Manowhenua Lodge was a great accommodation with great facilities that made it fun and feel homely. A big part of that was the service from Tracey too! She even lent me some hiking poles for my trek abd was so knowledgeable. This is the only accommodation I'd stay in, in National Park from now on. It was also great socially. 10/10
It was very clean.
Very good
Great place. Tracy was a lovely host. Welcoming us warmly and arranjing our stay accordingly. Strongly recommended. Clean and tidy. Great kitchen facilities. Well equipped.
Unexpected bonus!
We arrived and were met by the hosts. Apparently due to practical issues the hostel was closed but rather than cancel us they had put us in a private bungalow...our own bedroom living room kitchen and bathroom... fabulous!!
Great stay
Nice room and great host. Friendly and very accommodating! Property is very very clean ! Easy parking .
tracy and thomas are the friendliest hosts i ever met!
Clean as they come. The management is providing the best customer experience. I would go back.
Tracy and Thomas are friendly and responsible. The bathroom and toilet were clean. The communal kitchen is very well-equipped with everything you need to cook meals just like at home. My kids especially loved the activity room, which is quite spacious and contains a ping pong table, snooker table, and board games that kept them entertained. My family and I really appreciated the hospitality and facilities during our stay.
The owners are very nice, accomodating and friendly. It's our first time to check in with this type of motel. The dining, toilet and living room are separate from our room. It's really unique but we still want our privacy and would like to have our own toilet in our room. Overall it was a nice experience.
Wonderful, friendly hostel
Very friendly staff for this hostel. Our family had our own room with a double bed and twin bunks. Worked great for us. There was a communal kitchen with bins in the fridge to keep our stuff separate; bathroom and showers down the hall were very clean--nice hot water showers! Our kids loved the hang out room which had Foosball, ping pong, and pool table. Great location close to Tongariro National Park.
Tracey was so friendly and welcoming. I would stay in this place again. Highly recommended 😄. Thank you
The most friendly, welcoming hostel I have stayed in!
Friendly staff. Clean and tidy facilities. Would definitely stay again.
A Fantastic Place To Stay!!
I stayed here during the shoulder season, so I was able to get more personalized and individual attention. Tracy and Thomas run a wonderful operation. After a long road trip, Tracy was tremendously friendly and welcoming. It’s a very clean, tidy facility. I can’t say enough good things about the property and the owners. I highly recommend that if anyone is near National Park, that they stay here.
Great place to stay - friendly helpful staff but lodge not ideal for children as lounge area is closed till 12.30pm each day so when children wake early there is no where for them to play so they run around the corridors. Would be great to have access to the lounge and tv all the time during stay.
Tracy is a lovely host! The places is spotless and really confortable! We would stay again for sure
Nice place will return
Absolutely epic! So welcoming, so safe- kids loved it!
This accommodation was amazing with super friendly staff /owners that treat you like their own whānau/family. The room was bigger than we expected, comfy beds at half the price of other similar places we have stayed at before. Totally recommend this lodge!
Excellent stay
Clean comfortable room, hot shower with great water pressure, friendly welcoming host, definitely coming back in future.
Wow! We've stayed in so many places in NZ and the service and friendliness is next level. An experience we'll never forget.
Was neat and clean
Fantastic, comfortable place to stay with the staff extraordinarily hospitable. Tracy and Thomas run a great establishment and their friendly demeanours make the place.
Lovely welcoming hosts. Best nights sleep ever.
Tracey and her husband Thomas are excellent hosts. We stayed there during bad weather and they were very accommodating and made us feel at home. The property is very clean and well-looked after. The kitchen is clean and they provided free coffee. The showers had great pressure and the beds were comfortable. We also booked shuttles to the crossing from there. Wonderful stay and would definitely recommend staying there.
Very nice place to stay
Affordable home in National Park
A very clean lodge with very welcoming owners - we enjoyed our stay immensely and will be returning in the future.
We were treated as whanau. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Amazing staff who were so welcoming and kind. Great clean facilities with lots of games and things to do for families
The owners are very friendly and super accommodating. We had to check in late and they were super helpful arranging a special check-in after hours. The lodge has everything you need, decent showers, kitchen with appliances and good heating. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a cosy lodge for a trip.
Tracey and thomas were very welcoming and friendly people. Kitchen and living area were great and rooms were comfortable
Great stay. Thank you.
Clean, no frills accomodation
Basic but spotlessly clean accomodation, lovely host. Would definitely stay again when I need a base in Tongariro National Park.
Staff was very friendly and they make sure you feel like as home. The very next morning they called me by my name.
Very bad experience... reached at 8 and they closed their kitchen at 9 ... could not use even microwave to warm food .. not even providing paper towel in the kitchen ... pathetic experience
It was cozy and fair priced
I really like the hosts. Very homely and nice people.
Home away from home. Great hosts & who were available any time.
So comfy and warm , a real home vibe Will definitely return next year Thank you Tracey & hubby ☺️
everything
Enjoyed every moment of our stay at this lodge! Tracey and husband are very welcoming I would definitely recommend to anyone with a family good value for money too! Kids loved the ping pong table will be back next year definitely.
Family friendly and fun!
Lovely, friendly service from Tracey and Thomas. Felt like we'd known them for years! We'd love to stay here again. Would be perfect for a big family gathering. Ideal for skiing and ideal for doing the Tongariro Crossing. Close for going up the Skywaka too.
Nice affordable option in National Park Village
Simple and tidy stay, rooms are again simple but are clean with nice beds and plenty of room. Toilets/showers and kitchen are shared, and are standard backpacker type standard. Is good value, perfect for a night or two if tramping etc. Hosts were lovely and very friendly.
What a lovely place and lovely family that run Manowhenua Lodge. Tracy and Thomas are the sweetest people, they made my group feel so welcomed into their home. The facilities were clean and the rooms were warm. Showers were hot and had reasonable pressure, big communal Kitchen with everything you need and a great lounge with a fire place, pool and plenty games to keep you entertained. Would highly recommend staying here, we will definately be back.
Very accommodating host. Would recommend to friends.
Nice accommodation. But room was a bit small. if there was a table in the room it would have been great.
Vry good value
Very kind and helpful staff!
Family room is very small for 2 adults and 2 young childrens and no toiletries in toilet.Personaly i didn't recomend this for young family. Staff is good.
