This is a great option for larger families and this is our second time staying here. I've taken one star off for not having air conditioning as the upstairs gets very hot. Unfortunately they don't have AC to keep the bedrooms cool. The Doors and windows don't have any fly screens so you can't leave them open as you'd be swamped by bugs and mosquitos if you leave the doors and windows open to cool the place down. They need to install AC in all bedrooms rooms and living rooms and or put screens on doors and windows.

The unit was basic, with a run down courtyard area and old furniture in the lounge dining. Pretty disappointing actually.

It is a nice spacious apartment in a quiet neighborhood. It is close to the town center with shops, restaurants and supermarket. Unfortunately, the management didn't clean the apartment thoroughly because there was still strong odor (food smell / cooking from previous occupants). Also there was no paper towels or dish / cleaning cloths in the kitchen. Good thing was that the bedrooms upstairs were not impacted by the odor.

Amazing place to stay in

Very very nice double-storey house to stay in. Exceeds my expectation as the place is so nicely furnished and comfortable. We had a unit with living, dining, kitchen, two toilets, two bedrooms and a garage. Really amazing to stay in here. Wifi is strong and I can' ask for more.

Great property. Lovely and roomy, very happy

Unable to check in on time because of lack of staff to clean rooms. The apartment has steep steps inside which are not good for kid, elderly & even all ages. The steps are slippery. A review of the kitchen utensils is needed especially the chopping boards. The bathroom sink was disguising. The overflow drain was disguising & looks like it has never been cleaned. The apartment itself was lovely when you walked in & a very quiet location.

Not many options in Lake Tekapo. This is a good one Heating was a little wonky but the gas fireplace was great. Used the hottub and that was great after a day of hiking. Easy walk to town.

Spacious

The apartments are spacious and are very well appointed. The outdoor facilities are very good. The only monus is some apartments are closed to the highway and rooms are not soundproofed. Apartment's located further down the site would not be affected from the road noise.

Nice place with great possibilities

We enjoyed our stay in Lake Tekapo, a great place to visit. The Mantra Lake Tekapo was very comfortable home with plenty of room. Overall was very good. Things that were minor things: when asked for propane to replace in the community grill, it do not get replaced in our 3-night stay. Hot tub did not work and emailed about a problem with ceiling light, we received no response.

This is a great place to stay when exploring the Lake Tekapo area.

Very nice accommodations. Plenty of room and the kitchen was well equipped. Neighbors weee quiet, location was easy to find and close to everything.

Quite, peaceful and beautiful well equipped property

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this hotel. The staff proved unhelpful, and due to the deplorable condition of the upper floors, I was forced to relocate all mattresses to the ground floor, enduring a night of discomfort sleeping on the floor.

Lovely Place, secure and central to where we wanted to be. Staff were lovely and helpful!

Nice property

Place was beautiful and right next to the lake. Managers on site to answer any questions. Pool was perfect and had a great hot tub. Perfect for families. Easy access to the highway and road to Mount Cook. Would stay here again.

Booked a 2 bedroom, unit was very spacious and clean. Had 2 separate bathrooms. Well appointed, bed was comfy. Walkable to town and the church. Would stay again.

Would recommend and def stay again

Two night very comfortable stay at Mantra Tekapo. The lovely host was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Well equipped room with full amenities, two balconies and outdoor area with seating. Close to village shops, short and flat walk. Will def look to come back in Summer with a larger friend group as I think the pool, spa, bbq/fire pit area are the perfect set up for a lovely afternoon relaxing in the Tekapo.

Our townhouse at Mantra Lake Tekapo was very comfortable and in a convenient location close to the centre of town.

This property backs up to the highway. It smells unclean. Very expensive relative to other options in the area.

Lovely area walking distance to Town over the walk bridge and lakeside walking track. Layout of apartment & backyard is spectacular. The apartment overall requires basic maintenance. Marks on walls, TV & gas fire did not work.

The property is modern, clean, fully equipped, very comfortable and conveniently located. It is perfect for a one night stay or a one month stay. We travel a lot and this property really stands out. If we ever get back to Lake Tekapo we will definitely stay at Mantra.

Spacious apartment, very comfy beds. Decor tired.

After our arrival we called the front desk to ask if they have a child gate for the stair, no one answered, we left a message but never get a reply. The carpet around the entrance and the kitchen were very dirty. The condition of the kitchenware were very bad, the two frying pan were full of scratches and for a 3 bedroom house we only get four bowls. The kitchen and toilet including the bathtub were fairly clean, but we got only 2 packs of dishwashing powder and no extra garbage bag for 4 night stay, though they responded pretty quick when we asked for more. There were a lot of tiny incests in the bathroom, and spider net out of the windows. One of the window had cracks on it I can’t let my child approach it. In the house manual it said the apartment will be service every third day but we never see people come. The garage was very small after our car go in we barely can open the door. Lack of entertainment the tv had no youtube Netflix and the sky tv is still low resolution . We had a look of the pool but the water look cloudy. Overall i was paying money for hotel but having everything like living in a hostal, terrible.

It was a lovely property with great outdoor spaces.

A little old and tired, but it was nice and clean. Kids loved the pool. 2 bedroom apartment was a great size, garage, courtyard, bonus to have own washer and dryer too. We would stay here again.

Nothing that I didn't like. I liked the homey feel, how spacious the townhouse was, the heated floors in the bathroom, the large kitchen, the beautiful garden/back yard, the covered and attached garage, the full size washer and dryer, the large family room with TV.

Pretty, flash but noisy

Unit is flash & clean, stove is gas quite cool! Problem is the noise coming from the road. All bedrooms were noisy during the night. We decided to leave one night earlier die to the discomfort of a noisy room. And we paid for it... So, if you want to join luxury stay with quietness dont go Mantra 29.

Impressed

We had a lovely stay. The manager (not sure if he was also the owner) was friendly and helpful. The place is starting to show some signs of age but is kept incredibly clean (I am very fussy) and comfortable. Well done. We are impressed.

Fail!

Loved the place upon arrival. However as time went on we found the TV didn't work. Reception got somebody to help. Somehow they fluked the correct remote button sequence and it worked that night. But no tv the next night. There was no controls for the living area heating. So we had very cool evenings with -2 outside. Half of the electric blanked did't work. By then we were getting quite annoyed. The reception seemed to close around 5pm, so to get any help we needed to call another property for any help. Just too much trouble after a big day out. To top it off the fan in the range hood was very noisey so we didn't use it when cooking. The owner should at least have provided decent heating, a safe electric blanket and an an operations manual to describe how to make everything work. The faulty electric blanket is just bloody dangerous. All in all the two nights we spent at this property was a very bad experience, especially as the cost was quite high.

Accommodation was really nice- lovely quality in a stunning area. Would recommend.

The garage was too small for the car and the stairs going upstairs you could take the large suitcases up but it was nice and tidy and we like the deck and outdoor area in the sun.

The smoke fan is making a big noise so i can’t turn it on. I can’t make my dinners because of this. No smoke fan on . The table is dusty the floor carpet is so dirty and old. Our unit is facing an ugly container at the neighbors no view at all. Overall not worth the money .

I liked we had 2 couples staying and in one room there was 2 single beds. I spoke to the manager about getting it maid to a double bed and after some discussion he agreed to change it for us. Very good service and it gave us a good experience of the mantra.

A great place to stay and close(walkable) to all the key places to go in Lake Tekapo. Well set up for larger groups or families with all the amenities you would need eg laundry, living and dining areas.

One night in Tekapo

Nice property thats handy to the lake and a nice walk up into the village. Condition of unit lets my rating down. Couldnt park in the garage as switch was not working, lounge carpets were badly stained with what looked like red wine in multiple patches. You would replace it if it was your home. Microwave was plugged into a power point that didnt work. Also a pile of old dismantled furniture in the corner of garage next to the washing machine which also needed a good clean. Old washing powder on floor and dust on top of the dryer. Good kitchen set up, but no coffee plunger! Super comfortable king size bed. Didnt use the pool as looked dirty nor the spa that seemed colder than the pool. Pool was being cleaned when we checked out. Shame, as it looks a great pool. Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed the sunny rear courtyard but for a properly opened in 2005, it really needs some maintenance to bring it back to its former glory. As a Silver Accor Plus member, it wasn't quite at the expected Accor level.

Large and relaxing but my room was facing untidy house

Ok apartment

Overall this was an OK apartment. Spacious and clean and it had everything we needed. However, we were there on a warm day - sunny and maybe 72 degrees or so. The bedrooms upstairs faced full west and the sun heated up the rooms until they were like saunas. We closed the drapes to try to block the sun as much as possible but it only helped a little. The windows do NOT have screens on them so the moment you open them to get some cool air, all the mosquitoes and bugs come in (especially at night). There is no air conditioning either. So no good way of cooling off the rooms. They need to either put screens on the windows or put in AC as I'm now sure how the apartment would be bearable on a warmer summer day.

Spacious accommodation, units are well laid out and supplies in the units were well equipped. One thing that made the stay a little uncomfortable is that the previous guest or housekeeping had left one of the windows without a bug screen open, so there is a lot of bugs in the unit. Each light source in the house had many bugs flying or landed near it.

It was a fabulous place to stay!!! The unit was spacious and very well appointed. Our own back yard was a real plus. All the fittings were of high quality.

Perfect for family. Furnishings looked new, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Easy to check in and find car park. Location was close to Lake Tekapo.

Nice. Just a block from the lake. The amenities were great! The townhouse very very comfortable. Very clean the sheets and bedding were nice. It was cool and windy so it was nice to have a fireplace.

The place was very big and clean. Free WiFi and parking were included.

Property was located in a handy position. The accommodation was really good however there were a few things not working eg clock, electric blanket and the fireplace was set in such a way that you couldn’t see the flames which was disappointing. Overall happy
