Okay stay, low value

Pros: Lub d is in a great location, close to everything and very walkable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great common space with lots of seating. Strong wifi, good AC. Decor is modern. Cons: Poor breakfast (don’t bother paying for it, go elsewhere). For a “deluxe” private room, the walls are threadbare (you can hear everything from the hallway and your neighbours). The “double bed” is actually 2 twin beds, so you can feel the lump where they meet. Elevators are slow, especially if you’re on a high floor. They don’t service your room, so you will have to call to get trash emptied, more toilet paper, etc. TV does not have streaming / smart functionality, despite signage in the room. Water pressure is low and intermittent.

For the price that i payed it was unexpected. They couldnt even provide you a bottle opener. You need to go to the lobby for you to open ur bottle. No parking lot.

Great property but once time my breakfast bacon was a bit raw, which was not ok. Additionally the internet in my room was horrible!

Modern, loft-like building, and a very helpful staff

I hotel hop Makati area during my 2 week stay and this is easily the best place to stay in the area for the price. Safe, clean, walkable to food, entertainment and activities nearby. The lobby has a mini mart, sitting/lounge area, there is a roof deck restaurant. I forgot to actually see it before I left. The rooms are large and nice. I will definitely be booking here again.

Lost my key card inside the room, wasn't able to shower before checking out. Someone got my card and turned it over to the housekeeping staff as what they said, but the staff never checked if the person associated to the key card have checked-out or not. The bed set up is also terrible, they use old comforter, blanket and pillow case. The smell inside my bed is also making me dizzy. The bedding is also itchy.

Awesome stay

Amazing. Really friendly staff. Luxury clean room with all the amenities. Had the best night sleep so far in Manila. Definitely staying again. However won’t pay for the breakfast as for the same price I’d rather order off the breakfast menu. Buffet was limited but cooked well. Lots of activities here and a great set up.

Avoid the 12th floor due to noise from restaurant

Great location. Reasonably priced. Rooms are nice and clean, but the beds are not comfortable. I stayed here several nights in three different rooms, located on three different floors. There is a restaurant/bar on the 13th floor. AVOID the rooms on the 12th floor. You will hear the sound of chair being dragged on the floor constantly, coming from the 13th floor.

One of the best hostels that I have ever visited. Definitely the top one aside from Ola in another part of the city. Prime location. Amazing rooms. Cool common areas. Free gift upon arrival by spinning a wheel: I earned 400 PHP, which I used on their beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant. The bunks have stairs, not a ladder, which is much more convenient and safe. Including myself, there were only two people in my mixed dorm. Safe street with armed guard at the door 24/7. In the heart of the red light district, but blocks away from noisy and dangerous streets. Amazing customer service from the staff and hotels.com (which I recommend over Agoda). Beautiful, clean bathrooms with a washing machine and ironing board. No bugs anywhere. Would love to visit again.

Lub D was a nice stay. The room is spacious and comfortable. The common room has games and some necessities and beers for sale also a coffee shop with some desserts. The rooftop bar has nice views and food is not bad. They have a happy hour which is nice but unfortunately during my stay they were out of draft beer and bottles of the same were not included. I wish they had a little more things planned for people staying to meet each other easier, everyone in the common area was working and the group chat seemed to only have locals in it so it was really hard to meet people here. Also the area is not very good outside the hotel. It’s quite dirty and seems to have a homeless population in the building next door. The traffic where the hotel is located is also horrendous. Overall a good stay but it could be better if the staff put on more meet and greet activities.

Great stay in Manila. Nice area with lots of restaurants and bars around. Takes approx 1hr to get into the old city, but that's Manila traffic for you. Clean, quiet rooms, nice view of the city skyline

Good Hotel in unsafe downtown manila

A safe and friendly environment in the midst of unsafe and unclean downtown area.

The property is great, good location and overall great. I stayed on the 12th floor and didn't like the staff banging something on the 13th floor every morning at 7am.

Excellent price

The work team is good and very friendly, you can see the effort they make to keep the establishment clean, the rooms for 4 guests are very, very small considering the space that suitcases take up...the price is excellent, the restaurant and The breakfasts are not the best but they meet the need... one or another cockroach circulating around the facilities but I suppose in the Philippines it is a normal matter but not pleasant for the guests...

Slightly off the beaten path, Lub D is a nice hidden gem. Easily accessible to all your needs and wants within a short walking distance.

I stayed in the 6 bed women’s dorm and it was truly one of the best hostel dorms I’ve ever seen. Top or bottom bunk it doesn’t matter they’re all good. You have private space. It’s nice. Great location. Great locker setup- everyone had a private space. The only negative is that the wait for the elevator can be long but there’s always the stairs!

Comfortable, convenient, and eco-friendly

It was a very nice experience, even better than my first time. The guard who assisted me in the parking was very approachable and supportive. My lavatory clogged up as soon as I got settled. I called front desk to request assistance. In less than 5 minutes, maintenance came and worked on it. Fixed in no time. I guess I was lucky with parking for the duration of my stay. I like the concept of recyclable water bottle in the room, and water dispenser in the hallway. I wasn't sure if it was indicated in the booking agreement but there was no toothbrush and toothpaste so I just bought. The lobby felt welcoming and didn't feel formal like in a hotel. I prefer this dorm feeling. The box containing the coffee cups, water bottle, and water heater had some cobwebs. The upper part of the walls of the toilet could afford some wiping.

Quality of interior materials used in the rooms and the bathrooms. The wide enough stairs in going up the upper deck.

Cleanliness of room and accomodation floors are great, however level 2 reception floor is looking very tired and worn out It wouldn’t be a bad idea to steam clean the fabric seats and repair the floor power outlets. The pool table for example should have been replaced a few years ago. It’s a real shame as the staff are very good and the actual room areas are presented well.

Well designed, fun hotel. Great reception area and rooftop bar. Very noisy rooms if you stay on the main road side and we were on the 5th floor. Also quite noisy corridors as the place is full of treny youngsters coming in and out and not always quietly.

Very cozy and doesn't feel like a hostel. It feels like a hotel indeed.

Already late checkin, past 12MN and Room was not ready. Airconditioning not functioning well and upon request the technician cleaned the filter. No more available bath towel and supplied rather by 3 hand towels but it comes like a foot towel. Plated standard Breakfast provided, the bacon difficult to chew. No parking provided and my request not answered by the Front Desk Manager . I have to park my car at Seda Residences Makati and just took premium grab taxi back and forth. A terrible experience..the price ($51 ) not worth my stay of only less than 6 hours.

The hotel is incredible, the room was to die for, big, open, and luxurious. The breakfast was served in two different locations, via your choice, and maybe the best breakfast buffet I’ve had. Great check in staff Room well presented and very clean Over priced meeting rooms - more expensive then some 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in. Nice idea about the quiet/chill out room - but fairly pointless when the music in the main area is being pumped out so loud.

Decent hotel, decent price

We loved the location in Makati as it was convenient to shop, eat, and get a cheap massage. We had a great full breakfast each morning included in our affordably priced room. We had great views of the city. The WIFI worked great when on the 6th floor or below, but not so great above the 6th floor. Shower had great water pressure and was warm. They also included shampoo, handsoap, and bodywash. They even opened the door each time you arrived at the hotel. There are plenty of snacks available for purchase if needed and games available if you get bored. The staff was very helpful when we needed help with tours or rides.

good for sleep and go hostel

I stayed at the hotel for almost 2 weeks and if you are used to hotel style like being greeted at the hall ways and assisted by staff do not expect that here to happen the hotel gets busy and most of the staff are not that friendly. It's not that I have issues with some staff but you would observe things when you hangout at the lobby area at the 2nd floor. It even gets loud when the place is full and check in time is high. you have to be mindful when the place is busy and do not expect to be serve properly or be prioritized not gonna happen at the 2nd floor. If you want it more relaxed you can go to pods area at the lobby or try there roof top restaurant where people are more friendly and accommodating food is good but doesn't have that much option. the skype room and theater area is nice but it gets full easily.

This is the first time I have stayed at this franchise, though I was initially impressed, there are so many things that let it down, which is a real shame considering a large majority of the staff are helpful and friendly. Firstly the things that clearly earn a 5 out of 5: Welcoming and check-in: very friendly and very efficient - certainly up there with the best 5 star hotels I have stayed in. Cleanliness: absolutely spotless! Very impressed! Room cleaning and service: Again excellent! Room and bathrooms cleaned to a very high standard. Room maintenance call: from my inability to use the TV correctly! They were there within minutes The items that score 1 to 2 out of 5: The top floor restaurant..the food quality is extremely poor, and god forbid you should ask one of the guys behind the counter a question...very rude and arrogant response. Certainly a change in management is needed in this area..and I would suggest this is made quickly. The customer service and care of food and drink quality is so poor it is mind boggling that the staff would have any motivation or enjoyment from their jobs. There was one exception which was a young guy with a Viking tattoo on his arm, who was very friendly and has great customer service...perhaps place him as the Manager...at least he cared and knew what customer service was all about!! Would I stay there again? Perhaps...just for the fact the 5 out of 5 as detailed above, but I would be avoiding the restaurant.

Good place

Good place in good condition with a really fair price. The rooms are a little noisy. We stayed in a 4 persons room and its a little small for 4 persons with a lot of luggage. The breakfast could be better. Wifi was really good! Anyway, would definitely stay here again. Its a 7/10.

For the price point and to just have a place to stay, it's an excellent choice. It's in a traffic congested area, so it's better to walk to short distances. Wifi is not that great. It's way better than a regular hostel or some 3-stars hotel but still can't be compare to a Hyatt. Will definitely stay again.

The place is amazing! Location is great, staff is friendly, the beds are modern and spacious. The only thing is the hairdryer didn’t work and the dryer didn’t wash my clothes (and I only washed 4 items yet they were still soaked). Everything else was absolutely perfect and I would recommend to anyone coming to Manila.

The dorm rooms are very spacious and the beds are a good size and comfortable.

I like the cleanliness of the room, bed, pillows and linens are clean and soft. There is a coin-operated washer and drier (Laundry room), i dont need to go out and look for one. The restaurant in the 13th flr has a very nice view of the City, very private, and the food is great, the only thing is service is kinda slow.

Pros: The room was nice and clean. Very modern and the concept is great. Cons: The area is really noisy, like very noisy due to the honking, traffic and bars that are open till late. Within the hotel, people and staff always talking loudly at the corridor. If you're a light sleep like me, this will be a nightmare.

This is a hostel with hotel standards, with the perks of both hotel and hostel. Hotel being that, with a private room, it’s clean, beds were made daily, necessities replenished. Hostel being that there’s a whole floor to hang out and socialise for games and even a theatre! Everything was great!

the problem I faced was the poor internet connection. As a business traveler internet connectivity is very important beside the cleanliness of the room.

After having stayed at Lub d many times for both work and personal breaks I was suprised to get an extremely rude staff member during the check-in. Taking our IDs, having us sign the check-in form seemed to be a bother for her. After a slightly lengthy check-in we went to the room, swiped the card. The TV was on. There was a suitcase and a female's handbag. We didn't see the guest, but obviously the room was taken. We went back to the reception, saw the same girl, and she rolled her eyes. I think I had to requalify there was a person in the room 3-4 times. Overall not a good experience during the check-in and a serious security concern for Lub d by giving security keys to rooms which already have guests.

The staff was good, the room was clean. But since the location is near bars and restaurants, it’s quite noisy outside even in the evenings. There’s a drugstore and some small markets and a money changer nearby so it was pretty convenient.

It was ok. The bed sheets are not super clean. There were ants and marks. And the noise from the hallway can be heard in the room.

The amenities is awesome, the locker for phone is quite impressive, wet split shower, foosball and cuesports at public space. The closest MRT station is 2 km away, however, you could wait at B. Valbez (the street really close to hostel). There are jeepneys to Guadalupe MRT station.

Very value for money! Kanto freestyle breakfast was jus behind the place. A safer area to be at. Rooms nearer to the main road side will be a little more noisy.

Lovely hotel

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed 2 nights in family room. This is our second stay in the hotel. The room has 4 comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is very modern and all furniture is new.

Very clean and I got a lovely room. Don’t like: short staff, do not reply on urgent inquiries on time which cause us stress and another P2,000 booking a hotel in another place. There’s no one to serve you when you check in and buy things at the lobby. I asked the reservation team twice to call me during my stay but never happened. Customer service is very poor which is a shame as the hotel has good rooms. Now, I’m still in battle trying to get a refund which I don’t need on a holiday. Noise : do not get a room near the lifts. Management need to up their game and train well their staff else their business will suffer. There’s a guy that has been helpful his name is Gab. Other than that still a funky, nice hostel

A hotel than hostel - good clean minimal vibe

A very good clean & comfortable hostel. Stayed in a Junior room (Private) and was pleased with room facilities. Local area good and easy walk to shops and bars. Rooftop restaurant was good although always seemed to be very quiet. The only drawback of the hostel was there was a lack of hostel vibe - no tours nor events and no real common room - more of an open plan working/eating area that doesn't help in connecting with others.

Late nites ,early dawn people sounds like partying ,talkin ,shouting very loudly., sliding doors are loud from other rooms.walls are thin., it is what it is for an affordable place. Bedroom with loft, stairs are very steep, not recommended for kids. Employees are very helpful, staff are attentive to my housekeeping needs. In Room amenities are good, safety box available , water heater for coffee and coffee condiments, hair dryer. Behind the hotel street is like a red light district at night.its a happy place for those who like to stay and party late.
