/hearing did not work. Breakfast buffet was good but pricey. Unfriendly front desk staff (all three people we encountered). Overhyped. I’d stay at the Marriott next time.
Lovely hotel near train
Clean updated rooms. Nice bathroom. Very near the train station.
Great hotel very kind and helpful staff
Chose the hotel due to it's proximity to the city center and the option of parking in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were warm and cozy. The allowed me to leave the car in parking after my check-out and we enjoyed the xmas markets until we had to leave for the airport.
Closed to station with 15 minutes walk to old town
Great service
The hotel general property is good for the Main station area but the lack of English language news channel is a great inconvenience (recently installed large screen Samsung TV set in all rooms) is of little value to international travelers using the English language. When asked why the reception staff replied with a rather cheeky answer saying that other hotel guests would use their own mobile devices for streaming the English language service!!! Also the bar fridge did not work and the hotel employee came and reset the electrical circuit and failed again the next day due to poor wiring. I gave up informing the front desk. I rate it poorly due to the employee attitude and equipment failure. It could have much higher rating as most other things meet the standard. Other major travel websites also have a similar negative guest reviews on these same topic so I am not alone with my unfavorable view.
Great Hotel and very good value for money. Breakfast is very good and rooms are to a very good standard overall. Great location; walking distance to the train station and UBahn but with the location close to the main station results in a lot of groups of men hanging around like most big German cities. That said I didn’t feel unsafe and would definitely stay here again.
Perfect, as usual.
The Marc Hotel in Munich is my favorite place to stay in the city. Every time I visit Munich, I choose to stay there because it feels like my "home away from home." The rooms are not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, giving the impression that you are the very first guest to ever occupy them. The service is warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch that enhances the experience. Additionally, the breakfast offerings are rich and diverse, ensuring a delightful start to the day. Conveniently located on a quiet street just steps from the central train station, the hotel is well-connected by a variety of trams, buses, and subways that can take you wherever you want to go. It’s also only a short walk to Stachus, making it easy to explore many of Munich's popular attractions. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to Munich and will undoubtedly choose the excellent Marc Hotel once again for my stay.
Great place to stay & convenient location
Everyone was exceptionally pleasant to work with. I felt well taken care of during my stay. I even recovered a lost glove that I accidentally dropped somewhere in the hotel. They found it! Safe place for a single woman traveler.
German hospitality?
The room was great. The staff at reception is best described as SURLY. When asked about a PLASTIC bottle of water to take out on an excursion the answer was "We are not a convenience store". When asked about a taxi to the airport the answer was "You should take the bus". When asked about security at the hotel the answer was a shrug. No more visits to this place.
Incident with an overnight Hotel manager! On October 5, at 4AM. Very rude, did not like that I didn’t use the key to open the door (I didn’t know, honest mistake). I may have overlooked the tiny note on the side. Guy flipped on me, my wife and friends at 4 in the morning, I was sincere and apologized but he kept telling me he didn’t want an apology and kept pressing the matter, I told him ok if you don’t want an apology then charge my room for whatever, he said he didn’t want to do that either. Then I told him, hey, I apologized, I offered to pay for whatever, you’re still yelling at me and confrontational with me, what do you want from me!? The guy turns around and walks away and starts typing something in the computer, I don’t know what, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I got hit with unexpected bill or something. My wife and I were genuinely concerned for our safety that night, we locked and barricaded the doors to our room that night, needless to say neither of us could sleep. First time ever we felt we were in danger at a hotel stay ever. Only reason I don’t give this a 1 star, is with the exception of the night hotel manager, the other staff were great, location was great, managers were great, room was clean and tidy with everything working! It’s a shame that 1 bad apple can ruin your stay like that, where this otherwise would be a 5 star review!
Lots of dust bunnies, AC was shut off cause it's already cold outside even tho it's 23C inside the room, courtyard facing room is fairly quiet. It's very near the central station, crowds outside the hotel are questionable Staffs are ok, housekeeping tried to get in to my room even tho checkout is at 11am. For a comparable price, I'd stay at the one of the Ruby hotels. It's more updated and cleaner. I am not sure how this hotel gets a very high rating.
Bravo!
Everything was great
Lovely contemporary guest room. Comfortable bed. Nicely designed lighting. Clean well appointed bathroom with large shower. Front desk was not always staffed and the front door was left open which made me question their security. The elevator does not require a key card to operate which I normally see in urban hotels. Location is convenient, but the area felt a little sketchy - not dissimilar to other large cities.
Outstanding property and service! Perfect location relative to the Hauptbahnhof and altstadt/old town. Best air conditioning in Munich, I think. Will be my go-to choice from here on.
Close to station and city centre. Getting around on foot was easy. The hotel was clean and friendly. The bed was comfortable.
The hotel is conveniently located near Munich Central Station, and within 10 min walk of the city center. The room was modern and nicely furnished. Bathroom was spacious, with complementary toiletries and a great shower. The reception staff was extremely cheerful, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The hotel has two downsides. One is the area which feels very dodgy during the day AND night. It might be the “central station effect”, but one should really keep an eye out (and also keep open eyes where one stands). The other one is the cleanliness - while not atrocious, there was lots of dust everywhere, and it was clear that the floors were not cleaned in a very, very long time.
Clean smart adults only hotel near the central station in Munich town centre. We enjoyed our stay.
Very clean luxurious hotel in the midst of all that Munich has to offer. Highly recommended !
Great location and really nice, professional and helpful staff. Nice and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Everything was perfect. The only thing was that the safe at my room didn’t work but it was not a big issue. You have a lot of restaurants nearby, the main train station is so close so you can walk from there. I’d stay there again any time.
No room service or food available.
The property was in a convenient location, however there were a little noisy and dirty near the property. Property itsself was cute, the tv wasn't working and apparently no English programs according to the staff. It was mostly serving the local people.
Nice hotel. But in the middle of a bad area. Stores have broken windows. Sofbs to say thunk twice before robbing. To make matters worse we were out for 12 hours and came back at 11pm to a wide open door in our room.
The hotel is close the train station. It looks very new. Walkable to the main Munich shopping street. It’s convenient to take the subway and other public transportation. A lot of restaurants nearby. The staff very nice.
Didn’t like the area around the property.
Short trip through Munich
The area around the hotel was not the best. Homeless and other people just milling around. Nothing was very close And the staff was not helpful
Nice hotel in not great neighborhood
Nice hotel in not the best neighborhood. Lots of people standing around for no apparent reason outside. We were on motorcycle trip and concerned about our bikes at night. Staff went from a little snooty to very nice. Breakfast was good.
Great hotel near Munich Hauptbanhof
An excellent hotel just a short walk from the main train station. I loved my room which was very spacious and had air conditioning! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again!
Very helpful staff. The location is very convenient.
Very nice and clean.
The room was quite large and comfortable. I loved that the bathroom had a night light - so convenient for, um, late night visits. The staff were great. We were caught up in the Munich floods in early June,2024. No trains were running. The staff easily made sure we had a room until we could get a train, which took a couple of days. And they help us contact our next hotel to make sure they knew what was happening. Fantastic help when we needed it. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the main train station, yet is very quiet. A Rossmann drug store is just down the block, as in a major bank.
Another perfect stay at the Marc Hotel.
I recently stayed for four nights at the Marc Hotel. It was my second time there, and once again, it was fabulous. The hotel is just a few steps from Munich's central train station, making it easy to get to and from the airport. For those who prefer public transportation or exploring on foot, the Marc Hotel is a perfect choice. Numerous trams and metro lines pass nearby, and the hotel is within easy walking distance from the vibrant Marienplatz area and other tourist attractions in Munich's center. The hotel is clean and modern, and the reception staff is welcoming and helpful. The bathroom is excellent, and the bed is super comfortable. I must compliment the Marc Hotel on its breakfast. The buffet is rich and generous, with many choices for every taste. Ms. Salman welcomed us in the dining room every morning with a smile and small talk, making us feel "at home." I highly recommend the hotel, which will be my first choice on my next visit to Munich.
Within 5 minute walk from main train station. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The hotel was clean and the room was an adequate size. It was quiet and the bed was comfy. The only negative is that on our last morning the cleaning lady knocked on our door before 9:00. I responded to her knock but she opened the door anyhow. I told her we would be out by check out at 11:00. At approximately 10:00 she knocks on the door again. The manager took our room number and said he would address the problem.
Stay
The hotel falsely attempted to charge us a fee for two people when originally nothing of that sort was listed on the website. It was very disappointing to charge extra for an additional person when we didn’t at all use any extra resources. I don’t like being taken advantage of and this was not appropriate at all to treat a foreign guest this way. Other than that, the facilities was an okay time just wasn’t so happy with this behavior of somewhat taking advantage
very convenient hotel rooms are big and confortable, although size varis a lot. in the 4 rooms we booked one was clearly much smaller, although reception told us all were the same. bed are not the most confortable in my opinion
Modern excellent location to train station.
Reception staff extremely helpful with providing info. I hv asked for a kettle and they hv promptly sent it to the room. Bathroom comes with a heater which is useful. Location is perfect and near to train station and lots of eateries. Only thing is tissue papers are not replenish in the toilet.
Great hotel. Comfortable room. Helpful and friendly staff.
Very clean, and staff are friendly during my stay. Breakfast is good. Also walking distance to center city and one of the best commercial and culture areas.
Very near to HBF, huge plus on that. Several supermarkets nearby and walkable to Marienplatz. Room size was good and good water pressure. Amenities are on the average, slightly limited.
Very clean generally. Reception Staff very efficient and friendly. Very cosy atmosphere. Would recommend it to anybody.
Nice hotel close to the central train station.
The hotel is 5 minutes from Munich Hbf and convenient. However, there are quite a number of people begging along the streets leading to the hotel and while the crowd may look intimidating, I had no issues during my stay at the hotel. The hotel room is comfortable and they provide a full mini-bar with a bottle of water for the first day.
It was very close to the main train station so it was convenient to take day trips. There is also a Lidl nearby if you need any snacks. The place was clean and comfortable.
The staff was great and the property was properly cleaned.
Great kocation, quiet and modern hotel
Very pleasant place, modern and attractive looking, a quiet place, while being in a great location for those wanting to be close to the central train station, the Haultbahnhof and its subways and underground stores. Our 2nd stay here in 2 years. Our room was large and quiet, with fridge. Marienplatz nearby.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is walking distance to city center and the New Town Hall area. The rooms were clean and quiet. Courtyard parking was secure and convenient. We will stay here next time.
Great customer service
Qqwwq
It was close to everything. Modern property with nice staff.
The service from the staff, the location and the facilities were good. The only thing that bothered us was the constant noise all night long, we stayed for 2 nights on weekdays and we always had a lot of noise until around 3am in the morning coming from the inner courtyard of the hotel. Our room wasn't even facing the street and we still had trouble sleeping.
I loved the free water dispenser (including sparkling) which helps reduce plastic waste. Good service and the room is well-designed and modern.
Great if you plan to take the train/metro. Front desk sells train tickets. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good hotel in Mitte, spacious room, did not like bed much because it was two single beds but not joined so they kept separating from each other. Breakfast was expensive so decided to take breakfast inside room with stuff from supermarket nearby. Also U station nearby made the transportation easy.
Superb
Very very good. Modern convenient and very comfortable and clean.
Would stay here again.
Would stay here again. Nice room, with coffee maker plus coffee, fridge, shampoo/conditioner provided. Very close to the central station that takes you everywhere. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about the places to visit and how to get there. Heat wave in Europe and they had a water cooler in reception for you to drink before/after your adventures in town.
Stayed just one night, but no complaints. Comfortable, secure, quiet and convenient. Being near the main railway station, the local area is a bit "meh", but it's ideal for visiting Munich's sites.
Staffs are very kind and friendly. I could buy one day ticket of public transportation in Munich at front counter of Lobby. I also got the advise about the ticket from the staff. It's very useful. Thank you so much.
Excellent property and wonderful room and bed. Luxury!
The Marc Munchen is very convenient for travelers, across from the Central Station (the S-8 takes you right to the airport terminal in 45 minutes for 13 euro) and less than half a mile from old town. The hotel is comfortable and quiet, with a helpful staff on duty 24 hours. Excellent Italian restaurant right on the corner. Tour operator meeting spots were only 5 minute walk away.
Breakfast was perfect - room was clean - front desk staff kind and helpful - very pleasant easy one-night stay.
Excellent. Great hotel great stay
Came to Munich for 5 days vacation. Got an executive room with courtyard view. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. A great big bathroom, closet space, sitting space, coffee machine, minibar and I asked and got a kettle for making tea. The hotel is great. Nice staff. Loved that they have a water machine in the lobby so guests can bring reusable water bottles and fill them up. That was great. The hotel is just a few meters from the central train station. Lots of public transportation options. Some coffee shops and grocery stores in the near area. Good location for walking around Munich old town. For me the room was great. Big enough to workout in. The hotel doesn’t have a gym, but there’s one near by that allows day use for 25 euro. Great hotel, great stay.
Hotel is near main train station. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable with large bathroom, coffee maker, and minibar. Old city sights are a short walk away. We enjoyed our stay here.
Definitely recommend the place
Excellent property in the heart of Munich a few 100 Meters from Munich Central Station. Large and spacious rooms. Enjoyed my stay there. Wanted to extend an extra night but hotel was full.
Everything Perfect!!
Location. Breakfast. Service. Room Condition. Everything good. We were told that first day breakfast was complimentary but on checkout we were charged as the reception person had changed. Otherwise all good.
Great hotel in a convenient location. Only issue is google maps has it one block off of its location. The shower was really really nice and the rooms were very clean. I would purposely stay again.
I found this hotel to be a fantastic value. I stayed for 5 nights and it was super quiet...very peaceful and quiet facing the inner courtyard. The breakfast buffet was excellent and I went every day. This hotel doesn't have amenities like a pool/gym etc..but that isn't what I was looking for. I thought the rooms were incredible, totally remolded and crisp. The lighting and layout was wonderful. It was one of the nicest rooms I stayed in on my 3 week vacation. Only downside is the neighborhood is a bit edgy...it's near the main train station so this isn't like walking around the main touristy area. That said, it's super close to public transportation and walkable. I think the restaurants in this area are better than the main tourist area. Better value and more authentic food. Personally I loved staying over here I could walk 15 minutes to the main attractions and then take an uber back or just walk. Staying over there would easily add almost double to the room price. Overall this hotel was a home run for me.
Stayed for two nights. Very nice hotel. Very friendly staff and great breakfast selection. Would definitely stay here again. Only negative i have to say is my wife was approached by a homeless man begging for money while waiting for me in the car. Scared her.
Very contemporary interior and clean. Service and breakfast was excellent. It is near the train station and so is convenient. The area is ok but only 10-16 min walk to the old town center.
Clean, pleasant stay. Would stay again!
Very nice, attentive and professional staff. Excellent room that completely blocked out any noise. Comfortable bed. Did not use the refrigerator or any bar items but the refrigerator was not working (it was plugged in because the light was blinking). Only bar items available were the few bottles in the warm refrigerator. The other listed items were not there. The breakfast totally made up for the lacking bar and then some!
This hotel was located close to the railway station and a 15/20 minute walk to Marienplatz. Although the room was quite small there was adequate storage and hanging space for clothes etc. Reception staff very friendly.
Nice, clean, quiet and modern. Walking distance to the train station. Good place to stay.
Great Hotel - Clean & Friendly Staff
Excellent Hotel in an excellent Position. For a stay in Munich buy the 9 euro travel card which will get you from the Airport to the Hotel and then all your further Travel round Munich during your Stay - Amazing.
The place is very nice, and in particular the staff - very cordial and helpful. The only downside to the hotel is the street and surrounding vicinity: close to the train station but not clean
Close to train station
Lovely hotel near Trains and a quick walk to Karlsplatz. Hotel is clean and bright, staff was friendly and helpful. Nice lobby for nightcap and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The price was well worth it . Neighborhood is a bit run down seems like a great deal of backpackers but overall ok. Grocery store nearby as well as a fantastic Italian restaurant ($$) that though a bit pricey for some was absolutely worth every penny.
The accommodations and staff were great. The hotel's close proximity to the train station and the city center make it extremely convenient. The breakfast buffet is very good.
Good
Clean and comfortable. Close to train station.
Good hotel with parking in central location
We enjoyed our stay at the Marc! Super conveniently located with parking onsite. The staff was exceptional and provided us information on the city, activities, and the best routes for our ongoing travel. Would highly recommend.
Great hotel
Very nice hotel. Clean, comfortable and very convenient location. Breakfast is great but pricey. Would stay again.
Excellent place overall to stay. Modern, clean and super comfortable.
Close to the central train station and city center area. Even though I stayed on the top floor, still lots of banging and noise during the night. Not sure if because I was close to the stairs or people walking to the elevator at night. Staff friendly and very clean hotel. Room was nice, good A/C on hot weekend, and nice shower. Would stay again for the convenient location.
Great location very near the train station and within walking distance of major attractions. Spacious, well appointed room with quiet courtyard view. Reception was excellent. Jean-Claude was welcoming, professional and helpful, answering all our questions.
Adequate, but certainly not Superb
I chose this hotel mainly because of the excellent reviews which it received on Hotels.com, which gave it an overall score of 9.2 (Superb). It's a perfectly adequate hotel, but it's far from Superb. Location - The location is fine - it's not that posh but you certainly don't feel too worried about being there after dark. Check-in - The check-in process went fine, but the receptionist didn't seem that interested in me - he didn't ask me if I needed any help with anything, no explanation of where things were in the hotel. He just handed me the keycard and pointed me to the lift. Room - It was fine; a standard small and relatively cramped European city centre hotel room. The room was booked as a twin, but only for me - thankfully, since there was no way to separate the two beds from each other. The beds weren't made up - the duvets were folded up on the beds, so you first had to make your own bed. This was repeated every day. Room Facilities - There were glasses in the room, but no water (or any other drinks), no tea or coffee making facilities, and no iron and/or ironing board. There was a basic selection of bathroom toiletries supplied. Only about 60% of the TV channels were working, only 2 in English (CNN and the finance news channel). I didn't have breakfast as the breakfast was 20.50 Euros a day – I've been charged less in a 5* Hilton in a major European city than that for breakfast. There's a supermarket at the end of the street, so I could get pastries and bread though.
The location is fantastic and the decor, both in the common areas and rooms is very pleasing. The front desk and restaurant staff were very accommodating and friendly. The only criticism concerns the bed, which was very hard. Otherwise, a great stay.
Room was clean, but warm. AC had not been turned on yet for the summer. Convient location.
Really liked the room, the furnishings and bath were nicely done. The room was very quiet and very comfortable. The location was great - 5 minutes walking distance from the train station and a 15-minute walk to the old city hall. While the area is a bit sketchy with a lot of mobile phone stores, etc. but we never felt unsafe. There were a few markets in the area to get cold drinks but they tended to close early. Constructive criticism for management; lower your price for breakfast! At $18/pp it was expensive and not nearly as good as the Hilton in Vienna at $10/pp. I never saw more that 3 tables occupied which made it hard for the staff to keep food fresh. In spite of that, I would stay here again for sure.
Clean and Reasonable
It is clean and very reasonably priced hotel. If you have to stay near the train station, just stay here.
Very clean and quiet. I would come again.
Great value!
Great hotel. Great location. Very fast check in. Nice staff. I would stay again. Good restaurants and shops nearby. 5 min to old town. 5 min to the train.
Super Hotel
Perfect Hotel with perfect staff
Super Hotel
Amazing Hotel with Super staff
Big room comfortable bed
Nice big clean room with king bed , friendly staff
Very good
Quite frankly, the name of the hotel was at first a bit misleading towards some red lights, but this was not the case, the place was very good value for money indeed. The room was spacious with an excellent large bed and brilliant shower. Breakfast and overall service were also top quality, especially the extremely nice and helpful reception staff. Some people might not be fond of the street the hotel is on, but I had no problem with that, quite on the contrary: the location is quite perfect, a couple of minutes from the main railway station and an easy walk to old town. I'd absolutely stay here again.
Clean and comfortable
Great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Seems like mostly people stay here for business.
If you are looking for some place quiet, this is not the hotel for you.
