Excellent Choice.
Initially offered unsuitable room but no problem with alternative. I like staying here especially in the summer.Excellent value and service given.
Great budget option.
Great budget stay. Warm and clean. Great breakfast. It was quiet in the building and we both had a great sleep. I would stay again.
Radiator heat was on at 7.50am on Christmas Day only! Cold shower 🚿 and was semi blocked Blocked toilet could not be fix until 27/12/24
value for money, good transport link, close to landmarks
No towel or soap. Bin not emptied for 4 days. Next door plumbing loud and clear. Good breakfast.
Dorm
Good location and breakfast
Convenient for one night in london with breakfast included. A bit noisy and hair in communal shower but other than that really good.
Just what i needed a basic reasonably priced room for the 2 nights i stayed.
My friends and I only spent one night here to be close to the train station, but the accommodation provided by the property was fantastic. We left out bags in the storage room the day we arrived and departed with no concern. Check-in was very easy, the breakfast provided well exceeded our expectations and the property outside was very beautiful and in such a convenient location. Keep in mind the building we stayed in had no elevators, so we did have to lug 50lb suitcases up and down 7 flights of narrow stairs. We laughed through it, but had the stay had been longer it wouldn't had been so bad. Great place to stay overall!
Clean & quiet student accommodation
Affordable stay in London, right next to Euston, ideal for travelling.
Great stay for the money.
Awful check-in experience
Shambolic check-in experience. The door was locked when I got there. They seem to have some sort of camera next to the door but no one opened it after I tried and failed to enter. I called the phone number on the listing to get a recorded message saying they were open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. It was Saturday. Several minutes later a security guard was out the front of the property. I called after him as he re-entered, even addressing him as ‘sir’ and he was incredibly rude, not even turning to face me and mumbling something. I guess I was fortunate he came outside to allow me to get inside at all. The shared toilet ran out of toilet paper and there was no more handy. It was replenished by the next morning. Breakfast is 8am-10am every day but I can’t comment on that as I had to leave very early. The room itself was fine and as expected, but it was uncomfortably warm for some reason despite the visible radiator not being switched on. If you’re going to market a university halls of residence as a cheaper alternative to hotels, when the students are not there, you really need a much better check-in experience than this. Have the door unlocked during daylight hours maybe, or at least pay attention when people are trying to enter. The security guard needs to be told not to be rude to paying customers.
We really wnjoyed our stay. Breakfast was awesome!
Awesome accommodation, great location and included breakfast buffet, plus has self service laundry on property. Only downside: no lift on two of the buildings, so if you’re staying on the last floor get ready for a workout.
I knew going in that this was a student dorm, but I wasn’t prepared for how shabby it is. Both of my kids are in residence at different colleges and they are so much nicer than this one. I had a mattress that I don’t think they make any more with the coil springs - and it was slanted. I feel sorry for the student that moves in and has to live there for the school year. The staff was pleasant enough, and the highlight of this stay was the full and generous Breakfast in the morning. I just think I could not recommend this to anyone except the most budget minded traveler. The dorm is heavily dated and damaged almost everywhere. Including carpeting and walls. On the positive side I felt very safe here. And it is close to the tube and buses so if you’re sightseeing, you’re gonna be close to everything. Just particularly small and dingy.
Basic but good location
Very basic but that was expected. Very noisy from 7 every morning with the kitchens underneath. Definitely needs repainting and a good deep clean but decent price for central location with breakfast included.
Arrived late which was not a problem. Got booked in finally, the person was very pleasant but struggled to find our booking initially. It was a lovely surprise to find that breakfast was being served as we had recieved information after booking to say that the kitchens were closed over the summer 2024. The rooms were on floor 3 and 4, so quite a trek with our bags, particularly as it was rather warm. The rooms were functional and beds comfortable. The top floor room had a sloping ceiling so I would have struggled in that room, the 2 people who did stay in there did not have a problem, although it was very warm. The breakfast was fantastic and the showers had plenty of hot water. Overall a good value place to stay that is close to a couple of different tube stations.
A suitable bolt-hole for a basic stay.
Great location, easy and speedy check-in. Useful left luggage facility for the day of / day after your stay. Good bits: mattress, bed size, fan in room (London is never cold!), left luggage. Things they could improve on: plug in the in-room sink (makes shaving tricky!), breakfast is only from 0800 ... makes an early up and out tricky.
Good location, excellent price.
Good value and accommodation
Excellent decent priced student accommodation turned somewhere to lay your head in the summer. Nice staff. Comfy bed. Quiet.
I stayed 2 nights here, it is very close to Euston Station amd I absolutely enjoyed my stay. A very quiet and serene location, welcoming after a long day out in the London. The staffs at the reception were qute friendly and breakfast was also awesome. It will be my fust stop anytime I visit London!
tom
good location for train stations
Great breakfast
Staff were helpful. Breakfast is brilliant and so met some lovely people. PSE is value for money.
Student rooms in a nice central location, very convenient for King's Cross. Entered my room to find it hadnt been made up after the last guest - desk staff quickly and courteously upgraded me. Breakfast is good but the cafeteria is aggressively noisy - the room is an echo chamber. Very good value for money - one of the few remaining genuine bargains in London accommodation.
An excellent place to stay.
Closet.
Very small rooms.
Very good
good clean accommodation good breakfast you know what type of accommodation campus type good for this type
Does the job👍
The bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was spot-on. The building itself has seen better days but does the job to rest your head after spending most of your time out and about.
Great location, good price - room was very noisy as had toilet with hand drier on other side of wall to bed so constantly interrupted!
Decent and conveniently located
Very good value for money. Absolutely fine for a nights stay. Some furniture/appliances worse for wear but still clean. Breakfast was great.
Ok for the price
My room turned out to be right next to the extractor fan for the kitchen below me, so at 6.15-6.30 on each of the 3 mornings I was there, I was awoken to the horrible noise coming from outside the window. It was also very hot in there. Breakfast: When you go in to the dining room, you will find the hot counter first. If, like me, you like a bit of cereal before a fry up, carry on around the corner to the left, you will find cereals, bread to go in the bread warmer (no way on this earth you can call it a toaster as it comes out the same colour as it went in) and hot and cold drinks. You will have to go back to the hot food counter for a spoon though, fighting your way through the tight squeeze surrounded by everyone else trying to get a morning brew. But hey, you can pick up a croissant or pain au chocolate while you're there. The hot food; eggs in various forms, scrambled, boiled and fried. Chicken halal sausages and pork non halal sausages that I could see had been served, tried the chicken but it wasn't that nice. Waffles were really dry, even after a soaking with maple syrup. Nice selection of fruit and yogurts though. There was no TV in the rooms, but I had read there was a communal TV lounge, but it appears this is for students during term time only. So take a tablet with you. But it was cheap for the middle of London at new year, and would probably stay again but with an ensuite at the back of the building.
Area was a university property, not much around. But plenty of eatery choices in Euston Station, just a few blocks away. But be warned, London is becoming a cash free place. Be prepared with Google pay or Apple pay.
Great Place
Great place to stay, everything was perfect. Hope to stay again.
Terrible accommodation. Need to walk 3 1/2 floors up with no lift. Horrible bathrooms. Excellent staff. Excellent location. But management and facilities very bad. LSE deserves condemnation for offering up these slums in such decrepit old facilities
The accommodation is basically student hostel with shared bathroom. The room and the shower room are clean but facilities are modest. The premise is at the city centre. Breakfast is decent. Good for temporary stay in transit.
Typical student accommodation, excellent value
Uni halls
This place is a bargain and also nostalgic reminded me of being back at uni
Can't go wrong for a 2/3 night stay.
Could not close the bedroom window. It was stuck solid. So the first night was spent to the sounds of a noisy neighbourhood on a Sat night. Thankfully it wasn't that cold. I reported the problem to the staff the next day and the maintenance came up inside 5min and fixed the problem.
Would definitely visit again, well appointed, clean, and a brilliant base being just 10 minutes from Euston and the underground
This is a convenient place. I stayed here 5 years ago and I came back for a couple of nights while I stayed in London before traveling to my final destination. Everything s very clean, even the shared bathrooms. The breakfast is included as part of your room rate and is the best part of the trip. I also like the garden, which is very festive with lights, deckchairs and picnic benches. I like to sit outside reading until it gets too dark after my day in London. My only complaint is how hot it was the room. I had several uncomfortable nights, but you can't beat it price and location. I will stay here again.
It was the only place we could find in London without breaking the bank. It was mostly our own fault as we arrived in London without reservations! Bad move. The facilities are very basic which is what we expected for the price, but it did have laundry facilities even if they were difficult to use. Why you need an app to use a washer and dryer when a simple credit card terminal is much simpler.
Great for budget central mini break
Pleasantly surprised by out stay at LSE Passfield Hall. Great location, reasonable price and lovely addition of free plentiful breakfast. Room was clean and spacious, bathroom facilities were clean and the garden area was spacious. Staff in general were very friendly (the only thing we didn't like was being questioned quite frequently as we entered the hotel at night, though I imagine this is due to unreasonable behaviour by guests in the past more than anything). Overall, we had a great time and will definitely return in the future. Thanks LSE Passfield Hall!
Wonderful to be so central. The halls are simple and clean. Cost was ok for central London too (but I'd always prefer cheaper!) Overall a great lowish-budget experience!
I knew this was a dorm so my expectations were low. The beds were actually comfortable and the room was large. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. It was close to the British museum and other interesting spots. The building was very warm but the temperature was hotter than normal. I would definitely stay again.
Excellent location. Some noise at night from other guests. Dirty carpets and chaotic baggage store.
Solo traveller
A really convenient place to stay for access to kings cross and st Pancras. I had a small single room and as weather was hot and humid the room was like an oven. It's not a modern building and shows its age. However, it was a fair price and great for an overnight stay between train connections. Barring the hot, humid weather, which is beyond LSE control, I would say it was fine. There seemed to be plenty of shared toilets and showers and hot water. I have no complaints.
The Reception Desk staff were excellent. We arrived and were scheduled to first ee in a room that was on the 4th floor with no elevators and too many steps. We are both seniors. We went to the reception staff and they were thankfully able to change our room to a different building on the 2nd floor with an elevator. We were very grateful. A special thanks to these two young staff for helping us out. There was a full breakfast which was very nice. There were a few minor shower issues and these were taken care of quickly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was very economical, convenient to the metro and many dining options close by. We would recommend it to others.
The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout. Room small and basic and building a bit 'tired looking' but more than adequate for a budget stay. Generally good VFM as breakfast was also included for £50 per night. This is an excellent price for such a central location.
Very nice & courteous reception staff. Willing to go out of their way to assist as needed. Extra towels, getting leaky showers fixed, etc. nice full breakfast included
Excellent value for an overnight stay. Few minutes walk from Euston so very accessible
Good value for location
Excellent stay at Passfield Hall
Very pleasant overnight stay at Passfield hall. excellent value for money, especially as it was en suite and included breakfast. No TV or kettle in room but a kitchen with kettle/microwave/tea/coffee just across the corridor. Would just have liked an extra pillow as one thin once wasn't really sufficient. Pity they don't have more en suite rooms. I think most rooms are without private bathroom. Apart from this really good and would definitely stay again.
Very clean and comfortable, ideal for a stay in central London at a reasonable price!
Excellent plentiful breakfast
Excellent plentiful breakfast Wi-Fi on computer not working
Great location, good breakfast and all staff super helpful
I have stayed in many similar university halls of residence before, and many in London, as they provide a cost-effective alternative to standard hotel options. As one would expect, Passfield Hall is no frills, which is fine for a night or two. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful at all times, the room was very clean and bed comfortable, with the added bonus of an on-floor kitchen for snacks, etc., and clean washing / toilet facilities. All provided in a great Bloomsbury location. Highly recommended, will stay again.
Great location; smooth check-in; knockout breakfast; competitve price
Awesome location.
Great location and value for money but noise levels through the night can be high, especially slamming doors.
Very comfortable room, long walk up to the top of the building, but worth it for the nice room.
Booked two rooms, told on arrival one of the rooms was unavailable as it had been double booked and told the two people they would have to share, absolute Joke. tried several times to get in touch with them and emailed but no reply, left it with Expedia who were also having difficulty getting in touch with them, i have no idea if i will be refunded as i can not speak to anyone, would avoid...
Good value, easy check in, clean room, extrA blankets on demand. Coke though. Window did not sit squarely in the frame so there was always a draft and they turned the heat off at night even though the temperature outside was below the freezing point. Great central location though. Breakfast was plain but nourishing.
Student Hall
a good location and a friendly welcome to simple student accommodation
Nothing
Last minute stay - loved the location, price, very helpful and friendly staff, the good breakfast and being able to leave luggage
My preferred budget hotel in the area
I really liked my stay here. The room was double the size of other hotels in the area. The Wi-Fi was reliable and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was actually quite nice and the shared bathrooms were clean and nicer than some of the private bathrooms in the area. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. This has become my preferred place to stay when working in London.
Good basic accommodation at a fair and reasonable price. Great breakfast.
Good
Nice place in a good location very near to St Pancras. Our door didn’t lock and our key card didn’t let us into the kitchen. When we asked at reception they just said “let me try something” and each time it failed. Overall a positive experience staying here though, I would use this accommodation again.
Nice stay
There was lot of space in the room which I liked and it had good storage space but the positives end there sadly. The beds were really uncomfortable and for me, a bad night’s sleep defines my stay. I knew everything would be basic with the low price I paid but I still expect a better quality bed. Can’t believe students sleep on these!
The location is excellent and it's very cheap for central London. Quiet. Good breakfast.
Staff were really helpful, breakfast was good, location was perfect for our needs, luggage storage available for day of checkout. I would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed the breakfast. However, the heater is controlled by timer. It was not switched on for most of the time at night. My room was freezing. My stay will be better if the heater is working probably. It was very hard to sleep in a cold room during winter time.
easy walking distance to 3 tube stations, the suite was older but clean and servicable, having a private bathroom is so much nicer than having to share one.
It’s hard to not break the bank if you’re in London over Christmas. LSE Passfield Hall was very reasonably priced, and the breakfast included made it a great deal. Location was good-in Bloomsbury, with a couple of tube stations close by, and walking distance to the British museum and library. My only “cons” were that the building we were in had no elevator, and even though we only had carryon luggage it’s quite a hike up 4 flights of stairs. Also, although quiet, the room was so basic that, if you were tired and didn’t want to go out in the evening, it’s not a very comfy place to hang out. Next time I’ll pay a bit more and get a little more ambience.
Liked it.
隔音沒有到很好,別人用水會有水聲,其他基本上都不錯
The staff was great, and the breakfast was wonderful!
Staffs were helpful. The breakfast was good. Their kitchen was useful, let traveler save money. Will stay again !
Very good, helpful staff, very good breakfast, comfortable clean room. Convenient location.
Excellent value and so close to Euston station. An amazing breakfast too.
Despite the shared bathroom facilities, this is an excellent budget option, particularly with a decent all you can eat breakfast included.
Student dorms rented out to tourists
Not a fancy place by any stretch, but perfectly located (walking distance to British Museum, British Library, and many other attractions), clean, quiet and a very nice breakfast. A perfect stay for a few days. Would definitely return.
It's very close to Saint Pancras Station and British Museum. The neighbourhood was calm, and a few minutes' walk took me to the vibrant urban district. The staffs were gentle and the room was cozy enough. The shared bathrooms and toilets were ok by numebers. The buffet breakfast was the only problem, I guess. It didn't taste excellent.
Great stay, highly recommended, full review below
Before I begin, let me just remind anyone reading this that the LSE Passfield Hall is NOT a luxury hotel. You're paying next to nothing for a PRIVATE room, so enjoy the experience for what it is. The following is a full review with all the info I would have liked to have had before arriving. LOCATION: LSE PH is in a great area. A 7 minute walk to Euston station and a 15 minute walk to King's Cross/St. Pancras. You can take the tube to literally anywhere in London in about 15-30 min. Breakfast: I expected a cheap and easy spread of foods, boy was I surprised. They had loads of options including fresh baked pastries. I'm a vegetarian and appreciated the veggie sausage and Almond/Oat milk options. Vegans can get by with the buffet. The pancakes were mushy but hey, its all free. Wifi: good in spots, but I bought a UK sim card for my phone. Pro tip, unlock your phone before you leave, and check out a company called "3", they have cheap prepaid plans. I got 12 gigs for my 2 week trip for $40 CAD. I stayed on the second floor of the main building so I had access to the elevator, but others weren't so lucky. If you're concerned, I'd recomend calling them for accommodation. Sharing a bathroom was my biggest fear, but it was super easy. Everything was clean, and I only ever saw two other people on my floor. The single room was tiny, but I only used my room for sleeping. London is a city to explore, not sit in a hotel room all day. Perfect for the solo travelers like me.
It is in a good location. The breakfast is terrific and the staff are helpful.
Everything was good. I stayed for 4 days. I did not have a chance to have breakfast there because my tour and activities all started at 8 am. The breakfast should open from 7am.
Stay for 1 night
Good location, value for money. Basic clean room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast
Super Location in London
Good value for the price. It is a dormatory so carpets worn and dirty. Furnature simple, bed small, as expected. The window only opens 4 inches and even in September the room was warm. The best thing about Passfield Hall was the great hot breakfast. The location is verg good with 4 underground stations each 3 blocks away. This gives access to many of the different underground lines without having to change trains. Heathrow is a one train trip from Russel Square on the Picadilly line. Also the fabulous British Museum is a short walk away.
Good location at a reasonable price. Only problem was carrying cases up stairs.
Exactly what I was looking for - a few hours in a bed. No fuss. I was impressed with the slickness of the set-up. Will stay again.
I don’t recommend
It’s basically a dorm room and should be advertised as such, it wouldn’t have been so bad if it had ac or a window I could open... I told staff and they told me to wedge a box in the window
Location was superb as it was close to everything! Staff was not very friendly but the room and showers were very clean. Room was very stuffy and could be hot. Given that I was there when the temperature was around 16-20C, could not imagine what will the room like when it is 30C. 24hr reception and luggage storage were very convenient too.
Great quiet place to stay for family/teenagers.
Amazing budget place to stay in Bloomsbury/Euston border. Easy walking distance to Madame Tussauds, Covent Garden, Piccadilly, British Library. Easy to hop on tube to Tower of London/Tower Bridge. There is a kitchen so can microwave or cook on hob meals for budget break. Breakfast was great choice and plentiful. Asked for a quiet room and put at end of corridor on top floor next to fire exit stairwell. Was really quiet. Thanks. TV lounge, pool table, table tennis, football game and board games for amusement in basement. Ideal for family - we stayed in a triple room for 1 adult and 2 teenagers - sampled student living and sticking to a budget! Big chain restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
The building is for LSE students, and partly - maybe just during the summer - used as hotel. Shared bathrooms (showers) and shared toilets are one thing to notice. Showers tend to clog pretty fast. There are no phones in the rooms, nor there are Tv sets. The booking cannot be canceled and is not refundable.
Recommended
Clean room, clean bathrooms, good kitchen facilities, nice view, great location. A good experience all round.
Perfectly adequate for the price. I’d stay again.
