Location is amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The condition of the rooms didn’t quite resemble the pictures.
Craig & staff were warm & welcoming. Wonderful pub & great dining. Rooms were classic ! Would recommend and stay here again
Cosy haven in the storm
Arrived just before Storm Ashley hit so it was lovely to be inside and cosy whilst the storm raged outside. Staff were really helpful and friendly with us and our dog. Enjoyed a delicious meal with particularly delicious desserts of sticky toffee pudding, cheesecake & tablet icecream
Great!
The hotel was exactly as described. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional. And the bar was perfect.
Room with a view
Beautiful views from our room. Evening meal good, breakfast more than enough. Friendly staff lovely location.
The bar a restaurant are lovely, delicious and the staff was great. The hotel however, was ok. Not too good not too bad. The bathroom light turns on by pulling a cable. Through the bathroom we could hear our room neighbors like they were in the same room and I’m guessing they did too. We did enjoy our stay. Way too expensive for the experience.
We had a great stay here. The staff were welcoming and gracious. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The food was very good at both breakfast and dinner. We highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Stayed in the pods and they were beautiful. Dinner was a little disappointing but overall was a great experience!
Very dated hotel and not in a good way. Creaky floors, layers of pain. Looked tired and worn. A massive pothole in the driveway leading in was invisible at night and nearly broke my car. Staff were friendly and food was good so a mixed bag.
The staff was amazing. Super friendly and helpful, with great ideas about things to see/doo in the area.
An all too brief one night stay. Great location, lovely Pod room, cosy bar, great food with local choices and welcoming hosts. Very lovely and easy.
Good restaurant and bar area with views of the loch and sunset
Nice place
My husband and I loved everything about our stay. Our room was as comfortable and the shower was nice and hot, food was fantastic and everyone went above and beyond for us. The location was incredible. So beautiful.
We enjoyed staying here. View was beautiful. Hotel has bar and restaurant so once you arrive you don’t have to leave.
Beautiful setting on the loch, small quaint hotel with snug bar and good breakfast and dinner options on site.
This hotel was beautifully situated on Loch Leven, with water views from the rooms and dining area. Our room was in the main building, with a four-posted bed and antique furnishings and lighting fixtures. The staff was friendly and professional (Paul and Karen especially); dinner and bar service were great, as was breakfast the next morning. We had a lovely stay!
Great location
The restaurant service was excellent! The property is a little worse for the wear and was chilly. Bed mattress a little thin although bedding was nice. Mostly it was overpriced.
Beautiful property, cozy and comfortable rooms, good dining options in a beautiful setting.
While some of the reviews we read rated this place charming, I would tell you to run the other way. You can surely do better even if you have to drive further. If I am able to post photos I will do so. You will see the mold and dry rot in the molding at the base of the shower. The shower enclosure itself seemed clean but the floor was horrid. The fuzz all over the exhaust fan that has not been cleaned in who knows how long. The dirty carpet. The pull cord to turn on the lights in the bathroom. The sink with separate hot and cold taps and the drain that must be exactly balanced or the sink won’t drain. No tissues in the room. No shampoo. No conditioner. There was a barely enough amount of body wash. One hand towel and one small body towel each. No hair dryer. If you want one you must go to reception to borrow one. No elevator, so fair warning, you will be dragging your suitcase up a curved staircase with narrow stairs. The staff was cordial and efficient. We slept fairly well, so the two twin beds were comfortable . Breakfast offered a full Scottish, cereals, yogurt, toast, coffee or tea. We ate dinner there and the mussels were very good, served with one dry piece of bread. The second night my husband asked for an additional piece of bread. He was served 4 slices, for which we were charged £4! So be careful in how you order. I would not stay here again even if it was free and could not wait to leave.
We loved our stay at the Loch Leven Hotel! The views are absolutely stunning and our room was great. Thank you for having us!
Paul and entire staff most helpful and engaging. Cuisine very well prepared
I love this Hotel. The staff were amazing. Paul and Nick were especially welcoming and reassuring and provided great assistance and ensured our stay was wonderful. I highly recommend this establishment for one or several nights stay. Room accommodations were clean and comfortable. There was a lovely welcome gift in the room as well as tea and coffee and cookies. Breakfast was both buffet and cooked to order every morning. The lounge areas were cozy and comfortable. Rooms had lovely views of the Loch as did the Dining room. Bar area was welcoming and well stocked. I don’t have enough words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at Loch Leven Hotel. Thank you !!
loved this place so much! The stuff was so friendly <3
Property was tired. Small single bed with loose headboard. Restaurant was very good if a little pricey
Charming and quiet. A delightful property with beautiful views of Loch Leven. Such a nice retreat that includes a restaurant with delicious entrees and a bar and distillery with exceptional gin. My only regret is not spending more time there.
Good food and service
The room was a bit outdated but the restaurant and bar were nice and the staff were friendly. The location is good, but not much else around it until you reach Fort William.
Gorgeous location. Everyone was lovely and helpful.
Enjoyable stay
Loved the views, loved the service; great food.
What a place! Loved it. We had a ground floor room with a private deck. Gorgeous view of the mountains and Loch. Gardens beautiful. Amazing restaurant and pub. We had fabulous food. Loved how we didn’t have to drive out to eat. Breakfast was also good, although we are not fans of the full Scottish breakfast so we ordered eggs and toast which was no problem. We hiked lost valley, neptunes staircase, and walked around Ballachulish. This area is an incredibly beautiful area of Scotland. If you are looking to stay in the Glen Coe area I highly recommend this hotel. Even though the address is Fort William it’s much closer to Glencoe and all the hiking.
Terrible
Very overpriced. Very disappointed. Shabby and run down. Stained very worn carpets, patched up and peeling wall paper. What looked like a good sized bed was 2 singles put together. Old mattress and lumpy old pillows. Basic bathroom. Outdoor area not kept well and overgrown. Absolutely no views at all. The one good bit was a well cooked evening meal and female server. Breakfast poor very limited choice. Think the owners had checked out!
Such a delightful stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff cheerful, courteous and helpful. The restaurant food was delicious and well prepared. And the view! Stunning!
Tiny dirty rooms
For 2 people we got the room 15 which is so tiny that the couldn’t barely put our 2 suitcases on the floor and there was no place to put the towels at all. This hotel is flare and need rejuvanating!
This is a very tired hotel at a very nice location. How they got 3 1/2 stars is a complete mystery to me (linoleum floor in the bathroom rolling up, mattresses which should have been replaced a long time ago, all furniture and carpets dingy and worn out). I still cannot believe we paid what we paid for that room. To end with some positive comments, their little bar area has a nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly.
Very, nice quaint hotel, wonderful restaurant and service. A real experience of Scottish hospitality with spectacular views. only downside no elevator to help get bags up the stairs but not a real issue.
Very nice staff and service. The bed was small but did the job,
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very nice, dinner at the restaurant was excellent and we really enjoyed a few beverages at the bar. The grounds were pretty being right on the river. Our room was spacious and pretty comfortable, though at the price point for the room, felt that the amenities could use some love and attention. Even just better pillows and small refurbishments upgrades would make a big difference. We’d definitely consider staying again, but would compare against what else is available in the area.
Lovely location and very accommodating staff.
The hosts, chefs and food were fabulous. The location to die for. The pods were a tad different. Not bad- just different.
Room was not properly maintained especially for price. Views and outdoor areas very nice.
The property was located in a beautiful garden on the edge of the loch. The view from the dining room was spectacular. It was close to all of the things we wanted to see in Glencoe. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel could use a little bit of an upgrade as it is getting dated but it was still charming.
Perfect, quaint place with a beautiful view and friendly staff.
The location is great and we were grateful to stay in the Highlands last week. However, the hotel accommodations left a bit to be desired. To start the room was very warm and there was no air flow even with the window open. It was cool enough outside but ventilation was poor. Some minor updates could go a long way for summer guests. The bed we had was comparable to a pull out sleeper sofa. I don’t suspect all rooms had this type of bedding but I was disappointed that’s the room we landed.
The room was a disappointment in poor condition lacking routine maintenance. Rusty door hinges in the bathroom, lights in the mirror did not work, the toilet seat was loose and was the wrong size. The rooms walls and carpeting had spots and stains.
Understaffed
This hotel was lovely. It’s definitely one we hope to stay at again.
Very accommodating.
Good location, breakfast really nice, the assistant at the desk where you check in was a bit frosty, apart from that a nice place
Lovely place with a wonderful breakfast. Will definitely recommend to friends.
Maybe give somewhere else a shot first
The key item to me is comfort and it was the least comfortable bed in a 4 week stay in the UK. It was a thin foam pad on an old set of box springs. You could feel the springs. You could hear the springs. We traveled with another couple and they said the same. I expected the room to be small and things to be a little old and worn, but why not have decent beds. The location worked well, the people were nice, they provided a nice breakfast, it is a nice setting, and the place has potential. We were there only one night so we never used the bar or restaurant.
The views of the loch and terrain are beautiful. Staff was excellent. Food was great. Our room had the best views as did the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful location with a hiking trail right next to water. The staff were friendly yet professional. Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely location. Stunning. Food excellent. Gin superb. Really enjoyed our stay. Well located for exploring the area. Only negative is no laundry facilities as advertised.
Nice hotel, very good location and friendly staff.
Staff were fantastic and the location is gorgeous. Lots of hiking options within a short drive. Really can't imagine a better place to sit on the deck with a drink and gaze at the loch and mountains beyond.
Lovely Inn with restaurant & bar. Water view room was very nice!
Loch Leven hotel.
Great night out. Great hosts. Great food. Great drink.
This hotel is far from the town. It had no elevator I would never choose it again and with that recommended.
Perfect! Dog friendliest place around
Very good
The staff are amazing!! Clean, easy, good view, good food.
Much too expensive for an old place
Staff friendly and courteous. Room clean and tidy. Dinner and breakfast both outstanding. Highly recommend.
Best Night
Had one of the best nights of my life here. They have a tiny bar and we managed to squeeze in. The staff was great and the atmosphere was incredible. We met locals, fellow travelers and even a cat and two dogs. It was like a family reunion you did not know you were going to. Plus their gin was great. I am dying to stay here again.
December visit to Loch Leven Hotel
The ataff were helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location for a stop after a day walking. Good selection of drinks in the bar and worth sampling their own gin. Evening meal was delicious.
Absolutely outstanding hotel. Beautifully appointed room with super comfy bed. View to die for. Superb restaurant & hospitality team. Excellent wine list & chef. I need an excuse to return.
The food and bar are really great. The room was spacious and quite. The owner are really nice and easy to talk too.
Lovely views
Dining area was very clean. Rooms are a little on the older side but overall good. The room we stayed in (poster bed) had a ton of mirrors and reflective surfaces. Carpets were in desperate need of cleaning. The building was adorable from the outside and the grounds and deck off the restaurant were really great views.
Hated it!
We hated this hotel and couldn't wait to check out. The employees at this hotel are some of the rudest that we came across in our 2 weeks in Scotland. The room was the worst room. All we could smell was the laundry, smoking, and kitchen odor. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Room was completely run down and old. The employees were rude and unwelcoming upon check in. And upon check out, we told the guy we were checking out. He pointed at the box for the key, no thank you, no goodbye, no nothing! The restaurant food was terrible. Waitress acted like we were a bother. The only good thing about this hotel was it's convenient location. Close to Glencoe and other places we had planned to visit.
This hotel is really underrated. Very reasonable price and great location. Looks no different to nearby hotels which are triple the price. Stunning views from the surrounding mountains. Friendly staff. Restaurant a little bit expensive but not many options in the area - supply and demand!
Pod not as we expected it to be
The Pod was clean and tidy but we were dissapointed that it didnt have self catering facilities Microwave etc. It was Underfloor Heating but it took a while to heat up also the Bathroom was freezing so we couldnt have a Shower there wasnt a portable Heater so I was glad that I had a Hot Water Bottle with me as I was so cold we wouldnt go back there to stay .Breakfast was fine
This place is perfect if you want a quiet/peaceful place. The staff is very friendly and informative (family run business). The food was also excellent and features a nice little bar in the back along with a tiny Gin distillery (you can tour as well). Definitely a 5 star experience.
Two night stay
Excellent place to stay while visiting Glencoe, Oban, Fort William and Glenfinnan areas. Very good restaurant. Would be nice is our waitress understood English better, it led to some misunderstandings on choices
Great hotel, great visit, thank you so much!
Wonderful stay
Lovely hotel with great food! I’ll definitely stay here again. I also booked the Gin tasting with the on-site Gin Distillery - highly recommend!
The annex room wasn't great, the rest of the main hotel seemed nice. The food is amazing, the Pixel spirits are outstanding and the owner gives a fantastic Gin Distillation class which is a must do.
This was a wonderful and unique find if you are exploring glencoe. It’s situated on a river and the view was beautiful. Caro the owner was so helpful and gave us a good experience of her property. Besides that great food and drinks.
Awful annex
We were in the annex and the room was horrible as well as the bathroom. You should be embarrassed to charge that much for that room.
The location was quietly located on the Loch. All rooms are upstairs with staircase access only. Heavy luggage makes it a little difficult but staff made themselves available to help. The bathroom was very clean but the shower tub is very tall and it’s a bit difficult to enter if you’re handicap or short. The bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent. I would recommend a stay here.
Beautiful location on the shores of Loch Leven. Loved the restaurant onsite. No lift so be prepared to carry luggage upstairs. Very friendly staff. Delicious gin distilled onsite with great cocktails.
The room was very small and cold.
The property is very well kept, the staff is amazing. My only suggestion would be bathmats, inside and outside of the shower for safety. We really enjoyed our stay!
Nice place to stay. Clean rooms and good food real nice country inn
Room with a view
Room was exactly as described. Very comfortable and the chaise lounge with a view of the loch really made my wife’s day. It was very rainy when we were there and the comfort of the room really helped.
Wonderful and convenient place to stay close to Glencoe. Great staff. Very friendly and helpful
Beautiful spacious room and wonderful dinner menu. Breakfast Buffett and menu were a bit small.
people, room ,all was great
Wonderful views of Loch Leven in the dining room. Hiking trails surround this lovely little gem of a hotel. Stay in the pods for a real intimate experience of Scotland!!
Lovely older hotel, situated in an absolutely idylic location. Will return without question.
Loch Leven Hotel was at the top of our list to return to after first staying there for a single nigjt 8 yrs ago. This time we stayed 3.nights and it did not dissapoint. Staff are WONDERFUL, very kind and attentive. Breakfast is great snd dinners are fabulous. Had the best venison I have ever eaten. Bar is well stocked and a wonderful little spot to mingle with other guests. If you are visiting the Glencoe area - stay at Loch Leven; it is unique and wonderful.
Excellent hotel
Hotel very warm and comfortable The food was excellent And view superb
Overnight in Loch Leven
Wonderful location on the edge of Glencoe. We stayed in one of the pods; which were fabulous! The rain only added to the magical mystique of the location. We ate at the restaurant and food was excellent. Staff were so friendly but very busy - there were only 2 on duty and they were running around doing it all; kudos to them
We had a lovely stay, the staff was wonderful.
A very nice inn, in a beautiful setting with very friendly and attentive staff, our first time in the area and to the hotel and we look forward to returning. The OlD Ferry Bar, in the hotel was very welcoming after a long drive and our meal was very tasty! The room was well appointed and comfortable,
Beatiful setting
Nice place. Breakfast was included. Our room was quite nice, good size. Great little 9 hole golf course right over the bridge! Would definately stay here again!
Really adorable property. The staff and service was excellent! Would definitely stay here again!
Welcoming off the beaten track
Friendly welcome. Nice food. Very quiet. If you're into it, there's a nice little 9-hole gold course just around the corner. Lovely place for a quiet stay and some walking.
We were very excited to stay at this property. We arrived late due to some travel delays and checked in at the lounge. We appreciated being able to grab a meal right at the restaurant. However, I informed the server of my dietary requirements and ensured I should be okay which was not the case. I was very ill that evening delaying our departure the next morning. Overall, the pod was cute and cozy. We did have issues with heat fluctuations in the shower making it near impossible to take a full shower. Lastly, our only other disappointment was some of the linens did not appear laundered. We did not have a chance to speak to anyone on site as when we discovered the issues it was past midnight and the restaurant was closed. We should have certainly informed them the following morning though we were in a rush to get on the road. Beautiful property nonetheless.
fantastic location, Incredable views. Food was amazing, we had dinner and breaKfast, Try the their Jin!! Staff was helpful, kind and enjoyable. Can't wait to go back.
