The check-in process could improve, I didn't receive any check-in notifications as stated in the booking information, however once I contacted the owner, it was easy peasy. The property was super nice and updated, with a pool and hot tub. We stayed in the handicap accessible room and I've never stayed in a more accommodating place for upscale accessibility! We wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely property - spotlessly clean. Convenient position.

We had a fabulous family stay in the 2 bedroom apartment at Manata Lodge. Our adult family gathered from 3 different destinations. The surroundings were park like, the apartment and staff were very welcoming and we highly recommend this accommodation for a relaxing, peaceful stay. We made use of the pool, sauna and there was a spa as well. Our son (ex chief) cooked beautiful meals for us, using the kitchen and the BBQ and we all enjoyed Oscar, the cat, sharing the love! Thank you Manata Lodge. We will return.

Beautiful property with amazing views. Nice heated pool for kids to swim in. Really enjoyed our time here.

The best host among all I’ve come across. Enquire about bed setting days before our stay. Follow up closely of what we need during our 3 days’ stay. Bonus snooker table that we spent our night happily together.

The view from the property was beautiful. The room was clean, large, nicely decorated and quiet. After a day of hiking we enjoyed the use of the hot tub.

Looked awesome but we only came in very late and left early in the morning, next time would like to stay longer and make use of the facilities. Location was perfect for our needs

Amazing accommodation

Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful location - Apartment was clean, tidy and luxurious. On our road trip around NZ we stayed at 7 different locations and this would be by far our top pick. Private location with all the comforts for a relaxing stay. Only a short drive to a major shopping complex and other attractions around Queenstown - great location to base yourself from to explore... Our family loved it - we didn't want to leave this amazing place!!

Great accommodation

Great stay in a good location out of the busy city. Right on some bike trails. Would not hesitate to stay again. Very friendly.

Fantastic stay

Everything was clean. John was nice and helpful. We loved the outside picturesque environment and enjoyed walking around. The beds were clean and comfy. We enjoyed the stay at Manara Lodge very much.

John couldn’t have been more obliging . We throughly enjoyed our stay. The amenities were superb, lovely place to stay with a family .very peaceful and quiet surroundings. Only complaint was the weather !! I would full recommend this place to stay .

Very nice spot, close to everything but far enough away that you feel away from everything!

We had an amazing time with our kids. Very spacious and warm in the two bedroom suite. Beautiful surroundings and grounds that our kids loved, and amazing friendly service. We checked in very late and the key was waiting for us and the room warm and cosy. We hope we can stay again.

John, the owner/host was great. Exceptionally clean facilities. 15 minutes from town centre.

Small lodge with BIG heart

Super comfortable! The room, amenities, access to washer and dryer, friendly communication (and dog), really cosy and warm inside, small and effective kitchen with everything we needed. Beautiful bathroom and tub and we also noticed tennis rackets we could use which would have been ideal if we stayed longer. Everything was so thoughtful! Really great, would definitely consider staying again - thank you!

Beautiful & comfortable property but water pressure from shower is much too low.

Beautiful big room, with kitchen, lounge, bathroom and the bathroom had undertile heating and a proper heated towel rail .. bed was a bit hard for us but the owners fixed that with a quilt and blanket on top of the mattress fir us 😁 The property is spectacular with manicured lawns places to sit and the views of mountains was at every turn 😁 So all in all ... brilliant place to stay

Low water pressure meant toilet didn’t flush properly and not consistent temperature in shower. Quiet setting and lovely location.

Easily the best of the 10 hotels we visited in NZ

This place is absolutely gorgeous and is located in the most beautiful valley in the Queenstown area. It is the perfect romantic getaway from the touristy main-Queenstown centers. You get spectacular panoramas of the valley, the darkest skies to see the milky way, all in the comfort of an elegant country home. The best hotel we stayed in our long NZ honeymoon without a doubt! If you are also thinking about Queenstown being crowded, too busy/loud, not enough parking, and want to get away from that be close enough to visit, this is your spot.

We had a lovely time. Very happy we listened to online reviews and stayed 5 days. It was best part of our stay. Great walks all around and well located. For Queenstown Arrowtown and airport.

Lovely stay with all the comfort we needed

It was a lovely stay. The property is a manicured beauty. The apartment was comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed. I would love to stay there again

Perfect retreat

The lodge is in a beautiful setting and the hosts are delightful. There are books, games and mountain bikes supplied and loads of outdoor settings to sit back and enjoy the view. Highly recommended.

Amazing accommodation! Read full review!

WOW, a gem.... location was amazing, the guesthouse was unbelievable. Although we were in the cheapest unit, it didn’t feel like it, we had an amazing time and will definitely recommend this property. If you do choose the cheapest unit- Pavilion, you are at the mercy of the people above you. There were a couple of people above us, and the noise of the floors were hectic, we politely asked them to not run or play with the ball upstairs, they did stop, but you can hear every step. It was the best accommodation in our 10 days in the South Island.

Gorgeous, clean apartment with lots of space for a couple. A walking path across the road.

The setting was stunning. The room was spacious and spotless. There was an assortment of activities to do ~ tennis etc.

Far from the madding crowd

Remarkable surrounds ! The place is truly well hidden and as we discovered the other family renting the place over the weekend struggled to find the place too. It can be near impossible finding this place for people arriving late at night. It can much use some clear signage at the entrance to the road.

Stayed with our teenage boys. Was perfect staying away from the crowds of Queenstown.

Spacious home, not far from town. Very comfortable

We enjoyed everything about the home. Very warm when we arrived and always very clean. Beautiful views and very quiet. The only thing that dissappointed us was the water pressure in the shower. Especially after a long day out we really looked forward to a shower and we couldnt enjoy it sadly.

Great location, close to The Remarkables Skifields

We stayed here for 5 nights in July 2018 in the 2 bedroom suite. The location was fantastic being about 10 mins by car to the foot of The Remarkables Ski fields, and only 5 minutes away from the local shopping centre which had a Countdown (Woolworths) and several cafes, restaurants and retail shops. Being a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (10 years, and 5 years), Manata Lodge was a great alternative to staying in a hotel where we would have been cramped for space. The grounds were gorgeous and the views of the mountains were amazing. There was a funny smell (like off milk) when we opened the door to the suite, but it didn't stay around. We couldn't find the source of it.

A peaceful Lodge Retreat

From the welcome letter after our booking to the note when we arrived we knew that we had chosen a pretty special place. It did take us a little while to find the Lodge (I blame the GPS). Once we found the Lodge and got into our room, it was 100% accurate to the photos. Warren came and introduced himself, and fixed one small problem that we had spotted immediately. He gave us space during our visit, but let us know he is readily available to help at any time. We had the whole Lodge to ourselves as there were no other bookings at the time, which lead to a peaceful retreat. The Lodge was only about 20 minutes to Queenstown and the same to Arrowtown, this wasn't a problem at all. The beds were comfy, the room clean, and cleaners came in each day when we had left our room - magical little invisible angels. We delighted in checking each morning how much more snow had come overnight. If you are not wanting a Hotel, but a retreat, I would highly recommend Manata Lodge.

Beautiful surrounds

All the comforts of home with a touch of luxury. With magnificent views and crazy access to Arrowtown & Queenstiwn. Highly recommend.

Stay was awesome - we just didn't stay long enough

Mount Cook is so beautiful - wished we could have stayed longer. The luxury apartment we stayed in was very comfortable. Loved the corner Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and the heated tile floor!

Tranquil Queenstown Apartment

Lovely accomodation in a lovely tranquil garden setting. Attention to detail in the apartment made it more like home. Detail such as heated towel rails, heated bathroom floor tiles, stair lights and lots of adjustable lighting made it easy to set the mood you wanted. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. About 12 mins out of Queenstown main shopping area which for us with a car was not an issue.

Peaceful place to stay.

This is an absolutely beautiful property. To be able to wake up to manicured gardens with Autumn foliage, a vineyard and look out to the snow capped mountains is a scene you could never tire of. The lovely Shotover River is a short 5 min walk away. The Wakatipu suite is perfect for 4 with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Quiet setting, 10 min drive away from the business of Queenstown.

Gorgeous setting, ok facilities

A very quiet, clean establishment a few km out of Queenstown. Gorgeous garden setting, stunning views. The hotel had a variety of sporting equipment available for guest use. The location is a terrific base for mountain biking and tramping.

Beautiful place

Everything was perfectly clean and very comfortable. Wish we were staying longer. We had a little difficulty finding our entry door since it was on the back side of the building, instruction were not that clear and there was no sidewalk leading there. In the morning we had to roll our suitcases across the wet grass.

Wonderful getaway, great amenities, fabulous staff. Highly recommend.

Incredible "hotel" that feels more like home

This lodge is situated with a perfect view of the beautiful New Zealand mountains and includes a swing set perched on a hill that overlooks the mountains and a unique, comfortable porch that the whole family can lounge in. Though I came with my family, this lodge would be perfect for couples as well, as the whole area has an almost fairytale, romantic feel with the greenery and long glass windows that stretch almost from the ceiling to the floor in the master bedroom. Everything was very clean and well laid-out, and all the rooms, especially the bathroom, were very roomy. The owner also came by to the room to say hello, which always adds to the experience. Overall, this was the best hotel we stayed in at New Zealand, and this came as a nice surprise.

Tranquil location

Stunning location just 10 minutes from the airport, close to both Arrowtown and Queenstown, Peaceful with everything you need for a short or long stay. Loved walking the grounds and enjoying breakfast outside.

Gorgeous gardens! A beautiful place to stay!

The gardens are amazing! There are swings for the kids and outdoor tables for a picnic. We enjoyed a hit of tennis too. Whilst we didn't get a chance to use the bikes, these would be great to use to explore as there are bike trails nearby. We stayed in the two bedroom suite - the accommodation was beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated.

Great locating away from busy Queenstown

Great location, very quiet. Excellent facilities. We didn't see any staff at check in or checkout but everything was ready for us. Very clean and welcoming accommodation, would recommend for anyone wanting to be close to Queenstown but away from the busy town.

Amazing garden residence!

We recently stayed at Manata lodge for two days. A tranquil escape, blooming with spring flowers but close to all Queenstown has to offer. We enjoyed borrowing the mountain bikes and wandering by the adjacent river. Thanks to Ethel and co for their warm and wonderful hospitality.

Nice lodge in the country

Manata Lodge is a lovely quiet place to stay. Very personal service, room with almost a complete kitchen and incredible views! It is a cab ride to anywhere but worth it for the wonderful quiet!

Fantastic!

Positively beautiful location and accommodation. As a family of 3 we couldn’t ask for more. The views were spectacular, the location close to shopping ammenities and the apartment was warm and cosy. We would definitely recommend and will certainly be back as soon as we can. The management were fantastic with regard to ease of check-in and extending our time by a day - we really appreciated the effort. Gorgeous- place to stay - highest recommendations!

Beautiful lodge, great facilities

Location is perfect if you have a car, we were a short drive away from the main area of queenstown and also had easy access to the ski fields. The hosts were lovely and accommodating and nothing we requested was too much. Loved the tennis courts and the bikes. Only issue was the freezer part of the mini fridge was not cold enough so our ice cream melted :( otherwise no complaints and would absolutely stay here again. It's a beautiful place

Lovely and roomy plus an awesome view

Everything was excellent. I really can't fault anything. Out privacy was honoured, there was plenty of tourism information and the room was warm and had everything we needed.

A wonderful find in Queenstown

This property just contrasts beautifully with the more high pressure tourist buzz of Queenstown. It is quiet, beautiful rural setting in a vine yard and yet only ten minutes from the airport. It is beautifully maintained with tennis, mountain biking and other activities on site. Having stayed recently in a much higher priced rural property in Queenstown this was superior and considerably cheaper. I will be back

Located in a beautiful and quiet area

Self-contained unit, very roomy in rural location that was peaceful and quiet but not too far from conveniences and must see destinations. The hosts were lovely people and looked after our every need.

Apartment in peaceful location

Thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay in the spacious, quality apartment 'Pavilion' with good attention to detail. Set in lovely grounds overlooking Coronet peak with garden seating to enjoy alfresco meals and a glass of wine. Had a couple of early morning walks joining the Queenstown trail a few minutes away by the Shotover Over river. There are Bikes, tennis and cricket equipment available (free). Would loved to have spent our entire six days in the area at Manata Lodge - the perfect haven yet close to the airport, shopping, Arrowtown and Queenstown. Highly recommend - far superior accommodation, similarly priced,The to any other we stayed in during our 5 weeks in NZ.

Beautiful, perfect spot. Very peaceful.

The key and instructions were left for us and we loved the place immediately. It was quiet, and there are only four units, so it is never going to be crowded. The gardens are beautiful, and we loved every minute of our stay.

Amazing stay

This was an fantastic property to stay at. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It has stunning views, tennis court, mountain bikes and a swimming pool. The interior is beautiful and had everything we needed for a great stay.

Amazing accomodations. Large appartment lots of light, very clean, extremely comfortable bed and very well equipped kitchen. Loved it. 3 miles out of town on a hill with stunning view. The owner was very friendly . Laundry was convenient and laundry soap is complementary and unlimited. Great place

What a Gem

What a beautiful, peaceful and idyllic holiday retreat. The location is picturesque, surrounded by the mountains and beautiful gardens. The suite was well decorated and the attention detail really appreciated. The staff were very friendly, the owners were away and their son was running the business in there absence. He was very welcoming and helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Our only regret is that we wished we had stayed a least a week but due to time constraints we were unable to, we were very thankful for the two nights.

Excellent luxury lodge - just as it's name implies

Private and country feel

We would have had the perfect time here except we had trouble sleeping. The other guests were very loud right into the early hours of the morning. We could hear them talking and using the facilities. Maybe because the room was so big and open it made the noise worse.

Amazing place

A great stay in a beautiful setting. Great hosts , very friendly and keen to please. Great wifi and service. Only down side was having to go around the back to access the larger 2 bedroom unit as not accessible by car.so can be tricky to access at night in the dark but lifts sensors available. Not a big deal though Super place! Highly recommended if you have a car.

Peace & quiet.

If you want somewhere to rest after that long day travelling or on business, Manata Lodge is just perfect. From the moment we arrived we felt like guests, not customers in a large hotel. If we were to vidit Queenstown again, most likely would stay at the Lodge again. Could not fault in any way. Thank you!!

Very pleased with our two bedroom serviced apartment. A home away from home with full kitchen bathroom and extra toilet. TV in living and master bedroom. Cosy underfloor heating and heat pump. A lovely quiet spot with coronet peak in full view and remarkables behind.

Just an amazing setting, well appointed rooms we felt like we were the only people that mattered. Owners where so kind and friendly! We will definitely be back!..... There is nothing more I can say other than if you get the opportunity to hide away at the Manata then you should

Comfortable environment and the owners are helpful! The location is not in the town center of Queenstown but close to Arrow Town. So it is ok for those who having a rental car.

Beautiful beyond an apartment

Fabulous place!

Incredibly friendly and attentive hosts, beautiful grounds, free use of bicycles, vineyard at hotel - everything one could ask for! A little bit of a drive to Queenstown but otherwise an incredible place for a relaxing vacation. The hosts are the nicest people you could ever meet, and helpful in every way possible.

Beautiful lodge in gorgeous setting

An easy drive to Queenstown but a world away, the Manata Lodge could be in California wine country. Spacious, beautifully decorated and perfectly maintained apartment with all the amenities, including kitchen, wifi, etc.

A perfect rural retreat from Queenstown crowds

Lovely property in large gardens and with lovely views of Hills around Shotover. Excellent facilities for the traveler. Note that it's so tucked away that you'll struggle to find it without SAT NAV.

We really had a nice stay at The Manata. Other reviews noted issues with noise, we did not experience this, despite the presence of an infant below us, which we actually didn't realize until the next morning. We highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed!
