Great value

Great value and close to main tourist area. It is one metro station away from the centrale which is a good thing. The door is a bit thin so in the morning it may wake you up when there's a lot of movement in the hallway.

The place was within walking distance to most sights and close to metro and bus stops. I loved how quiet the room was compared to my other B&B stays in Italy and Sicily. I appreciated the breakfast order check off sheets, I actually was able to get a regular cup of coffee.

Nice room good location walkable to sites and restaurants. Parking is great. Breakfast is good and the staff is very helpful.

The room was beautiful, the staff extremely accommodating and helpful, the location walkable to great restaurants, and the breakfast delicious! The property was also very secure and felt very safe.

Magione del re… una meraviglia

Esperienza bellissima, posto meraviglioso, a due passi dal centro: camera stupenda,pulita, comoda, proprietari disponibili e cortesi.

We were really grateful for the hospitality of everyone at Magione del Re, extremely welcoming and we were given a very thorough introduction to Catania by Piero when we arrived, with a map and some excellent suggestions of where to visit for the best pizza, granita and authentic Sicilian cuisine. The B&B has a genuine Italian character, but without the sometimes tired appearance that many older hotels have in Italy. Super high ceilings make the room feel spacious and everything is well maintained to a high standard. Breakfast being included was a nice touch and we felt very well looked after each morning always with the offer of more. The location is situated within a short walk of the main central street of Catania, and the surrounding area felt very safe and comfortable for the few days we were staying. There is also a small car park directly next to the hotel with a slight discount for guests at the B&B. This was perfect for us as we are visiting various cities in Sicily and having a rental car has been invaluable. That said, driving in Catania is borderline chaos, even for my wife who is born and raised in central Italy. Make sure you rent a small car if doing so! It can sometimes be a little noisy as some reviews suggest, either from breakfast being prepared in the hallway (the doors aren’t massively soundproofed) or from the shared communal courtyard which at times had some rather dramatic Italian shouting, however neither of these things detracted from our visit.

We went to Catania and just wanted a place that was central and close to everything. This is not a hotel. The level of security is very good. Breakfast has a good choice. Pierro was very helpful. Good value for a place to sleep and shower. Don't take a car into Catania

Lovely Stay!

Loved the friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Katie was wonderful as was Pierrot.

The room was large and comfortable. The location was near many restaurants and sites. Piero and team went above and beyond to help even with the language barrier. Thank goodness for Google translate! :-)

Stayed 2 nights for the start of my Sicilian holiday. Great location timely communication easily walkable comfortable bed loved my stay!

Beautiful room. Good staff communication for check in. Safe residential area... close walk to everything. Woke up 5am for showers before departing. No water pressure and no hot water. This would otherwise have been 5 stars.

Very accommodating staff for late arrival & storing baggage. Very clean& only a few blocks from the train station. Easy walk to many restaurants & Ortegia. Great breakfast with fresh pastries, fruit, OJ & cappuccino.

I really enjoyed staying at this property my room was great (double with balcony). Really comfortable and super clean. Netflix on the tv was a pleasant surprise. I had the wrong adaptor and they gave me (!) the right one (to keep in case I needed it on my travels). Very happy tried to book for my last night before I went back t London but they were fully booked (that speaks for itself)

Lovely 3 dimensional flowers around the ceiling of my room, very tasteful décor throughout, location convenient to Catania’s attractions, excellent selection for breakfast, gracious, helpful host.

Great value for money!

This place is fantastic, you feel like you have slept in an English stately home. The bed is super comfy, large bedroom and bathroom and o nly 20 minute walk from central station and a ten inute walk to put you in the bar/restaurant area. Great customer service, one day we had to leave early for a tour and would have missed breakfast and we wereeft items in our room to have for our early start. I would not hesitate to recommend. L

The hosts are the nicest, friendliest and most helpful people. They did everything to accommodate my needs. My room was spacious and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.

A quite good stay

Nice room back from early 1900. Fantastic roof with do great details. Good location as well with walkable distance to different attractions. Friendly couples. Only negative is need to use Google translator for communication in many cases but the host always tries to help. And the bathroom is a little bit small but works well

Super pour découvrir Catane et sa région

Très bon séjour, chambre spacieuse et propre, bien située. Personnel très agréable et accomodant. Je recommande afin de découvrir cette belle ville qu'est Catane puis l'Etna et Taormina.

Our room was beautiful and very confortable, equipped with lovely bath and shower and TV The staff could not have been more helpful. They made every effort to keep us worryfree and confortable. We had a 7 AM flight the following morning. As well as arranging a taxi for us the day before, rhey knew our concern for preparing for our early flight and gave us an akarm clock to use. A wonderful location, not only for a walk to the Duomo and Botanical Gardens but also ashort ride to CTA. Bery vonvenient location.

Unpretentious hotel with clean and spacious room

Besonders war hier, dass die Zimmer, mein zumindest, zwar klein, aber absolut ausreichend für mich war, das Bad war in einer Box im Zimmer unterbracht, das war scho besonders und die Räume sind sehr hoch, die Decken mit viel Eifer gestaltet, sehr schön. Alessandria war ein sehr netter und freundlicher Gastgeber. Komme bestimmt mal wieder.

Immer wieder eine Reise wert, leider jetzt ohne Frühstück wenn in Catania dannnur im Magione del Re!

Excelente servicio!! Piero, del frontal desk, siempre se esforzó en atenderme y ayudarme. La habitación acogedora, amplia, limpia, con aire acondicionado. Super recomendado.

Zentrale, ruhige, saubere Unterkunft, guter Preis

Kontaktaufnahme durch Gastgeber schon vor der Reise, um Ankunftszeit abzusprechen. Um nicht zu spät abends in fremder Umgebung anzukommen, nahm ich ein Taxi, Rückweg aber mit Flughafenbus (mehrere Möglichkeiten). Freundlicher Empfang, Frühstückswünsche auf Bestellblatt (gute Idee, weniger Foodwaste). Zimmer sauber, ruhig, alles funktionierte. Tagsüber zu Fuss Metro/Zug/Busse gut erreichbar, auch TouristenzoneRestaurants. Am Abreisetag Gepäckaufbewahrung. Alles bestens.

Viaggiavo da sola per lavoro e non potevo trovare soluzione migliore. Piccola, pulita ed accogliente, una sistemazione ottimale sia per posizione sia per l’ospitalità ricevuta. Grazie di cuore

La habitación está súper amplia y bonita, la cama muy cómoda, todo muy limpio, la atención de toda la gente es buenísima, todos fueron muy amables. El desayuno está muy bueno, los cannoli deliciosos. Todas las entradas funcionan con un código, así que esto lo hace sumamente fácil y no andas con el pendiente de perder las llaves. Muy recomendable

Unconventional charm in just the right place

A charming room, with windows that were soundproof in regard to traffic along the street. Simple access. Perfect location in regard to exploring the old town and still being. Really kind and charming service. A different kind of stay than a conventional hotel would facilitate.

La struttura si presenta molto curata e pulita. La posizione è strategica per visitare la città e il b&b si trova in una zona tranquilla del centro di Catania. I padroni di casa sono squisiti.

Un hôtel magnifique, beau et confortable. Accueil du 1er jour comme réception au quotidien et renseignements : parfaits! Bons petit déjeuner.

Très belle chambre au décor recherché dans une très belle maison ancienne située à 15 mn à pieds de la via Etnea ou se trouvent beaucoup de commerces de qualité .Plusieurs parkings pour garer la voiture . Pour ma part j'ai laissé la voiture de location toute la nuit pour 8 euros .Magione del Ré est idéalement situé au centre de Catane .

Excellent séjour, hôtes très acceuillants

Très bon accueil, et très bonne communication avant notre arrivée. Les chambres sont propres, et vraiment très bien situées car à quelques minutes du centre de Catane. Petit déjeuner succulent. Tout est parfait, à un un très correct.
