Great stay! It was a little chilly at night because the blanket was quite thin. Otherwise great stay, comfy bed, good pillows.
The bed sheets were incredibly soft, but did have a very strong chemical smell. The towels were, on the other hand, very rough. Would have enjoyed ketchup for the breakfast sandwiches. Overall, a good stay ☺️
Overall the hotel was in great condition. They are currently doing work on the property so the areas that need attention is getting it.
Easy to book, bed was comfortable, breakfast included. Asked for extra towels prior to checkin and they were available for us at checkin. There were signs that renovations were in progress so some of the common areas look like renovations were coming but overall a good spot for an unexpected night's stay due to winter storm.
Property was in a great location.
Nice, clean, well furnished place. Undergoing upgrades and renovations -- which I express as a positive. Fine room at an excellent price. Thanks.
Good
The room was clean and very quiet. I didn’t get a chance to checkout the breakfast but heard there was a good selection.
The staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean, quiet and had everything I needed
Extremely clean and well run and organized.
The staff person at the desk was rude and abrupt. I sense he has issues with women. The area was “being worked on” up to my room. Could have been signed better. There is no elevator? If there is the rude attendant did not mention it.
Short stay
Comfortable quiet and pre covid pricing
Room was good staff great
Helpful staff.
Check in was easy. Parking is ample. The walls are a bit thin, so to speak but good visit.
Everything was fine with the exception of no bath mat in the tub. It was very slippery while taking a shower. I slipped and almost pulled off the shower curtain and caught myself on the edge of the tub.
This hotel is carrying important interior renovations. Corridors, steps and general areas are dirty and unfriendly. Client should be alerted of that before reservation. Besides we have experienced an electrical problem (main transformer) who’s kept us in the dark one evening from 8 to midnight.
The location is good, close to the highway.
Good customer service, friendly and personable. Clean rooms.
The hotel and staff were great and wonderful.
Stay away. Not a family oriented hotel. For the price you pay 176$ poor breakfast! Nothing for kids, receptionist mentioned only muffin for kids and not even chocolate milk, you have to prepare your own oat. Inappropriate program on tv in the food lobby. Room renovated but not well cleaned.
I really don't like to leave bad reviews. We came to the Ramada to stay in Kingston to finish off our honeymoon. Upon entering, the hotel looks more like a motel that got bought by Ramada, which isn't a big deal, we're not ritzy people. We checked in and started walking down the halls which were not well kept. No wallpaper on the walls, dings and scuffs everywhere and the carpets were shoddy. The front desk attendant informed us that they were doing renovations, but it was a Thursday and we didn't see any contractors or evidence of contractors anywhere. The room was clean, it had clearly been updated, but the tv wouldn't work, and the coffee maker didn't work. It had been about 5 minutes since we arrived so we went back to the front desk to see if we could just part ways, we didn't feel comfortable there, and we just wanted our money back and we would leave. No harm no foul. We were instead asked what was wrong with the room. I explained that well the room had been updated, the amenities didn't work, and honestly, we just didn't feel comfortable being there. Front desk refused a refund and check out, so we were kind of out of luck on that part. We did end up staying and they were able to get the tv to turn on, the picture quality was absolutely awful and fuzzy. Breakfast was cereal, or microwavable breakfast sandwiches. When we checked out I got a $20 refund because of the tv and coffee maker. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be back
Great service, newly renovated
Hidden Gem
The Ramada is a smaller, quaint hotel. Currently being upgraded but no noise or disruptions. This was our second stay since September. The hotel offers comfortable beds, a variety-filled breakfast, updated/upgraded rooms and very good service. Greeting was excellent as was check-out. Great value for cost. Will be returning.
staff is always kind - clean rooms!
They are renovating the second floor. What a mess
The name Ramada was slapped on, but still looks and runs like a 1 star hotel.
Staff were friendly!
Staff very friendly, the room was very clean
i like this hotel it’s nice - but i asked for pillows as my king room only had 3 and they said they couldn’t get into the pillow room .. also wanted towels and they called my phone at 6am woke me up for towels ..
Only ever 2 towels in a room, Rooms are renovated and beds are comfortable. Lots of homeless staying here but overall a good stay.
Breakfast very simple and rooms not very clean.
The staff were polite and extremely helpful and willing to please. The suite was clean. The refugee guests at the hotel were not considerate in the breakfast lounge. Very loud and emptied most of the food before the other guests could arrive.
Definitely a quieter end of Princess St. Signs up for Reno’s, but did not affect the stay at all. Room very clean, looked like it was recently painted and furniture fairly new. Good value for price point
Room was nice and renovated. Neighbors were extremely loud at 3:45 am. After calling the front desk twice they asked us to go knock on our neighbor’s door and ask them to quiet down. NOT appropriate. Totally unacceptable.
Rooms were clean and bed comfortable…breakfast well let’s just say we went to Tim Hortons second morning and there is a train horn a couple of times every night
Check in was seem less, very friendly staff, with positive attitude, tried to help as much as they could, definitely coming back
The room was almost like brand new. The hotel on the other hand would be nice if they upgraded it like they did the rooms.
First of all, room was nice and very clean so I was comfortable during my stay BUT the internet was very weak, the cable reception was poor and there were not any gathering spaces at the hotel so I really was limited to my room and would have liked a bit more entertainment. The facilities outside my room were very dated and in need of a refresh but I believe that may have been in process.
Don’t judge a book by its cover!! The lobby area is begging to be updated…. And like us, you might think… oh no… what did I book? But don’t despair!! The rooms are updated, bright, modern and clean! And the staff is friendly and very helpful
The "hotel" is in fact an old, tired 2-story motel that has been taken over by the chain, with some renovation. Dark & dank hallways. Scratched doors. Old electric baseboard heaters. Scratchy cheap towels. Breakfast has no hot food except for pancakes, and all cutlery, etc. is disposable. Far too expensive for what you get. Not good value for money.
Great location to the college so we could move our son in. Comfortable beds. We slept great.
Gentlemen at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. The chambermaid did not close our door after leaving us towels. stairwell had cobwebs and spiders all over lights and windows, and the railings were sticky and dirty. And there was limited dining space. The pictures were deceiving.
Last minute comfort
Needed a hotel at the last minute and this one exceeded expectations. While common areas are undergoing a face life, the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Cleanliness is 100%
Great stay! Nice staff ready to help, and very clean stay. I recommend this place to others who are travelling.
Not sure how it had so many high ratings- was very old , dated- no common areas- for $200 a night, should be nicer
Property was dated in decor but everything was clean and the staff were friendly. What more could you ask for?
We were pleasantly surprized as we opened to the door to our room and saw how freshly updated it was. I am sure once the hallways and stairways are completed, this will be an amazing property.
Very comfortable beds. Quiet and clean building. Staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient location close to everything. Thanks 😊
Very clean, which is beyond expection
Friendly staff. Very clean and updated rooms. We had breakfast at 9 and choices were limited. The pancake machine was not working.
For the price it is ok
Moderate hotel - Great service.
The front desk service was fantastic. The rooms were fine and the bathroom was updated and clean. Better quality towels would have been nice. The rooms are renovated and updated whereas the outskirts of the hotel could use some updates. Overall, the value was fine for the price that we paid. Would stay again.
Great service at the front desk I took them my parents had walkers and change us to the first floor and ass door outside from the car to make it better for them
This hotel was decent and in a good location. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly.
Front desk person in the morning was very helpful, pleasant and friendly, as we were non-vegs he quickly brought us non veg breakfast with no hesitation.
The one nice photo is deceiving. The property really should be demolished. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Room/bathrooms newly renovated. Free breakfast and free parking. Good value for what you pay for.
The breakfast is very bad.
It was convenient. Our room was clean. Staff were lovely
The hotel is located along one of the main streets, so it can be easily found. The hotel is currently under renovation. My room was quite new and spacious; the refrigerator was bigger than the "standard" size for other hotels and there's even a microwave in my room. A shopping center was nearby. The breakfast was simple with limited selection.
Nice Choice For Train Travelers
Worked for me! Nice, cozy property with decent rooms at a good price. Convenient to the VIA Rail station, and even more so to Kingston Transit busses, right out front.
Everything good
The room was clean and the breakfast was great. The only thing that could be improved is the coffee. Otherwise everything was awesome. We would give them a 4 1/2 star rating
Beautiful
Bedding was not at all comfortable and the dining area was too small. It was not worth 200$per night
Very good
Breakfast not good, kitchen too old
The common areas of this hotel look dated, but it appears the rooms are being renovated as our room was entirely new, including bathroom, all furniture, bed, bedding, etc. Slept very well! TV was brand new, but the signal coming into it was not HD, making the picture not great. Breakfast was decent with a selection of cereal and milk, oatmeal, on demand pancakes, toast, orange juice, yoghurt. Premade breakfast sandwiches were heated on demand in the microwave but were pretty tasty. Staff were helpful and friendly.
My only negative point is that they don’t clean your room every day even if you pay the same amount each day.
The hotel is currently under renovation, but I see great potential. The staff were very friendly and responsive and the rooms were comfortable. The location is also convenient for people using public transportation.
Bien
Bon hôtel pour un court séjour (1 nuit). L'offre de déjeuner inclus est très bien. La salle de bain de la chambre est belle et rénovée.
Ramada-Kingston Ontario
Typical average hotel. We stayed only one night. Check in was easy. It looked like the hotel had been renovated. I don't know when. The beds are comfortable. The only issue we had was the A/C was leaking and made a rather large puddle of water on the floor when it was running. Needless to say the floors were the laminate wood so clean up was a breeze. I did mention it to the front desk when we checked out. Typical free breakfast. Nothing to fancy. The coffee wasn't very good. I overheard a few other guests saying they were not fond of it. I would prob stay again. 4/5. The price was about $220 per night. So about average.

Not up to Ramada standard. Breakfast was horrible. Coffee was not worth drinking. Bed was noisy.
