LSE is student accomodation from mid September to mid July and is reasonable priced accomodation in central London in walking distance of all popular sites. Breakfast is plain with lots of fruit and choice of cereals, plenty of coffee and tea. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only down side for me was the single bed, very narrow and the mattress was too soft. I would stay there again.
This is bargain basement land. The room I had was large, the bed was creaky but I slept ok. Bathroom was ok clean, sink was far too small to wash your face in without spreading water everywhere, when you turned the tap on the pipes made an awful noise, the toilet leaked constantly so I had the delightful noise of that all night. There was only the one mirror in the bathroom so to dry my hair I had to prop the heavy bathroom door open with a bookcase to be able to be able to see what I was doing. Breakfast is only served from 8am, so way too late to take advantage of (and I think that is probably the whole idea, most people need to leave by 8). The windows are single glazed so you get a lot of noise from the road below. It's just about ok for the price but I would not stay here again. It's old, it's tired and doesn't provide much in the way of comfort.
Very convenient location for West end theatres. Plentiful and good breakfast options. Clean and comfortable bed.
Tiny room. Not as advertised. Broken toilet and refused to move us. Over heated. Staff didn’t care when we left next day. Told us to get money back from booking agent. Terrible.
It was a good stay. Everything was fine except a few minor details. The water wouldn’t go down in the shower and since it was a shared shower, it was overflowing. It was also loud during the day because I think they were fixing something. Other than that it was good.
Great
Great value and location in central london. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was fantastic. Kitchen in apartment was good. Overall would recommend. My only comment would be that the cleaning could have been slightly better. But overall a great choice.
Basic and ideal for a short stay. But bit of a maze to navigate, the sensor lighting was an issue as it only stayed on for about 3 seconds so I had to use my phone torch most the time. And my room had dirty clothing in it from the previous guest. Great location and cheap, but probably wouldn't stay again
Great location. Substantial breakfast offered.
Was very easy for what I needed. Just wish people would respect communal areas and avoid slamming doors.
Very good location for the budget, within walking distance of theatres. Staff was helpful and they were able to store my bag for a few hours before I could check in. The room was clean too and the bed was comfy. HOWEVER, the room I had was tucked away with all the shared spaces behind a separate door, meaning that whenever people would use the facilities I’d constantly hear the door slamming closed all night. And the biggest issue by far was the NOISE of the plumbing! Every time someone used the shower or toilet it let out the LOUDEST, EAR PIERCING buzz and it woke me constantly, genuinely the loudest pipes I’ve heard it’s like a foghorn at 5am. Luckily I was only there two days; if I’d had to stay there full time as a student I would’ve gone mad and left after one week. I don’t know what the noise is like in other rooms or if it was specifically an issue in mine, but it really soured the whole experience
Great place to stay in an excellent location, especially if you want to see shows in London.
Irrelevant - all important points made already.
Polite and helpfull staffs, cozy and clean and in good location
It's location and price were really good. Walking distance to most attractions; British Museum, Covent Garden, Chinatown, Leicester Square, etc. Easily accessible to the Underground for further sites. Room was clean. Accessibility at late hours was easy and secure, Breakfast was very good selection. Only source of potable water is a dispenser in the cafeteria on the first floor. Will stay there again.
Central location but still quiet, good selection for breakfast but can be rather busy and if a few in your group sitting together could be tricky
I personally really enjoyed my stay here because it is a student dorm, but can see how this might not be the experience for everyone. The rooms and other facilities are clearly made for long term student living, so the bed, furniture, and bathroom/kitchen were in good working order and felt cozy and comfortable. The place is clearly a bit worn, and noise level may be an issue if you’re a light sleeper - but neither of these things bothered me so I had an excellent stay. Breakfast was also delicious and free so that’s also a big bonus for me :)
Great value accommodation (though still not cheap) in the centre of London. Great location with in walking distance of the west end, Covent Garden and Oxford street etc. Shared bathroom was fine though there was a bit of a puddle by the entrance to the shower, which is a bit off putting when sharing with others. Managed to avoid stepping in it though. Shower itself was actually very good and powerful. Nice to have a kitchen available. The room was very clean and the Bed was comfy, it also wasn’t too noisy despite being very central. Staff all very helpful and great that you can leave your bags with them before you check in and after you check out. Very helpful. Breakfast was very very nice, with a good choice of options and great that it was included with the room price. All in all, just about the best value accommodation for the location and we would happily stay again.
Th location is amazing, you can walk literally everywhere and also the subway station is close.
Value for money
Great location to the British Museum and theatre district. Great price and excellent breakfast included in the price. Very close to several transport options, restaurants etc. Comfortable bed and space - tiny bathroom.
Clean, safe, comfortable but bring your own towels and toiletries. The breakfast was fabulous
Great location
This is a student property that's let during the summer. It's not a hotel - it's student accommodation with shared bathrooms etc. That said it's very good basic accommodation and the breakfast is as good as you would get in a hotel. Critically it incredibly central and walking distance to pretty much everywhere.
It’s perfect for a short stay
Great location central london. Closest train station is roughly 8 mins walk. Can be a little noisy in the evening but helps if you close the window. All communual areas are clean and tidy. I woukd stay again
Stay
I have stayed before. The room, toilet & shower are all good👍. The continental breakfast is good 👍 The only thing is it could be a little bit cheaper. But other than that a great venue.😎👍
We have stayed at other LSE properties but first time at High Holborn. Location and access is fabulous. Remember that this is student accommodation. We had a twin room with ensuite. Room was clean, ensuite very tiny but adequate. Each floor has a small kitchen. There is a pleasant lounge to relax in and luggage can be left if arriving early. Breakfast is cafeteria style with plenty of choices and trays quickly refilled. For a budget choice, LSE is fabulous value in expensive London.
Definitely recommend for a short stay in the capit
Very nice for a short stay right in the centre and walkable to most things ie bars, restaurants tube stations. Excellent breakfast as well
Great location and fantastic price! Would recommend if you’re only in the city for a couple of days
Very good location, free breakfast buffet, and nice dorm rooms with lots of shelves and cabinet space. Only negative is the toilets and showers are very small.
Check in was only from 4pm which didn't quite fit in with our plans. We could leave our bags which was fantastic. Shower, toilet & kitchen was very clean. Really good choice at breakfast.
Good experience. Some details but If you stay in London is short, Its a good chance
The place is great if you plan to stay for a few days by yourself, be prepared to share bathroom with others and maybe run to the one in the reception if someone is using the common one
All staff very helpfull. For such a good price, didn't think it would include breakfast, which was a welcome bonus.
Economical, convenient, great location
awesome
Value for money
Good location Clean comfortable bed and a hot shower all we needed Good continental breakfast
Basic accommodation but clean and convenient. Excellent value for money. Nice continental breakfast.
Great stay and value for money
Visited to stay before Taylor swift and we enjoyed our stay , great value for money with breakfast included, room was spacious, comfortable and clean. When we dropped off our bags for storage we were greeted rudely by a lady at reception who told us check in was at 16:00 despite contacting the hotel before staying to make sure check in was before 16:00 due to commitments we had at this time. We challenged this and showed the email I had received and she continued to be rude, however, another staff member clarified the check in was from 15:00 onwards and reassured us if the room wasn’t ready we could get ready elsewhere which was helpful and settled our anxieties. When we came to check in at 15:00 there were no issues at all , all the staff were friendly and helpful !
Pleasant stay in college dorm room. Bigger than hotel room that I stayed in on visit to London in 2019. Continental breakfast, good mattress, one has to go down hall to use toilet. Very good value.
Perfect location next to Soho
Perfect location next to Soho
OK
Very good deal for staying in London, within walking distance to many popular places.
Everything very good, cleanliness excellent. Only downside noise, we had a room onto the High St and it was Saturday night!!!! No sleep at all. Breakfast excellent.
Champagne location, ginger beer budget!
Perfect for those out and about and only sleeping at the accommodation. Facilities are basic but clean, bed comfy and breakfast satisfactory. Staff were smiley despite a very busy time of guests and returning students. The room (floor 10) was extremely hot with only a small gap for window ventilation (for obvious reasons!) but a fan was provided which did help this guest, although not the environment. I would stay again. It is a 2 mile walk from Victoria coach station, past Buckingham Palace, through Green Park, along Piccadilly and up Shaftesbury Avenue. A feast for the eyes. A stone's throw from Covent Garden and its many streets and hidden pleasures. It was very easy to rack up over 11 miles on the walking app (in just an afternoon/evening).
Loved my stay at LSE High Holborn. It was close to the tube, in a great area with cafés and restaurants, it was clean and the breakfast was great. Highly recommend!
The location is perfect, less than 5 mins to Holborn station, 24/7 reception with easy left luggage, on top of this there's a buffet breakfast (continent) which runs to 11:00. For the price, this place is fantastic. TO NOTE - They asked for ID in check-in, this was not in any of the initial emails or messages sent to me and check out is at 10:30 not 11:00.
Great location, good breakfast, helpful staff. Very good value for central London
Location is perfect and staffs are very professional. However, please provide a small electric fan for the room is too hot.
Good location. Very walkable to many highlights. Great breakfast options. Staff was nice. Zero view. Rooms and washrooms were okay but bare basics. Did have access to full kitchen for anyone wanting to save money on dining out.
University housing can be an affordable alternative in big expensive cities! We were pleasantly surprised by the LSE facilities. Dorm rooms reminded us of Uni days!
Location is very convenient and the food is nice.
Location is very good to access most popular attractions and staff was very kind and helpfulj. Thank you!!
Great spot unless it's hot outside
Nice, clean facility in easy walking distance to many sites. Friendly, helpful staff. Only criticism is it was quite warm with no AC available
Amazing location.
I was in London for few days for work ...This place is perfect for a single traveler...I used the kitchen to cook some dinner it was clean and quiet never felt in a rush or uncomfortable ..Amazing breakfast every morning downstairs loads off fresh fruit cereals yogurts which i love ..Only downside was one of the lifts not working so a slight delay to go upstairs to the 7th floor...Butt overall i enjoyed my stay best value for money all things considered in this part of London by Far...
Good stay. Of course this is university accommodation, so we knew what we were expecting. Great breakfast with lots of options. Communal bathroom and kitchen may benefit from more regular airing but were functional and clean, albeit a little tired. Location is incredible for theatres, Covent Garden and Leicester Square.
The Shared toilet did not work for 5 room for two days. After report the staffs tried to fix it. Each time to go out or in from your room you can hear a bang shoot for all rooms and there were no ways to stop them. People go in an out from 6 and for sure make others up. Very loud noise when the staffs took the garbage bins out of building with wheels on bins on cobblestone surface. The building was nice and clean. The breakfast was great. Accessible and fantastic neighborhood for visitors.
It was a good place to stay for the theatre district, but I had a sink in my room that was blocked with someone else's food. Breakfast that is included more than made up for everything else being a bit worn (due to it being uni accommodation)
Will stay in this again next time in London
Very good value for money. Especially in central London. Great location with so many popular tourist destinations a short walk away. Breakfast is provided and a good selection of food is available. Cheap and cheerful in the best possible way.
Two and a half stars. The best thing about this place is the location, which is obviously very important as a tourist. The only other thing I can recommend about the property is the very good breakfast that is included, which was a welcome surprise. Otherwise, I cannot recommend on the basis of the "accommodations" alone. The mattress was old and in bad condition. The setup of the bathrooms is atrocious and I truly feel for the students who have to live with that on a long-term basis. I understand the cost is rock bottom and you're in central London, and that's obviously a tradeoff that many are willing to make. For some it will work just fine, for others definitely not. And it could be that other rooms/bathrooms have been renovated and I saw only my small "wing." But let's not kid ourselves that it's easy to overlook the showers that are more suited to a prison than a hotel.
Well positioned for theatre trips and access to central London.
Good
No toilet in room was a real pain
Staff very good. Very clean. Using toilet no facilities to dry hands. Using shower very limited arrangements for hanging clothes.
Perfect location. Great breakfast. We had a room with an ensuite which was super convenient. The bed was uncomfortable, but we had a great stay and would absolutely book again!
bad beds, good location
Beds had no springs and rooms not well maintained
For a cheap room for the night its ok, would i come back most probably not. I knew it was student accomodation but needed a bit of a clean if honest, went down for continental breakfast didnt bother everything on plasticbplates and dishes, its fine if you dont mind that, so went for brwakfast around the corner, we was on 10th floor ensuite, but our door sisnt lock, and slept with a chair and oyr cases in feont of door
Location
A lovely clean and friendly place beds really comfy Great place to stay in for theatre land and Covent Garden.
Great Location.
The price I paid for this hotel for two nights was £94 which included breakfast, it was a shared bathroom which did not bother me at all as it was very clean and only shared with a few rooms. The breakfast was a continental breakfast which had a lot to offer, like I say you just can’t complain. The location is literally 6 min walk from Covent Garden tube station and is in the perfect location. The only gripe I had was that the fire doors were very squeaky and can be heard when laying in bed. Just a little bit of oil and it would be sorted. I would definitely recommend staying over if you want to keep the price down on your weekend away.
A bit tired but nothing you wouldn’t expect with it being university halls of residence. And this was more than made up for by the price and central location.
Good service, nice breakfast
No sleep
Awful, no sleep as toilet ran all night!
Great location, clean, no-frills (no tv, no a/c, some rooms w/ shared bathroom). All the sights within walking distance. Charming canteen where simple breakfast is served for an eclectic bunch of guests. Perfect for low-maintenance solo travellers especially.
Comfortable room
A lovely comfortable room
Great location, good price !
Excellent location. Have stayed here before and the rooms have been upgraded since then. Much better layout.
Spotless!
Room not made up as a twin on arrival. The housekeeping team were on their way out of the door as we reported it so thankfully went and fixed it, but it’s twenty minutes hanging around I could have done without. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay if you need to rest your head in Central without breaking the bank. Very clean, free wifi, great breakfast and an excellent position.
Good value for money and close to the West end.
Find somewhere else
The staff are absolutely fine and the location is good but it’s like being in a prison cell no tv, and a very basic room, the toilet and shower were in the corridor and was full of turds and the shower hardly worked, noise all night long the windows might aswell be made of paper
Yo this was literally a prison experience!😅😅😅 Like I ain't even trippin! Ok legit, it was V. Interesting. Wouldn't recommend more than a nights stay. No air con, prison like rooms and a communal claustrophobic shower 👀👀
High praise for High Holborn!
This is a great place. It is a simple but comfortable private room at a hostel price. The room was very comfortable, spacious for one person and had a great vanity area. The shared bath and kitchen were in great shape and I never bumped into anyone else there. It felt very safe as I was travelling alone for my three days in London this was important to me. The neighborhood was unbeatable!
Had looked for a reasonably priced stay in the west end of London and found it here -great location, very clean, quiet and comfortable quarters. There’s nothing fancy about it so if that’s your expectation move on - but a comfy bed with a huge breakfast and you don’t mind a shared bath - this will fit the bill nicely.
Breakfast is excellent. Unfortunately, there was supposed to be a water fountain or something but the machine did not work.
The property was very well located near to museums, theaters, shopping and restaurants yet in the heart of the city so easy access to sightseeing.. As the property is actually for student residences the rooms were not large, no TV, radio etc and the lighting was not great. The staff was wonderful as was the breakfast which was included.
Excellent location.
The room they provided for us when we checked in was already booked (ie there was someone else stuff in the room), then it disappointingly took an hour and a half to get another room (that someone else wasn’t in...). Check in was a shambles, no major apologies or make goods offered. The room itself was good and clean, it’s not the ritz but your not paying for the ritz either. But, the location is AMAZING. Excluding the check-in experience would stay again.
I wish they would allow for early check-in. I was a zombie, having arrived at 7 am from a long flight. They were kind to store my luggage but I was in no condition to walk around until 3 PM.
Top value in the centre of London
This is in a fantastic location, five minutes from Covent Garden. Understand that this is a university halls of residence so has essential services, but it offers great value for money, it’s clean and comfy. The check-in was friendly, easy and efficient. Definitely recommend and will use again for my next trips to London.
Clean and tidy. Warm room. Comfy bed. Friendly staff at reception. Food choice of breakfast. Don’t expect a full English though!!
Really good for a central location.
easy and clean room, really a great location to stay while visiting London.wemoat definitely be back!
Excellent budget stay in the heart of the city
Relaxed place, easy checkin, left luggage all day and great breakfast.
Clean and modern. Shared toilet and shower, no TV etc but comfortable. Good breakfast
Law high Holborn
Great value for money and only 10 minutes from the west end.
Not what the pictures portray
This is not a hotel or serviced apartments. It is a university halls of residence. The photos are very miss-leading. No en-suite and only one toilet and one shower per block of 5 rooms. No TV. Frustratingly I could have booked the Travelodge directly across the road, for the same cost. A good sized shared kitchen, but nothing else in the block. Large canteen for everyone, where breakfast is served. Comfortable bed, but noisy students banging doors until late.
Had been moved to a different building on arrival and given 2 separate rooms. Fridge leaked in one room so had to move. Breakfast excellent though.

Fantastic budget option, great location, best continental breakfast I’ve seen in London, have seen places that charge twice as much be way stingier, options for everyone and really fresh fruit. Really nice it’s included in the price too. Cleaned to a high standard with towels provided, the only thing was that maintenance for a broken flush on the apartment toilet took a couple of days so had to use the main facility bathrooms while that was out.
