They don’t tell you on the website or when you check in they don’t have hot water you have shower with freezing cold water. They should said that before you book was very inconvenient

There was a cockroach in our room and the sheets were dirty/stained. It rained at night and water came in under the door and got our stuff wet.

The spot was perfect and convenient.

This was our second time staying here. Super convenient location Restaurant and bar area has been completely renovated. Planning our next trip and will definitely stay here again

In the town, convenient

It was nice overall but check in and check out times are limited, which we knew but to check out we had no clue where to leave the keys. Place was cozy and clean. Definitely walkable to everywhere.

Mamacitas was a great place to stay! We stayed for one night to experience Culebra and Flamenco beach. Mamacita’s location is amazing right in the middle of the Town. You’ll have bunch of other places around to eat, buy and even the ferry port if walking distance. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was good.

The check-in was excellent. I arrived about 2 hours early and they gave me a room right away. The staff was excellent. I checked out and accidentally left my Apple watch in the room. I went back several hours later and they had it waiting for me.

I love that each of the two rooms I used had windows towards the ocean. Also, there’s a casual atmosphere on all of the leveled balconies, including patio furniture and coffee tables. The staff was very accommodating when I was going to arrive late and had a scheduling conflict.

For the price is perfect

The room I had at first had problems with the a/c since it started to drip water into the room. Spoke to management and they gave us another room, fresh and clean, on our 16 Anniversary night.

Poor service and inattentive staff. When we arrived, we went to the bathroom in our room and there was no soap to be found. We went down to the front desk and they said that they didn’t have any and that we could go to the store. By this time, the stores were all closed so we had to wait till the next day to even take a shower after purchasing a bar of soap ourselves. We had a low expectation after viewing photos of the property, but The hotel struggled to even meet those low expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to friends.

Culebra is a very special town. The energy is magic. But the hotel it wasn’t clean and I found little roach when I turn the light on. Apparently they are in the process of remodeling and painting the place. I stayf in this place before, and it was in better condition. But I would stay again no matter what because I love Culebra. It is my one of my of my favotite places in the world ❤️

Mi estadía en Mamacita's Guest House fue absolutamente encantadora. Desde el momento en que llegué, me recibieron con una cálida bienvenida y un ambiente acogedor. La habitación estaba impecablemente limpia y decorada con un encanto caribeño que realmente te hace sentir como en casa. El personal fue excepcionalmente amable y servicial, siempre dispuesto a brindar recomendaciones sobre lugares para visitar y actividades para disfrutar en la hermosa isla. Además, la ubicación del hotel es perfecta, a solo unos pasos de la playa y cerca de restaurantes y tiendas locales. Definitivamente volveré a Mamacita's en mi próximo viaje a este paraíso caribeño."

Location is very convenient. Close to the only bakery in the island. The room was clean the only two things that were a little bit of an issue was the access to the employees before 10am and the tiny space where the toilet is. I am a 5’8/145lbs female and it was very complicated for me. Can’t imagine the trouble for a taller or bigger person.

The room was decent. It was clean and walking distance to the ferry which was convenient. Very noisy though from the bar downstairs but if you don't mind the noise its not terrible after 10pm. The shower also stays very cold. The water ran on the hottest setting for about 30 minutes and was still cold. I don't mind cold showers so it wasn't bad, but if you need a hot shower you definitely won't get one lol. If you want to visit Flameco Beach, consider staying at a closer place. Taxis are very expensive for a less than 10 minute drive.

The guest house was very close to ferry. It was within walking distance of the restaurants and entertainment.

Dear Expedia Customer Service, I am writing to request a full refund for our recent stay at Mamacitas Hotel in Culebra, room 305, booked through Expedia. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory due to several significant issues. Upon arrival, we discovered that the air conditioning in our room was not functioning, making the room unbearably hot. We immediately informed the hotel office, but they did not have a maintenance team available to fix the problem. Additionally, the staff informed us that there were no other rooms available, leaving us with no choice but to sleep in our cars. Moreover, the room was in extremely poor condition: - The room was dirty, with visible dust covering surfaces. - We found a cockroach in the room. - There were blood stains on the pillow covers. - There were food stains on the floor. Given these unacceptable conditions, we are requesting a full refund of $193.84. Our stay was severely impacted by these issues, and we believe a refund is justified. Can you refund it back to my card that I use for this reservation ? Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and resolution. Best regards, [

room is nice, a/c is cold, hot water was available. our room had a fridge and microwave. the tv did not had audio. the bathroom had a tampoon wrapper stuck next to the sink. there was long black hairs in the walls. we couldnt try their restaurant/bar since it was super full everyday. for some reason everything in Culebra closes at 9pm.

What a mess! Rooms were clean but only bc of the industrial-strength cleaners everything seemed damp with and permeated our sinus passages for hours after we left. Rooms are dingy and in disrepair. Walkway to our room on the third floor seemed about to collapse. Fellow guests were openly drinking and drunk and smoking in common areas from early morning til late at night. One even had a frightening black eye. Real question? Is this actually a flop house? Office staff were lovely, but nothing would lead me to recommend this place to anyone who values their physical or emotional security. Seriously, DO NOT STAY HERE. (Also, Jesus, was it expensive for the area.)

Everything was as shown in photos except rooms are more up to date & nicer in person.

Room 105 a/c loud noise, light didn’t work, mold bathroom, handwash sink clogged, and shower floor had a nail and no shower curtain. Dirty sofa full of sand. This should never be rented in that condition.

There was no hot water in bathroom. Room condition is fine.

Right in the center of Culebra town, very kind staff, yet, limited WiFi and the building as well as lounge area needs an upgrade.

The property was in a great location it was 5 minutes walking distance from the ferry and it was near all the shops and areas to eat. The overall stay was great the employees were very nice and helpful it was a great stay and the rooms were very clean they have a restaurant downstairs that’s apart of the hotel and the food was amazing and the waiters were amazing and the chef made a very tasty meal when we went for dinner. Truly this hotel is amazing and the staff are professional and friendly and informative I will definitely be coming back to stay I would highly recommend this hotel for others to stay in Culebra if your looking for a safe and friendly and comfortable and convenient location. We stayed here for my daughter’s 30th birthday and we had a blast and truly enjoyed our stay at mamacitas!

I cant recommend this place. it’s in a convenient location, and the inside of the room was clean- otherwise the listing is misleading, and this place needs an overhaul. The listing states they give you toiletries, and there’s daily housekeeping. No one came to our room in the three days we were there, and they gave us one single 2 inch bar of soap as “toiletries”. The pictures of the seating areas are OLD. The couches and chairs shown are there but are falling apart to the point that the cushions have stuffing and GARBAGE BAGS coming out, and there’s random crap strewn around the property. THE BATHROOM DOOR DIDNT CLOSE- we had to push on it from the outside to straighten the door so it would fit inside the moulding. The bed was also uncomfortable and the blanket on the bed was gross and old - the towels too. This wasn’t relevant to us but the listing says something about accessibility and there’s no way anyone with mobility issues could stay here. There’s no grab bar by the toilet as stated and there lips and steps that someone with limited mobility could not get over Lastly- the room we stayed in was missing basic things that someone might need. There’s not one hook anywhere to hang something, not even in the bathroom, there’s no flat surfaces in the bathroom to put your stuff on, no hair dryer on the property, no cup if you want to drink water, just basic stuff that you assume would be there. The fact they charge a “resort fee” fee feels like a scam.

location is convenient near main town and short ride from beaches. Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. It is attached to a bar so very noisy at night. Room is pretty shabby and outdated but is very clean. Biggest complaint is there is barely any hot water in the room. Pretty much every shower was cold to lukewarm.

Not great as expected

Mamacita was a place that was recommended by my next door neighbor. The room had large roaches in which my daughter was afraid to be inside the room. I requested someone to come and clean and leave a bug spray for the night. The food wasn’t great either ti my disappointment and it wasn’t cheap either. They only open for dinner but I wasn’t going to eat there again. The location was very nice but their furnitures around the hotel was way below quality. The chairs with cushion were mostly torn and the foams inside in some of them were Coming out. I would and did not use any of the furniture on the balcony. It’s a shame that such a beautiful location was so run down.

Uncomfortable Bed!!

The bed was uncomfortable. It was broken and the mattress has not Support in the center on top of that it has a plastic cover and it was uncomfortable due to the hot weather.

amazing place for the price. We had an issue as the ice was not blowing out hot air which we let the front desk know about. We where moved to a bigger room immediately and the staff was super helpful and accommodating. I will definitely be staying here again !! thank you mama citas for the amazing hospitality!!

Convenient to ferry terminal, shops and restaurants. The advertisement is deceiving as there is no ocean view at all except from a corner in the hallway, should say "city view" which is dilapidated. Room was Ok to sleep only, not a chair to sit on!

Great spot to stay. Restaurant was great and was only ones open on a Tuesday night.

Nice stay..loud employees and uncomfortably bed

Place is centrally located in town, near everything(ferry dock, stores, taxis, and restaurants). Place has a bar and restaurant with nice view. Check-in guy was mad because we got there on the last ferry of the day and he wanted to leave early(check-in is until 9pm). Employees stay on the restaurant grounds(just below the rooms) drinking and screaming until 2am. Only one pillow per person and mattress was hard. No shower gel.

This hotel has a great location and is clean with plenty of hot water. Good cocktails at restaurant downstairs, did not try food. Check-in was efficient, but not friendly and having to initial acknowledgment of every item ( and its fee for theft or loss) was offensive. The worst is the bed having a plastic under sheet that crackles every time you move.

The property needs a little bit of love, rails in the steps, more modern environment. It was cleaned and the people friendly. Closed to the small city and the ferry terminal.

Enjoyed very much my stay the staff is very helpful and attentive. The location in my opinion is the best because you get views and accessibility. The local store is locates crossing the bridge, a bakery can be found up the block and the port is at walking distance. This location allows you to have a variety of options for restaurants. Mamacitas has a great waterside restaurant/bar where you can dine also. My only complaint is that the room booked a month in advanced had been rented out for the day so i had to settle for what was available.

This stay was a very last minute 1 nighter. I loved this place. Super convenient if you’re coming in on the ferry. It’s exactly a four minute walk. The restaurant on the property is fantastic, very cute and food was great. Staff was super friendly and so were the servers at the restaurant. The place looks like it could use a few renovations but still had an authentic homey island atmosphere. It was a perfect stay for just a night. Bring your own toiletries because they do not provide any. Great view of the sunset from our balcony. The Room was comfy for my teenage daughter and I but there was no hot water in the shower. Honestly I liked the place so much that I didn’t even complain about the water. It wasn’t a big deal being we were only there for one night. If I ever plan a short trip to Culebra in the future I would definitely stay here again!

Property needs to painted outside. It seems as though repairs are ongoing daily. Coffee pot and plastic utensils would be nice. Not very welcome on the outside.

We arrived on Culebra and needed to stay in a place for a night before checking in to our house. Mamacita's was perfect! We had dinner downstairs then crashed in our 3 reserved rooms. Got breakfast down the street at Pandeli. Simple. Easy. Wonderful!

Pro: Location and staff were great. Easy walk to ferry dock and to the taxis to Flamenco beach. Attached restaurant had good drinks, food, and service. Con: Mattress needed an upgrade

Construction was ugly and noisy

Well, the staff was busy with construction at the hotel site, and little time for us. The construction was major, and noisy from 8:00 a.m. to sundown. If they are open at all, they should give customers a discount for such disruption, noise and lack of facilities. The bed mattress was awful, no towel hangers or racks yet, but rest of room was fine.
